The Omega's Alphas #3

Saved by the Alphas

Rate this book
It’ll take all three alphas to see to this omega’s needs. After getting free from her abusive mate, Tracy wants nothing to do with another alpha. For omegas like her, getting involved with alphas isn’t worth the risk. However, when an old business associate of her mate threatens her, she has no choice but to turn to Sam. The detective is handsome and charming, but Tracy won’t let herself fall for that again. Five years have passed since Sam fell out of contact with his best friends, Mason and Dylan, but with Tracy in danger, he has to call in both alphas, despite the bad blood between them. Some rifts are hard to mend, and the three face more fractures when they find themselves drawn by the same omega yet again. Tracy has no idea how to deal with the three alphas, and even as the life they offer tempts her, she resists. They all bear the scars of romance-gone-bad, and the risk of giving in seems too costly. As Tracy and the alphas struggle to stay one step ahead of the men after her and the alphas work to put a broken friendship back together, they all have to fight to move forward. Can they put the past to rest or will it bury them all?

That is a book I did not expect and really a great surprise.

First, timeline is almost respected. I learned with years of reading menage romances that timeline and inconsistencies are the most difficult to achieve for an author. None of that here. Of course the timeline needed to be shortened since it is a romance. In real world a traumatized person would recover months if not years after traumatic events.

The author did her homework about domestic violence. It was not a simple “villain beat innocent wife” only. The author gave us a very believable psychological state of mind and consequences. A more complicated than most author write like “innocent delivered by alphas, falling in love and lust immediately with then”. No. The author gave me a realistic mindset.

I liked the characters. I liked the plot. I like the writing. I didn’t like the epilogue.

For me the romance was missing from the heroine at the epilogue. I wanted her to return their feelings with words and those were missing completely.

I also read one of the truest description of a menage.

Overall, it is about domestic violence but also a romance portraying what real men should be.

This is not a werewolves romance. No shifters whatsoever, yet all the symptoms 😉

I recommend.

This romance was cleanly written and well edited, with few typos or wrong word choices or incorrectly constructed sentences. However, the blurb on this novel gave me the impression that the novel I would be reading would contain exciting action and suspense. The very beginning of this novel had some action and suspense elements, as did the very end, but the 70% of this novel contained in the middle had almost no action or suspense, or really anything plot related happening at all. Hooray for more truly romantic m/f omegaverse romances where the heroes are actually heroic and not abusive sociopaths. Kudos to the author for that. However, this book was kind of a boring read and I really disliked Dylan and the way he treated the heroine. I’m not the kind of reader who has any sympathy for romance novel heroes who whine and say all women are awful because he has had a bad experience with a few. That’s toxic patriarchy in play and I have no patience for that kind of nonsense. I thought the heroine had way more cause to have the attitude that all Alpha’s are monsters than Dylan did to say all omega’s are monsters. My advice to the heroine would be to kick whiny Dylan to the curb. She deserved way better, in my opinion. Also, the heroes did not give the heroine the mating bite or establish the mating bond with the heroine at the end of this novel. I actually re-read the ending to make sure I hadn’t just missed the mating bite and the establishment of the mating bond, but no, it was completely missing as far as I could tell. I find omegaverse romances where there is no mystical or psychic mating bonds intensely disappointing, just like I find romances with cliffhanger or Happy For Now endings intensely disappointing. Only Happy Ever After endings for this reader. I do not recommend this omegaverse romance.

I really liked this standalone addition to this series. Not only is it well written but it has dynamic characters with background stories. There is amazing and sizzling chemistry between Tracy and her Alpha. I like that while Tracy's kid was not a big part of the story she was not forgotten. I really hope there are more books added to this series.

How explicit are the sex scenes – 3.5 / 5

Saved by the Alphas is the third book in the Omega’s Alphas series written by author Jayce Carter. Each book in the series tells the story of a different foursome and can be read as standalone romances. If you are like me and enjoy knowing the backstories, I suggest reading the books in order, know that it’s only a suggestion.

Saved by the Alphas tells the story of Tracy, Sam, Mason, and Dylan. Tracy’s abusive mate, Richard, recently passed away, and Sam, a detective, helped Tracy and her daughter Karen. Tracy is still scared to be around alphas after being mistreated for so many years. So, when one of Richard’s business associates threatens her, Sam steps up to protect them. Although, he soon figures out that he’ll need more help, and he asks some of his oldest friends, Mason and Dylan, to help.

