---------------------------Spoiler Alert! Spoiler Alert!--------------------------------

Okay. This is going to be a rant. You've been warned. I was annoyed with this book because this "new" fantasy series by Amelia Hutchins (AH) reads like all her other ones. I have read all of AH's books except the Darkest Before Dawn series and I have to say it feels like AH has a formula that she follows to write her books. This "new" series follows the same theme as that of Synthia and Ryder's story in the Fae Chronicles and that annoyed me a lot. I feel like AH just takes the same story but adds new names to the Female Heroine (FH) and Male Heroine (MH). Here it is Alexandria and Torrin. Let me give you some examples to make my point:

1. Alexandria is an assassin for the Moon Clan and she is known to have killed many nightwalkers. She hates and fears nightwalkers. We learn later (by Torrin himself) that nightwalkers are not bad people. They just get a bad rap because the Moon Clan lied to their people and manipulated them to believe that nightwalkers were mindless beings when they were not. They were manipulated to think it was a sickness when it was not. So everything that Alexandria thought she knew about nightwalkers was wrong because the higher-ups at the Moon Clan manipulated and lied to them. Not to mention that she doesn't figure any of this out herself. She learns it all from Torrin. Who does this remind you of? Oh, that's right, Synthia! She was also an assassin who (instead of slaughtering nightwalkers like in this series) slaughtered the fae. She hated and feared the fae. And though they were bad people when in fact they were not. Just people trying to live their best lives. And Synthia was also manipulated (not by the Moon Clan higher-ups in this book) but by the higher-ups at the Guild. And who does Synthia learn this from? Oh, that's right, Ryder! See my point? It's getting a little repetitive, AH.

2. Alexandria in this book ends up being a princess, specifically a Sun Clan princess. What does this remind you of? Oh, that's right, Synthia! Synthia was also a princess, but a Blood Fae Princess. See my point?

3. The FH, Alexandria in this book ends up being kidnapped by the dominant, alpha male, Torrin, in this book just like in the Fae Chronicles where Synthia gets kidnapped by the dominant, alpha male, but instead of Torrin, his name is Ryder. See my point?

4. The MH ALWAYS ends up being the King. Here, Alexandria finds out (not by her own wit, sadly enough) but by being TOLD by Torrin himself that he's the king. So here, Torrin is the King of the Moon Clan. In the Fae Chronicles, Ryder was the Horde King. See my point?

5. The FH ALWAYS ends up being knocked up by the dominant alpha male. It's guaranteed before you even read the first chapter. Here, Alexandria gets knocked up by Torrin. And the child is necessary to end this plague and restore the sun. In the Fae Chronicles, Synthia gets knocked up by Ryder. And the children are necessary to end the plague in the Fae world and restore order. See my point?!

6. Alexandria realizes can never go back to the Moon Clan because she gave Torrin a blow job and how that is a no-no and goes against the rules of the Moon Clan. If she returned, they would kill her. What does this remind you of? Oh, that's right, Synthia! Synthia sleeps with Ryder who is a horde fae and that's a no-no by the Guild rules. So she would be killed too if she returned back to the Guild. That means they are both (Alexandria + Synthia) are stuck at their respective kingdoms (Kingdom of Night + Horde Kingdom), held prisoners by their alpha male lovers (Torrin + Ryder, respectively). Omg, see my point?!

There were many more examples, but I've already written too much and I think you get my point by now. This book feels like a knock off of the Fae Chronicles. There was NOTHING original and unique about this book. No lie, I seriously felt like I was reading Synthia's story but with Moon Clan, instead of the Guild. Also, the world-building needs a lot of work, AH. I was having a hard time imagining this new world she created. What really pissed me off about this book, other than the insane amount of repetitiveness, was the fact that 60% of this book was Torrin trying to get Alexandria back to the Kingdom of Night. They were literally on the road for more than half the book! How crazy is that? Nothing regarding the plot happened for 60% of the whole book! Everything we learned about Torrin being a nightwalker and his men being nightwalkers, how wraiths came to be, Torrin (not Aragon) is actually the king, how Alexandria is actually moon touched/Sun Clan mixed all happened at the last 40% of the book! Can you say, info dump?! Do you know what happens in the first 60% of the book? Alexandria gets fingered by Torrin, period. That's it. She can't come because she's celibate so she just gets fingered, but no release. How stupid is that? I'm sorry, but there was no plot to this story until the last 40%. That annoyed me to no end.

