The whole book sounds more like a gossip. Every now and then author mentions "a family she personally knows" or "her student" and describes their personal situations. And people love gossips, that is why the book is easy to read and understand. What I don't like is a constant desire to show the author's family as a kind of standard, like they found answer to every family-problem question in the world. A bit boasting, and definitely not true.
