the growth of the protagonist is IMMACULATE. he goes from this whiny ass, annoying bitch boy who is drowning in misery to an absolute BADASS trynna become more and more worthy of the power he has. i love it. i also love how he does so much good accidentally 😭😭😭 and then realised it and feels so nice ab it
4.5/5 stars This book really grew on me actually. Kim Gong-Ja's determination was...a lot. I think the concept of having to kill himself over 4000 times was interesting. I kinda liked it, though it does seem to be a bit much, it gives us a decent idea of a character. His reactions to having someone be nice to him are priceless though, and his interactions with Sword Emperor almost always had me cackling. It was nice that whilst he has an overpowered skill, he still had the drawbacks of his sword fighting and physical capabilites. Having a penalty of seeing the traumas of people he's killed by also gives a lot more depth to the character I think. The doll scene was probably the best and the sweetest I think, other than Sword Saint offering his grandaughter's hand to Kim. That was extremely entertaining. The Witch is also oddly adorable. Like a warrior, but a cinnamonroll too.
Something I struggled with was the format, especially switching between thoughts talking to Sword Emperor, his own thoughts and speech sometimes were a bit disjointed, especially speech broken up by mental conversations, but it wasn't too bad. I think Kim's character...is interesting. He's a bit unhinged and craves acknoledgement and I genuinely feel secondhand embarrasment for him. I wish it didn't skip over so many of his deaths and gave us more detail, but perhaps this better seen in the manga.
Overall, a funny and entertaining read. It can be quite dark, but has a lot of comic moments to relieve it too.
Had promise but quickly went off the deep end (with the protagonist 4000+ violent suicides in a chapter). The author could’ve easily spun this to make a more problematic characterization of the protagonist, but he ends up being a weak willed (outside of killing himself) naive idiot. I don’t know how he lived to be middle aged with his personality.
I’m dropping it now because he obtained an inseparable bully/stalker/teacher who he spills his deepest secrets to. A chapter prior this same guy wanted to capture him and his student murdered him with flimsy justification. I’m not interested in having this annoying character take over a part of an already subpar story. No detailed review gives me any hope of this being a decent novel.

DNF: Chapter 41/Season 1 (If Vol 1 = Season 1 then I guess I did finish?)
Cool concept and start but I found the rest of what I read pretty underwhelming. Feels like there are big stretches of the story where the main character just doesn't use his power or when he does it's off screen and all you get is a throwaway line (despite his power being the main gimmick of the story).
The worst part though is just how dumb so many of the characters are written to be. The main character is only slightly less dumb yet he's painfully smug and made out to be some giga brain incredible intellect who can see 10 steps ahead.
This review is for SSS-Class Suicide Hunter's Season 1 (Chapters 1-40). The concept is very interesting and I quite enjoyed reading through it. The pacing is good, the characters seem interesting and the art style is pretty. The story is about Kim Gong-ja and his journey of climbing a tower. He gets a very unique skill but it all depends on dying to use it. I'm not going to spoil it too much but it is a pretty interesting series. I'll continue to read before I write a very detailed review.

This book start out somewhat unlikeable, it then over time becomes a masterpiece. I am 300+ chapters in now and I can say it is probably the best book I have ever read.
Still 4 stars forgot how the earlier arcs were more humorous than more recent arcs. Humor is still there in the recent arc but more toned down. Took a while because I'm back in school.