On top of that, Alexandria is celibate for the whole time, faithful to Torrin, but Torrin on the other hand goes and screws a woman in the woods with a glass penis and then kisses Karina when she's first introduced as Torrin's lover and then Torrin has an orgy with Aragon and Karina but says to Alexandria I've never slept with another woman since meeting you. Yeah, okay, but Um... you know there are other ways to cheat and be UNFAITHFUL other than literally screwing someone else. Though Torrin might not have slept with these women, he did engage in sexual, intimate acts with them and that's beyond infuriating. It's one thing to be a dominant alpha male, it's another thing to literally cheat on the girl you say you are interested in right in front of her. He was a man whore through the whole book while poor Alexandria is standing on the side, being celibate. Ha! And the crazy, funny thing is that Alexandria still wants him after seeing all this.

This man, Torrin goes on to insult, degrade and belittle Alexandria and she doesn't even care. She is still willing to sleep with him. Like, wtf is wrong with her? Torrin goes on to say and I quote, "You are nothing to us, Alexandria. Less than nothing to me." And literally, 2 pages later, he is fingering her and she's taking it. Still celibate, mind you. He goes on to insult her some more and tells her and I quote, "Poor Alexandria and her neglected c***, couldn't think past the male who offered her a tiny bit of affection. You're the pathetic one." And a couple of chapters later, she is sleeping with him. I just can't respect a woman who gets insulted and degraded like this by a man and doesn't stand up for herself and gives him a piece of her mind. She just takes it. And she still sleeps with him. It's sad actually. Not the characteristic of a warrior.

It's also so infuriating when the FH is supposed to be badass and cool when in fact, she has no spine and kind of stupid. Sorry, but not sorry. She does not gather intel while being a prisoner in the Kingdom of Night. We never see her trying to plot an escape. We never see her gather intel, use her wits, discover any info regarding Landon or the Sacred Library. She never discretely talks with her sisters and makes a plan to find Landon. She knows there are many prisons in this Kingdom but never tries to gather intel to figure out which one specifically Landon is trapped in. She just randomly picks one prison (at 80% in the book) out of the many and whala! That's the one Landon was at. Like, no! This is so unrealistic and not believable. Like what? There was no rationale as to why they picked that prison. What made that prison seem more likely to hold Landon hostage versus the others? It was just a random pick for them. All in all, she doesn't come off as a leader, a warrior, or a badass to me. She comes off as a damsel in distress that constantly needs Torrin to save her. On more than one occasion Torrin had to give her the antidote when she gets bit by wraiths and about to die. If it wasn't for Torrin giving her those antidotes, she would have died 50% into the book, but here comes Torrin saving the day. And I'm supposed to believe that Alexandria is an independent, fierce warrior? She can't even save her own ass.

Also, the big cliffhanger at the end was predictable and obvious. She finds out that Torrin is actually the king of the kingdom. No surprise there. I predicted that in Chapter 1. And then Torrin has to tell her by the way, I knocked you up. Which was no surprise there either. Since we were told this would happen in the Prologue. So the cliffhanger wasn't unique at all and felt repetitive to me.

Don't get me wrong. I've read the majority of AH's book. And I used to LOVE them! I really did! No lie. But it feels like she has already collected a tribe of followers that would read anything she puts out so I feel like she stopped trying to write good books. Her books are getting more and more repetitive and predictable. And I just can't anymore. If this continues and her books are still like this, then I have to call it quits. I just can't anymore. That's just my opinion and I know others might feel otherwise and that's okay. We're all entitled to our own opinion.

2.5 stars.

