Definitely read the first book first. It really gives you good insight and depth with the character and her history dating back to school. I really liked this installment. I’m still captivated and wish there was more. It’s a short story, but again I was surprised at how thorough it felt, though in a different way from the first book. I enjoyed meeting new characters and the dynamics between them and the history behind them. I anxiously await more!

I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Someone understands and cares

I really enjoyed the story as far as it went, but was real disappointed when it suddenly ended, while was so enjoying it. It was sad that Kenny was just getting ready to see his ranch foreclosed on, after losing both his parents dying in a car crash, as a result of is father suffering a heart attack. Katherine who had a crush on him in middle came to her job at the bank and she discovered the sad situation he was facing and feels the need to help him.

This short story was well written but ended with little warning. I felt let down, with little closure to this chapter in Katherine's life.
"I saw the swirls of smoke rising toward the hills, and it made me think about the land out there."
"This is God's handiwork."
"To the west was an ocean of green tallgrass soaring to the sky and twisting in the April wind."

I enjoyed this book. It takes place in small town. The characters were described well with many changes along the way. However the changes were not good changes for them. It was s short story and I wish it had went longer. Just as I really got into it it stopped so would have enjoyed a longer version.

I my copy was free with my agreement to write an honest review.

Thanks Chris.

A rancher who cares about the land. Who does everything he can — not just for his land but for the whole area. And when the bank wants to foreclose . . . . well let’s just say is is not happy - but does not know what to do!

These are short stories but full of suspense. It looks like Katherine might have a second chance. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Book review

The story was starting to get interesting, then it just stopped. Everything was left up in the air. There was no closure to the story. Very disappointing.

Will Katherine be able to help Kenny keep Rising Sky Ranch? She works for the banks and the ranch is going on foreclosure if Katherine can’t work something with Kenny.
