WERE THE COVID SHUTDOWNS A PROPHETIC ‘SIGN’?
Author and pastor Carl Gallups wrote in the ‘A Word from the Author’ section of this 2021 book, “Is our world actually reeling toward the prescient days of Noah---that time of unparalleled global turmoil foretold by Jesus{?}… Are we truly on the brink of a universal shaking, as a number of today’s prophecy watchers are warning?... Do you wish to know that the Word of God says about where we’re situated within the ultimate scheme of things? Do you want to find out how to prepare yourself for the future… You’ll find the answers to those questions any many others in the following pages… [And] this increasingly bizarre world we’re living in will finally make much more sense.”
I have a lot of sympathy for pastor Gallups in his objections to the treatment of churches during the pandemic. However, I would point out that churches, per se, were not singled out: SCHOOLS (where thirty kids are crowded into a single room) and public LECTURES were also banned. And bars and casinos WERE also closed, in most states. And (unlike churches) liquor stores and grocery stores don’t have hundreds of people sitting directly next to each other, in rows of pews---and most of them had ‘mask mandates’ and ‘social distancing’ requirements for their customers. So I cannot agree with him that churches were ‘in the crosshairs,’ and think that there were legitimate ‘public safety’ reasons for the various restrictions imposed.
In the first chapter, he states, “What if you were living in a world where, across the country, thousands of hardened criminals were ‘quietly released’ from prison… for ‘their safety’… when pastors and churchgoers … were fined and/or arrested simply for meeting at their places of worship?... what if the National Guard were dispatched to your church … because a group of about two dozen people tested positive for … [a] virus… No hospitalizations… No one died. They simply tested positive… what if one of the best known mega-church pastors in America were to be threatened with fines and arrest because he finally reopened his church without the government’s permission?... It happened to Pastor John MacArthur… What if the commissioner of health in one of America’s largest cities threatened to bulldoze your church… if you continued to worship in spite of the fact that the ‘government’ had ORDERED you to stop meeting? That sounds like something Communist China might do, doesn’t it?... what if the United States Supreme Court actually issued a ruling effectively declaring that a casino, restaurant, or bar had more of a constitutional right to congregate than a church… Something like that would never happen in America… right?” (Pg. 4-6)
He asserts, “a number of us who carefully analyze what is REALLY occurring in our generation didn’t necessarily believe that the newest coronavirus strain ITSELF was the presenting problem… The real issue was the resulting onslaught of continually unfurling prophetic events, coupled with … the unprecedented assaults upon the church… Yet, most of the world’s population---even a large portion of THE VISIBLE CHURCH---went on with the routine tasks of daily life as though ‘all was good’…” (Pg. 16-17)
He states, “the ever-present fake-news message was something along these lines: Going to church is ‘mega dangerous and mega deadly.’ But going to violent riots and mass protests appears to be perfectly healthy and might even be a ‘lifesaving factor,’ helping to lower our nation’s overall infection rate…” (Pg. 81)
He suggests, “It seemed that the long-hoped-for goals of every serious globalist began to revolve around the world’s newest and most convenient ‘crisis’---SARS-CoV-2. The elite denizens of the ‘new world order’ had discovered the elusive starter mechanism for which they had been frantically searching. Their plans for micromanaging the daily coming and going of the planet’s entire population were finally underway…” (Pg. 103)
He explains, “it’s simply not necessary for our English translation of Genesis 6:7 to mean that the Flood was universal. It doesn’t take away from the biblical account of Noah’s day whatsoever… a number of biblical scholars… don’t agree on the resolution of the subject. And the language used in the original Hebrew text apparently doesn‘t unequivocally resolve the question, either… I teach a literal worldwide view of what happened in the Genesis Flood. However, neither the Word of God nor my faith is shaken by the other view. And I will not break fellowship with true born-again believers to disagree with me… What’s more important… is this: God is asserting … that He summarily wiped humanity off the face of the ground---wherever they lived… [And] the same elements and attitudes of human life that led up to this devastating form of God’s judgment… will happen again.” (Pg. 150-151)
He states, “The prophetic explosions that have taken place … since that [2012] election… are simply too numerous to recount here. However, an essential short list of the opening harbingers would at least include the five most obvious elements of the Obama-promised ‘fundamental changing of America.’ … Harbinger #1—Borders of Marriage [same-sex marriage]… Harbinger #2---Borders of the Womb [abortion]… Harbinger #3---Borders of Gender… Harbinger #4---Borders of Israel… Harbinger of the Nation [immigration]…” (Pg. 201-209)
He asserts, “Close the churches! Cover your mouths! Don’t sing! Don’t say ‘all lives matter’! … Don’t celebrate the resurrection of Jesus! Don’t celebrate the birth of the church! Going to church is mega dangerous!... It’s ‘unloving’ toward your fellow humans for you to gather in worship! Riots are okay. Casinos are just fine. Big-box stores are perfectly safe. Restaurants, bars, liquor stores, and gymnasiums are okay as well. Just don’t go to church! Is today’s world making a bit more sense now?” (Pg. 260)
Later, he explains, “just a little about the guy you’re getting your information from … I’ve had the honor of being the senor pastor of a church on the Gulf Coast of Florida since 1987. Prior to [that]… I served a little more than ten years in Florida law enforcement… as a deputy sheriff… I take seriously the subject of preparedness…” (Pg. 329)
He also strongly proclaims our right of self-defense: “Yes, it is our responsibility---even our heavenly obligation---to judiciously provide for our own security, especially in matters of life and death. Those under our care are depending upon our faithfulness in this matter.” (Pg. 342)
This book will be of keen interest to Christians seeking to interpret recent events prophetically.

Eye-opening insight of how everyone was led astray and corralled into relinquishing their autonomy without truly analyzing what was actually going on in 2020. The bamboozlement stole so much from us that we have just started to realize how much damage was inflicted. Now that same fervor is about to happen at an escalated pace that we are unprepared for. The Days of Noah was filled with evil and wickedness that was truly staggering and we have underestimated it. Unfortunately it is about to come to our door. This easy-to-read pager turner does an excellent job in trying to prepare the reader for what is about to materialize. As well as equip you with practical strategies to counter and/or confront what is arriving quickly.