A "new" fantasy series. There's magic I think, but unsure, it's vaguely spoke of. There's creatures, nightwalkers, different clans.
And all sorts of mystery. I closed this book completely confused about this new world. The anti-hero was a douchebag, I like douchebags, ok. I just couldn't get on board with this one. The last three books I've read from Amelia Hutchins have been similar. I do love enemies-to-lovers, bantering, push and pull, battle of wills, etc. That's why I'm rating this 3 stars. However, the characters are blurring together with every book I read. The storylines, too. A king, a queen, a war over past tragedy. A heat cycle that can't be controlled.
Shaking my head. Either I need to take a break, or this story is being recycled in many forms.

The Good
The concept – I did like this whole concept, with the light verses dark and how the Moon Clan had powered related to the waning and waxing of the moon cycle. I also liked that the curse idea at the start, this allows a bit of tension in ‘ooo how will they manage to break this curse if someone has to die. Who will the mate be?’ etc etc.

The cover
Oh boy, love it.

The Bad
Somebody buy this lady a thesaurus
My goodness, please stop using the same words over and over again in the same paragraphs. If I read another sentence with ‘kitty’ and ‘cream’ in it again I may have vomited.

Contradictions
The main leads who character never seemed to stick to her guts in this book, one moment being all ‘I'm celibate because of this tragic and totally not fleshed out back story’ to ‘please screw me verbally and physically abusive hot man with big cock’. The writer makes a big deal of how the Moon Clan are culturally free with their bodies and that they’re okay with members of both genders sleeping around and doing what they like; then soon after has the lead getting offended that the bloke might think she’s a slut for sleeping with him.
The celibacy thing is a big deal in the story line when it comes to the lead’s interactions with Mr Abusive but at the end just gives up on the whole thing. If her friends dying meant so much to her up to this point, what is going on here??

Unnecessarily hiding things from the reader
This is only a small thing, but some things in the plot were only revealed to the reader as the characters found out about them. Normally I totally get this, but some things could have been revealed earlier on to build some tension before the characters themselves found out; at the end of the story when all of the secrets came to light it was just way too much all at once.

That ending
There is so much wrong with the final few chapters where the whole truth comes out and its all a big mess. Too much was squashed into this part of the story and none of its really makes sense.

The Ugly
The description, or lack of
In some instances the authors description of the world around them was pretty good, especially when it came to the two main characters, albeit the focus was very much on how beautiful and pretty and muscular they both were. There was also an attempt to describe some of the places they visited along the way, although this was few and far between.
Things that we didn’t get a description of and I wish we did:
• Her assassin group – how many of them were there? At first she only mentions the three named assassins, but later they ‘lose seven’ in a fight with wights. Who was this? Why weren’t they described?
• Chivalry – we know he’s got a blond mane, but not much else. Also, while I appreciate that him being able to transform was supposed to be a big surprise for Mr Abusive at the end, this fact didn’t need to be kept from the reader.
• Aragon and the rest of those at the castle – while a brief description was given, this was very vague and unless I missed something I have absolutely no idea what Aragon looked like. Considering at the point he was introduced he was the King and the reader was in the dark about the truth you can’t skip over this. There was also this grand ball scene, and apart from some tit bits, we learn nothing real about this.
• The lands they travel through – ditto, about from brief mentions, nothing. They pass through several villages full of different dark beings and we just.
• The Moon Clan – apparently they have powers, related to the moon. Couldn’t tell you anything else which is a damn shame. Also there’s this whole thing where they can be ‘called’ by the moon to procreate and its painful if they don’t, but this is so poor elaborated on I’ve got no idea what’s going on here.
• The monsters – the whole premise is that the world is now full of new monsters. TELL ME MORE.

The pace
My goodness. The pace in this is breakneck, skipping from one poorly fleshed out scene to another. One minute they’re having dinner, then the lead is being dragged to the room and we get waaaayyyy too may pages on this, then suddenly we’re diving into poisonous water and being frozen by wights. What happened here?! Wow nelly, slow down and flesh some of this stuff out, the reader is getting whip lash. The whole story does goes from dodgy consent scene to dodgy consent scene, with none of the focus being on the story itself.

