Όμως τι σημασία είχε, αφού ο Λικ θα παντρευόταν τη Σαντάλ;

Elise Sterling (who's 27) is a physiotherapist and has five years of experience in spinal injury treatment. She has just accepted a job (her first job living abroad, in France) as a live-in physio to Luc de Rozanieux (34). Luc was recently in a car crash and hurt his spine. He is paralyzed from the waist down and is in a wheelchair. He now needs intense therapy and time to heal. Luc arrives home from the hospital, meets his new physio Elise, and starts his therapy hoping he will regain the use of his legs.

At times Luc and Elise don't get on well at all. Luc is very sarcastic and angry towards Elise, obviously upset about being in a wheelchair and needing therapy, and he takes his frustrations out on her. There was alot of bickering. But I did enjoy their verbal sparring. Luc was also a jealous hero, especially when he thought Elise was getting too close to his doctor (Dr. Dercourt). And then there was the other woman, Chantal. Then Elise's ex-fiancé shows up...

This was an enjoyable read with lots of tension and nice settings---the French chateau, the winery/vineyards.

I’m not a fan of physiotherapist (or nurse or doctor) romances with a patient because – hello – ethics/vulnerability/exploitation – but I was won over because the H/h were both such strong personalities.

Hero is French, the owner of a chateau and family vineyards and a wine-making business. A drunk driver hit his car and he injured his back when dragging the OW to safety. He’s home now and needs a physiotherapist to help him walk again.

Heroine is English but speaks French fluently. She has devoted herself to her career after she was jilted one day before her wedding. Her ex is a wine merchant and he will, of course, appear later in the story as an unwelcome OM.

Hero is cranky. Heroine is crankier back to him and actually slaps him when he has insulted her too many times. She writes out a letter of resignation, but hero won’t accept it. After this they settle into a better routine with the OW being bitchy to keep the heroine on her toes.

Hero has started walking with crutches when the OM shows up. Heroine realizes she doesn’t love the OM anymore and maybe she can move on with her life. OM wants heroine back and tries to rape her after a party. Luckily the hero, pulls him off and sends him on his way.

The heroine then leaves because she realizes she loves the hero and he is “engaged” to the OW. There is a cute airport scene where the hero blurts out that he loves the h, but it’s too late, heroine is on her way, swallowed by the crowd.

Heroine thinks it over and returns to the France before the hero can follow her for an HEA.

The H/h argue constantly, so if that bothers you in a romance, then you won’t enjoy this couple. Hero was obviously smitten from the beginning, which explains his cranky behavior. He wasn't particularly nice to the OW, either. All that engagement talk was in her own OW mind. Heroine really did have a backbone, which was nice to read. I think they will be the bickering couple who enjoy make up sex.

It's a pretty entertaining physical therapist-patient romance. The bickering between them was both intense and amusing. Heroine held her own and it was pretty clear that hero was snarling at her to hide his attraction and vulnerability. Alas, the romance between them was overshadowed by waaaaaayyyyy too much OW and OM action. Since neither got the comeuppance they deserved, I couldn't LOVE this story although I liked it.

Hero was surly and rude but in this instance I think it would be understandable. Someone in his situation would have to work through his emotions and would lash out at the nearest person. Heroine was admirable in that she kept going even when insulted and snarled at.

"I never give up on a challenge!"

Brave words, but Elise was beginning to wonder whether her job as physiotherapist to the domineering Luc de Rozanieux would end in her resignation--or her dismissal.

She knew the dangers of getting involved with patients, but she just couldn't ignore Luc's arrogant attitude. Especially as she sensed that behind the impatience of a powerful man recovering from a serious accident there was an attractive, perceptive personality..

Not that it really mattered, Elise told herself--Luc was going to marry Chantal.
