Brianna -
He’s the love of my life until one day, he’s gone, leaving me behind with a shattered heart.
Dreams of wedding bells and babies ripped away.
How will I ever move on from such an earth-shattering love?
How will I ever be satisfied with any other man?
I ache for him every day and I crave him even more.
I wish things could be different but I understand why they can’t.
I just wish the pain would go away.
Where is he now that I need him the most?

Carter -
She’s the sun in my sky and the love of my life.
But I’m nothing but a monster.
I had to. I had no other choice.
It was the right thing to do, for everyone.
So, why does it feel like this? Why do I hurt so bad?
Why is it that months later, I still crumble every time I hear her name?
Why does the thought of her moving on kill me?
What have I done?

WARNING: Carter is a steamy romance with a HEA and NO CLIFFHANGER. It contains sexual content and coarse language and is recommended for mature readers. Please be aware that some scenes may cause stress for some readers.
The Denver Royalty series is made up of standalone novels, however, for maximum enjoyment, it is recommended that readers start with the Kings of Denver series.

I really liked this book, interesting with a very realistic couple.
This made me shed a tear, simply because someone dies and I wasn’t prepared for that.
I love books that have a HEA warning, because I hate to read books just to find out they don’t end up together.

I enjoyed this story, although it wasn't quite as angsty as I thought it would be. The only real issue I had with this story, was the Hero's lack of reasoning for why he refused to marry the love of his life, or why he didn't want to have kids with her. It would have been nice if that had been explained. That being said, this story sucked me in from the beginning and kept me glued to the end. Guess I can't ask for more than that.

Putting aside the fact that this entire story is based on a guy deciding everything in his relationship based on his own timeline (realizing he doesn't want a family with her so he breaks up with her then refuses to accept no for an answer when he finally is ready for a family and wants her back), this was an ok story. The entire hinged on the MMC's whims, which I generally don't like. The FMC was basically just waiting for him to decide he wanted a life with her, and he said so many times that she's the love of his life, he just couldn't give her children and marry her. And he proceeded to break up with her so she could find someone who would while being hugely hurt when she finally went on one date. I mean he wasn't horrible to her about it because that's exactly what he wanted for her, but he was internally so wishy-washy it was annoying. He said multiple times at every point in the book that breaking up with her was the greatest mistake of his life, but he did NOTHING about it for an entire year until he saw that she was pregnant. THEN he was ready to go the distance for her and to force her to let him back into her life. Smh

Also I didn't appreciate the 4 month time skip right after they get back together and he's supposed to be earning her trust. We don't see any of that time together, it just skips to a time where he's close to earning her trust in him back and goes from there. I have no idea what made her trust him again because we don't see it. We get a recap in his internal thoughts and that's it.

Also I'm annoyed at yet another book about twins with inaccuracies about the difference between the types of twins and which ones are traits inherited genetically and which ones aren't. This book acted like the babies the MCs have, which are identical twins, was passed on genetically because the FMC is a twin and the MMC is a triplet. No. The higher likelihood of non-identical twins, like the MC and her brother, IS a genetic trait that is passed through the mother's line. Identical twins, or identical triplets, like the MMC and his two brothers, are a complete miracle of nature that's not passed down genetically.

Anyway, the family members in this one are great, and the support system is strong. The death of a side character that occurs was tragic, but what came about with the family pulling together afterward to help each other out was beautiful.

Carter and Brianna

I did an oot of skimming with this one.
So it could have been better and the angst potential was there but it fizzled out. I don’t think this story was properly thought through— it was shallow. Carter has been living with Brianna for 2 years. Constantly states throughout the book that she is the love of his life— think broken record. However at his sisters wedding after having a quickie in the Bathroom with Brianna mind you. He decides that he needs to break up with her. He knows he’ll never love like this again but he doesn’t want children or marriage and she does. He doesn’t even conversate with her about compromise… he just breaks up with the love of his life(LOHL)He never gives a reason why he doesn’t want kids or marriage. Uhmmm… dude, she is an elementary school teacher you had to know she loves kids. So 5 months later after a tragedy they have a drunken ons. She is still the LOHL but he still doesn’t want to put a ring on it. A few months later Brianna figures out she’s pregnant— with twins! She’s a twin and Carter is a triplet. So funny story while Carter is speeding the streets of Denver he almost runs over Brianna. Far fetched much???? This is when he discovers she’s pregnant. And Lo and behold he has an epiphany. He does want to marry and have babies with the LOHL. She is after all the LOHL— did you get that? So now he has to earn her trust back— which is so easy it sucks balls- no grovel at all so let’s just fast forward through that like the author did with the next chapter 4 month time jump. Yeah 4 words for this book. Wasted angst, no grovel.

A heartbreaking read with such an emotional story. I was mesmerized by the story as it developed. The family created by those in the DR was lovely to read...such great dialogue. I loved this story.