The actual mission
I’m pretty sure at the start of the book the lead was heading out to find her brother. No? So she gets captured, but apart from trading verbal abuse with her captor appears to make no real attempts to escape and continue trying to find her brother. Then at the end they do finally try and escape and there’s this very silly scene where they tie up all the villains and travel all the way through the castle with no issues, find their fancy horses and jump off some fricking cliff. Then they magically find the right prison that her brother is in and break in with no issue, after spending zero time trying to gain any information from Mr Abusive or his crew on where her brother is or which of the many prisons he’s in.

Oh boy, that relationship
So basically, they treat each other like absolute sh*t and there is verbal, physical and sexual abuse, but the author makes it out like this is still a sound reason for this couple to get it on. She builds this story that the lead likes a bit of pain with her sex but hangs onto this soooooooo hard as Mr Abusive slaps her around with his massive cock. The authors absolutely and irrevocably clings to the idea that because she’s celibate and likes a bit of pain that the lead clearly ‘needs’ to have her poor, neglected vagina pounded.
What makes this whole situation even worse is that her friends encourage the whole thing. What kind of friends are these? Seriously, they know exactly how Mr Abusive is treating her and keep telling her to ‘get the cream’ or some other vomit worthy expletive. Her whole band are also sleeping with Mr Abusive’s crew, as if this is a totally normal thing to do.
At no point in the story do any of the characters, main or supporting, warm to each other. There is no nice sentiment at all in this story. In other similar pieces at least, the relationship is slightly believable because the characters start to see some positives in the other or there is some instance where they need to work together, allowing that relationship to develop. Here, nothing. They just bounce from one hostel to another while the girls are ‘captured’ and f*^k around.

The characters
Literally I don’t know where to begin. They are just so stupid. Alexa is supposed to be a chosen and trained leader of her band of assassins, kissing as* and taking names. Instead she’s just super dumb, constantly making terrible decisions and gets herself and her ‘friends’ into worse trouble. She does stay a bit feisty throughout, but this is weak and pathetic, making her out to just want Mr Abusive’s attention and did I mention he has a big cock? She wants that too because she’s totally forgotten about her sick missing brother. Totally normal behaviour.
As for Mr Abusive. I appreciate he’s supposed to be a controlling as*, but that it as deep as his character goes. There’s absolutely zero backstory to him and we learn nothing else about him other than in relation to his junk. He makes no attempt to build an actual real relationship with his captive, especially as we later learn his real nature – I really struggle to believe that he risked his entire world to find his mate, then when they finally meet we have this.

Bit rape-y
Gah. Another story full of rapey bits because ‘the character wants it really’. There’s even an instance where she actually says no and he carries on, because her neglected pus*y right? Totally okay. Mr Abusive makes her believe that all his attention is valid because she’s wet for him.

Overall
This story was so confusing. There’s this whole new world I really wanted to learn about, with an interesting backstory and lore to go with it. Unfortunately, we get literally none of this as the author decided that the lead breaking her celibacy vow with some douche is more important that any of what she’s hinted at. This story had so much potential and I kept reading hoping it would appear on the pages, so this is a real shame.

‘Moon Kissed’ is book one in Amelia Hutchins’ Within The Darkness series. If your familiar with Ms Hutchins’ writing you know she writes Alpha-holes with Kicka** Heroines and this book is no exception.

Alexandra is on a mission to find her brother Landon and the Hidden Library. When her and her group of Moon Kissed Warriors are captured by Torrin and his men, with orders to bring her to the King of the Night Kingdom. Lexia must play along as the damsel as Torrin and the King know where her brother is and the only way to get them is to be taken to the Night Kingdom. But there is more to both Lexia and Torrin, both have secrets about who and what they are.

