The Ties That Bind

As the Davis’s add to their family in this book, I am once again blown away by the depth of love of family these characters portray. Just when you think this series can’t get any better then it has been, something else happens to blow your mind and melt your heart! Another 5 ⭐️ read!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

5 Star Review of The Ties That Bind (Brie’s Submission #22) by Red Phoenix

Where do I start? Red Phoenix has done is again. Often when there are so many books in a series, you worry that the stories will not draw you in. With this series, nothing could be further from the truth, each new book gets better and better.
There are so many twists and turns woven into this story that I was on the edge of my seat whilst reading. I love the strength, courage and support that Sir's love has given Brie and it is obvious in the growth that Brie has gone through during the series.
As Brie, Sir and their friends come to terms with loss, they welcome the newest member to the Davis family. It was wonderful to catch up with the other characters who have helped to bring so much depth and emotion to this wonderful series.
Sir and Brie continue to give back to the Submissive Training centre. There is plenty of heat in this emotional story but there is such an amazing depth of love that I was brought to tears.

What an absolutely amazing storyline! 'The Ties That Bind' is book 22, yes, I said 22, in the epic "Brie's Submission" by Red Phoenix. If you've read any of Ms. Phoenix's work, then you know what to expect. If you haven't, which for the life of me I can't imagine why not, then let me explain. We've watched from the very beginning when Brie was a naïve young lady with a curiosity for BDSM grown into a strong, intelligent, successful, and beautiful woman in her own right who has whole-heartedly given her complete submission to her Dominant, Sir Thane. That being said, we've also watched Sir grow into himself, not only as a Dom, but as a loving, giving, caring, and fully confident man. Life has not always been easy for the Davis household and yet Red Phoenix has brought to life, for many of us, the definition of a D/s relationship at its finest. Even after 22 books, I can't seem to get enough of this magnificent couple nor their circle of friends from the Submissive Training Center. Each story is new and fresh plus there isn't one, this one included, that hasn't touched me down to my soul. I just loved it!!

I received an ARC of this book and this is an honest review.

First, this wasn't a book at all, more like a novella, and the book itself, the story, did not live up to the hype in the blurb at all. There wasn't anything earth shattering, and honestly, I had trouble with about half the book because it was unrealistic. Tono is ill, then Tono isn't ill, or at least he's performing and flying to see Brie. Wrap up Lilly already. You've made her into a monster, but it really needs to be the end of the story. It is no longer believable. Brie wasn't attacked. She was negotiating and the negotiations failed. That was the only "attack" I could see. And the rest? The awards ceremony? Not at all believable, and difficult for me to get through.

The dialogue is beginning to revert back to the beginning of the series. Everyone talks in the same way, the dialogue is stilted, and honestly, tough to imagine this being anything near to real life.

This read more like a novella written to join two real-length novels together. It contained no new plot lines, and sounded like the series is finally winding down. There's only so much you can do unless you begin to write more protagonists into the story. It was Brie, and I love the series, but it needed a LOT more punch to make it outstanding, or to even equal the blurb. 2-1/2 Stars. I'm sorry but I want to see this series step up and reach higher than it is right now.

The Ties that Bind, Brie's Submission #22 by Red Phoenix
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
Oh man, this series is just what my heart needs. It is always the perfect blend of all love, hearts and happiness mixed with sexy times, twists and villains!!
This book picks up with the loss from the last book. GAH, I’m still just as broken up now as I was then. But we are moving forward with protecting everyone from Lilly, destroying Greg, saving Mary, plus the birth of the newest Davis member.
So much happens in the story. I loved seeing Tono and Autumn. I want to know what’s up with Lea and Hunter? Will Todd ever be ok again? Is our favorite Russian going to be back soon? But mainly what is going on with the movie!!! The storyline of Brie’s movie was the biggest storyline, and I was so excited about it. I mean what are they going to do about Greg and his control over Hollywood. Plus, what can Brie do to move her documentary forward without Hollywood support since she had been blacklisted.
But of course, the story of the love between Brie and Sir is always showcased. I loved their trip back to the training center to help submissives understand a healthy D/s relationship. It’s like coming full circle for them and where they started.
The birth of the newest member was beautiful. I loved everything about it. I will not even begin to think about spoilering anything but the name made my heart melt right along with the everyone else’s reaction to it.

