Think I’m exaggerating? Well I’m not. I’ve finally got my brother Michael back, and I wish I could say all is well. But the sh*t has really hit the fan and time is running out for us to make our big escape.
Daddy dearest or should I say the new warden of Pembroke Penitentiary is determined to make me the new Gilchrest family sacrifice. With Blackwater down for the count, the entire prison on lock down, AND no food coming inside, all of Pembroke has been turned upside down as we are forced to fight it out for even our basic needs.
And let’s just say Michael and the guys don’t exactly see eye to eye. So yeah, I’ve got fighting inside and out to contend with.
Will we find a way to band together and discover a way out before my father captures me? Or will we starve before that’s even a problem? Pick up this sizzling finale of the wildly popular Poison Penitentiary series to find out.
Hey there! I'm a Jamaican author with a passion for all things paranormal romance. I write Reverse harem romances with irresistible plot twists that will keep you up way past your bed time.
This series was absolutely fabulous! Freedom of the Fae delivered all the action, magic, and heart I was hoping for. Jessy’s journey has been such a wild ride, and this conclusion tied things together beautifully.
If I had one tiny gripe, it’s that the ending felt a little rushed—I wanted just a bit more time to savor the final moments. But honestly, it didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed the story. I’m crossing my fingers for an extended epilogue, because I’m not ready to say goodbye to these characters just yet!
Highly recommend the whole series if you love fae adventures with a strong, determined heroine and high emotional stakes.
I love this series and this was an epic conclusion! . What a ride! This has me laughing, on the edge of my seat and I’m here for every second! I love these characters. They are entertaining and engaging. There’s not a moment where you wish the book to be over because more than anything you wish it would keep going. Such a unique world and original plot. This sucks you in from the first page and the steam, don’t even get me started. . This is an out of this world PNF and one that is unforgettable! I’m sad to see this series come to an end but this was an awesome conclusion with everything you wished that would happen. Our heroine prevailed and all is right with the world with the people who deserved get their end and the prison come tumbling down. Again, I absolutely loved it. I do wish to see Michael get his HEA I think that would have been the Cherry on top after what had happened to him but nonetheless still a great book! . I can’t wait to see what Taylor has in store for us now that this great series has ended, and for her debut series, it was definitely a slam dunk!
This book was a great end to Jessy’s story. We get to see Jessy finally rescue her brother, go head to head with her parents as well as find a way out of prison. There were quite a few hurdles Jessy and her men had to overcome but I am happy with how it all ended. I would have loved to see a longer epilogue, only because I’m a sucker for them, but I really enjoyed the series.
Sizzling finale, say what?? OMG this conclusion is just awesome! Totally hooking me from the very start , I found myself gripping the sides of my chair as “the sky is literally falling”! The author did a fantastic job of finishing this off but maybe we might see them some other time?? Loved this series and I loved the characters though I am sorry to see this trilogy come to an end!
Seriously another awesome read. Each book is have really enjoyed. This was Brilliant from start to finish. Highly recommend. And I look forwards to more books with these characters in.
This was a great way to end this trilogy. The characters had me laughing, hottt, and on my toes wondering what will happen next. This story had such wonderful characters and a wonderfully written world. The way the characters interact and had a happy ending was just what I needed. Great job.
So I really liked Book 1 of this series... Book 2 I liked a little less... then Book 3 was probably my least favorite. By the time I got to book 3 the storyline seemed to have stalled out a bit and became a little cartoonish (if that makes sense) and I started skimming to get through it.
I found myself eye rolling at some of the revelations
Overall I did like the series. There were grammar issues throughout which made me stumble along the story a little. Nothing a once-over in Grammarly wouldn't fix if the author ever revisits this series.