Tracy is attracted to all three alpha’s, but she’s still scared to take a chance. It’s when she gets to know them all that she realizes that they also have baggage and aren’t perfect. Can the foursome learn to trust each other and help keep Tracy and Karen safe?

Another great story from author Jayce Carter!

This is my first Jayce Carter book, and it's an omegaverse story. I know, I read out of order but they're all standalones so that was fine.

I was quite on board with everything until the final climax of the story (and I'm not talking sexual climaxes here). I'm not sure that it was logical to me. Essentially the idea is to continue doing what her ex did in order to ensure that they are protected. But it doesn't seem like those kinds of bad guys would take kindly to being blackmailed.

I didn't quite like the reason why the guys had split years before. Sam didn't have a good reason for doing what he did, and it was the most despicable thing, a betrayal of his friend. And then when he finally tries to apologise, Dylan says, "It wasn't your fault" because the other party planned it and accosted him? That's no excuse! I lost respect for Sam when I found out. He's like this stand-up good guy to Tracy, but his halo got super tarnished right there.

I didn't like that Sam had been the one to help Tracy out and he had known her the longest, yet Tracy kisses Mason first -- and it seems to be an impulsive kiss -- and then gets into an argument with Dylan, and as he taunts her, she reaches out, grabs his shirt, and kisses him aggressively. I felt like... Sam helped her so much, and she hardly knew the other two men, yet she gave them liberties she wouldn't give Sam. She wouldn't let Sam touch her (although she gave him a hand job while helping him shower) but she would let Mason do it. It was like she trusted them with her body more than she trusted Sam, and that made no sense to me.

Tracy also seemed to act inconsistently. She chastises herself for becoming a mouse or shadow, agreeing to whatever her ex, Richard said and trying to please him. But she wasn't a mouse with Mason, nor was she with Dylan when she grabbed him and kissed him. She was only mousy with Sam. Tracy had been with a controlling abuser, so I can understand her trusting Mason, who is careful of her and respects her boundaries. But Dylan, who has been dismissive and cold to her from the start? What would possibly make her trust him and feel safe enough with him to allow him liberties? I didn't quite like her dynamic with Dylan; it seemed borderline dangerous.

Even though Dylan is an honourable man at heart, he had so much bitterness and at first he was determined to take it out on her. He even says he wants to f*ck her to give Sam a taste of his own medicine and to prove to Sam and Mason that omegas can't be trusted. I could understand his bitterness, but I didn't like that he allowed it to warp him and I thought he changed too fast. No one gets over such deep bitterness so quickly. I felt like there was potential for his relationship with Tracy to turn toxic due to his grudge against omegas and his belief that they are all selfish and manipulative.

Mason is pretty much a blank personality here. He's genial, easy-going, and nothing makes him stand out. He doesn't really do anything in the book. Sam appears to be incompetent at his job (stupid fellow goes rushing in like a bull and confronts the bad guy upfront without any backup and with no teeth to his threats -- and the bad guy knows it -- then gets beaten to within an inch of his life for his trouble). Dylan, as I've said, is bitter, dismissive, contemptuous, and cold. So none of the guys are really impressing me here.

It's nice that the author makes it so that Tracy doesn't need rescuing after all, but like I said at the beginning, the resolution of the issue seemed illogical.

The last thing Tracy wants, after being in an abusive relationship, is to get involved again. Especially when it involves not just one – but three! – alpha males. Three very different alpha males though, all of whom are determined to keep her on her toes. Her young daughter, Karen, remains her top priority though.

This is a full length novel which gives it time to go into detail about Tracy’s past, how she knows Sam, how Sam knows Mason and Dylan, etc. It isn’t rushed in any way which made it a delight to read. It was great to see not only Tracy grow and thrive, but Karen too. Dylan also has to have his epiphany and ‘Come to Mama’ moment, so having time to read about each character without feeling like it is rushing to the end was wonderful.

The world-building is excellent and the characters likeable – apart from those you’re not supposed to! The author definitely researched the emotional and psychological states of an abused spouse and was able to eloquently give that information to the reader without it being an info-dump.

This book does share some page time with Claire, Bryce, Joshua, and Kaiden from book one, Owned by the Alphas, but you don’t have to have read that for this one to make sense. This was a brilliant read, thoroughly enjoyed by me, and highly recommended.

As with Jayce Carter's other books in this series, Saved by the Alphas was a delightful mix of steamy sex scenes and intriguing plot. Tracy, the main female character, really spoke to me on a personal level due to her history of being in an abusive relationship and the mess it leaves you in once you're finally free. Jayce got so much of Tracy just so perfectly right, and I love her for it! Not only did she show the pain, the fear of trust and of men/alphas, she also showed the determination and the constant courage women go through as they fight to reclaim, remake, rebuild themselves after an abusive relationship.