This book is full of angst, drama, kicka** fights, banter and hot and steamy moments between Lexia and Torrin. Although this is a full length book, I felt it went by to quickly. There is so many questions and so few answers, but what do you expect from Amelia Hutchins’ she is the QUEEN of mystery.

Moon Kissed is set in its own universe and has no connections to any of Ms Hutchins’ previous books and series. If you haven’t read anything by this author, then you need to stop whatever it is you are doing and go look her up. I recommend starting with The Fae Chronicles and reading it is order before starting with her Nine Realms series. As the Fae Chronicles will feel like child’s play compared to the Nine Realms.

Fantastic!!!!

Oh my, Amelia wrote another book with characters I am OBSESSED with. Absolutely incredible, I want a second book already.... LOL.
Honestly Amelia is probably the most creative writer I have come across as of yet. That’s saying something, as I have read a LOT of books by different authors. With Amelias writing you get thrown into the characters, you feel their happiness, sadness, anger, fear, betrayal etc. Read the book. Then after read ALL of her other books. She is a brilliant writer.

This was a good book. I felt some of the events were a little repetitive but it was a good book and I’m happy this author started a new world.

Whewwwww

I couldnt put it down, while I was at work all I received was dirty looks from my boss because while I should have been giving work my full attention I just COULDNT.STOP.READING. So with that being said I did the only logical thing I could do, which is ignore my boss and keep reading
😂😂
I loved the characters, the heroine Alexandria is every bit the badass I would expect from Amelia Hutchins which is honestly one of my favorite qualities about her writing. I really cant stand a weak heroine and she ALWAYS delivers. Torrin, the male lead was sexy as hell and a bit darker then my typical taste but I'm excited to learn more about him. This book was steamy as hell, but has a great storyline to it and lots of action which is another thing I greatly admire about her books and I am extremely excited for this new world and storyline she is laying out for us! I'll be counting down the days til book 2.

What a cliffy

Ugh just when it got real good book we are left with a cliffhanger.

Torrin sets out to bring Alexandria to the King, however she's unaware he is the king.
Once he sees her markings he understands who she is. She's of light and he is of night.

For some reason getting into this book took me a while.
Alexa is sassy and great
Tor is a big Alphahole
But I found the story quite confusing and wasn’t until the 60% of the book when i was really into the book
The end...🤯🤯 I need book two. What a way of ending the book.

This book was absolutely phenomenal! This was my first book by Amelia Hutchins and most definitely will not be my last!

This story was full of action, mystery, suspense, and intrigue. It captivated me from the very first page. Pulled into the stories depths. Following the trail of darkness,
fallen kingdoms, and blood-thirsty creatures. And don’t even get me started on the insane chemistry and sexual tension between Torrin and Alexandria. Amelia Hutchins can definitely write steamy scenes y’all and I.AM.HERE.FOR.IT! Their connection from the very beginning begged me devour every word.

The storyline that Amelia so intricately weaved was incredible! So original and unique that I was drawn to the phenomenally built world, the kingdoms, the magic and the characters. All of it came together for a story that completely blew me away and left me desperately craving book 2!

It's good, but it's just like every other book she's written!
SHE RECYCLES THE EXACT SAME STORIES, WITH DIFFERENT NAMES!
Even the twists are the same!
It starts to get old!

This series will be the death of me.. until the next one 💜

Amelia I can't even say you've done it again because you'll laugh and dance and bathe in my tears! You take shots of them while writing your addicting cocaine infused words. And you'll go to sleep happy and wake up to to write the next one. Anyone who has not experienced Amelia's words is a damned fool.

Brilliant, Enticing, and fun

Amelia is a great writer one of my faves. Aria and Torrin are two commanding characters. Opposites in every way but destined to either save their world or destroy it with fiery and fierce passion.

Holy crap

Well Holy freaking crap!!!! That was some ride. I am in awe of Amelia once again. This start to a new series is freaking spectacular. Hands down spectacular at that. It has such a dominating allure. It gives me everything that Amelia is known for plus so much more. Torrin is my dominant master!!!! I'd submit to him any day, anytime, and any place. I can not wait for the rest of this series to come out.

