Ryder...
Meghan is my biggest challenge yet. With her beauty, brains, and brazen sass, she is the first girl to not fall for my charm. Until now, I’ve never had to work for a woman to want me.
I want her. I need her. I'm getting high just from her presence. I know she will cave one day, I can see it in the way she looks at me and the way her body reacts when I touch her.
With each day that passes, I can feel her giving in. Her resistance is fleeting as she slowly falls for what we could be. What I want us to become.
Unfortunately, Meghan has been hurt in the past and she's letting that influence how she feels about me. Now, I need to make sure she knows I'm not like the guys she used to know and I'm willing to do anything to show her just that.

Meghan (Meg)...
If I had learned one thing growing up, it was that life was short. After my fiance was killed in a building fire, I refused to let people in. Throwing myself into school and work, I guarded my heart and made a plan to build a future--by myself.
As hard as I try to fight Ryder and his delicious temptations, I am quickly discovering the urge to be with him might just outweigh my own stubbornness. His job is dangerous and I have already had my heart broken once before.
I fell for him hard and we both know it, but I'm the last person to admit it. Call it strong-willed, but I am not ready to have my heart broken again.
Now, Ryder refuses to give up his chase and I don't know how much longer I can fight my feelings for him. I can tell he is different, but can I really trust him with my heart?

I suggest reading the Salvation Series by Corinne Michaels before reading books in the Society, but it is not a requirement.

Key Points for this story in the Salvation Society Collection:
- Contemporary / Romantic Suspense
- Dead Fiancee and Issues with Moving On
- Injured SEAL Working with Cole Security on the West Coast
- Salvation Series connection is Jackson and Cole Security

After Meghan's fiance was killed in a fire, she's not open to falling in love again. Ever. He's a firefighter with PTSD from things witnesses as a SEAL. His team is the subject of a project at her publishing job. As he begins to worm his way into her life, she's still bent on protecting her heart. I love their email exchanges. And he gets bonus points for not giving up on her, yet not crossing the line to becoming a stalker. This is the first book I've read in this series, but it was written by an author I always enjoy.

Meg has lost someone dear to her and has closed off her heart. Ryder also has his own demons. They meet and it was an instant attraction. He tries to get her to trust again. I really loved the connection that was felt between the two. Ryder was stubborn and persistent in his quest to win Meg over. Their dialogue was funny and their interaction was wonderful. I really enjoyed the chase between the two. Great book.

Meghan has a broken heart from the loss of her high school sweetheart. She has suffered for several years and has not been able to move on. Ryder is thrown into her path and he is very persistent. Ryder will make Meghan his and will not give up until he has her. Overcoming heartache and trauma to find love again. Taking a chance.

I wasn’t quite sure how I feel about Meg being considered a “challenge” for Ryder, but you can’t deny the attraction between them—even though Meg tries to run from it. I can understand her reasons for doing so, but I had to love Ryders persistent nature. He’s such a go-getter (and quite funny at times). Can he win her affections? Will Meg let him into her heart?

I've read several books written by M.A. Lee; she has done a great job at writing a good book; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.

Meghan’s fighting her attraction to Ryder because she afraid to fall in love again because of her fiancé dying. I love their characters,

Reading about the intense feelings in this book. I welcomed the trials, the challenges, the emotional drama and the unexpected passion. The chemistry between the H and h is undeniable and unexpected. The past and memories lead to a bit of  wasted time. Connecting with the characters may come easy in this story, following the plot might not be

I liked the second chance story, as both Ryder and Meghan have had rough pasts, and so it was nice for them to have something to relate to each other with. I think Ryder had a more instant reaction to Meghan, even though there was an instant attraction between the two. The story had a bit of suspense to it, and so that could be why everything went pretty fast, not to mention that the book wasn't very long. It was nice to visit Jackson again too.

I loved that this is short so it moves quickly but it doesn't leave you wanting, unless you want more of Meghan and Ryder, because I do. They are scorching hot and I loved how Ryder sets his sights on her and goes out to prove he can be the man she needs.

Meaghan has had her heart broke by the lost of her fiancé. So now she has built a wall around it and won’t let anyone in. Ryder is determined to break through that wall. He knows she’s attracted to him. He just has to show her it’s safe to let him in and live again..