Of course, the three Alphas were HOT, but Dylan also spoke to me on some level with his bad boy, devil may care attitude. I absolutely loved that he didn't treat Tracy like a delicate flower, despite her history, but helped her set the bar high and held her to her own expectations. All around, this is just a fantastic book!

This book is about a woman who has been abused. Her husband now gone, she tries to build a new life with her daughter but the past keeps her up at night. She is scared of men but finds one that makes her feel safe. When he is injured, trying to help her, she finds it her place to take care of him. But the return of two of his brothers (friends) finds herself attracted to all of them. Still it is not easy to give in to them and allow for more.
A gripping tell about overcoming fear and letting others love you. That a woman broken can be healed. That none should give up on living just because of something terrible from the past might haunt you.
This is the 2nd book I have read from this author and what I find in her books is not just some steamy hot guys with some really good sex scenes. Her books start with a depression, an unsureness, and leads up to a happy ending.

This is the third book in the series but each one can be read on its own although personally I think they are better read in order. This book is Tracey's story after years with an abusive mate she and her daughter are finally free after he passes away. Sam is a detective who has helped her out in the past when he finds out she is in danger again he steps in to protect them but quickly realise's he needs more help and asks his friends, Dylan and Mason, to help. She is attracted to them all and they had great chemistry I enjoyed watching her learn to trust and love again this was a really enjoyable read.

Omega Tracey (FMC) has had a hard life. Struggling with anxieties from years of abuse at the hands of her recently deceased Alpha husband shes trying to piece together a new life with her daughter - Karen. Until things from her old life come back to threaten her new one. With the help of 3 Alphas - Sam, Mason and Dylan she has to learn to get past her fears and learn to trust. I just wanted to hug Tracey in this book. She was so painfully shy, scared and anxious that you couldnt help but feel for her and her sweet daughter Karen. Wiling her to get a HEA ending. This is a sweet and steamy read. Its so good

Great addition to the Paranormal Romance genre!

The writing draws you in and keeps you involved throughout the whole story, I found myself in love with not only the characters but also the world that was created.

The descriptions of the characters and their feelings are so involved, you can truly picture it in your mind. Their attitudes toward the events that are happening makes the story even richer.

I am voluntarily reviewing this ARC provided by the author thru Bookstrand. This world of the Alphas and Omegas that Jayce has created has me hooked. Even as I review Tracys story, I am counting down to the next book. Tracys abuse kept her from getting close to Sam no matter what she craved with her heart. She feels she must stand alone while raising her daughter. Sam gets hurt trying something he thought would keep her safe. When he wakes in the hospital, his two best friends have been called as his emergency contacts. The problem being is that Sam, Mase and Dylan had broke their friendship up over a woman years prior. Now Tracy is not only hiding from some bad men, but she is now overwhelmed with the three alphas squaring off while trying to protect her. She does not want to feel anything for them. Can these men get over the past mistakes involving another woman to keep her alive? Tracy has so much thrown at her at once and has no idea of her strength. She feels ashamed, weak and unworthy. But she has three mates who will support her even while learning to work together as a unit again. I highly recommend this book. You will not be disappointed

This is the third book in this series. Each one is the story of a group of Alphas and their Omega. Each one can be read as a standalone. The story will keep you interested to see if they get their happy ending. The characters fit well together and evolve well, their chemistry is sizzling. I look forward to read more from this series.

I enjoyed this new "Omega's Alphas" story. It's a sexy reverse harem romance with a touch of action and suspense. This is not one of my favorite in this series but it is interesting. Tracy, Sam, Mason, and Dylan are good together. She has just escaped an abusive alpha and is not interested a new. Can they win their mate over?

I was very surprised with this book and would definitely recommend this one. This story does feature some domestic violence but has a strong female lead and men to show how a women should really be treated.

Just too flowery in every description. A 10 minute love scene is 8 minutes of flowery thoughts. Constant 2-3 minutes of flowery descriptions per minute of story. I had to skip a lot... ;(

Great Book To Read

I’m glad that Tracey found the strong woman that she knew she could be. I Love that fact that Sam, Mason and Dylan all took their time to allow Tracey to get to know them all. To build up her trust with each of them. That each man knew exactly what Tracey needed when she needed it.

Little Karen is the bravest little girl. Standing her own ground in a situation. Showing courage of her own at a young age. How very strong she is too.