Gang, she's done it again... Red Phoenix has added to the Brie's Submission series again and brough us a book with so much heart in -
TIES THAT BIND
Now if you've been following my blog for more than a hot minute you'll already know what a HUGE Red Phoenix fan I am. As far as I'm concerned the woman can do no wrong. And this book is just another step into the HELL YES! side of the world. What started life as a single little book about a woman's first shy steps into the world of BDSM has grown into pretty much the best series I've ever read and has taken on a life and a devoted reading audience all of its own.

These books are less stories of 'naughtiness' now and more stories of love and strength and every word comes from the depth of Red's heart. I'm not ashamed to admit I was crying from page 2 - yep it's like that, and I kept crying throughout. In the early stages of the series life you 'needed a towel' due to the sex scenes, and while these are still hotevery time, I spend less time focusing on the kink and more on the love, loss and friendships that encompass each book... And you still need a towel it's just better for crying clean up than, ahem, any other kind.

Brie and her friend/familites story continues as fresh today as it did back when it was merely 'Brie Learns the Art of Submission' and Red's muses willing it will continue for a long and heartfelt time to come.

Another look into the lives of Sir and Brie. On that is full of happenings. Brie is in her last trimester of pregnancy, Rytsar is ready to leave for Russia with Faelen, to make sure Lily is contained, and Faelen to heal from the death of his wife. His daughter is left with Celestia and Marquis Gray until his return.

At the beginning, Brie is outside when black vehicles roll up in front of their home. She runs to tell Sir, and he sends her to Rytsar who hides her in his safe room. The intruders turn out to be people who represent someone who wants to help her release her second documentary. This is the beginning of a journey she’s been longing for, but will it actually happen? You’ll have to read it to find out!

There are many things happening in the world of The Submissive Training Center! Every single thing happening in this book, has a road of its own to go down to add to the journey. I can’t wait for the next chapters!!

Red Phoenix’s Submissive Training Books are an excellent set of books to read. They are real and portray a lifestyle that gets a lot of bad press. Her writing is from a place of knowledge and experience. One can only hope they defined a live like Brie and Sir, Celestia and Marquis Gray, Captain and Candy, and all of the other couples in the Training Center World have. In a world where distrust and divorce are rampant, to portray love like these people have is like a breath of fresh air. Thank you Red Phoenix, for sharing these with us!

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.
Red has such an amazing way of telling Bri’s story. The love that all these friends have for one another is incredible. If someone needs help, they are all there ready to pitch in no matter what.
Bri has so many things going on and with her big heart she wants to help everyone. There is so much going on in this book. We are picking up where the last book left off. Man, there are so many pieces to pick up right now after the loss they all endured. Poor Todd he deserves so much more right now.
Bri is dealing with her new movie and wondering if it will get a chance to be on the big screen. Also, she has her unborn baby to think about. Bri still has Lilly on her mind and what will happen there.
Rystar maybe a sadist but he has a heart of gold and will do anything for any of them. There are so many amazing scenes in this book not just between Bri and Sir but more so everyday interactions between all of them. It was so good to see Tono & Autumn. I am intrigued with Lea and Hunter too.
This group of friends show us that family is not always blood but how you let into your circle of the best most supportive family anyone can ask for. I always feel home with this family and I’m so ready for more. I need to know how things will go for Todd, how will the Lilly thing work out and will Gregg try to sabotage Bri more and wonder if Sir and Bri will do more demonstrations to help subs understand the true D/s dynamic.

Heartfelt, emotional, beautiful, powerful.

This might be the 22nd book in the Brie's Submission series but it feels fresh, exciting and anything but dull and the same ole thing. Once again we are drawn into the lives of our favorite couple and their amazing group of friends who feel more like an extended family. So much is going on Brie is in her third trimester waiting on the arrival of their second child. They are all still reeling from the lose of Faelan's wife Kylie and how he is spiralling into darkness. The pending departure of Rytsar and Faelan to Russia to deal with Lilly and hopefully help Faelan come to terms with his grief. Brie is still trying to get her documentary produced with the threat of Holloway still lurking around the corner. With all of that we get to catch up with our friends and get an insight to what's happening in their lives. Oh and lets not forget we get some of Lea's famous jokes and that sexy Russian is one kinky yummy goodness! I laughed, I cried, I cheered, and oh yes I still needed a cold drink and shower. There is so much I need to know.... will Faelan pull himself out of the darkness to be there for his daughter, what's up with Lea and Hunter, Tono and Autumn, will Holloway seek revenge, will Sir go back to teaching? I can't wait to see where their story goes next.

