Absolution Point: The Imperium is the first Book of the most epic series compiled by Adam Scott. I am usually very picky while choosing a fantasy series. This happens to me all the time as there can only really be a focus on so many characters that take the epic-ness. But Adam has put an amazing sense of imagination into his series and that is something that has yet to be seen in epic fantasy. He has created the standard for what is truly epic.
The story revolved around two principal protagonists Matthew Hawkes and Rowan Tannenbay. Matthew being a young boy has been forced into a prison camp where his life takes a turn after meeting with the Imperial guard. The book has a series of surprises that drew me towards the story, and it was too hard to put it down.
Another reason to read this series is what I call the Superman phenomenon. Adam has created characters who have it all when it comes to Sci-fi military prowess or swordsmanship or you name it. They are all powerful and when they clash it will blow your mind.
The language is simple and easy to read. I am still not out of the reading hangover that I got after reading this book. I am very much excited for the next book in the series and I am waiting to know what happens next. At an outset, I would say Adam has brilliantly introduced the greatest epic fantasy series ever and I would rate this book with 5 out of 5 stars without even a second thought.
