The Grey Wolves #7.6

Resounding Silence: A Grey Wolves Novella

Rate this book
The events chronicled herein occur after the destruction of Reyaz the Warlock, which was recounted in Sacrifice of Love. A few months of peace were enjoyed by the various supernatural races before an increase in attacks by vampires in the human realm, which was recounted in Den of Sorrows, forces the elves, fae, and werewolves to go to battle once again.

Duty, sacrifice, service, and discipline. These were the characteristics that described Cyn, the warrior fae. Though love was out of her reach, she thought this life was all she needed. She had never been more wrong. A chance meeting with the Prince of the Elves turns her carefully structured world upside down.

Thalion is loyal to his people above all else. As the prince of the Elves, it is his duty to protect them. His loyalty has never been in question. But then, he's never met anyone like Cyn before.

The destiny of both their races may hinge on whether an elf and a fae can overcome their differences and face an uncertain future together.

Hello, Readers. My name is Quinn Loftis and I am lucky enough to call myself a novelist. In 2011, I self-published my first novel, Prince of Wolves with no expectations, other than my friends and family might purchase the book out of pity. Now, several years later, with 30+ novels and counting under my belt, Prince of Wolves had been downloaded over 1 million times. Though I was hesitant at the time to submit my work to the world for their scrutiny, I'm so glad I did. It made my dream of making a living by telling stories a reality.

I'm blessed to share my household my wonderful husband of more than twenty years (who also co-writes with me on occasion), three beautiful sons, a French Bulldog, and an oversized tabby cat. I love hearing from readers, so if you have any questions about the books or my journey, don't hesitate to hit the 'Contact Quinn' in the menu above. Thank you so much for taking a chance on my books.

Amazing

Here is yet another exemplary example of an author that can build characters and worlds in such a way that you are engrossed in their lives, loves and journey. Cyn became an integral member of the grey wolves cast as she aided them in their battles against the evil that was plaguing our world. It was lovely to see how the character had been developed and the depth of her relationship with thalion.

Simply brilliant

The wonderful grey wolves novella number two. Set after the events of Reyaz’s defeat in sacrifice of love. I loved this book and getting to see the romance and tension and the full story between Cyn and Thalion. Highly entertaining and enjoyable book to read. A cute little novella to read in between grey wolves books.

A month has passed since Reyaz defeat, and the love between the elf prince Thalion and the fae warrior Cyn has been going strong as it has the last centuries. However Cyn is fearful of binding her soul to Thalion in case she has to leave him and be mated to a wolf like Peri, Elle and Adam have. She gives him her heart and love but not bind their souls together in a mating ceremony which hurts and frustrates Thalion who gives her an ultimatum all or nothing and agrees to give her space to think on her decision. In the meantime both Cyn and Thalion recount their first encounter and every encounter afterwards to a friend Thalion to the dying Reeves, and Cyn to Peri than Alina after the later is kidnapped by peri. They comfort her and encourage her to look deep within herself. With the assurance of the great Luna she chooses Thalion. Thalion has always known Cyn was his mate thanks to the three fates visiting him and telling him that he will need her by his side as they fight against a darkness within his kingdom

I want to preface this by saying that, typically, I don't read novellas. Those inbetween books that get written after the main books in a series are already written and done. But, as this was written by Quinn Loftis, I made an exception. She is by far my favorite author, and I will read everything she writes.

Sacred Silence, which I read just before this one, wasn't my favorite. Still good, but not my favorite. This one though? Oh, I loved this book. Couldn't put it down, finished it the same day I started reading it. (It was short, so it wasn't hard to read in a day, but still...)

It's about Cyn and Thallion, and it made me smile non-stop. And I know I already said it, but I just couldn't put it down. In the moments I actually did have to put it down, I found myself in that place where you are suddenly annoyed to have to do anything aside from read. (Such as eat, clean... breathe).

Quinn never ceases to deliver wonderful stories full of humor, love, hope, suspense, and everything else I love to have in a book. This novella, while short, spicy, and sweet; was no exception. Can't wait to move onto start reading the Gypsy Healer series. (According to her website, that's the next book I should start reading to stay in order.)

