There was way too much about what the characters were thinking in this book ( like 75% of the book). I felt like it kept repeating the characters thoughts and opinions and then there would also be parts that had gaps. A scenario would be happening and then skip over to the next chapter starting with a completely different situation occurring that made no sense. The intimate parts explained what the character was thinking but then moved on and you never knew if anything ever happened sexually. I read the first book really not impressed but gave it a second chance thinking the second might be better. It wasn’t. Also, just a side not, characters names and beginnings of sentences are suppose to be capitalized.
Book 1 wasn’t great, but I love a bully stepbrother book so I continued onto book 2. I honestly don’t know what to say, it made little sense. We learn Carter’s dad is a mafia boss, and when he leaves town with Emily’s mom all sh*t breaks loose- but we don’t know what. And Carter, a high schooler, is supposedly left in charge to run things for his dad?! This was really hard to finish, but I did and because I need to know what happens I’m continuing onto book 3, lol.
This book is intense, especially at the end. Although, it is all talk and no action. This a Bully Romance but this second book seems to focus more on the dad's business, than the step-siblings.