Pppppfffffttttttt. Okur. This is a book that I think this group will enjoy but I still don't know how I feel about it

Soooo this starts off with the couple at their friends wedding and shes saying how she can't wait for a wedding and the future. Theyve been together for two years, but he doesn't want to get married or have kids full stop. And he breaks up with her as$ after the wedding for no other reason than he never wants to get married or have kids. Evar. 👀😐

They both try to move on and she goes on a date and he goes on a date, but his dicck does not get hard until he thinks of the h 👍 😂

There is a death in the family which kinda shocked me cuz I hate that shiet 😬😬 (I hated abby jimenezs book when she k!lledd off a character too and refuse to read anymore of her books. Anyhoo) they take solace in each other after that death and they hornny and GUESS WHAT? Not chicken butt. She gets pregnant with twinsies! He almost runs her over on the street and sees her pregnant. As you do. And then he gets his head out of a dark place near his bootyy and grovels to get his family back.

Listen linda.....is this a 5 star book for me? No. Is it the best grovel I've ever read? Also no. I thought it was just suckyy for her to have to be on his timetable for when HE was ready to give her the married life and kids that she wants. But the angst was there 😂 I did skim a lot because they thought about shiet too much but I liked it 🤷

No cheating (his date with a willing holee had him running out a window to get away from her)
Some ow/om drama
Death of their friend during childbirth 😬😭
Breakup for dumbb reason ( to me 😂)
Ends with a hea (happily ever after) tho
This is book 2 and I didn't read the others in the series. I was kinda lost but I didn't care 😂🤷I do what I WANT

Book 2 of the Denver Royalty series is a second chance romance. And boy, is Brianna and Carter's story an emotional ride. This one hit me right in the feels, with sweet highs but also super sad lows. Between books 1 and 2, I have been all over the place with laughing at the Waters boys antics, sighing at the cuteness and then crying into my breakfast in utter devastation. Believe me when I say, I was in no way prepared for this book. Totally destroyed me but loved every minute of it.

I decided that when this series was being released, I wanted to go in blind. No blurbs, teasers, nothing. So when I saw at the end of book 1 that this would be Bri and Carter's story, I will admit that I was super confused on how this was going to play out. Especially how perfect all the couples seemed by the end of Never Gonna Happen. After 2 years together, Bri and Carter seemed to have the perfect love until Carter does some soul searching and realises they aren't on the same page, and that's when we are hit with the angst and the hurt. But little did I know that the worst was yet to come.

After finishing, I wonder if there will be a storyline somewhere for Bobby. He intrigued me almost as much as the Waters boys. And with Sean's book up next, I can't wait to see where his story goes. I am just itching to read it.x

⭐️⭐️⭐️.8 to ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Flirty noncommittal player that turns good just for her is always a vibe 🫠😍 they both make the best pair! This series is about the waters triplets that are mentioned in the “kings of denver” series as cass’s brothers. I wanted to read this one because it was about Bri and Carter and I loved their personalities. Bri is Cass’s best friend and roommate from the “kings of Denver” series and I love how loyal and free spirited she is. It’s a cute predictable fluff read. I do feel like I enjoyed it more because I read some of the books from the other series so I have a back story and connection with the characters and I see so much more character development from then. I was captivated throughout but also by the end literally like…. Yeah okay we get it you can’t believe you ever didn’t want this …you have only mentioned it like 100 times 🙄 sweet but meh.
I do love his jealous side 😂 I wish she started seeing the guy she met at the accident and got Carter really jealous, built a connection there where he had to win her back 😍 that would of been golden instead of the stage 5 clinger rando
I Still will read more from this author, I’m not sure if I’ll read all the other books in the series. I’ll probably read the last one later on because I want to know what happens with Sean after what happened with Sara 😢 and I hope he ends up with Gigi the nurse 🤞

Holy cow. When I say this book had me in my feelings....it had me in my feelings. All of them. Big time. This was an emotional roller-coaster that I was honestly not prepared for.

There was a moment in this book where I had my jaw on the floor and almost had tears in my eyes. And I'm telling you, I don't cry when reading. Ever. Not once. But I got close here. It's heartbreaking. It's soul mending. It's a beautiful story.

Carter, oh Carter. He could have avoided the whole needing a second chance thing but I feel like it needed to happen. Bri is such a beautiful soul. The way she loves so fiercely and completely. If anyone deserved a HEA it's her.

Cass....everyone needs a Cass BFF. Sean! Omg Sean. I'll leave it at that.

It's just a brilliant world. The way the characters grow together, the way the stories intertwine, the way they're so similar yet different. It's honestly hard to put into words how this book made me feel. It was just damn good. Prepare for the sads, the mads, the glads....all of it. Cause you're going to get it.

