This story was great. I really loved the characters and their feelings and problems. Melanie and Fox both had a hard past that made them hesitant to fall for each other. But in the end they couldn't stop the pull to each other and their feelings. A sweet, safe, romantic, steamy story and with action in it👍👍👍 Can't wait for the other guys to get their HEA.
Wonderful!! This was a nice quick, short read. I absolutely love it.

Fox is retired military, he was injured on his last mission, now he owns a surf shop on the beach. He’s awakes one night by music and singing. He is mesmerized by the sexy voice and listens for a while. He sees Melanie hunched over a guitar crying and singing. Thinking she’s mourning over a guy he gets pissed. When they come face to face the next morning the attraction is instant but Fox is rude and Mel gets snippy, especially when he says no guy is worth crying over. The man she is mourning is her father, it’s been just the two of them her whole life, her womb donor is a money grubbing drugged out skank. When she visits the surf shop she sees him there and sparks fly again, the chemistry and attraction is hot. They finally start spending time together and she tells him about her dad. At this point Fox is all in, he’s thinking long term, never letting her go. She’s a bit more cautious. Drama when her womb donor shows up and waves a gun around trying to get a piece of the dad’s money. She defends herself but gets injured. Fox arrives home in time to help her and have the womb donor arrested. Lots of I love yous and sexy times. Epilogue eight months later with them getting married and five years later with a daughter.

Tory Baker is a wonderful author who gives you everything you are looking for in a book. This book was sweet with a little bit of steamy heat thrown in. In this book, we meet Fox Adams who is in love with the water and the beach. He is a successful entrepreneur who runs his own beach store for the locals. He is hot, funny and demanding in some cases that will just have you shaking your head. Perfect book boyfriend!!
Melanie is the heroine in this book. She just lost her dad, and is staying at his beach house for some much needed time to grieve. She is a firecracker with a lot of good banter when she meets Fox. The back and fourth between these two are sometimes hot and cold, but when Melanie opens up to Fox, it's romance in the making! This book had me laughing at times, and also...wishing when I should book my next trip to the beach. This book was short. took me under two hours to read! It was very enjoyable and 5 stars all the way.
Tory Baker's new Hot Shots series debuts with Fox - and whoa, what a hot and steamy way to kick off a new series! Surf shop owner Fox is instantly entranced by his new next-door-neighbour after hearing her singing mournfully out on the deck of her beach house rental. He assumes she is lamenting a guy, but she is in fact mourning the loss of her father who had raised her. Their first introduction is less love-at-first-sight and more adversarial - but the young Melanie quickly realizes that the veteran is a good guy - and a filthy-mouthed, sexy-as-sin, swoon-worthy one at that. Mel and Fox have intense chemistry, and together they will set your Kindle afire. With some family drama thrown in the mix, this is a fun, entertaining and very steamy read.

Tory Baker has been on my must read author list for a while now and this book only adds to that distinction. Ms. Baker has a way of drawing her readers into her books from the 1st page to the last with her fantastic storytelling and world building. Her characters are so delightfully flawed that you can help cheer for their happily ever after. Fox and Melanie's story is one of learning to survive a tragic event in you life and finding someone to help you do just that. This book has everything that you could want: comedy, action, drama, danger and of course hot romance. You will be sorry if you miss this 1st book in the Hot Shots series!

♥️🌼Fox & Melanie🌼♥️ Tory Baker has done it again!! FOX is book one of her new Hot Shots series....and I’m not surprised that I’m already anticipating the next book...♥️🌼 Fox is an ex-Navy SEAL, and a misunderstanding stops him from initially pursuing the gorgeous and grieving singer/songwriter, Melanie....This couple has chemistry for years...and I got all the feels from FOX...♥️🌼 Also, the Talented Tory found a legitimate way to connect these characters to the characters from some of her other series...and I loved this book...Tory Baker has become one of my favorite authors...and I am, in fact, anticipating the next book....♥️🌼
I loved these characters, can't wait to see what happens with this series. Melanie is grieving the death of her father, playing her heart out when Fox 1st sees ans hears her, he thinks some guy broke her heart, doesn't need a chick with heartbreak damage. So figures he will stay clear. But there's this pull, the one he would usually fight, but not this time. So when the opportunity to dive in and talk his way to her heart and show Melanie all that can be, he does. The possessive caveman has been brought out in Fox, Melanie is his. Mix this up with some danger you have the perfect steamy, loving HEA.
When his career as a Navy SEAL came to an end Fox created a new life for himself but he knew that something or rather someone was missing. Melanie is trying to heal from a devastating loss and the first step is putting some distance between her and her painful memories and is Fox’s new neighbor.
The first time they meet is when she is at her most vulnerable and the sparks fly. Once he finds out about her past there is nothing, he won’t do to protect her and help her heal as they prove that they are so much stronger together than apart.
Hot chemistry and great characters as Fox and Melanie find exactly what they need in each other.
Fox is happy being a beach bum and owning a surf shop. After being discharged from the Navy and receiving a new knee, it was time take it easy. Melanie just needed to get away from it all. Having to deal with the death of her father, and the drama her mother is giving her, Melanie needed an escape. She ends up renting the beach house next to Fox.
Fox and Melanie were perfect for each other. He supported her when she needed it. Melanie was sassy and didn’t let Fox get away with anything. Their connection was instant and it was sweet to see them coming together.

