Mirra Alfassa, later Mirra Morisset and Mirra Richard, also known as The Mother, was the spiritual collaborator of Sri Aurobindo.

She was born in Paris to Turkish and Egyptian parents and came to Sri Aurobindo's retreat on March 29, 1914 in Pondicherry, India to collaborate on editing the Arya. Having to leave Pondicherry during World War I, she spent most of her time in Japan where she met the poet Rabindranath Tagore. Finally she returned to Pondicherry and settled there in 1920. After November 24, 1926, when Sri Aurobindo retired into seclusion, she founded his ashram (Sri Aurobindo Ashram), with a handful of disciples living around the Master. With Sri Aurobindo's full approval she became the leader of the community, a position she held until her death. The Trust she had registered after Sri Aurobindo's death in 1950 continues to look after the institution.

The original of this work being in French is the soft copy of that 'Douce' Language that I've read in paperback. The book has become close to my heart in these past year and half because it is the second work or the first of The Mothers that I've read not taking a detailed course. The paperbacks are found online and in the stores at Pondicherry where 'boutiques' are available showcasing the works of The Mother's and her spiritual counterpart Sri Aurobindo.
The prayers that are written in the the work 'Prayers and Meditations' is an affordable book being priced at hundred and fifty or two hundred a copy. The copy is worth thousands in hypothetical life but reading her I've found that worth of a book as though vast inaccuracy of judgement on my part for not having all of them!
'Make of Us the Hero Warriors' is a poem or prayer but to me a constant guide through daily life and is not a spoiler for this copy and is found in her other works. Being a disciple of the Mother's Ashram i've grown fond of the french language but it is the English version in translation that is named here as Prayers and Meditations. Lots of priceless moments of spiritual truths guidelines for seekers of the Divine is found here.
The duration of several decades of writing prayers and trying to invoke her divine within is magnificently kept in this diary of sorts of surrendering to her inner worlds and being a pathfinder for others who seek the Omnicient, Omnipotent and Omnipresent. The durability of this work critically is splendid because the adoration for being silent and really growing quiet and also recording the search for the purpose it had.
Prayers and Meditations both are a good companion and being a book companionship works well. The prayers are concentrated in a decade and then find themselves crossed over to India from France. The remarkable achievement that the journey had was jotted down in my memory like other examples of similar spiritual contacts which linger on for protection and assimilation.
The work has been preserved well and a edition of this work is a must have to all readers. The spiritual contact found here is deep and quiet.
Conclusion to the work as a review is after reading once you can open any page and read again because they are jewels. The French is a training for not mature french readers like myself but that a shame. The French I learned by reading Mother is the quickest learning of language that is in my memory and not to forget all the constant love and affection that as her children we receive.

I’ve had to read this book for my thesis but could only get to 37% until I got bored. For a non religious person, this is extremely hard to understand (obviously) but it’s interesting nonetheless. The hard part is the repetition. It’s a diary so everyday is just praying and thanking for everything. I passed through the pages and it just keeps going on. Might make sense for a religious person