Congrats to Taylor Spratt for her first complete series!! This series was one heck of a ride and I'm happy to see it conclude in a smooth way that doesn't have us on edge wondering if something else will pop up to ruin everything for these characters. I was half worried about Vampy's King status and how the people would accept the whole group but even that was handled by the author. (Although I still don't think that Jessy told him that it was stealing from his father that got her in the penitentiary in the first place. I wonder how he and his people would react to that lol)
Michael added to the scene surely made things different as he is the typical protective brother. I liked that the guys and him didn't get along so they had a chance to prove themselves to him through their actions instead of just trying to get on his good side. You can really tell how much the characters grew in this series just by that. These are the type of men who don't like people questioning what they do or the decisions they make, but they got through it for Jessy. The guys actually start to have some sort of camaraderie in this book and were even beginning to become considerate of one another. There were a few times the characters seemed a bit childlike in their whining or retorts, but overall the characters developed well. Even Jessy got to face her fears and overcome her past which was nice to see.
The one thing that I really wanted to see was more of Zero. It was clear that something was brewing there but after one scene we never got to see him again, even in the epilogue. I'd love to see a bonus epilogue or even a little novella with him in it since he is part of the group even if he isn't there 100% of the time. Overall, I’m pretty satisfied with this series!
Freedom of the Fae is the third and final book in the Poison Penitentiary, it was a quick and fun read.
The story picks up right where the previous book left off. Things have been a shit show from the start but things are finally looking up for Jess, Michael, and the guys. They find out a key piece of information that may help them leave their dark days at the penitentiary behind by going on a quest, searching for magical objects. During the quest, the bonds between the guys and Jessica has grown stronger and even more solid.
Jess had grown into a strong and confident Alpha despite her parents' past abuse. However she has never truly confronted them, well this is her moment to truly let go of all that was done to her and truly move on.
The craziness that is Blackwater penitentiary has upped its game. Jess's family are jerks her father proves that by turning Blackwater to even more of a hell-hole. Supernaturals are acting crazy, Blackwater is crumbling all around them, people are getting killed, supplies are getting low. Things are getting pretty bad, it's the prison system at its worse, I could believe the things that went down. The story gave that whole dark days vibe but on the lighter side.
There were a few cheesy lines, the relationship with Michael was off, and some of the plot was a little too easy. Overall, Freedom of the Fae is the type of story that's just for fun, it gives the laughs, have the most ridiculous things happen and is just a good time with a happy ever after.
Jessy and her mates are back and getting into more trouble than is good for their health!
After the successful release of her brother from her evil mother and father’s clutches, the downfall of the prison and an unexpected battle with Hades, you’d think that Jessy would deserve some desperately needed downtime with her men...but Jessy has bigger issues that are pulling her toward her next big adventure.
If you love an FMC who is good at not only protecting themselves, but also everyone that they love, strong men who are powerful and so crazy in love with their mate, that they will willingly charge into battle right behind her! Then this is the book for you!
Loved the ending! Although this is the end of this trilogy our fantastic author isn’t done with this world! More fantastic characters and books to follow!
What are you waiting for....1 click this book now! Then let me know how much you enjoyed it!
I love when a series closes out in a smooth and satisfying way, with no lingering plot holes, no unfinished business, and all my deepest desires for the characters fulfilled. This final installment in the Poison Penitentiary series did just that. We got to see Jessy unite all the important men in her life. We saw an end to her and Michael's awful family, and we saw that horrible prison come crashing down. I felt satisfied with the way the story ended. I felt like all the ends were nicely tied up, but yet I wont deny that there are opportunities for a spinoff or two, or perhaps some fun little bonus novellas. I'd love to see something with Zero, a backstory or Jessy conquering him and helping Jamie gain full control. I wouldnt mind a spinoff with Michael getting his HEA back with the pack. I am truly happy with the way it ended, but like all great things, I hate saying goodbye!
The final book in the series and boy was it full of adventures. So we pick up from where book two leaves off. Jessy is not going to going to let her her mates die and she rescues her brother. So finally we will get to see if Jessy will be able to defeat her evil parents and escape the pen. Well Daddy dearest is not going to make it easy for them. Also since she rescued her brother he is trying to get along with her mates. He just thinks that they are friends. LOL well I wonder how he will take it when her finds out that they are so much more. Then they get some more bad news about Alexandros' father. So now they really need to get out. Will they be able to before her father tries to place you in a coma to syphon her powers. Well you will definitely enjoy all the sexcapades and adventures that awaits you in this final installment of the series.