4⭐ The first book in the series that I read that wasn’t a part of a 3 book “set.” I guess I have to read them as separate books from now on!
There were more things that I didnt like in this book than previous ones. Even though there’s a bunch of good stuff, and it’s still spicy 🌶 🌶🌶🌶, I’ll go through a few things I didn’t care for.
I don’t like the Greg/documentary plot line. I feel like I’m missing something. Why does he have such a vendetta against her? It doesn’t connect for me. Is he just an asshole? It feels like more but I don’t think we’ll get more. Like what’s going on with Mary??
Also, the Lilly plot is getting out of haaaaaaand, and really unrealistic making harder to believe and remain in the story. I think that plot is over and done with and it’s feeling forced.
I wish there would have been some explanation on how Brie and Thane had to abstain from sex after each birth. There wasn’t really a timeline given for when they could physically connect again after the births. I figured that would have been a part of their story since it connects birth/recovery with their lifestyle/sex. She did this well during Brie’s pregnancy so I also expected postpartum as well. It even felt like maybe there wasn’t any waiting since it wasn’t ever explained.
Worth the read?: YES
Reread?: Maybe

All the gang and a kinky Russian

I received an ARC of this book and have volunteered to leave a review.

The Ties That Bind is the 22nd book in the Brie's Submission Series and thankfully, the series shows no signs of running out of gas anytime soon.

As fun as it would be to review this story act by act - and those scenes, they are everything Red Phoenix fans love - I want to highlight a reoccurring theme in this series, and especially in this book; submission is not an act of weakness.

That theme is front and center in The Ties That Bind. All the problems that the world brings to the Davis's doorstep may try to derail them but their strength as a couple and in their own rights as people is what carrys them through both the lows and highs of their relationship.

Brie's submission is not that of a weak women. She is smart, educated, talented, successful and beautiful, and her submission to Sir is very much a gift of herself, her love and trust. But that isn't the end of the exchange. Sir is a powerful man, and his acceptance and honoring of her submission is an acknowledgement of Brie's power, a promise to her and to all that Brie is. It's very much a two way street. Sir's strength is that he's not shy about his commitment and all that it entails. That is what separates him from the wannabe doms. That comes across so clear in this book. There is no place for weakness - of the submissive OR of the Dom - in a D/s relationship. Every scene between Sir and Brie is a love letter showcasing this dynamic. It's powerful. It's loving. It's very very, sexy.

Those highs and lows that the world brings to their door? - yes, they're always present. There's the sweetness of life that these two have built for themselves, as well as the trials ahead that they have yet to face. Some are even frightening. But Brie and Sir will get by with the help and support of their friends and family. Along with some Lea jokes! And of course, a kinky Russian!

Red Phoenix gives us another snapshot of life within the Submissive Training Center family with The Ties That Bind & it was worth the wait. Brie Davis is such an amazing character that has grown from naive into strong enough to walk away from a deal that could have been remarkable for her career; what fabulous growth Ms. Phoenix has given us in this woman!

We also have seen Brie's relationship with Sir Thane grow with his amazing support and guidance. Their love is just extraordinary and very much something every woman would desire in or out of a D/s relationship. The depth of their relationship shows in the small moments of making cocoa, to big moments of the impending birth of their second child. And of course, my favorite book boyfriend of all Anton Rytsar Durov is along to make a few scenes magical, sweet, & absolutely breathtaking.

As always though it's not always a single focus for this series; we are thrust back into the lives of all the members of the Training Center crew. I love that in just a few hundred pages we are able to touch on so many lives, so many hot moments we expect from Ms. Phoenix. I am always grateful when she gives a moment with these beautiful characters. Until next time!

