The Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania is a nonprofit corporation formed in 1884 under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, U.S.A. It is used by Jehovah’s Witnesses to support their worldwide work, which includes publishing Bibles and Bible-based literature.
According to its charter, the corporation’s purposes are “religious, educational, and charitable,” in particular, to “preach and teach the gospel of God’s Kingdom under Christ Jesus.” Membership in the corporation is by invitation only and is not based on how much a person has donated. The corporation members and directors assist the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
A book that's worth reading! Containing practical and biblical advices to teenager's everyday trials in life. A must read book for every teenagers, and guess what, you can have this book for free!
I've only read one section of this book, and I has already helped me dramatically with some of my life decisions. I love the format of this book and how it has little surveys for you to fill out and asks thought provoking questions and has good tips and facts about certain subjects. It also has little sections called "Action Plan!" were you answer certain questions on how to improve in certain areas. It always refers to the bible and I can look up the scripture that the answer is given on and have full confidence that the advice they're giving me comes directly from Jehovah God. It has quotes from youths all around the world and most of the time they feel exactly the way I feel about matters. It's almost the book was written for me specifically. It's like my very own little diary because there's pages called "My Journal" were I can write in my feelings and thoughts about certain subjects. It also helped me with asking my parents some difficult questions. Like I said before, I've only read one section so far, but I've already noticed that it has helped me in a huge way. So please, all of you young people out there, get a copy of this book as soon as possible, and discover for yourselves how this book can truly make your lives much easier and better in many different ways.
It's amazing how Jehovah provides us with his aid. This is EXTREMELY helpful throughout my high school years in explaining my beliefs and getting along with everyone. It's Jehovah's guidance! :D
One of the many answers that helped an introvert like me.
(Just an excerpt) WHY DON'T I HAVE ANY FRIENDS?
The facts about friendship and loneliness Having lots of friends is no guarantee that you will never be lonely. “I care about my friends, but sometimes I don’t think that they care about me in return. You can feel the worst kind of loneliness when you’re surrounded by friends but they don’t seem to love you back or need you.”—Anne.
Joining a social network is no guarantee that you will never be lonely. “Some people collect friends the way others collect figurines. But having a roomful of collectibles never made anyone feel loved. If you don’t have meaningful relationships, online friends are as good to you as lifeless figurines.”—Elaine.
Unlimited texting is no guarantee that you will never be lonely. “Sometimes when you’re lonely you keep checking your phone to see if any of your friends have sent you a message. And when you’re already feeling lonely and you notice that no one has tried to contact you, that can make you feel even worse!”—Serena.
Doing things for others is no guarantee that you will never be lonely. “I’ve always tried to be generous with my friends, but I notice that they haven’t treated me the same way. I don’t regret being generous with them, but it feels a little strange that they’ve never really returned the kindnesses.”—Richard.
The bottom line: Loneliness is, above all else, a mind-set. “It comes from inside a person, not from outside,” says a young woman named Jeanette.
What can you do if you feel friendless and lonely? ...
It is such a helpful, scripture-based book and a must-have for every teenager. Kindly visit www.jw.org for a copy! :)
Another well-researched publication from the JW organization that focuses on our youth. All parents have those times when their child(ren) ask them a question that they have no answer for, whether for lack of knowledge or not up on current affairs with teenagers. It is a difficult road our children have to walk on during these times, and parents can be as frustrated as their children. Because the Bible is the main source of the answers, and the answers are coming from our Creator, we can be assured that they will be helpful and timeless. The world around us may change, but people truly don't, in the most basic factors- a need to be loved, understood, and protected. We all require these basic needs to have a happy life. Psalms 119:98,99
When I read this book as a teen there was a chapter on music (rock and heavy metal especially) and I made the decision that I would never to go too deep in a conversation about my music taste so I could keep on listening to the number of the beast in peace
This book offers practical answers and suggestions that are based on the God's word - the Bible. This also helps readers to develop a closer relationship with their loving Creator.
I highly recommend that each parent obtain, or download, a copy of this wonderful publication to read for themselves, and then to sit down and study it with their children. I did this myself. It helps a youth to grow up in a positive way, learning to deal with the adversities of life.
Real facts should stand up to scrutiny and should be researched from multiple sources. If only it could teach parents and youths in the org how to protect them from pedophiles. Jwfacts.com
My sister gave this to me as a gift when I was 16. She really knew this would be very helpful for me as a young woman, and indeed she was right : ) this book is everything I ever needed when I was a teenager. I love this book so much. : ) <3
So this was my second read and loved it! You get so much more out of it by reading it again. It was funny to see some of my responses on questions. Some were the same and others so different!