Great conclusion and a happily ever after! I found the final book in this series a page turner! The series definitely got more intense and interesting as it progressed. After Jessica managed to free her brother, she and her companions have the biggest hurdle to overcome, to escape from the prison. But just when I thought, ok, now they're succeeding, another curve ball! With Jessica's mother more or less disabled, her father fears his ugly head and will stop at nothing to thwart her. Even incapacitated again, Jessica rallies with everything she has and her companions are not far behind. I loved the interaction of Jessica's magical beings and how they put all their differences aside and even embrace one another as equals. A lovely story with a lovely ending. I do so like a happy ending...
Whoa! This was awesome. I was in such a hurry trying to read and find out what happened I should probably start over because I may have missed something. Jessy has the absolute worst parents ever and while she is fighting them, the prison is in absolute chaos. I really liked Maxine and would have loved to read more of her shenanigans. There is so much going on in this book that it’s hard to review without spoilers. That ending was fantastic and I would not have minded another chapter describing in detail exactly what was happening after they opened that chest. This is a great series and I recommend you starting it today.
Great finish to a bl00dy great series ! Love Jess always the bad a$$ and getting badder ! Great to read finally a bit of her brother Michael -well to have him in the book the guys what can I say ? Love them all even zero, not sure who I like more, but as Jess does... why choose? When you don’t have to. They crack me up all the time! Great ending fast paced and a lot of action as always, you don’t want to put it down, it’s a series where you want to read as fast as you can to find out what’s gonna happen and also you probably should read it again as you might of missed something from reading so quick! 5 stars 🌟 for sure !
In the third and final book of Jessica’s and her men's journey, Michael is, at last, free and now they needed a way out of the penitentiary. Hades and his army are still attacking and needed to be dealt with…can she do it with her newfound power and her twin’s help? They will seek out Maxine again for help. They will be sent on a new journey to find their way out and for one of the men to claim what has been rightfully his…but where will that leave the rest of them? The book is action-packed from the moment you open it and read page one! You will not want to miss the exciting ending to this trilogy. I received this as an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.
Such a great series, and what a fantastic collection of characters.
Taylor has a fantastic way of guiding you through her books with the first chapter feeling like a welcome home. I really appreciate the slight recap but the original feel that went into this one.
This series has been amazing from start to finish, and I am sad to see it end but so darn happy with the outcome.
The plotline has many twists and turns, and such unique characters with intricate pasts connecting them.
Do yourself a favour and add this to your TBR right away. The book boyfriends are more than worth it, with just the right balance of action, steam and storyline.
What an amazing conclusion to this series! Jessy finally gets her brother free only for new obstacles to be thrown at them! The hurdles that they have to overcome make the finally of this book even better, will they escape the prison or be stuck there forever?!
I do wish there was an epilogue because I just wanna know more about how they faired together at the end. It was great to see Michael work together with her men even if he was in protective big brother mode at times. The action and chemistry is still there throughout the entire book just like it’s been in the series! You definitely want to read this book to see how everything ends!!
Well, I finished the series but that's about the only positive I have to share. So. many. fight. scenes. Almost every chapter has a fight scene or a sex scene. Jessy and her group get back into a corner and have to fight their way out. This is it. They're all going to die this time. Then, surprise! Someone develops new powers or someone else comes to their rescue and now it's time for celebratory sex. And now I've saved you the time of reading the whole series because that's ALL that ever happens. The covers may be awesome but I'd skip this series entirely.
Amazing conclusion to this fantastic series! Jessy rescued her brother in the second book but with the warden down absolute chaos ensues. Jessy, Michael and her four mates are in a race for their lives to escape the prison. The characters grow so much in this book and have to learn to work together and trust each other so they can have their HEA. This book is full of non-stop action, fun, snark, heat and sweet moments. I love how this author concluded this book and I'm sad that it's over!! It was such a great ending!