Love this series

What can I say about this book…. Red you have done it again I loved this book and I know people may think how can people still be invested with 22 books plus the spin offs Rise of the Dominants etc but it’s just not enough for me as I’m so invested in all these characters.
I didn’t think I could love Sir anymore than I did in previous books but DAMN that man just gets better and better he is my favourite Dom.
However Rytsar is a close second as the love he has for Sir, Brie and their kids is amazing but I did kinda miss me some Master Anderson in this one as he is so lovable.
I loved how strong and steadfast Brie was in her decision and it paid off but I’m worried about Mary.
It was great seeing Tono return and please make everything ok for him and my heart breaks for Todd 😭
Rytsar will be good for Todd and I feel he will come back better and stronger under Rytsar’s guidance and influence.
I have loved this story but I have to say I love all the characters that have appeared throughout the series, so many amazing characters forming a well balanced family who support each other through everything (except Lily) damn that woman is just all wrong in many ways.
Thanks again and I can’t wait for book 23 and Master Anderson’s next book.

Oh my goodness, Red Phoenix, what you do to me with Rytsar, Thane, and Brie.
As the birth of the next Davis baby approaches, emotions are running high, and fear hits everyone in the aftermath of the last precious babies birth. While I suspected everything would be okay, my own anxiety went up a few levels, knowing that Brie’s was as well.
Preparing to head to Russia to deal with Lilly, Rytsar and Brie get an extra chance at a goodbye, thanks to a stranger danger scare. I love how much Rytsar loves Brie, and how open and welcoming Sir is to it.
We get to welcome the newest member of the Davis family and as always we have one very excited Dyadya, who finds a way to stay a part of it all. My heart once again pitterpats for our Russian Sadist.
I really hope Rytsar can bring Faelan back to everyone, especially baby Grace.
I enjoyed getting to catch up with Tono and Autumn. I worry so much for Tono and Autumn both. I do hope to see more of them in the future.
And the fireworks with Mr. Holloway and Brie!! It is quite a show. I love how the whole situation was handled, but I find myself worrying once again about Mary, even though she has the whole STC at her back.
Now I have to wait for the next one!!!

What will she come up with next?

The Ties That Bind is book twenty-two in the Brie's Submission series and somehow Red Phoenix still manages to keep her series just as fresh as ever. Each book is better than the last and I can never get enough of these characters. It's always great to drop in on the Submissive Training Centre crew.

As the birth of the next Davis baby approaches, emotions are running high and old enemies threaten the Davis family once again. But with the help of their friends and family they'll weather the storm and come through the other side stronger than ever.

Get ready for a bunch of fun cameos from the entire crew and tons of sinfully sweet scenes. There are so many wonderful moments in this book that will really resonate with you and leave you gasping for air.

While this book can be read as a standalone, you will enjoy it much more if you've read even a few of the previous books. I can't recommend Red Phoenix's books more because she never fails to deliver a steamy, suspenseful, hilariously-eventful good time that pulls you in from the very first line. I can't wait to see what happens next in this series and I just know it'll be fantastic.

I received a copy of this book for the purpose of a review.

Looking for a HOT summer read....well look no further!!! This will melt your beach towel!!

As a reader when you get to book 6 or 7 of a series you begin to wonder if this is being overdone, overplayed, will run its course....let me assure you that with THIS series it isn't close to happening!! With each book now I open it and wonder if it is going to start lagging in content or intensity and by the time I finish the book I reach the end and am left wanting more!!! This author knows how to naturally flow the storyline so that you pick up and you ride the waves of emotions right along with each character!!!

The dynamic between Brie and Sir not only as a BDSM couple but as husband and wife are what we look for as true bonds and connection. This series is the most accurate portrayal of what a true BDSM dynamic should be. Honesty, trust, consent, and above all respect.

I am in awe of the talent of this amazing author. I look forward to the honor of reading much much more of her books in the future! You won't want to miss it!! You won't be disappointed at all!

I received an ARC copy of this book. I am extremely honored to be able to read this book ahead of the release.

I had been waiting, maybe not so patiently for The Ties That Bind after Her Sweet Surrender and it did not disappoint one bit.

Red Phoenix has done it yet again. At book 22 in the series, it doesn’t feel like it is dragging on. Instead, side stories continue, new issues and events arise and it progresses naturally. This book pulls you in, satisfies your need and leaves you wanting more, yet you are held over until the next book.