Wow. There comes a time when you think you know what to expect from Sheridan Anne, and then she releases this book and you have your jaw hanging on the ground.

Brianna appears in Jaxon's book of the Kings of Denver series - In Your Pucking Dreams. She is Cassie's bff and roommate. We also briefly meet Carter in this series. I am so glad that I read the Kings of Denver series, and also Never Gonna Happen to have a good base knowledge of these characters, but if you don't, you will still enjoy this story.

Brianna and Chase's story is one of second chance, but unlike many second chance books, we see the relationship first, then the fall, then the second chance part. There are lots of downs, then a giant crash, and then some amazing ups. Not going to ruin much, but it's a HEA.

Some of the best books are the ones that make you feel, and boy oh boy does Sheridan do that. Nothing like a 11pm cry-fest to get you ready for bed! Definitely check out the Denver Royalty series, which starts with Logan's book, and then right onto this story for Chase.

Over my dead body

Denver Royalty book #2

By Sheridan Anne

Rating: ⭐ 5/5

Emotions: ❤️ 5/5 🌶️5/5

What an amazing read. Cried so many ugly tears and sobbed so hard. Carter and Brianna’s story is so full of emotions. Despite loving each other they see no foundation for a relationship till the end of time.

Brianna’s wishes are so far away from Carter’s that it is tragic to read and makes you want to shake Carter real fiercely.

After an emotional and sad break up, both try to live their lives without the other one. But fate brings them together more times then it does them good.

When a tragedy crashes over the Water’s family, the events throw Bri and Carter in an emotional moment of weakness.

And now, weeks later,  Bri has a part of her dreams come true, only she has to live it by herself. But sure enough Carter is aware of things by a coincidence.

And everything changes him and his sight of his future. Convincing Bri from his new sights is on another paper, with her walls high and her trust broken, she can’t believe him.

Sometimes love is not enough. Can Carter and Brianna overcome their fears and embrace the gift they have been given and be able to let their love come alive again?

So, Carter Waters is an idiot.

Stupidly in love with his girlfriend, who happens to be his sisters bestie, he decides to break her heart because 'he can't give her what she wants'

Basically, he is trying to give her up to save her the heartbreak later on. Yeah, good luck bro.

Brianna, is, of course, heartbroken.

But thats not the hardest part of this book. OH NO. Its got a few little heartbreaks all wrapped up in it.. so please, check triggers if there are things around childbirth that trigger you.

Anyway, back to Bri and Carter. What do you do when you are in the depths of grief? Reach out for someone you love, even if you shouldn't.

Cue Bri having to make some hard choices, and Carter being the dufus we all know he is by now.

I liked this one, even with its sad moments.

💬 ℝ𝕖𝕧𝕚𝕖𝕨:

Book 2 in the Denver Royalty series follows Carter and Brianna. We have met both characters in book 1 and also briefly in the Kings of Denver series.

Carter and Bri have been together for 2 years and everything seems to be going well. Until at his sister's wedding, Bri expresses how much she can't wait until they are married and starting a family. Carter, being the reformed playboy that he is, has never imagined himself settling down or having children so he breaks things off with Bri, thinking he is doing what is best for her.

This book is a lot more emotional than I thought it was going to be. The journey that Carter and Bri, and their families go on during the book is a tough one but it all leads to an amazing HEA!!

I have loved reading about the Waters triplets so far, can’t wait for Seans story in book 3!

Over My Dead Body (formerly Carter) is book 2 in the Denver Royalty series. This series focuses on the Waters triplets (Logan, Carter and Sean). This is Brianna and Carter's story. I would absolutely recommend reading Kings of Denver, then book 1 in this series as they're all interconnected and you'll know and love all these characters!

Not gonna lie...I wanted to smack Carter upside the head on several occasions, but he truly knew (or thought he did) what he wanted in his future and loved Brianna enough to let her go and achieve the future that she wanted. My heart broke for both of them while they were apart (and don't get me started on Sean and Sara's piece in this story). Even apart they loved each other fiercely.

So glad they got their second chance and HEA. Can't wait for book 3!

Ouch.
This one hurt. Over My Dead Body takes you on an intense emotional rollercoaster. You'll experience all of the emotions.. you'll laugh (there are some seriously hilarious moments), you'll get angry, you'll get frustrated, and last but not least, you'll bawl your eyes out. Sheridan really did a number on us with this one. If you want a book that will tear your heart right out of your chest, but then put you back together again, this is the book for you.

There's not much more I can say without spoilers, and I refuse to do that to you. This is one book that you need to experience yourself. Carter and Brianna's story is beautiful and will make you believe in true love, if you don't believe already.

Sheridan, Sheridan, Sheridan. Why do you have to do me like this?

I knew things would happen.. I just wasn’t prepared ok?! My heart, along with Bri’s was ripped out and put back together. Painstakingly.

