As far as Doctor Kat Tate is concerned, calling Gunnar West an arrogant caveman is an insult to Neanderthals. New in town, she was looking forward to a night off and maybe a little romance. But her date's muddy truck and cowboy ways are a little too much local flavor.Gunnar's family owns most of West Gorge, but no one owns his heart. All he can see when he picks Kat up is a too-tight dress, and a blinking sign above her head that reads "not the mother of my children."Their blind date is a disaster, and both are happy when it's cut short. Then a quick spreading virus forces Kat to lock down the hospital--with Gunnar inside. He hates being stuck anywhere, with anyone. But Dr. Kat is the new sheriff in town, and she won't let him bend the rules in her hospital. Forced to work together, anger turns to admiration--which turns to romance. But can it last when the quarantine is over?

What's worse than going on the worst blind date of your life? Being trapped with your date because you're stuck in quarantine together. I loved the character development, and how the H/h came to realize how much they'd misjudged the other.
Dr. Kat Tate has taken a job with a midwestern hospital as specialist in infection control. She has issues with trust as her father walked out on her mother when she was young and men have never remained in her life. When she moves to Wyoming to take over infectious disease they try to fix her up with a rancher named Gunnar West but it falls flat as he picks her up with a very tall truck and she is wearing heels and a very tight mini dress. As she moves into her job there is an outbreak of a very serious , highly contagious disease and she is force to quarantine the patients on that unit. As it turns out she has noted the thread of where it started and how and notifies CDC. She is a superstar! In the meantime she and Gunnar are getting closer and then she is forced to quarantine him on the unit due to his returning her wallet entering the quarantine. This is such a feel good book! For all those that want to feel good during the Covid Pandemic-- this will do you a world of good!
This was a really good book.It starts with the Doctor of the local hospital,a rancher and scores of other people get quarantined at the local hospital because of an epidemic scare. The sad part is,the rancher was only there to give the Doctor back her phone, which had fallen out of her purse after a miserable first date with him.Unfortunately,he got quarantined along with everyone else! Most of the book takes place in said hospital and you get to meet some real characters! I liked this book a lot ad hope you will too.P. S. the teenage small time thief is a character unto himself!
I am rounding up my 3.5 stars. It's a quick and sweet and easy read and I consider reading the next books.
As expected from a book of this length, nothing got too deep and intricate. I was a bit thrown off by the story-teller way of writing sometimes, that told me things (feelings of the characters, for example) that I should have been experiencing through actions and plot - but I am not a critical reader, if it is not conflicting with the actions, I can roll with it.
I really liked this story. It was about Kat, who was an infectious disease doctor. Their hospital was quarantined by Kat, and all the patients were kept on one floor. Gunter West had tried a first date with Kat. Her phone had fallen out of her purse and he was returning it. Now he was quarantined for 7 days. This is a really great story. You will enjoy it.
Kat Tate is a new doctor in town. She loves Wyoming & the hospital where she works. A friend fixes her up on a blind date. The date is disastrous. That same night, Kat discovers a virus & has to quarantine a wing of the hospital. Gunner also happens to be in the hospital & isn't happy to be quarantined.
Fun book about a group of people who have to quarantine for five days. Lots of funny banter. I highly recommend.
Wow! I'm so excited to find a new writer for me to read.
What can I say Ms. Fawcett has drawn me in to the world of The West brothers. Her story of The Quarantined Cowboy is so timely and shows on a small scale what our lives have become during our pandemic. Can't wait to read more. Enjoy!
A bad blind date takes many trials and tribulations to bring about a happily ever after for Gunnar and Kat. The other characters are rewarding within their make-up to bring a happy ending for all.
Like most romance books, it follows a pattern. If not, there would be no story to tell, no problems to overcome or misunderstandings to straighten out. This one had a very good plot line, great characters and of course an incredible setting. A feel good book for sure.
I enjoyed this Wyoming-set romance between a wealthy cowman and an infectious disease specialist that had eery echoes of the COVID pandemic. Gunnar hates being trapped in the hospital where his mother died, and Kat has trust issues with men. Seeing their long road to trust and happiness play out was intriguing. Nice job!
I’m really surprised I didn’t love this :( but the timeline and misunderstandings really frustrated me + the inner monologue on the first date felt really snobbish 😭
however I’ll probably try another by this author as I did like the writing ! :)
This is my first book by this author. I didn't like how she kept jumping from the past to the present. My analytical mind struggles with that. I did really enjoy the book. I like the hero and heroine and all the supporting characters. I can't wait to read more in this series!
Although I always have a book in the process of being read, I'm busy and it usually takes weeks or months to finish a book. I finished this book in a few days. It is a clean romance with great character development. I loved it. My only complaint is that the proof reader missed a lot of typographical errors. Other than that I loved everything about this book.
Her Quarantined Cowboy (Wild Wests #1) by Kathy Fawcett – This was a series starter freebie, but it is also on kindle unlimited. In what may have been the world’s weirdest first date, it’s a good thing Kat has the chance to quarantine the cowboy who got off on the wrong boot with her. Very sweet story, and I’m looking forward to the rest of the brothers! Happy Reading!
So interesting to read about a story of fiction that relates to our current medical situation. The only flaw in the story was when the 'snake' of a reporter entered the hospital to interview Dr. Kat while they were in Lockdown. Don't think that would ever happen. But, all in all, a delightful story!
This is my first book by this author. I enjoyed the beginning and the blind date between Gunnar and Kat. It was a interesting book about being quarantined. At times I was a bit lost when a random chapter was stuck in about someone’s back story. Overall a 3.5 stars.
What a thoroughly enjoyable read! I’m glad a writer brought something good, sweet and fun out of a quarantine. It’s been too depressing & confusing for too long. Joy and laughter at last!!! I really liked the H and h and appreciated their story and hoped for their happy ending. I look forward to more books by this author.
I really enjoyed the unusual heroine and situation of a quarantined hospital. I especially liked the side stories about the hero's parents, the teenage boy who ended up in quarantine, and the shop keeping ladies. Really enjoyable book!
This book is fun from beginning to end and all ways in between. Blind dates and conclusion jumping is key for the two main characters, Kat and Gunnar. She, a doctor, and he, a wealthy local rancher, have many hilarious clashes due to misunderstandings and quick tempers but they’re interspersed with tender moments. It keeps one wondering which will prevail, temper or tenderness.
Enjoyed this "look" into a hospital quarantine. Loved Kat and Gunnars story. Story didn't lag, kept you turning pages, especially with the addition of the "other" stories.
