This was a novela in the series A Devil's Nightmare MC. One more book to go...I'll be sad for it to be over but ya never know if any of the same people will show up in another of her series.

Axle only plays a small part of the MC. It was the same for his Dad. They ran the shop and got rid of any and all cars the club needed to disappear. He works on the bikes and if he wanted to he could go party with them any time he wants. He did after a bad break up but he just stays to the side now.

Mia is a prosecuting attorney and about to start the biggest case of her career. Before she does she goes back home to help her Mom close her hair salon and pack it up. The town has changed and it's not longer a small town but a yuppie type of community and she is losing the building she owns to make way of progress. She hates it. I myself know how she feels because it's starting to happen to my own small town. Sorry let me get back on track.
Anyways Mia hasn't been back in years because she left the love of her life there. They couldn't stay together. Now that she has seen him and has had him she wants him back.... problem is someone wants her gone...gone for good and they take her.

Axle hasn't ever even been on a run for the club so are they going to help him and will it be too late?

This is a beautifully written love story with Lena Bourn's inevitable HEA.
Mia and Axel had been deeply in love in high school, they thought that it would last forever but circumstances got in the way and they went their separate ways.
Axel was the son of the late leader of an outlaw biker group and Axel was to follow in his fathers footsteps, Mia wanted a career in law and she couldn't have that if she was married to Axel. Twenty years later and Axel has built up his fathers garage into a very successful business, he still belongs to the gang and although he doesn't ride with them his loyalty runs deep. Mia is a public prosecutor about to face the biggest challenge of her life but her mum was being forced out of her well loved hairdressing salon and she needed help......this would mean seeing Axel again,
The chemistry was off the scale even after twenty years apart, could Axel offer a solution to her mum's problem ? could they ever make a go of it ? must Mia return to the city and her high profile job ?. When Mia's life was in danger Axel would move heaven and earth to protect her. This was a short but very enjoyable story of second chance love.

Axle has been just working on older model cars, and He has amassed quite a collection. He helps the club with cars/bikes/etc., By stripping them down and selling the parts. Ever since Mia left, life has been dull, and repetitive. Axle has started to question what's missing in his life. Then Mia shows up to his garage.

Mia left her hometown and her heart twenty years ago. She realized that she and Axle were moving in two separate ways. Axle a member of a MC club, and she a Prosecuting Attorney. When someone damages her rental, she heads to Axles garage to get it fixed.

Readers: This is a steamy, captivating read. Axle and Mia are meant to be together, but have all these preconceived notions that it has to be all or nothing. There is nothing like time spent together, and an air of danger, that reminds that reminds two people who truly love each other what is important. I enjoyed this novella from a new author I haven't read before.

Great story that might be a novella but read like a full fledged story. It’s technically a biker romance and Axel is part of the club, but he’s not a fully committed to the club just as a stolen/hot car scraper. Same as his father who was in the same position, history on repeat. He’s a strong alpha male but also has his tender moments too. He’s the towns only mechanic garage and rebuilder of American classic.
Mia might be a prosecutor but her coming back to her hometown will have obstacles if she thinks she can show up and be back in San Fran in a week...
Axel as a M.C. Biker hands on aspect is when Axel needs help finding someone and getting the help he needs and information, but the other times club related business is when one of the brothers brings him automobiles to disappear. Both Mia and Axel loved each other since they were 15, dated for 7 years, the she breaks it off with him and they been single (never finding that spark again) for 20 years they been apart BUT MIA said she is almost 40... unless the math is wrong she would be 42 BUT AXLE said they were broken up for 15 years and that would make them 37, sounds about right.....
Can’t wait for more!!