Carter had his head up is a$$ for far too long, almost so far it wasn’t going to come back out.

Reading Carter and Bri’s heartbreak, along with the family’s makes you put life into perspective. It takes a great story to make you have all the feels and Over My Dead Body is just one of those stories.

If you have read Sheridan’s work, you know you are in for one hell of a wild ride. There will be twists, turns, loops and tears but what a ride it is!

Emotional Rollercoaster!!!

Someone help me find my soul and heart they left my body early on with this book. This book was such an up and down roller-coaster of emotions that you have no choice but to pray and hold on tight. I was absolutely in love with the story, even though I yelled at the main characters 90% of the time. The drama of the plot, that is this book brings the tears and gut-wrenching pain of devastation and betrayal. Briana and Carter are end game, but it took them some deep soul searching and growing up to do before they could come back together. They get their HEA finally, and we get a glimpse into the next book of the standalones about Sean.

In typical Sheridan fashion, this book will rip your heart out and make you want to drink your feelings through the majority of it before finally giving you closure and healing! Carter and Bri's story is an emotional roller coaster for all involved while the characters navigate life, love, and tragedy. You will most likely wanna punch Carter quite a few times but then he'll eventually pull his head out and realize love is the end game. I've loved Bri since meeting her in Cassie's story so I was excited to read her story even though it made me ugly cry. Love the Denver world and highly recommend it!!

2nd Chances ❤️‍🩹

This was previously the book titled Carter. New covers, new titles, extra 5-10k words (no added scenes, more detailed, fresher!) I do wish a bonus scene or epilogue scene would have been added if SA was updating this anyway.

What a beautiful story of Carter and Brianna. You will cry and laugh.
Carter is a CEO who'll have you frothing at the mouth. He doesn’t want to commit to Brianna for marriage and children so they break up. Being apart is hard. A tragedy hits his family and Brianna steps in to help. Enter another surprise and they slowly find their way to an HEA. I only wish there were more steamy scenes but you will love all the characters ❤️

This was an okay read. I liked both characters, but they did and said things that annoyed me at times. I will say the h broke up with her for reasons that kind of make sense, but he did wait 2 years for her to fall in love with him and then drop the bomb on her. However, what annoyed me was how long it took for him to grovel and get her back. Somehow, seeing her pregnant just hit me on the head, and he knew that he actually wanted marriage and kids with her. I'm not gonna lie for 70% of the book it dragged with the same internal monologues and shit being said in ten different ways. Then you have 30% of the book that went super fast with a time skip of 4 months or something. The h always just caved in way too quickly. Now, the thing that really pissed me off was the death of a side character. What was the suppose of the death besides writing another book for the other side character who lost his wife? Her death was so unnecessary. I will say that I loved how they all came together to support one another afterward.

4.85 so emotional

Carter doesnt wanna have kids or be married bc he cant see that for him so he breaks up with his 2 year gf brianna (still cant believe we didnt see that come tgt ugh)

After 6 months they both still love eachother and keep bumping into eachother.

They hook up one night after while still being broken up and it takes her 3 months to tell him but then they fall in love again and boom they have twins

Carters identical triplet Sean’s wife died while giving birth to her baby which you’d think would add to carters fear of having a family

But it made him realise how much he wouldnt mind it

I felt my heart rip in half a couple times during this one 😭😭😭 I knew there was going to be a bit of tragedy in this one, but I was not ready for it 😭😭😭

I loved Bri and Carter, although he could use a couple of swift kicks. The way Bri is described after the first few chapters made me feel like I was living through her. She faced one of the biggest things in her life being ripped away from her because they didn't see eye to eye.

I loved that Bri grows in their time apart. She also has taken a stand with Carter and isn't a pushover. I wish their story was longer. I need more of them. I know we will see them in book 3, but I'm not ready for that emotional book...

This is book 2 in the Denver Royalty series. If your looking for a gut wrenching heartbreaking story this one is for you. The saying you dont know what you have until it gone is sooo true for this story. We have a break up between Carter and Bri ( which i can understand why) that breaks both of their hearts. As the two try and move on ( well honestly one and it half hearted attempt) tragedy hits. I don't want wanba give to much away. The connection between Carter and Brianna is there throughout the whole book. It great to see how Carter idea of the future changes in the book and how it revolves around Brianna.

Over my dead body was amazing. It was an emotional rollercoaster for sure. I enjoyed everything about this book and it sucked me into the story so much I felt like I was there with the characters. This book is not for the faint of heart it has a lot of heartbreak and touchy subjects but no one could have wrote a more beautiful story than Sheridan. The main characters were some of my favorite. Carters growth in this book is exactly what you want to see from a reformed playboy and the strength that Brianna shows is incredible! What a wonderful ready! I love the Waters boys and can’t wait for book three!!