Omg just finished moon-kissed by Amella Hutchins loved all the twists and turns, sexual tension in this book you feel the Characters happiness, sadness, anger, fear, betrayal and confussion.
This is the seconded book i read by Amella Hutchins the frist book i tryed to read was Inmortal Hexes but i couldnt get in to the book at all but even tho i couldnt get into the frist book dosnt mean you wont enjoy over books the author writen reson why i always try to read more than one book by new authors to me and im so glad i did as Moon-Kissed grad me from start to finish.
It starts with a curse that the King of nights creats while reading from the book of the dead with the world going into darkness and a sickness called moon sickness that the people of the light are falling from. Alexandrice who is a kickass leander and a assassin of the moon clan, who is on a mission to find the library that house the book of life to cure the moon sickness only to get captured by the legendary warrior Torrin of the night clan OMG I love his dominat and cockyness so much. This is a most read and is smoking hot.

Okay so I’m a HUGE Amelia fan... her writing style is on point and it’s so easy to fall into the worlds she creates. However, with this book, I couldn’t find the plot in between the sex scenes. I’m all for a good naughty scene (and Amelia writes them so beautifully) but I had such a hard time with this book! I usually like my novels to have good steamy scenes secondary to the plot, but this one definitely had them take precedence. If that’s your cup of tea, go for it, (you won’t be disappointed by her writing) but it’s just not mine!

LOVED IT

I LOVED Moon Kissed so much, It's very different than Amelia's other books!!The world is amazing with all kinds of creatures and kick butt leads! I love the idea of being moon kissed, of light and dark, what we think is good and bad. Moon Kissed is definitely very hot n steamy, off the charts hot!! there was all kinds of action and creepy moments that kept me in the book!! I can't wait to read the second book when it comes out, another winning series to be my Amelia.

everything is vague at best, and the MC of each AH books are starting to get repetitive, I wouldn't judge this series on the first book. since this is just the introduction.

hopefully we get more of the world instead of the back and forth power trip our MC indulge in

Adult fantasy, 18 + explicit content

Well,
I’m shocked to say that it’s the first book by Amelia Hutchins that I didn’t like... I’m usually so over the moon from everything that she writes... is it perfect? Hell no, but it’s always addictive, hot and with a smart and complex plot! I wasn’t too much into the Fae chronicles but it is still well written with a complex and interesting plot. The 9 realms is one of my best discovery of this year, I’ve read them around January and since then I’ve read pretty much everything that she has written but this book? Such a let down, I love her Alphahole male character and it’s usually pretty well balanced with a kickass, powerful and smart female lead character but Alexandria is boring, cliché and so much lacking compare to the likes of Aria, Remi or even Synthia! Torrin is lame, despicable, mean and without the backstory to soothes his assh*le way, I don’t even understand why he was so dense, it’s hard to not compare him with Knox or Ryder because he was exactly the same but meaner and lamer, Knox is an assh*le but we get it because of his backstory, and Ryder softened after a while, but this guy torrin? He is a creep, seriously, I didn’t felt any attraction between the main characters, the story was complicated, long, with a good world building but fucking boooooring!
I’m stopping right there because I don’t have anything nice to say, but frankly ? Don’t bother with this book,
Read anything else by her tho, she is amazing

As with all of the books I’ve read by Amelia Hutchins, I enjoyed this book. There are many similarities to her other books, yet the story doesn’t come across as something I’ve read before. I knew who Tor was the entire time, I’d guessed that from his and Alexandria’s first meeting. I guess it was implied from the prologue, as the seer said he’d meet his mate (I assumed it was a king the seer was talking to) as she passed through the mountains, she didn’t say someone would meet her and bring her to him. I did not see the shapeshifting horses coming, and got confused when Alexia escaped to the stables and the horse started talking to her. But that was soon cleared up. Then how Tor sent an antidote to fix her while she was running from him, yet she still thought he would kill her. The whole pregnancy with a heartbeat after less than 24hrs confuses me, but it’s a magical world so I’ll let that one pass. Then the fact that Alexia continues on her quest despite the fact she knows her people will shun her and her team for sleeping with the enemy shows what a true queen she is. Can’t wait for more!

