Biography

MATT SHAW was born, quite by accident (his mother tripped, he shot out) September 30th 1980 in Winchester hospital where he was immediately placed on the baby ward and EBay. Some twelve years later (wandering the corridors of the hospital and playing with road kill when he was on day release), the listing closed and he remained unsold, he was booted out of the hospital to start his life as a writer and hobbit – beginning with writing screenplays and short stories for his own amusement before finally getting published when he was twenty-seven years and forty-five seconds old.

Once Published weekly in a lad's magazine with his photography work, Matt Shaw is also a published author and cartoonist. Has to be said, can be a bit of a flirt and definitely, without a shadow of a doubt, somewhat of a klutz.

Modern Werewolf take from a Master

It's Matt Shaw, but he is being reserved(for him) while telling a modern version of the werewolf mythos. Great fun, as with all his books, well...the Extreme ones need some.preparation and a few drinks. This one, straight out creature feature goodness.

A bunch of desperate strangers are lured to a large stretch of forested property with the promise of a large sum of money. The catch? They only have to find their way back to the mansion before the night ends.

Usually, I enjoy Shaw's work and always read them with a grain of salt. But this collection of series didn't do it for me. The characters felt overall weak and shallow, more written for the shock factor and to be cannon fodder.

There is a solid story beneath the shock and splatter, but all three of the novellas, even combined, are too short to do it justice, and the end felt like an up-sell for another book series. If Matt were to take this on and do a rewrite, growing the characters and adding depth, I would totally read it.
