Hmmm.

I read the nine books in this series. I still have no idea of the culture, society, or structure of this world. I have no idea what people eat, what they wear, or how or what they celebrate.

Don't get me wrong. It's not badly written. Just--sort of incomplete. It's a straightforward telling of the story, unfilled by any of the sensory detail that makes for a truly immersing read. The characters are interesting, the storylines are well-developed, and everything flows well. I liked it. I just didn't love it.

Awesome series

I feel like I have lost several friends when this series ended. I have cried and laughed and celebrated with them throughout their stories. I need to warn you that this series will change you for the better. Get ready to meet hero's and villains. You will love it.

What a marathon! Five stars because even after 48 hours the story (ies) kept me reading, interested and at times quite excited! Not for the faint-hearted, and maybe not a "binge-read" for many, but if read separately, the plot may have been hard to follow. Recommended, but by gum, you have to enjoy Dragon stories!

Excellent Dragon Series!

These books are all well written, interesting, and engrossing! I couldn't put them down until I'd read them all. Fortunately for me, I'm retired, so I can spend as much time as I please reading good books.
If you enjoy dragons, magic, and relationship based adventure stories, I highly recommend this series to you.
I will never forget my favorite characters, and will add these books to my "keeper shelves."
Be sure to read them in order!

Great epic fantasy, very well written, incredible characters, good ending without the usual ' happy ever after. I recommend this 9 book series to those who don't want elves and dwarves.

Well worth the time to read such an amazingly told story. Rough times, lead to positive outcomes, Labour of love is written in.

Dragons and more dragons

Had a hard time to stop before midnight when all I needed was to get to a place so I could turn off the lights. Need to get the next book so we can see if they are going to get married and how they will rule the nation. Well written keeps reinforcing the characters and their lives.

nine dragon books, whew and wow

I read the first six books in September, took a break, and finished the last three in January. But I enjoyed all nine. The first three were my favorite, before the gods were involved. These co-authors write entertaining books. And I am thankful for that.

Awesome!

If you like Dragons, Magic and suspense you'll love these books. I'm very saddened to see them end. I hope she has more of the same. Possibly even more of this story line, which would be great! Don't hesitate you'll fall in love!

At the time of writing this, I’m currently in the middle reading the fifth book, or the 2nd book from laini’s pov. So far, I’m very disappointed. I absolutely loved the original trilogy. The world building was so original, and the plot kept me invested. I loved the tamer bond dynamic, and the overall lesson of honor. I love kaelean and lasssro’s relationship, and both of these characters. That’s why I am very muchly disliking this next part of the series. It’s not a bad story. My problem with it is that it’s undoing everything that I loved from the first series. Kaelean was my favorite character. I hate the way she is portrayed in this next section. She is an entirely different character!! All the things I loved about her remain absent in this book. Another one of my favorite aspects— dragon/tamer bonds, absent. The book actually focuses on the main characters being untamable. The entire unique world building is completely torn apart with the gods and the ghosts. Those things don’t even fit into the world!! I would probably like these books more if they were not set on the same world. For me these books are ruining the amazingness of the first ones. Another thing I dislike is that there aren’t really any tamers that are major characters in these books at all, which again is disappointing because that’s one of the things I most loved from the first books. I also just kind of dislike laini’s character. She was okay at first, but I’m getting kind of sick of her always longing for close relationships, yet claiming she can’t get close to people because she might get hurt. Tyr is the only thing that I kind of like about this book, besides the addition of hunters, which I though was pretty neat. I like tyr’s character arc and his background story witch is the source of his motivation.

The third book about mrs unclaimed was much better than the first two. I still wasn’t happy with the portrayal of kalean but it it did redeem the story line at the end. The god thing was still kinda weird but I liked the dynamic of hell being reborn instead of killed.
I started on the first book of the next perspective and already I can tell I’m going to like it a lot better. I love the two main characters and I’ve only read two chapters!! I just love the tamer dynamic so that’s prolly why. Review to come for the rest of the books when I’ve read more:

