WOW…this family continues to expand….I love how the author incorporated the new family members into this story. In addition, I love the personality growth of each member….in the beginning they all were a bit rough.
Oh my goodness book 2 was even BETTER. I don't know if I wanna give my heart to Trell or Choppa, Choppa is winning by a little bit (heart eyes). I love these men Khia, Trell, Choppa, Co, Reese & Codeine and the women who loves them... Phy, Tae, Delia. Bring on the next book Mel.
I really enjoyed the authors writing this is part two and a series and it did not disappoint at all. One was good but two might have been a little bit better. Keith Book Korner
3.5 stars Khia and Phy's love and dramatics continue. The truth is this story was not completely centered around them. There was a lot going on.
Khia and Phy expand their family. Not just with their beautiful twins, but with Tae's extended family. I was clear on Tae's brothers, but when they turned out to be related to Trell and Khia I was confused because that would mean Trell was married to his cousin. I digress on all of that as it was nice for Tae to finally have family support beyond Phy.
Khia and Phy struggled in this book. As strong as their connection was when devastation hits, Khia selfishly pulls away. Phy holds the family down, but it's clear that she is hurting. Since this was their story I really wanted more of them.
Instead there was a lot of time spent on Trell and Tae. Their sweet little family. Tae's brothers were prevalent, especially Chop who finds his love with and unexpected girl.
I felt like there were some unnecessary parts of this story that just kept dragging the story along. Overall I felt it lacked cohesiveness and didn't stay true to being Khia and Phy's live story. That said I really did enjoy the characters. Loved the hood yet business vibes the males gave. The slang. The love and advice from Momma Rosa. I laughed a lot too.
They picked up right where they left off. I'm glad Phy was on her real woman ish, and let hubby know ..you only got one time. And he got his ish together. 😉As he should.
So Tae has a lot going on. But her family is there for her as they should. And she deserves it all. Her journey has been so unique, but well worth the outcome.
Delia has a while background story that will hurt your heart. But I'm glad she found a group she can depend on.
Wow, just wow! Queen Mel got one hell of a pen game do hear me! Reading this part 1 & 2 of Khia & Phy's story, had me in tears from laughing so hard, crying because of the journey these couples took to find their forever love and in love at the same time. What enjoy and love most about this Queens work, is the fact that she writes from each characters point of view. It be so raw and real. If you don't feel away reading her work, something wrong with you🤷🏽.
Let's get started with the main characters, Khia started with a lil heart break after finding out his girl Gina was out there Baby Bopping (Trell words not mine🤣) all over town with any🍆with a pulse and some money🙄😒.
Phy making the journey back to her home town for a fresh start runs into her childhood to adulthood crush Khiaere Washington💕.
From jump Khia fine sexy BDE ass is determined to make Phy his. Things are until Baby Bop comes sniffing aground causing drama. Which in turn makes Phy distance herself from Khia.
Baby Bop "Gina" swore she had standards, but I been to differ. Let's not take away from the fact that she was dealing with demons from her past, cause her daddy effed her up and her momma all but let it happen😡, disgusting motherfudgesicklestix. She realized the relationship she had with her dad wasn't normal and she used it to her advantage, until her daddy got wind she was using those same skills with others in town and cut her off. Being the vindictive person she'd become she insures he pays and sends him to jail. Now present day she's still using those skulls to get what she wants but it backfires when her conniving ways catch up to her and Khia drops her and eventually moves pin with Phy. The lengths she went to try and get a man who made it perfectly clear he wanted nothing else to do with her and that Phy was his baby momma. She crossed the line when she tried to kill Phy. Phy being in that coma almost broke Khia, the emotions that man went through behind almost losing her and them finding out she was carrying his babies😭.
Trell & Tae were perfect for each other. Them two were both head strong, hilarious, and didn't want nothing to do with love. One night in a hotel changed both their lives and Trell felt he couldn't breathe without Tae.
These two were crazy in love and they challenged each other in every way. The love they shared was amazing and I enjoyed reading about it💕Tae went through a lot growing up in foster care, so it was a struggle to accept the love Trell was giving her. She had a lot of abandonment issues, heart really went out to her especially when Phy was in her coma and she found out she was pregnant and didn't feel she was worthy of being a mom or true love. One thing tho, she really did love that fine big 🍆 ninja😜
Delia was a girl who got taken advantage of by someone she right was her friend. When She finally tools her real story and not the watered down version Gina told, my heart broke, like I was in tears. Her greatest joy out of all the trauma she suffered was her soon Liam💕. She didn't play about her baby and when Gina started doing effed ish, she distanced herself from her.