I really like axle and Mia second chance romance and they were childhood sweethearts and broke up before Mia left pleasantville and axle is a part of an outlaw MC and runs the garage that his dad used to before he died and talk to his mother on and off and love that Mia is close with her mother and runs a hair salon. Love the spicy scenes between axle and Mia. Mia is a prosecutor in san Francisco and has a big case going on and Mia is abducted by another rival MC and love that axle gets his mates from outlaw MC to find Mia and love the ending with Mia and axle staying in pleasantville and Mia might be pregnant and axle asking Mia to marry him and Mia’s mother re opening up her salon. And this was a quick spicy read and love that axle and Mia got there second chance to be together again and I liked that axle and Mia talk about the past and there families and they still have fond memories from the past being together.

Upfront confession, over the last ten months (2020/1) I have devoured books in order to tune out the rest of the world.

What I really enjoyed about this book is that it actually has a story; it is not just man meets woman, have a relationship and HEA.

MIA - a successful prosecutor returns to her hometown to help her mother pack up her business.

Axle - owns his own business fixing cars and is loyal to his MC club just as his father before him was.

Twenty years ago they were a couple but career choices came between them resulting in Mia leaving town. Now they both realise they want the same thing - to be together. Unfortunately there are a few obstacles to be overcome.

I was absorbed into this story from the beginning. It's fast paced, a second time around relationship story.

Escapism at its best.

Twenty years is a very long time to hold a torch for your first love, but these two do. Mia had a plan to enter law school and fight the bad guys. Axel became the bad guy in Mia's eyes by joining a MC. She comes home after years away to help her mother pack up her beauty shop that is being displaced by greedy developers. Mia takes her damaged car to Axel to fix and sparks reignite. I have to say, I really liked Axel. He was the same person through out their whole relationship. Mia was less sympathetic, I didn't like the way she tried to manipulate him. But overall the story is a fast paced, short, steamy read with some drama and action. Good Read

Axle is such a strong start to the Blood Rebels MC series. This isn’t a soft or sweet romance at all, it’s gritty, raw, and pretty intense, and it really leans into that outlaw MC world.

The chemistry between Axle and his love interest is instant and explosive. Axle is very much that classic bad boy hero, possessive, protective, and carrying a dark past that actually adds depth to him. When you do see those more vulnerable moments, they feel earned which I loved. The pacing is quick too, so there’s always something happening, whether it’s the danger around the club or the tension in the relationship.

The world building was done really well and sets everything up for the rest of the series, which has me keen to keep going.

Axle is a beautiful second chance romance that gives a great journey between a Prosecutor and a Biker, what a delicious combination. Axle and Mia have a very lengthy past. After many, many years being away from home Mia comes back to help her Mom. After a mishap, almost as soon as she gets back into town, the car Mia rented obtains damage. This takes her to Axle and their journey back to each other. The path back to each other isn't an easy one of course. All the twists and turns they have to go through just enhances how deeply their love is for each other. This is a beautifully written book and I'm so glad I went on this adventure with Axle and Mia.

This book brings us Mia and Axle. They were sweethearts, until they went in two totally different directions. Mia is a prosecutor and her job is very important to her. It seems like all she does is work and she is fulfilled until she has to return home to help her mother clean out her salon. Axle chose the MC, which he feels is his family, however, upon Mia's return, the old feelings come back that truly never died. I loved how Axle and Mia realized that they were better together than apart. This was a great short story, perfect for reading at bedtime. I did receive an arc for an honest review.

It's an intense story with vividly painted scenes. She had me glued to the pages reading their story with all the twists and turns along the way. This well-written second chance romance storyline has chemistry, love, heartbreak, and a reunion. Our H and h were childhood sweethearts who broke up over vastly different career choices. Many years later, our heroine returns home to help her mom and reunites with her old love, but the love these two shared flares right back up. The road to a HEA is a bumpy one but worth it. I enjoyed this engaging and entertaining book.

She broke up with him because she wanted to pursue a career in law and she has been very successful. He stayed in their hometown doing what he loved working on cars and refurbishing them to their original look. I totally loved this book, was well written, loved the characters. Axle and Mia were perfect together but career choices made it difficult. Time flies when you pretend all is ok.
