I found this book to be tighter and better written than the first two books. The first 75% of the book was hard to put down. Then a couple of chapters serving no purpose (like chapter 28) were inserted slowing down the whole story. There were places where I was sure I had figured everything out but then a few chapters had some misdirection and I questioned myself. In the end I was right. There was one unexpected development at the very end that was shocking and gruesome. I don't want to include any spoilers, so I won't say anything more. There was also one illogical thing after Zoe went upstairs.
Not sure why the editors didn't catch the date mistake on Chapter 12. Chapter 11 was Sunday, May 30th; Chapter 12 was listed as Monday, June 1st but it couldn't have been Monday since that would have been May 31st.
I was on the fence about reading the whole series, but this book will definitely keep me invested in the series. Hope the next one is as good.

Intense suspenseful mystery
This third book in the series is a bit different than the first two. Less actual action on Blake’s part, more ruminating, about both the missing child situation and his personal situation. Nonetheless it is just as compelling.
Blake is asked by Harrison to help out with a family situation for a friend. What Blake thinks will turn into a simple hack into the kid’s cell phone and find a runaway turns into so much more. And while trying to figure out what’s going on it gives him some insight into his personal situation.
There are several mysterious aspects to the situation and lots of intricate and clever red herrings. The climactic events are tense and the resolution exciting and head scratching. And then just to ratchet up the series suspense factor the book ends on a somewhat mysterious note.
I’m ready to dive right into the next book.

A body of a murdered girl is found, but it is not Lucy. Blake is on his own this time, and as things seem to be more complicated, Blake wishes his team was with him. L.T. Ryan and Gregory Scott deliver a story that keeps you guessing who the killer might be. They have twists and turns so you don't want to put down the book. Immediate impressions on completing the book were this was very lightweight with no capturing storyline. It endeavoured to shock with gross murder elements that were very brief and failed to add substance or context to the over all story. Compared to the previous 2 books in the series that were absolute page turners. I have put it down to a transition book to laying the foundation for the next in the series of Blake Brier, his team and future relationship with Haeli which is to unfold.
Overall "Uncharted" was pretty disappointing for me hence 1 star where as the first 2 books I gave a hard 5. Great stories. Lets hope the next ones are a return to form.

Blake has as severe case of depression. He's an elite operator temporarily benched. He has been as been contacted by someone , a dear friend who hasn't spoken too for a long time. close to the heart personal issues.Her daughter has gone missing. Numerous young girls in fact. The small town is limited in their resources to investigate. The person responsible is no one anyone would suspect. Even Blake was fooled. This is an excellent read!!!! Enjoyed immensely!!

Good Thriller.
A good if at the start slow thriller that has Blake coming to terms of lost love and decisions about his new lover all while being called by his lost loves sister to find her missing daughter. The emotional mix and flashbacks has Blake not as switched on as usual resulting in him being deceived by to all appearances a handicapped man. While other girls go missing with some being murdered Blake through luck and letting his guard down becomes the hero and rescuer. A good story of people’s emotions with little violence in the mix.

Off Course
If I've got it right, Blake's new superpower is to be a sensitive and patient listener. And, oh yes, it helps to have a hard skull. Bumbling his way to a totally uninspired denouement was painfully frustrating to watch. And let's not forget the civics lesson in small town personnel management; had me begging for more scintillating South County politics.
To say this latest book was a letdown doesn't give enough credit to its pedestrianism. Dreck.

I Wanted Different - This is Different
I mentioned that plots overlap in action thrillers. There's only a few stories and they've all been retold in many volumes. However this one is deeply different from the first two of the series, different but good. This is a whole other story from a whole other genre, that of crime thrillers.
A well told story with neat twists and a satisfying conclusion.

Uncharted
Blake does a favor for Andy Harrison, Anja's FBI partner, but it turns out to be for Anja's sister Christ's and her wife Gwynne. Their adopted daughter, Lucy, has disappeared and need his help to find her. The culprit that kidnapped several girls, killed two and maimed one is a shock to everyone. He is killed by one of the girls as they are escaping with Blake, Lucy is fine physically but has matured drastically. Blake gets home to a note from Haeli, she's left.

I am sooo tired of violence against women and especially girls. When will we have stories of the Bad Guy violating machismo men…targeting football players, lumberjacks, wrestlers….?
Add in split personality and I am so glad that I stopped listening to the audiobook and jumped ahead to the last 45 minutes, confirming what was obvious.
This book has an overall rating of 4.42. It’s saddening to believe so many people have such low standards.

I like this character however, the author takes him from highly intelligent, intuitive, self aware to an all the opposite of that. I am not sure we needed the Onya closure in the form of her sister. This one seemed more like a I phoned in vs a good installment of what was a promising formula. I will try another installment of this series but will gladly move on if it is not on track with the original premise of a highly trained and technologically advanced operator.

Wow this series is hitting the nail perfectly in each book in terms of narration, characters and the ability to grasp the readers attention. Beautiful book and not what I expected, even when I was half way through it never thought the book will end like this. Wow genuinely stunned to be honest. And the way the author took through with a medical condition was brilliant.

Definitely a great 2nd chapter. Really enjoyed the plot. Keep you really on your toes. But what a great idea to forge his FBI identity using his ex credentials . But in the end it worked. Hopkins really stepped up. So he made his mark on that case . To bad Haeli left. He was absolutely committed. But maybe she will come back. 10 stars plus !!!! Thanks, Carl Clause

I enjoyed books 1& 2 in this series and then this one goes off the rails.
Unnecessary graphic details and it felt scattered. Just kept adding unrealistic moments and it felt like the author had run out of material so he just had to add more and more gore to keep things interesting. It did't work.

I believe this was the best of the Blake Brier's I have read. The story line was so compelling and real. It is frightening to think that there are psycho's everywhere and one must be on guard and careful all the time. Expect the unexpected always!

Disturbing descriptions at the end
Enjoyed the book until the end , where I wish I had skipped over the descriptions of conditions, especially of Cathy,
I don't need those graphic images in my mind, and they added nothing to the story.

If you’ve read this book as a stand-alone book, go back and read the other two. Blake Briers, flawed, haunted, holds to that moral code when someone reaches out for help.
This book has a couple of twists that, well I certainly didn’t get.

A good thriller set in the confines of Jamestown, RI. The detective, Blake, tracks the clues that lead to the discovery of the unsuspected killer who stows his captives on Gould Island. It was a gripping read over 2 short days.

Page turner
This was a very interesting story with lots of twists to it. Definitely have to read to the end to get closure for the story. Horrific events, sad, and thankfully a peaceful ending.

not near as good as others from this author
The story never really flowed, it jerked from one side to the other. The characters didn’t come alive they were forced and artificially “woke”. Need to back asleep. Adios

Blake is working alone in Uncharted areas in the third book of this series. Kinda miss his buddies but he needs to think about the future. Onward to book four to see if the joking camaraderie returns.

Great story with a surprising twist
What starts out as a simple missing teenager situation becomes much more. Blake goes to Rhode Island to help an FBI friend. I stayed up late to finish the story. I never would have guessed the twist.

This book, number three in the Blake Brier series, was more captivating than the first two installments.
Can't help but notice some evocation to the Jesse Stone novels.
It's worth a read for murder mystery fans looking for the next series pleasurable feast.

A page turner
The suspense was amazing but that final shock was just hands down one of the BEST parts about this book and seriously makes me want to read it again now that I know ! This was an incredible story by far!!!

Good book, but I was disappointed. The lack of the team and the story line was such a departure. Make Brett a different character and release it asa mystery to get 5 stars