I saw another review which said Amelia follows the same plot lines/themes with every book, and I have to say the were right. I usually like her alpha-holes, but I did not like this one. I usually don't like my MMC being with other females (not the love interest) and he was doing that for most of the book. As the FMC said he was a slut, and it irritated me that he didn't realize they were I really dislike the pregnancy trope in this book, it was hinted at in the prologue but it really rubbed me the wrong way

Whoa! Scorcher Alert!

Amelia writes strong badaxx women and their alphahole counterparts. The men are dominant, strong, and brutal.. The women are sexy, alluring, and feisty. The Moon Clan creates assassins and Alexandria leads her women only group on a mission. First she must find her brother and The Library that houses the Book of Life. To do this she must follow the path her brother took to find Landon, only she encounters her enemy, the legendary warrior Torrin. A curse that needs to end from the King of Night's reading from the Book of the Dead. We journey through Lexia's perspective as she gets halfway through her quest. She finds her brother and gets a shock of a lifetime. I'm curious what action our heroine will do next to get out of her newest predicament. I hope there is a book 2. A great read!

Yes, thank you. This book didn't disappoint.
Faery has been my favorite escape from reality for years, and I am happy to get, not one (the Nine Realms), but two new worlds to dive into.

Moon-Kissed was quite fast-paced and I felt it would have been nice to get to know the world a bit better. Especially, since this was high fantasy, starting in a world that didn't resemble our reality at all.
In addition I could have hoped for a less predictable ending, no way would the alpha male in Amelia's books let someone else touch their mate. So, since it was obvious that Alexandria was the long lost mate, you could also deduce that Torrin is the king.

Regardless, this was a five star read for me and I felt that it was an exiting, compact package, that I couldn't stop reading. I will definitely read it again and cannot wait to get to continue this series.

Another great Hutchins book!

This author knows how to weave a compelling story. I love her stories and the chemistry amongst her characters. If I have any criticism, it’s that she uses so many “cheating” and humiliation scenarios which I really don’t like (i.e., the hero/antihero has a harem of chicks he’s doing on the side and then he actually wasn’t or when the heroine hears him talking $hit about her to others). Not sure why that’s necessary and these things happen in most of her books. The author has so many books out that she leaves on cliff hangers, that we’re left wondering when the next one is coming. I’ve been waiting a very long time for some and haven’t heard anything is on the horizon. Still, I have to rate it high because beyond those things, it’s so good!! I really wish the next book was available!!

This one was disappointing. It's the same story as like 3 of her other series. Guy lies about identity, turns out to be the one supposed big bad the MC feared, some kind of weird magical thing leads to dubious consent, MC turns out to be secret princess, special fetus needed to save the world, etc. What I really disliked about this one is that the MC is supposed to be this big badass warrior, but she lost ALL autonomy the second she is abducted by some attractive dude with a big ol' dong. She was beyond weak and honestly, really dumb. It's just incredibly unbelievable. You can say a character is whatever you want them to be.

I adored Amelia Hutchins first couple of series and keep holding out hope that what I loved about those stories will return, but I'm no longer holding my breath bc this b is going to murder me if I do it any longer.

The BEST so far ! I am obsessed with and have ready every book Amelia Hutchins has written, but this is my first written review. This book, by far, is my favorite of hers to date. It is HOT, HOT, HOT and steamy ! It is a wild ride, never ending action/adventure until you get to "The end FOR NOW".
I loved Alexandria and although the 'twist' I had anticipated, the story kept me riveted.
I loved the relationship Alexandria had with Chivalry, her horse. Being a horse lover since a small child, I was thrilled with the interactions between the two. That was most unexpected ! I devoured this book in less than a day, putting off all 'adulting' responsibilities just to be able to read more. I cannot wait for the continuation of this series.
