Kirsten is now by his side, determined to either salvage her husband from doom or sink into the abyss along with him…

Mapping out a vicious nightmare chocked full of daunting misgivings, brutal tactics, cruel lessons, damning facts, riveting drama, gripping intrigue, underlying threats, hidden agenda, escalating danger, spiraling suspense and nailbiting situations ensue, exposing the harrowing struggles and heart-rending triumphs, observing the deadly twists and perilous turns, kicking this gem into a frenzy with mind-blowing results, blasting this baby to life spectacularly. The attraction and chemistry ignites with such intoxicating intensity and boundless emotions, showcases the thrilling electricity and infinite affection, drawing our characters closer, binding them to one another beautifully. Gripping and Suspenseful! The opening prologue will catch your attention and it will not let you go till the very end in Provoked by the Brute Highlander. The darkest day in young Marcas' life has turned him with an explosive temper and very paranoid and knows that something dark and dangerous is coming to destroy his family and clan. Kirsten must marry for the sake of her family but is very unsure of her husband-to-be who seems to be brute of a man. Kirsten is hoping that she will be able to help Marcas find his way out of the darkness that his world has become. Ava McArthur has written an unforgettable romance that brims with tension-building twists, characters that come off the pages and pull you into their tale, a strong plot that is well written, with great emotion. As all the pieces slowly start falling together that solve the evil that is lurking in the shadows waiting to strike in this story filled with drama, passion, deceit, lies and as the tensions escalates the suspense builds and uncertainties abound that will keep you captivated until the very end.

When Marcus was a young teen, he witnessed the brutal death of his father defending the Clan from enemies and it's left him terribly cautious and on constant alert, ruling his adult life. He has finally agreed to accept an alliance and marry Kristin, the daughter of a neighboring clan. The problem is, Marcus has no idea how to treat a woman, let alone a wife. Kristin is at a loss as well, until she determines that she must lead the relationship. There is drama, betrayal, action, and steam. The growth between these two was compelling and the book very well paced. I look forward to reading more from Ava McArthur.

This exciting fast moving story of Laird Marcus Monroe and Kirsten Gallach has many surprising
twists along the way. There is also an emotional growth of the two of them learning to accept
each other. Learn not to live in the past and look towards the future.

Ava has succeeded in writing another good storyline. Kirsten and Marcus are brought together by duty. Marcus doesn't trust anyone and he doesn't take his marriage well. Will they get their HEA? This is a story of adventure, romance, betrayal and more. I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in a good read. I truly enjoyed this story, it was very entertaining and also filled with some suspense and intrigue. The characters were different from what I had expected and added to the interest of the story. Marcas witnessed the loss of his father during a battle. Being so young at the time, his uncle helped him to become the laird. But there is much more to the story!

Too melodramatic
I knew the uncle was no good from the beginning. The story itself was paragraph after paragraph of repetition. The flow of the story was too melodramatic and choppy. Each book has gotten worse rather than better, or maybe I have found the disjointedness and repetition enough.

A woman can be a fierce leader

Rude and loud
This book was okay. Not enough substance to warrant a story. For one thing. Marcas was rude through out the whole book and didn't change until the book was almost finished. I've read better.

Exciting love story

I loved the Characters and story line. It took awhile for Laird Marcus to realize Kirsten was only trying to help him. The time when it was found out that his Uncle was behind it all. Such an intriguing and great story.
