Traveling with the Union Pacific across the mid-west is a long, hot trip and Caroline's temper flares at the man who takes responsibility for the railroad’s many disappointments. Her temper isn't the only thing flaring, her bottom also feels the heat when Royce Ashby had had enough of her bad humor. A man's patience can only take him so far and it is quite obvious to him that Caroline is in need of a keeper. I have always loved to write, and daydream - it just comes naturally to me. I love to read so I devour books. Sadly, I had a hard time finding the best books, the ones that had sexy, dominant men in them. The ones where the men weren't afraid to spank a girl if she deserved a few well-earned swats. The books that had those scenes were very few and far between.

So, what is a girl to do? I had to add the often needed spankings to the stories... In my daydreams after I finished the books...

I love to write. So, I spent a lot of time writing books that I had to edit spankings out of (in my mind) because they weren't politically correct..

As you can imagine, when I found Blushing Books, I felt I had found a goldmine. Yeah, spankings! And I found a place to send my spanking books!

My books are romantic, and they are fun and naughty, but you won't find any full sex scenes (Just enough teasers). However, there are plenty of spankings all the way through and tons of action to keep you turning the pages.

Elizabeth is dressed as a boy but is found out by Caroline. They make a quick friendship and she has changed her mind about becoming a mail order bride to Wade Malone. She feels bad since he already paid for her train ticket. Elizabeth becomes Caroline and is wed to Wade not too long after getting off the train. She changes her mind and tries to get off the carriage and jumps over the edge without it stopping. She finds herself in position for her first of many spankings by Wade. He knows something is off, he just isn't sure what yet.

Caroline meets Royce on her return trip to home and pushes his buttons one too many times and she finds that he will indeed spank her for not listening and not obeying. Caroline much like Elizabeth doesn't think things through before going into action. Many times the wrong way. A delightful read with many twists and turns.

A young woman goes west to fulfill her friend’s contract as a mail order bride

Liz had decided to dress as a boy and try to find work as a ranch hand, but was found out by a kind lady she met on the train. She convinced Liz to continue on west and become the mail order bride to Wade Malone. They have quite the adventure along the way. Caroline returns to her home in Chicago and meets Royce. Fate deems that she and Liz met again.

Two great stories!

There are two great stories in this book. One is about Liz and Wade and the other is about Caroline and Royce. Though they are independent, they interact at the beginning and at the end of book. There are complications, suspense, twists and turns to the stories. I enjoyed them both.

Having read snippets of the book on Patty's website, I was so excited for its release, to read it. Meeting Liz and Caroline on the train was great fun. I enjoyed the rapport between the women. Liz's hair slipping out from her hat was an endearing moment. I felt such empathy for both women as Caroline tried to talk Liz into taking her place as a mail order bride. Patty wrote many heart-stopping moments into the chapter when Liz arrived with Wade waiting for her. Then the quick ceremony and trip to Wade's ranch.

From here, I won't give any more details, but say you need to read the book! The spankings were wonderfully detailed and emotional. And Patty wrote an amazingly perfect "Happily Ever After."

This book is charming, romantic, and truly heartwarming. I enjoyed the way Ms. Devlin spun the tale of a woman weaving a tangled web of untruths that trips her up over and over again. Liz is well-defined and easy to relate to. We've all told a whopper at least once in our lives, and most of us have been caught at it. Well, Liz gets caught and has to pay the price with a sore bottom.

I love the hero, Wade, as well. He's a good fellow, puzzled by the confounding bits and pieces he gets from Liz throughout. And his children are sweet.

This is not an erotic book, and it's not presented as one, but it does have parts that, with a little imagination, take you sexy places. I didn't miss the sex one bit because the story was that good!

I highly recommend Mail Order Switch.

Elizabeth "Liz" Castle was running away from her lecherous uncle and dressed as a boy heading west on a train. Caroline, a widow from Chicago was on the same train heading westward to marry Wade Malone as a mail order bride, but he wanted a "in name only" marriage, someone to cook, clean and raise his two children. On the journey Caroline notices that Liz is not a boy and they strike up a conversation. Caroline tells her about being a mail order bride, but she doesn't want to do it, she wants to return to Chicago and convinces Liz to take her place. Who knew that Wade was a stern believer in domestic discipline. This is the story of Wade and Liz and how he deals with his wife. This is a domestic discipline story and is a clean story without discussing sex.

Loved the passionate mail order bride novel with a twist -- the bride has switched places with the promised bride on the train. Oh! Other switches come into play as Liz's lies come into light. But what was to be a marriage in name only, turns out to be anything but.