Choppa chocolate sexy ass some on scene to help Khia keep an eye on Gina after she goes of the grid for a year and ends up in Miami. While watching her he crosses paths with the beauty that is Delia and they get to know each other. That's until jealous 'ol Gina tries to ruin things. I was proud when Delia stood up to her and let her know how disgusting she was for ever saying Delia took all her men, including her daddy😳😡. That bih Gina really needed help.
Now once Delia bares her soul to Phy, Tae and the rest of the crew, I couldn't do ish but cry. Choppa knew then he wasn't gonna let her get away again. Him showing up at her sons football game, priceless. For a single mom, there's nothing sexier than a man who genuinely shows interest in your babies and not in no pedophile way😒. That was Choppa, that man showed up and let her know he was there and wasn't going anywhere. Their journey was extra special to mute cause I'm a single mom, waiting on her forever love💕. I can't w wait to read their full story.
When Trell & Khia confronted Gina momma, that ish that trifling bih said out her mouth about her own daughter😡. How yo 7 year old daughter have a jezabel spirit, dumb bih. Then blame her for your nasty disgusting pedophile husband taking her innocence.
I don't care how you feel but I took joy in the ladies, especially Phy & Delia getting their payback. When they finally got they hands on Gina, I ain't gonna lie I was cheering them on🤷🏽. When Choppa brought Delia in the room and sis started cutting gonna with that razor and then explained why she chose to the razor, wow😳!
Now it's time to take care of her disgusting daddy Charles🤡The ish their but Reece found out about regarding the ish Gina and her disgusting pedophile ass daddy did to Delia💔. I felt like Choppa, I wanted to dig her up and kill her again🤷🏽.

Man Mel Dau you did your thing with this part was glad Gina finally got her karma i hated the way she did Dee is was very interesting to learn everybody was related n some type of way Tae finally finding her mother was awesome this series was very good everybody was well educated & not into drugs it was a wonderful love story
This book was so good. It picked up right where part 1 left off and had my attention to the end. Mel Dau keep bringing us this 🔥🔥🔥girl. I loved me some Phy and Tae but Khiaere and Trell were my baes. I can't wait until the next book
Phew, this needs a constant family tree reminder....
Welp, I am not only a believer but a full stalker because just after two book, I am already following this author and gotten a third book. I know I am binging this weekend. Started out on Friday... This finale was great actually. I thought at one point you were going to have us see some infidelities and all, but nope, you stayed in the grown up lane and gave us some real life issues and scenarios and this was why I know I will drop whatever I am reading to check out whatever new releases you might have. Khia, man you need to grow up because you have other matters to attend and you are acting up (hence the club acne) Phy, lady, you rock... Do your thing now... Can't give up and can't stop your grind. Now I still have these little issues of Phy never interactions with her mother but she is mentioned as the definite babysitter when they need to go out, but never no side of their relationship except when Phy was in that car accident did you hear something. Then now you have Tae with at least having her mom side of the story but still not Phy. And then, about their extended family, on Phy and even Tae on her mom side. What about Phy and Khia's wedding, when is that? She already have her third baby and just a smidgen of a mention to it but nothing else. Now my biggest suggestion for this series that has so many layers is to actually start this with a family tree to help us remember all of the descendants and who do they belong to. In any case it was still good, and now we can try to understand the dynamic that is the brothers, Choppa, Codeine and Smoke who are somewhat related to Khia and Trell... What's up with Reece now? Is he also related? Hope we get more answers...
Not your usual Dope Boy/ Baby Mama drama!! Keeps building and building!! Love that Tae finally got some happiness all the way around, Mom, brothers, Trell and kids!! Choppa has nothing but love for Delia and Liam... cant wait for them to get at Charles, some happiness for Delia was past due!! Gina was worse than we thought she was, but her demise was so fitting!! Mama Rosa passing was sad, but love how the author didn't exploit the situation. The whole crew being related was a fun twist, since they already had loyalty and love for each other. Khiaere and Phy are still magic. Can't wait for Justice Rose..Time to see Choppa in action!!
First let me say.if you are not following this series then you are missing out. This was such a good follow-up to the first story and very well thought out.I love that the writer gives you an inside look at the characters lives and how they are living. This story deals with some very heavy topics and the writer handles them beautifully. There is chemistry in this story that it just flows effortlessly and you can tell this when you don't experience any down time. There where however a few typos that didn't get in the way of the story but it was a little bit distracting. This was an experience and a rollercoaster ride and I can wait for the next installment.