This is the final book in this trilogy and it's fantastic. Its got non stop action with a slight bit of chaos. Now that Michael has been rescued, Jessy and her mates all have to find a way to work together and overcome the obstacles that present them with an impending battle. As they learn to work together and Michael accepts things for what they are, they all have to figure out the end game, getting out of the prison. Will they make it or accept what's been handed to them? Definitely recommend reading you won't be disappointed. It's the perfect ending to an excellent trilogy.
You need to have read the previous books in this series, because this is the last book of the Poison Penitentiary series. I have loved reading this series, with the kick butt sassy female fae Jessy, who is out to save her brother (Michael), and gains some sexy supernatural guys. I have watch them struggle, through hardships, and I have loved this page turning journey, and I found this last book to be the icing on the fantastic cake of this series. I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received, and giving my thoughts and opinions on it.
Freedom picks up right where book 2 left off, Jessy has saved her brother, but has to deal with her father. But her guys are fighting a war and she needs to get back to them. How will zjessy get out of prison and defeat her father? This was a fun, action packed steamy story. I liked the relationship between Jessy and her brother and the dynamic he brought to they guys. The pie apology made me laugh out loud. I’m sad that this is the last book for Jessy and her guys, but it was a great journey :)
This was a great ending to the series, though you do get a bit hopeless at times. The main characters just can’t seem to catch a break for anything. This book has very little spice. I mean her brother is with them now. But there is some spice. I need like a little scene of Jessy and Zero hanging out!! Zero is Jamie’s cursed self who is a psycho killer but likes only Jessy. I was mildly disappointed there wasn’t a scene with them together. But otherwise this is a great paranormal series with a strong FMC and a hot variety of supernatural MMC.
Yassss!!! This is the ending I was hoping for! What a great way to end a series. I loved every minute of the ride! Jessy has finally done the one thing she set out to do, rescue her brother. Now all she has to do is get out of that hell of a prison. But with Mommy Dearest down, Daddy has come back to wreck havoc. I could not put this book down. This was a great conclusion to the series and I would highly recommend it.
Jessy is kickass, I wouldn't want to get on her bad side. Her men well I want them. I enjoyed the series completely. It had everything. Sister who will do anything to save her brother, men who will do anything to protect the woman they love including attempting to get along with one another. Jessy is the glue that makes it all work. Great way to end it. I can't wait to read the next book Taylor writes.
My god i dont know where to start with this last book in the Poison Penitentiary series. There was so much fitted into this book. Now with the inclusion of Jessy's brother Michael he brought another dimension to her group of guys - Alexandros, Jamie, Broderick and Drake. They need all the help they can get against not only Hades but Jessy and Michael's dysfunctional and bloodthirsty parents. It was a knockout ending to a cracking series
This is the final book of the series and boy was it a fantastic and heart racing rollercoaster of a book. Jessy has become one of those FMC that you get to watch grow through the pages and with her story at a close, you are satisfied with all the trials and obstacles she's had to overcome. I was so happy with how this story ended, and yet sad to see Jessy and her men go. There's lots of action, hot scenes and laugh out loud moments. Such a beautiful read and I loved every page!
What an epic conclusion to Jessy's story. There is so much action and suspense in this last book. I absolutely loved it, and as for the guys, i think Broderick is my favourite as he has such a cheeky personality, but they are all so very different it is hard to choose...im so thankful its RH and Jessy can have all her men! The conclusion was definitely epic and i loved how it played out. Cant wait to read more from this author!
The third and final book of the series. The series has thrown some amazing and unexpected twists to the story. Make sure to read in order to not miss them. The author does a great job of answering so many questions and closing several loose ends. The story has so much action and danger. The romance between the group becomes closer and we still get some heat. I do hope we get to run into the group in future books of this world. I loved Jessy and all her sass and spice. She is one tough female.