We met Fox, the former Navy Seal turned surf shop owner, in Hammered, Tory Baker’s last book. I was hoping Fox would get his own story and Baker doesn’t disappoint. Fox is just as yummy as all of her heroes and he quickly steps in to support emotionally-vulnerable Melanie. He’s strong, loving, protective – pretty much perfect. Great characters, lots of romance and a wonderful HEA (as if there was any doubt – this is a Tory Baker book after all!).

I really enjoyed this book. Mel and Fox were fantastic together. I loved the connection and the chemistry between these two. Mel is grieving the loss of her father and dealing with his estate. Fox is a true alpha and is willing to do anything to get and keep Mel with him at all times. I loved the banter between these two but also how they are able to lean on each other. I would highly recommend this book and I can't wait for Cruz's book!

The beach, a misunderstanding, a couple of tongue lashings, a drunken stumble into his bed one night, a crazy mama shootout and a guy who isn’t looking for the one but is some says the most incredible heart melting things and falls harder than most makes for an great start to a new series 😍 I loved Fox. Jax & Sloan phew they’re electric together in more ways than one. Cruz, what’s happening with you 🙄 “𝐈’𝐦 𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲, 𝐅𝐨𝐱,” 𝘐 𝘮𝘶𝘳𝘮𝘶𝘳, 𝘮𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘴 𝘬𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘬, 𝘮𝘺 𝘭𝘦𝘨𝘴 𝘸𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘤𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘦. “𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐬, 𝐌𝐞𝐥.” Be still my beating heart.
I love how Ms Baker started off this new series! Fox is all about his business and his life on the beach. That is until the sexy blonde songstress next door started serenading him. Then he stuck his foot in it and sparks fly. The snapping dialogue that flows between Fox and Melanie was highly entertaining. Then Fox surprised me with his sweetness. Once these two spend a little time together, it is obvious how perfect they are together. Watching them take on the world, together was so beautiful! Can't wait to meet the rest of the Hot Shots!
Fox is an ex Navy Seal who owns a surf shop. Melanie is his new next door neighbor and he has been listening to her sing about a lost love as she was crying and he assumed she was singing about a former lover. He is surprised to realize she is singing about her single dad who raised her and recently died unexpectedly. Melanie is heartbroken over her loss and she and Fox connect when he tells her about losing his friends in Iraq. Can they help each other deal with their losses and connect romantically?
I enjoyed this story where two strangers connected who had each suffered loses and I give the story 4.5 stars. The author did a great job detailing how they both felt and how they were able to help each other. The epilogue was a great ending for their story.

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is a short romance between Fox and Melanie. He is an ex military man turned surf shop owner. She is a damaged artist with a soul worth loving. They begin with a misunderstanding but finish with a love they always needed. I thought they both brought a lot of healing to each other. I thought the story was well written and the characters perfect for each other

Fox Adams is living the life he is happy with. Being a beach bum and having his own business is just perfect. When Melanie arrived at Kelson Beach, grieving over her dad’s passing, she meets Fox and they have a bumpy beginning when he acts like a jerk at her crying.
When Fox reaches out to offer her support, he is everything a hero should be. He gives her a strong shoulder to cry on and the emotional support she needs. Is this the start of something special between them? Or just two strangers passing along the way to something else?
This was such a wonderful romance... Increcibly well developed with amazing characters! Fox is such a swoon-worthy hero! He is charming, sweet, and alpha... what more can you as for? Melanie is a little broken after a tragedy that is threatening to consume her. He becomes her strength, her rock to lean on, her everything - you couldn´t help but fall in love with him. I loved their banter and their chemistry... they are simply hot together!

I loved this story. It was short but entertaining and enjoyable. The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. Agatha definitely had some issues that were over the top and yet not unexpected given her history. Gene was a wonderful friend and second dad to Melanie. Melanie was sweet, talented, and a bit sassy. Fox was an alpha, protective, and caring. Their relationship begins a bit awkwardly with their first encounter but grows quickly into something more. I loved their happy ever after. I recommend reading this book.
Melanie was lost after her father died. She ended up renting the place next to Fox on a South Carolina Beach. They met, they loved and it was sexy and hot and a really great story of how two people deal with two different types of grief. Grief from losing a beloved father, grief from losing a career, Fox lost his career in the service after damage to his leg. How they both overcame these together. Loved the story and the chemistry between these two. Loved his alpha tendencies too just a great love story with a HEA. Can not go wrong buying this book. Hot, sexy and fun.
I like that Fox is such a take charge guy without being an a$$. I like that he is caring and sweet and strong and protective and jealous. I like that he takes life as it comes. I like that Melanie knows herself and that she is able to decide to be happy. I like Sloane and Jax and the little glimpse we get of Cruz. I like that this is easy to read and low on angst. I like the snark and banter. A little more snark would be fun.