I laughed, cried, yelled out in frustration and road a roller coaster of emotions through this book.

The love between Sir, Brie and even Rytsar is absolutely heartwarming and explosive. Sir and Brie are complete with each other, however adding Rytsar into the mix makes them whole. I cannot wait for the next book to see all the trials and tribulations the characters go through, grow through and find their strength within themselves and each other.

This book!! WOW!! I've read it twice and I'm still stumbling over the emotions this story continues to bring. From page one my heart was pounding as story unfolded and dragged me along with it. The love and commitment Thane and Brie have is so heartwarming. And of course our favorite Russian added to the mix is pure perfection. It was so much fun to read about Rytsar and his men as they were trying to rid his house of the prank bombs. Brie is still working on getting her second documentary in production. She is so strong and isn't taking crap from anyone. All this while waiting for their 2nd child to make his or her entrance. So much more is going on but you must read this story for yourself. Be prepared for lots of emotions and have tissues and a towel (or 3)nearby. You won't be disappointed. Red has once again brought us a fantastic story. This might be book #22 in the series but there is never a dull moment and just enough mystery to keep us guessing and waiting for the next book.
I received a ARC and this is my honest review. 5*****

The Ties That Bind is another intimate, engaging, satisfying addition the the Brie's Submission series. The entire family from The Training Center makes a welcome appearance and reinforces the love and depth of feeling of the characters for each other. Red Phoenix weaves more in the tapestry of their lives with artful descriptions, an engaging well paced plot and side stories, and oh so very hot sex. Each well written and detailed page draws the reader deeper into the story as if we are part of this beautiful tapestry. The D/s dynamic of their lives is portrayed beautifully, with incredible intimacy and sensuality. The sex is off the chart hot and erotic, but it's more with all the thoughts and feelings detailed and well described. This is a must read for Brie fans as her growth and strength continue to build with every page, even as she remains submissive to her Sir. What a beautiful, sensual, intimate story!

I received an ARC of this book. So, my thoughts are...this story picks up where the last one left off. I enjoyed every moment of the "ride". Brie and Sir are joined once again by their friends and family. What will they face this time around? In this book, Brie is on the verge of accomplishing her dreams of becoming a big time filmmaker. All that stands in her way is an obnoxious producer that is determined to ruin her. Will she be able to over come this obstacle? What lies in store for Brie and Sir? As a dominant/submissive couple, how will they cope with the different aspects having a family entail? All these questions and more will be answered. I can't wait for the next book in this series. I really hope this series goes on for a long time. I fall in love with all the characters each time I read and re-read these books. Red Phoenix is awesome and definitely knows how to captivate and entrance her audience and draw them into the story. Great job, Red Phoenix!

If you are here reading this review you already love Sir and Brie and all of their friends! This is book 22 of the Brie’s Submission series.

Red completely delivered all the delicious scenes between Brie and Sir in this book and maybe a few others 😉.

The story starts as Brie is expecting their second child. Thankfully Sir is able to be with her through this pregnancy. As always with them there are a few surprises along the way…nothing is ever easy!

No spoilers but in this book there is an answer about the movie project Brie is working on and of course all of our friends from the series make a brief appearance in this story as well!

It was another wonderful story by Red! I was screaming at my kindle when there were no more pages to turn!!! Oh well let the wait begin for the next in this wonderful series!!

Brie is back with her wonderful husband, Sir Davis. They are awaiting the arrival of baby #2, who decides to arrive earlier than expected. Brie has some interesting news about her second documentary. Brie & Sir Davis handle everything with such ease and calmness. I love seeing how doting and caring Sir Davis is for Brie and his growing family.

Rystar travels to Russia with Faellan to organize permanent internment for Lilly and also to get Faellan's back to his old self. Rystar seems toned down in this book compared to the past Brie Submission books.

Brie is such a strong woman who has the support of her community. I do love how loving and caring everyone within their community is with each other.

I did receive a free ARC Copy of this book. I am freely leaving an honest review.

