Jerry the Joker has a new girlfriend. He knew Dixie came with baggage. She had been involved in a bank robbery, was on stage as a stripper and second banana to a magician, and had been an extra in B movies. What he didn’t know was that his new squeeze was about to be abducted by aliens, and when she refuses to recant her story, she becomes the target of government assassins, intent on silencing her in order to maintain the government’s official position that there are no such things as extraterrestrial visitors. Walt and his friends inadvertently become involved in the mysteries surrounding crop circles and alien visitation, both ancient and current, and come face-to-face with the possibility that we are not alone in the universe.

Another fascinating story with Walt and the gang. A great cozy mystery that keeps you wondering what trouble they will get into this time and how will they manage to get out of it. Never a dull moment!
Another very good read in the Lady Justice series. I have read all of the books in this series and each one is creative, has a mystery to solve, and has lighthearted humor throughout. Some characters are quirky and add smiles and a bit of laughter to the stories. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
LADY JUSTICE AND THE ABDUCTION By Robert Thornhill
Once again, Robert Thornhill, author of the Walt Williams super-hero series about Lady Justice, takes the reader into the realm of outer-space imagination. Remember the Peach family (mother Elberta, father Madison, sister Bonita, niece Melba--who thinks she is a dog, and Granny Smith—a lover of funerals) who were introduced in Book 42, LADY JUSTICE AND THE BOUNTY HUNTER? Well, they are back! This time, Granny Smith’s oldest daughter, Dixie Red, an aspiring comedienne at the stand-up nightclubs and potential girlfriend of Walt’s friend, Jerry the Joker, is missing. Long story short, Dixie in her youth was unwittingly made the get-away driver for a boyfriend, Sammy Spalitto, who having just gotten out of prison finds Dixie and wants the $30,000 from the holdup. As if untangling that mess isn’t enough, which of course Walt does with the help of Carmen Marchetti (local crime boss) and Ox, Walt’s former partner on the KC Police force, soon Dixie Red has another story to tell, she was abducted by aliens. This story comes to the attention of Homeland Security who seems intent on keeping such stories quiet ever since the supposed crash of an alien spaceship in in 1947 in Roswell, NM and the existence of Area 51 in Nevada where the bodies and ship are supposedly stored since that time. Walt’s half-brother, Mark, comes to investigate and warns Walt and Dixie that she needs to recant her story…or else! Will she? Won’t she? What will happen if she doesn’t? Does the United States government make people “disappear” when they refuse? Will Lady Justice bring about a satisfying end to the story? You’ll need to read this 183-page story to find out! Whether or not the reader believes in life in other universes, and whether said life has visited Earth or not, this story is pure fun to read for all the twists and turns. Thornhill manages to bring together characters from previous stories to round out his cast for this production. So brew up your favorite hot beverage, sit in an easy chair, and enjoy a fun hour or two inside while winter weather does its thing outside. You’ll finish with a smile!
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Okay, so if you completely suspend any sense of rationality or sensibility, this is a really fun book. It was enjoyable, but this is about an ex-police officer investigating a woman who gets abducted by aliens and then almost assassinated by the government. Thornhill has a talent for making an enjoyable book, and Kuch is very good at giving a voice to Walt and the other characters.
Another great addition to the Lady Justice series. Humor, thrills, mystery, and a bunch of friends to fix all that is wrong. The author combines genres, writes a great story, and always brings a five-star read to all. I urge readers to grab this tale and check out the other Lady Justice books as well.
Yeah Walt Williams is back in another humours mystery with the gang. What I like about this series is you never know where the author is going to take you next of what is going to happen but it is sure to make you chuckle. There isn't really any mystery with this story and in fact it is just Walt reacting to the situations his friends girlfriend finds herself caught up in but it is a lot of fun had jokes aside. We have met a lot of the characters in previous books and I really enjoy revisiting with the wonderful Peach family but don't worry if you haven't met them before as the author does a wonderful job of introducing you without it getting boring to someone who has been there from the start. For the first time in there history comedian Jerry wants to introduce his best friend Walt to a woman Dixie Red. She has been a b list actress and is now performing in Jerry's favourite club. In the audience is a few other familiar faces and it turns out the Walt knows the rest of Dixie's family very well and he is about to get to know Dixie better too. After her act she is abducted by a ex friend and it's up to Walt to finder her. The ex boyfriend isn't the only people interested in her after her return she goes missing and Walt and the team get a visit from the men in black. Can Walt kept Dixie off the governments watch list? Or is Jerry's romance about to disappear forever? George Kuch ones again puts in an excellent performance as Walt and his friends and I am so glad he is still reading the series. So glad to read another really cute, fun book in this series. Jerry the Joker finally has a girl friend, Dixie, who is really a character! Not only has she been a stripper, worked with a magician, been in B movies, and is now a comedienne. But wait...now she's been abducted by aliens. Of course, there are lots of happenings and getting in and out of trouble again. I love when Georgia Peach and her grandma are part of the mysteries...and they are back because they are related to Dixie. Just when one thinks there is no way out of Dixie being assassinated by government men in black, there is a great ending. I would recommend reading this book just to find out how! Thanks again for a good read Mr. Thornhill.
Another GREAT adventure for Lady Justice. This one centers around Jerry's new girl friend that gets abducted by aliens ... or does she ... You'll need to read or listen to find out.
( Format : Audiobook ) "The Chosen One." Jeff the Joker has fallen in love with another .performer at the Comedy Club (great excuse for a stream of dreadful jokes). Dixie red, one of the Peach sisters, has led an exotic life but now is back home. With some dubiously acquired money, she's bought herself a double wide 'van on several acres of land back home, intend Io settle down. Then she has a visitor...
Another easy read novella from author Robert Thornhill, narrated by the simply splendid George Kuch. Each book in this superb series has been interesting, intriguing, funny, thought provoking and this one is no exception. Definitely recommended
The first time Dixie was abducted it was by a man who had just been released from prison. There were several times after that and even by those not of this world (well, there were a pair of nutcases as well). I really enjoy this series about Walt (who spent 5 years as a cop after he retired from real estate) and all of his unusual friends. This one is more imaginative than most and I did learn about an interesting organization! I won this in audio and am glad that George Kuch continues to be the narrator.
Lady Justice and the Abduction by Robert Thornhill
In this newest installment of The Lady Justice series Jerry has a new girlfriend, Dixie. She has a bit of an unconventional past, but he finds that appealing. She reveals her story of being abducted by aliens. Walt and friend begin the investigation. And what they are about to uncover is bind-boggling and chilling.
A fast paced story with a great plot and very likable characters. A bit of UFO (sightings) history, interesting photos, danger, suspense and a splash of fun, I was hooked from the first page. I found Lady Justice and the Abduction very enjoyable and highly recommend to those who love mystery and suspense.
Okay, where has Walt and his gang of crazy friends not explored? Well, let's introduce aliens to the mix, hehe. This book is a funny (as always) diversion from our crazy pandemic time. I enjoyed the chance to escape into a different realm. George Kuch once again does an incredible job of bringing Walt and the gang to life. This is the 44th book in the series all are funny and entertaining. Thank you Robert and George for all the hours of fun.
This was an excellent book and I would recommend this book to any one who wants an excellent read. I look forward to reading more of this authors work.
Easy light read with intriguing subject matter of UFOS and alien abductions. Not surprising the lengths the clandestine branch of the "government" goes to to suppress the information or trivialize it.
