When an arsonist destroys Windy Ridge Community Church, Pastor Dan is shaken to the core. He calls on attorney Olivia Murray and her boyfriend Grant Baxter to help secure a place for worship services. Shockingly, the City of Windy Ridge denies the church’s application to use the civic center, and Olivia brings a lawsuit to protect the church’s constitutional rights.
During this already challenging time for the Windy Ridge community, an outside pastor decides to open a place of worship within the city limits. People begin flocking to the young charismatic preacher especially since Windy Ridge Community Church lost its building. Olivia worries that this new and radical approach to faith will lead people astray, but with each passing day, his popularity continues to grow.
When the police make a surprise arrest in the church arson, the battle lines are drawn across Windy Ridge. Alliances are shaken and relationships are tested like they’ve never been before. The forces of darkness are working overtime to shake the faith of the believers. Can Olivia and Grant stand up for their faith and prevail in the battle of good versus evil?

I have been enjoying this series so much! Spiritual warfare is so real and Rachel Dylan's books in this series portrays it very well indeed. I was captivated by the first book and continue to be so. As the small town of Windy Ridge faces yet another problem after the church is burned down, a very charismatic preacher comes to town and starts a new church, where he teaches not all paths are the same. Dan, Olivia and Grant know there is something wrong and pray hard and move in the Spirit to find out. Then they are faced with a foe they thought had left town. These three soldiers of Christ must do battle in the Spirit to defeat these foes. Dylan leaves the door open here for another book/books and that makes me very glad indeed.
This book was so good. I was super excited about this new installment in one of my favorite series. It did not disappoint. It's just as good as I remember the previous ones being. It's been a few years since I read book three, but I was able to dive right back in. Didn't miss a beat at all. I loved seeing what Olivia, Grant, Pastor Dan, and Nina Marie were up to now.
The ultimate fight between good and evil is still going on in Windy Ridge. A new church has moved into town and become quite popular, all the while preaching false doctrine. It seems rather convenient that the Windy Ridge Community Church burns to the ground in an apparent arson attack and their new members start flocking to this new church. Could there be something sinister going on with this new church? Could they be behind the arson? But we can't forget about Optimism, the New Age company that's been out to get the church for years. Is the culprit an old foe or a new enemy, a wolf in sheep's clothing?
I was glued to the pages, desperate to figure out what was going on. The spiritual battles were gripping and intense. It's a very timely and important read that I highly recommend. Start with book one and you'll be hooked. This book wraps up nicely, but I really hope there are more stories to come. I love these characters and am so invested in the fight for Windy Ridge.
This was an excellent read. Again, Rachel has outdone herself, in writing about this topic of good versus evil in all its forms.
I’d love to see Rachel develop this story further, as I believe the Church and all true believers, need to grasp all that is going on behind the scenes, so to speak! Spiritual battles, as the Bible says, are taking place all around us. We don’t battle against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers of darkness - against the prince of this world - Satan, along with his demonic forces.
Thanks be to God that we have the victory in Jesus!
Highly recommended series for those who want to develop their knowledge of spiritual battles. Battles that we all face - even if we don’t know it or see it!
I have enjoyed reading Windy Ridge Series. I like the characters are very stong in their faith. Pastor Dan sure faces many challenges even form the people who should support him. When battling Satan you have to be very strong. Knowing God is on your side sure helps. I like that the core group believes that no one is hopeless that everyone can come to Christ. I look forward to another Windy Ridge Legal Thriller in the future.
The spiritual warfare in Windy Ridge ramps up, again, in this book. It's intense and has a few surprise twists, making it a thrilling page-turner. I liked what happened to lead characters, Grant and Olivia, by the end of the story.
What a fantastic ending to the series. There were some cheesy moments, but I couldn't help but cheer on the characters through all the ups and downs. One thing is for certain, the Windy Ridge series has motivated me to be persistent in prayer!
If you like Frank Peretti's This Present Darkness and Piercing the Darkness, you will love this series! Lots of spiritual battle. I enjoyed reading this whole series!
We are back in Windy Ridge for the 4th book of the series. Olivia, Dan, Grant meet the new pastor in town, Isaac. Stacey, now at the helm of Optimism is interested in seeing this new church, that is different from the rest. Engaging story, that draws you right in. We also see Nina Marie and Layton, briefly. When Stacey is blamed for burning down Pastor Dan’s church, Olivia decides to represent her. The battle lines are drawn and the opposition is stronger than before.
Author Rachel Dylan deserves more followers and praise for how dedicated she is about honoring the Lord, especially in her Windy Ridge series. I’ve been awaiting this installment for a long time, and was blown away by the truth of her words. I encourage all BELIEVERS to read this story! I did think that the ending was a bit rushed, hence four instead of five stars. But nonetheless, this is an awesome book and I hope that there are more.
