Perspective (And Other Poems) is a collection of poetry that I have written as I transcended adolescence. It focuses on keeping the magic, finding yourself, connecting with nature, and opening one's eyes to the many different perspectives of reality. There is a tone of curiosity and questioning, as well as a love for life, nature, and oneself. There are poems that focus on family, self-worth, love and growth, and nature.
A wonderful, thought-provoking debut collection that offers new perspectives. “The poems I never wrote down”, “Coming of Age”, “Euphoria”, and “Summer Solstice” particularly spoke to me. The beautiful illustrations enhanced the power of Ana’s words and I have no doubt these lovely poems will resonate with others as they did with me.
My emotions were at an all time high reading this. Each poem is so beautiful and breathtaking. I paced myself reading this one as I wanted to savor every word and phrase written and I’m so glad I did. If you haven’t already add this one to your “want to read”. You won’t regret it! 💛
It was very reminiscent of the feel and simplicity of popular social media poetry and that of Rupi Kaur. These pieces will connect with writers and any others who find themselves wondering about all the classic existential questions. And the notes section on the back was an interesting and unique addition. Perhaps to continue your reflection on the topics within? Or maybe to jot down some thoughts before passing the book on to others?
My favorite pieces were: Perspective; I flipped a coin; Misfit; Patience; Me and the blue jay; Forever; and Enigma.
Memorable Quote: "A lot of them claim they want to see the whole world, whatever that means, but when the opportunity arises and it's time to just flow, They look around and ask, "why should I go?" "
I adore this poetry book! I was lucky enough to purchase a signed copy, it's my new favorite way to support authors. There are so many details to find in the words and artwork, all a reflection of the author herself and her life, as she shares through her social media. The best part has to be the reality of one living and taking time to share these thoughts as they move through their day, it's like you're following someone along through a scattered conversation. Overall, I do feel this would be a great book to gift to those you want to introduce to the world of poetry!
AMAZING collection! I could relate to so many poems in this book and I know that this is one I can pick up at different times over and over again and find something new to connect to and take something else away. The illustrations are ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!
With every poem I read, I fell in love with this book a little more. I honestly loved it, and some of the poems I related to so much it made my heart ache. 1000/10, would recommend.
This was the first book I wrote and published. With that said, it holds a special place in my heart. I hope others enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