This for me was one of the most anticipated books Red Phoenix would deliver. It had all the feels....happiness, love, sadness, laughter, fun and of course hot and sexy scenes. It also supplied many unexplained details about events from previous books like how the "prank" went down from the previous book. I laughed so hard I thought I would cry. It amazes me the imagination Red and her muses have and how they bring them to life. I would never have been able to think of creating the intimate scene between Brie, Sir & Rytsar when Rystar was so far away. And Tono's issue... I only pray that resolves well. So many other "hopeful" things to come. Well done Red! Although my mind was screaming for the book to not end, I can't wait for the next chapters in the lives of all the Training Center gang.

Who would have thought that after 8.5 years ago when I stumbled onto Brie's Submissive Training,
that I would still be sitting here writing another review for book#22! I have always wanted an author to write a series that would carry on , but I could never have imagined such an amazing group of characters and storyline! I have laughed, cried (ugly cry) and even grabbed a towel a few times!!!!
Red Phoenix you have made this woman a Very Happy Girl!!!! I can't wait to see what will happen next. The Ties That Bind brings closer for lots of people and leaves us wanting more in the end! It was so good to see the community rally around Brie and Sir and give their support! What I like most about The Ties That Bind is the love and care you feel from all those involved! Yes it's sexy but for me the Best part is how deep those feeling run! Great Job Red Phoenix!!!

I've read the entire series and the Dom books. This was disappointing. It lacked substance continuity was very tedious in context grammar ANF the birth was way too long.
The relationship between the 3 women were again childish with teenage verbage and at this point it's time for them to grow up..none of them do. She is a documentarian and reverts to childish conversation. Thane is still a mystery as far as how he came to head the center, how did his prior relationships end and leading up to Brie as his sub. The storyline with Rystar is a man obsessed with his best friends wife and this too is boring. And of course the Lilly scenario should conclude.
I was disappointed with this one.
Not the best of the series..and yes they love each other but this too is over the top...maybe 23 will be better

I have been a fan of Red and the Brie series for a few years now. I love to read about certain parts of her life and her relationships. This book had some great parts for me such as the follow up to the issues with Faelan, the gifts from Rystar (probably my favorite part) and the surprise arrival. My issues are that the book just like the last few seemed to end abruptly, the book itself seemed short and overall it didn’t seem like a book/ story… it felt like a day to day account of Brie’s life. Some things in the book seemed to be thrown in for no reason, I still don’t understand the obsession with the cat and why it keeps being mentioned like it’s a person and I just felt like I had more questions than answers at the end. I would have been disappointed if I had spent money on this.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest and fair review.

Yes!!!! As always Red Phoenix has writing another amazing part to the Brie's Submission series. In this book we finally get to meet the newest member of the Davis family. We cry as Rytsar and Faelan leave for Russia to make new arrangements for Sirs' crazy sister. Brie finally gets an offer on her second movie for her BDSM documentary but something things might be too good to be real. We get to see ALL of the original characters in this book. This book like all of the others will have you feeling all the feels. So be prepared to Swoon, laugh, cry and celebrate with Brie and Sir Davis.

I am voluntarily leaving my review for this amazing book that I was able to read. Thank you Red for yet another hit and I look forward to the next book.

There have been few series that can get to book #22 and still keep us engaged and wanting more! This book continues with the D/s relationship of Thane and Brie while they await the birth of their second child. There is so much that goes on in this book, storylines that affect Tono & Autumn, Rytsar, Faelan and much more! It is clear that the end is nowhere in sight and that is a good thing!

I thoroughly enjoyed this story - it had humorous scenes, steamy ones, intense ones and everything in between. I'm still not sure I get Lea's need for joke telling and I can't wait to understand more about Mary. This story visits all of the characters mentioned and more. It is a must read and if you are new to this series, start at the beginning for the full effect. Highly recommend.

I recieved an ARC for an honest review.
The story of Brie and Sir continues to wow and engage us as only Red can. The characters ccontinue to grow and develop with each book.
I cried, laughed and cheered loudly as certain peolpe got what they deserved.
The scenes ae as always smoking hot and towel is adefinite requirement. As always the friendship between Brie, Sir and Rystsar continues to grow and I really want to see where that goes.
Brie's friends from the Training School continue to support them and they are growing as characters in their own. Looking forward to more side stories about them, if the muses speak.
The cliffhanger ending had be wanting the next book now,but Red being Red knows best.