Phy and Khia, Tae and Trell, and Delia and Justice were the cutest couples ever. Even though Khia almost lost his way when Grand Mama died, he realized that his family needed him, and he soon got his act together. I loved that Tae and Trell always confessed their love to one another. Some men think that it's weak, but real men know that it keeps their woman feeling confident and self assured. Gina deserved everything that she got, and she was definitely a product of where she came from. Delia was a victim for a long time, and I'm so happy that she found her strength, and to know that she had an entire support system with her was priceless....what a beautiful story.
This series was good. I will say it had me a little teary eyed. I was so happy for Tae that she finally got to meet her mom. It was good that she let her explain why she left her. I’m glad they finally caught up with Gina trifling behind. It’s crazy how everybody is connected to each other. I’m glad they also gave Delia a chance, it’s crazy how Gina and her dad did all that stuff to her. It was sad when mama Rosa died, that really had me in tears. Can’t wait to read about Choppa and Delia🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Mel this is my first read from you and baby you added to that my favorite author list.....Choppa is bae lol I would’ve been popped that cherry for him....I’m so excited you are doing their story next yayyyy I can’t wait to read it.....This series is a must read..I was laughing, doing the ugly cry, and mad all at the same time lol...Gina and her daddy were sick in the head for real. Everybody turned out to be perfect for each other. Phy and Tae gone end up with a zoo if they keep on with Khia and Trell lol..This series is a must read.....
I hated for this series to end. I laugh and cried throughout the book. I felt like I had a connection with the couples. When Mama Rose died I cried. She was such a big part of their lives. I’m glad they killed that snake Gina. The way she had did Delia was sickening. She got what she deserved. I’m glad Delia and Choppa got together. I can’t wait to read more on them. I recommend reading this series.
they really do live in a small town. everybody running around shouting cousin. Delia i really feel for her, she shows great strength and determination. chop go head boy, you strong willed I commend you. Gina is sick her momma sick and her daddy sick. awww mama Linda and tar baby I wonder what would have come of them if she didn't walk away, or if they would have crossed paths. grandma rose
I loved it. I felt all the love in this book. The couples in this book make you believe in love and marriage. They also make you feel and know marriage is hard but it’s worth it all in the end. Now on to the craziness in this book lord Gina got all she deserved. You should have brought her back to life just kill her again. You did a great job
Book 2 picked up right where book 1 left off, Gina is just a sad case, I’m glad that that didn’t harm Delia & she got to tell her side of the story. It’s crazy how they all are related on some way, I like how Choppa came in & took over and can’t wait to read about him & Delia..
I have never cried over a book on my life this hard. This book was everything. This is the first series that I read from this author, and I have to say the pettiness was real, the relationships were like something you see every day. I would like to see more from this author. I want to hear about the rest of the characters background.
This book was well written , characters were down to earth. Glad Gina snake behind was dealt with accordingly. Delia deserved her happy ever after with Chop. Khia and Phy, Trell and Tae were the ideal couples, crazy in love. Great storyline looking forward to Delia and Choppa story.
This series was OFF THE chain I can't believe Gina was doing all that especially to Delia speaking of her she found her love which is Choppa.. everything that went on in this books was crazy I'm glad that Tae meet her mom and she found out she had brothers and she knew them but never knew they were her brothers ... I'm so ready for this spinoff so they can find Charles
Didn't do a review on book 1 . 1st I will say glad it didn't take long for 2nd part to be released. Read this book at work and now I am home and I am finished. Just love the Love between all the couples and their families. This is a book you will not be disappointed. This author is New and can't wait to see more great reads from her. #foe
Book 2 was even better! I’m so relieved Gina received her karma! I absolutely loved this book! Mel Dau is truly gifted. When I say I felt all the emotions while reading. This was definitely a page turner, I did not want to put it down. The book was well written and the humor had me laughing out loud! I’m definitely reading future books by this author and would recommend to others.

Yyyyyaaaasssss I loved it. Great storyline I literally went through every emotions reading Laughing out loud. I can’t wait I see what happens with the next storyline with Choppa and Delia.
The followup did not disappoint me at all. This book showed true love with minimal drama. The flow was good and kept my attention. Did I mention that this book was funny as hell too. Can't wait for another read from Mel.
I laughed. I cried. Parts 1 and 2 i greatly enjoyed. I loved every character except for Gina delusional ass. He'll get momma and daddy were crazy. Tell and Choppa are definitely book baes. Good job on writing this book!!!
I just love how everything picked up from part 1 and took off from there. Man the raw emotions was had me crying right along with Delia and Tae. This was a great book. Good job!!!
