fun
Three books!
Book one - kid comes of age and joins the system by dying for the first time. He’s immediately betrayed by the priest and assigned the least desired caste. He meets his God and gets given the role of her champion. He fails to keep it secret. Assassins try to kill him. His friend does kill him. He revives and his friend whisks him away for training and safety. He learns a bit from a secret group in a time dilation before returning. His new friend nearly dies.
Book two - Our hero and his friends go on a camping trip with all the other new system kids. While keeping an eye out for the assassins. At night they jump into time dilation to learn more. He makes a mistake and accidentally nearly kills the Dungeon his town uses for growth and training. While trying to revive the dungeon, he gets betrayed and thrown into the spiritual realm.
Book three - In the Spiritual realm he befriends the Dungeon and becomes its master. He meets three past champions of his god also trapped there and learns that his betrayal and capture was part of the plan to free the three. His expanded group trek across the realm and defeat a demigod. He absorbs her power. Steals her identity and continues. He asorbs a storm. His group grows in power and discovers a way out. They escape and find two months had passed in the real world but only a few days in the realm.
This is a fun listen. Great YA coming of age series. Interesting characters. Great pacing. Wonderful narrator. Highly addictive. Please enjoy

Amazing world building, with an MC who made me scream in annoyance. . .
Ruwen drove me batty for the majority of the first two books, even as I continued my sense of awe at the meticulously detailed and efficiently structured world building of the realms and other settings in Ruwen's world(s). I do recommend this 3-book volume, as it gave a savings close to a buy-two-get-the-third-free sale; I also intend to read the rest of the series after the third book included surprise actions and developments that put a huge twist in direction insofar as the conspiracy of several gods against the Goddess Aru and her current and past champions is concerned. Things should get even more interesting in the books to come. Brilliant writing, despite my despair and irritation at Ruwen's useless focus on regretting not classifying as a mage and his initially clumsy ineptitude in the one he believed he had wrongly been forced into. Strong themes of positive self development, growth in strength, patience and tolerance, and moral aptitude and character persist in Ruwen's circumstances as he struggles in successful completion of quests to survive. Loved it! Four stars, though, as the first book and half the second were a struggle for me to finish. The third made up ground for the early disappointments... I do recommend taking a chance on the series - you may find Ruwen irresistibly charming and brave 😇.

These three books absolutely rock. I was, however, operating under the assumption that sets like this are usually formed after the series is over (I know I know, bad assumption). So I was all kinds of disappointed to find I have to wait for the fourth one to be released. Even if the wait is only two days.
Hey look I never claimed to be patient.
The world building here is a little more in depth than your usual cultivation litrpg. And by a little, I actually mean quite a bit. The history of this universe is both unexpected and highly welcome. The main character isn't a womanizer, which isn't in itself ever a bad thing, but I was starting to tire of it a little. In fact, these three books focus heavily on character building and skill building. The main character doesn't even smooch the potential love interest until the end of the third book. (Yes. It ends RIGHT AFTER THAT.)
As a result, I'm wayyyyyy more attached to these guys than I expected. I may need to designate a whole bookcase for litrpg must reads at this rate.

a great book set for a great series
This young adult series starts with a set back and the work needed to rise above. Ruwen Starfield is the smartest student in his class he knows he’s going to be a mage… what kind well that changes on the day but when he comes time for class selection he is betrayed by a corrupt priest assigning Ruwen the worker class… but not all is lost he is given the choice of duel casting as Uru’s champion the down side, he is the target of all of the other gods and other known parties once he becomes known. See how Ruwen survives and grows with friends and becomes OP

Surprisingly good
I’m pretty much over the chosen child trope in fantasy fiction but this story was amazing. The world was complex and interesting, and the MC had realistic and endearing character growth. I can’t wait for the next one.

Three in one
Great world building, complexity and continuity. I've only recently come across this author and can honestly say this was a great read and recommend to all readers who love fantasy and litrpg.

This is a great series!
Plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. Great action sequences. Unique advancement paths. Different worlds to explore. Good friends to travel with on this hero's journey. I am looking forward to reading the rest of this author's books.