Okay so I’ve finally finished the entire series. It’s really hard to give all 9 books an overall rating because some of them I loved and some of them I hated. Keep in mind that I don’t actually rate books on how great they really were, I rate them on how much I personally enjoyed them, meaning that you can have an entirely different opinion than me, I’m just sharing what mine is. The first three books were pretty good. I would have given them five stars, not necessarily because of the characters or the plot(both of them were okay) but mainly because of the world building. I’ve never read another book where dragons transformed from human to dragon, and had to bond with a tamer to keep their instincts under control. And I loved it!! It’s so original and I loved the description of the bond and how it portrayed them to one another. As of the next three books, it started out rough. I did not enjoy the first two books at all. To me, it felt like all of the characters from the first three were not themselves. Kaelean especially did not feel like the same character, and she was my favorite character from the first three books, so it was really hard to move past that. My favorite part from the original series, the dragon tamer bond, was not in this book. In fact, they actually called themselves the untamables. I feel like a lot of good things that I loved from the first three books were missing in this next part of the series. I also just didn’t like the god thing. I am a Christian, and while I read a lot of fantasy books and it doesn’t bother me for them to have “gods” in them, this book just didn’t sit quite right with me. The first two books about laini I would probably give three stars. I just didn’t enjoy them. But for the third book I would probably give 4 stars. As I said before, the ending was a lot better than I was expecting, and I enjoyed this book a lot more than the two before it. I liked hell being reborn and then the untamables finding her. And while it felt very weird that death wasn’t actually final, as it normally is, I was really glad that all of the untamables were able to be brought back to life because I honestly would have hated it if tyr died sense he was my favorite character from this section. Now for the last three books about Mari. They were my favorite ones. While I agree that it was definitely very similar to the first three books, I actually enjoyed it better. I liked Mari so much, and I actually found myself enjoying the parts that tyr was present in. The sources were another very original aspect that I loved and enjoyed being added to the series, and Mari and kai’s relationship was adorable. The creation magic that Mari had was also very original, and having Mari face the past to be able to use her magic to save everyone was one of my favorite parts.
Overall I give these books four stars. It was an up and down journey, but I’m glad I read these books.

An Incredibly Wonderful set of books!

These books take a person on one of the Most amazing and Beautiful told stories of love, loyalty, and responsibility that I ever had the pleasure of reading. If someone had told me a few years ago that I would read a so called " romance " story, I would have thought them crazy. But the writer did an Outstanding job making these books a compelling read. These books have so Very Much More in them than just romance, and you bond with each character completely and the struggles they face and the emotions they share. To anyone who wants a Great fantasy series, get these books and truly Enjoy. The details and depth the author goes into just totally amazed me. This series of books was written with great care and love. I will remember this series for a long time to come. Thank you to the author for writing this series, I truly enjoyed.

This series starts out very well. Interesting characters and a great fantasy world. Hassle for me was the second part of the series was almost like reading the first series. Good but just too close to the first series. Then came the third series.... it's as if the publisher said no worry just keep the same theme and story line. Change out characters and a bit of the interaction but it's still the same as the first part of the series. Disappointing because the author is obviously a great writer. I did not finish reading the series, stopping about a third of the way into the third part of the series.

dragons, magic and myth

I got a nine book box set and read them one after another. Three books to a story and three stories. The first three were my favorite. The second three my least favorite. All the heroines are willful, pinheaded and wracked with guilt about their choices. The second story was a bit tiring with the angst and lack of confidence of the goddess Laini. The last book drops the kings rival with his new job and nothing much is mentioned about the book

More than I Had Imagined

This box set was more than just one saga. It was several, all somewhat related, and all WONDERFUL!

I had never read any of Ava Richardson's work before this, and I was overjoyed by her imagination, the deep and colorful characters she creates, the amazing magic and dragons, and even a shout out to Norse Mythology.

If you're a fan of this genre, you'll enjoy this box set greatly!

Excellent and suitable for all

A truly enjoyable set of stories with just enough threat to make it exciting. Not a kid's book by any means (themes are a tad complex.. Not b oring for adults), but still well within the bounds of what most people will feel comfortable having any child interested read.

Kingly

What a great story line, with so many twists to it.
The characters were strong and related to each other, through various bonda.
To take on Chaos and finally imprisoning him in a new world, locked away was a great twist.

I have read many of Ava Richardson books and expect this sort of attention to details.

Beautiful stories and an immersive world. Also, a beautiful approach to have characters of a previous story pop into the next ones.

What took the edge off for me is that there is quite some repetition. This is expected from one book to the next, yet when it happens within a book over and over, it gets a little tiresome.

Brilliant,

Exciting and fast paced series of stories that will keep you reading for hours. Absolutely brilliant characters and stories . A dragon shifter adventure to rival Harry potter. Each group of stories is linked by place and customs but spans several lifetimes . This is very definitely a set that can be read again and again and become a classic

Got to be one of the best ones I have read. I've read other chronological timelines, but this is the best. Recommended for any dragon lover. I do warn you, READ IN TIME ORDER. I started with Reign of Chaos and that ended badly. I cried and laughed and I loved the story. Recommended to my aunt and brother so I'm waiting to see how that ends ngl. Gonna go read another Ava book!

I read the first trilogy in this book. It was very entertaining and engaging but there was a sprinkling of swears and the last story in the first trilogy had an almost sex scene between unmarried characters. Neither of those things do I want in my head so I stopped reading. It's too bad because the story itself was really good and those things were unnecessary to the story.

I think that you couldn't get any better reading than this type of mythology writing, so I gave it what I thought, it deserved.

I cannot think of to much more to say , other than if this is the kind of reading you like than have at, and enjoy.

Dragon fantasy

Three separate trilogies but all connected by the Alveria Dragon Academy and the bond between dragons and their tamers. All of them are connected by the magic of creation and the nine gods of Asgard.
