She wants to win the presidency, even when the odds seem stacked against her. Kennedy has worked her entire life to prepare for the Culling—to follow in her parents’ footsteps and win the presidency. But when she discovers her first love was just using her last name, Kennedy is now more determined to win than ever. The obstacles just keep piling up, though. Kennedy’s ex is surviving the Culling’s cuts too, and he is making finding a new partner awkward. Not to mention, half of Denver believes she and her brothers don’t stand a chance—thanks to the Heir’s Curse. Worst of all, a Rebel traitor is hiding within the Culling, seeking to take power. If Kennedy could win the presidency on her own, that would be one thing. But the Culling requires her to find a partner to help her lead the country. Can Kennedy find someone who is her equal in strength, grit, and intellect, despite being fiercely independent? More importantly, can she ever trust another man? Time is short. Kennedy must regain her faith in love—before her ex, or the Rebels, tear down everything her parents worked so hard to build. *This is book 2 of 4 in the spinoff for The Culling series. Not a standalone novel.
Tricia Wentworth is the award-winning author of The Culling series. Though she began writing at a young age, she didn’t realize her love of writing would take over until after she graduated college with her teaching degree. She currently resides in Nebraska with her husband, three sons, and English bulldog. She hoards notebooks, pretty pens, books, and tea. When not reading, writing, or momming, she can be found squeezing in a run or feeding her sugar addiction by baking something ridiculously delicious.
I really really tried to hold off not reading this to fast but I epically failed. I am completely addicted to these books. I love how in this one we get everything from Kennedy’s POV! The Reeds really bring it this culling. Holy bomb drops! I did not see that coming!!! I need The final book ASAP!
Only the first three Legacy books are out so far, but Kennedy is definitely my favorite (and that’s saying something cause the other two are fantastic). The author manages to bring back all of the fierce girl-power I loved in the original Culling series and avoids the trope of needing a boy to save her, while still maintaining an addictive love story in the plot. I cannot say enough good things about this book and series!
We got to see the world of the Culling-verse this time from daughter Kennedy’s view and it was great. The different POV gave new insight into the same characters. I loved the romance too, the love interest was engaging and lovable just like the heroine. This was a great read.
This is the second book in the follow-up series of the culling and again just as the first book, I enjoy this series more. If you have read the book on James, then there will be duplicate tellings but that's okay. Towards the end it becomes all about Kennedy and I found that I admire her more than I did her mother.
This book was equally as good as James. It worried me to read the same story by all three Reed kids but this one was different even though the circumstances were the same. It’s a great read and I binged it in 2 days!!
I just knew Kennedy would be my favorite of the heirs. I’m so sad I reached the end of the book. Sure, I cannot wait to read the others, but my goodness I want more from Kennedy and to know what happens with her!
loving the series and this book did not disappoint. Loved the twist (even though i figured it out before it was revealed). Another one i couldn't put down till i finished it.
