Discover the truth about who really lives above and below New York City with the entire Dead City trilogy—now available in one volume!
I hate zombies. I know that sounds prejudiced and I’m sure some are probably nice to kittens and love their parents. But it’s been my experience that these are the exceptions to the rule.
Meet Molly Bigelow. She’s recruited to become a zombie hunter just like her mother. As part of an elite team, OMEGA, her job is to protect the living—and the almost living—who share the island of Manhattan. Molly has to come to terms with the idea that zombies exist, and that it’s her job to help police them and keep the peace. At the same time, she just wants to be a regular kid. But can she figure out how to do that when her mother was the most feared—or most revered—zombie hunter in the history of New York City?
Molly’s missions take her from the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade to New Year’s Eve in Times Square as her loyalties and relationships are tested.
This omnibus edition includes: Dead City Blue Moon Dark Days
James Ponti is the New York Times Bestselling author of three Middle Grade book series: the DEAD CITY trilogy about a secret society that polices the undead who live beneath New York City; the Edgar Award-winning FRAMED! series about a pair of Sherlockian tweens who solve mysteries in Washington, D.C.; and the all-new CITY SPIES about an unlikely squad of five kids from around the world who form an elite MI6 spy team.
James grew up in Atlantic Beach, Florida and lives in Orlando. He's a die hard fan of the Boston Red Sox, the USC Trojans, and the Italian National Soccer Team. He loves travel, writing, and spending time with his amazing family.
I thought it was a good book. It was about a girl who joins a group called the Omegas. Her job and the job of the other three kids in her group is to police the undead living under New York City. They have to work together to keep the undead from taking over. Eventually her family starts helping her with her Omega work.
If there's any book/series that deserves the credit of sparking my love for reading.. it is definitely a no brainer to choose this one. Of course, I've read books before this, but none has provided me the feeling of real escape the way the first book did. - I've since then, looked forward every year for the sequel.
That said, I'm reviewing this from memory of 11 years ago. So I don't know how credible this is going to be. I've read it as child, but I still remember a couple of chapters that made me not want to put the books down - and I still feel like I would enjoy reading it still, If I do so now as an adult. ---- I love the novel's take on the undead.. which is very different from those portrayed in films and video games. - Ponti didn't make them mindless and instantly violent. Rather, the undead just really means not having the hindrances that humans have: no pain at all
The world building is amazing as well. Everything is explained, from how they are undeads in the first place to what kepts them going. It's an amazing story for any ages. A great recommendation to those who wants to get into reading. That said, I'm definitely bias on that.
This was a very enjoyable book. It was a combination of the 3 books in the Dead City series. The book is very action packed. It has many parts where the characters get into fights. The fights are never the same so the book never gets boring. There are some mystery elements in the book which I find to make it more enjoyable. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes mystery, action-adventure, and zombies