Five amazing stars. I'd give more if it were possible. :)

I really enjoyed this addition to the Grey Wolves series. While Jen, Jacque and Sally are usually center and essential to the GW books, this once centers around Cyn, the Fae warrior and he Elven Prince, Thalion. The troublesome trio is mentioned in passing but we don't see them here. This book is all about Cyn and Thalion. Each of them retells their love story to an audience. Thalion recounts his story to a dying friend, Reeve, and Cyn recounts her story to Alina nd Peri. We also get to see a quick glimpse of The Fates and The Great Luna. Cyn and Thalion, while not major characters in any of the previous books, are still a great pair and their story is definitely a love story for the ages. The amount of time and effort that Thalion put in to pursuing Cyn is EPIC. Well done to him! I understand her hangups, but he is a seriously patient man. Well done to the author for another amazing story.

A novella about Cyn and Thallion’s beautiful love story of how they met, how he patiently waited for her as she fought their attraction and then finally decided to be together.

Starts with Cyn as a young girl in warrior training. Then the story switches back and forth between two conversations as each tells their side of the story to a good friend looking for advice on their future together. The ending is so sweet it made me smile.

There’s also some interesting moments at the end between Alina & Vasile and Peri & Lucian.

Fave scenes: the dead horse, abducting Alina, ‘dark and stormy night’ and Cyn & Thallion sparring.

********** Contains Spoilers**********

I’ve read this book, and the rest of the Grey Wolves/Gypsy Healers Series a few times since I was first recommended Prince of Wolves on Amazon back in 2013, but I’ve never gotten around to posting a review so here goes. I enjoyed this book. This book shows Cyn, a Fae Warrior and Thalion, the Prince of the Elves Centuries in the making love story. Cyn, is all about duty, sacrifice, service and discipline and she didn’t think that love could be a part of being a Fae Warrior, but a chance meeting with Thalion the Prince of Elves turns her life upside down.

Thalion, is loyal to his people above anyone else. His loyalty has never been in question, well that’s until he meets Cyn, as there’s no one like her. Thalion wants every part of Cyn, as Elves are more like Wolves in that regard but Cyn’s worried that she can’t offer him the same now that the Great Luna is matching Fae and Canis Lupis together, so she’s worried that she has a mate out there. Even though her heart and soul recognised that Thalion and her have a connection from their first meeting, but due to her duty as a Fae warrior she kept her distance.

I think that Cyn and Thalion are great together. I loved seeing Cyn and Peri’s friendship throughout this story, especially how much enjoyment Cyn got out of annoying Peri while she was recounting her and Thalion’s courtship that spanned Centuries to Peri and Alina. Cyn was confused about what to do with Thalion, so she needed some advice. I’m looking forward to reading Luna of Mine next, and getting to read how Vasile and Alina’s love story started. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.

This novella is connected to a series that is essencely about a pack of grey Were-wolves, but with other races in the story two. It pinpoints Cyn, a relatively young, or at least younger than many of her people who live a very long time, who is a Fae warrior. She was trained from childhood for this and sees it as her entire purpose in life.

It has been a bit of time that some of the Faes have started to marry into with members of the wolve pack and Pery, Cyns master Fae is one of those that has. However Cyn is taken aback when she finds herself attacted and found atractive by the King of the Elves, Thalion. We get to follow her as she spends years, many years, fighting the attraction between them because of her commitment to the job of being Fae warrior and protecting all magical and maybe even human species. We even get to see her in battle against a throlls that attack some pixies, an entirely unbalance battle indeed with the pixies being so small and all.

Cyn gets counseling from friends to live her life, but she still struggles. There were times when even I found myself getting irrirated at her stubborn resistance to the idea of being loved and loving who she really wanted.

I don't know who I would recommend this novella to. I admit it is not my favorite listen, however it is fairly short. I am just not big on were beings but leaving them out, it seemed to drag on too long in addition.

The universe has a way of bringing them together. Once Cyn stops fighting it and accepts it, she realizes he was something good that she needed in her life. Something that makes her a little less robotic. I enjoyed the love connection between, especially of how even over the centuries, the love wasn't lost to the Prince. He loved her just like the first day he met her and even after she tried keeping away they would always find each other.

Out of order...
This seemed out of order, we needed this one before they were married. I thought the two had spent way more time apart then they had and also had more interactions. I'd love to read a series centered around these two, Thalion being knocked off his throne so easily took away from their strength. This gave some much needed background on the two but I'm still thinking this read is a bit too late.

Loved this story! Loved the story of Cyn and Thalion! Also this story gives some nice background on Perizada and Lucian! The struggles from Perizada makes so more sense now. I love how every character has a storyline and you can read about the struggels and feelings of them all. I like it when you get depth in various characters. Not just one main character. Its such a shame that when I am caught up on this series it will be a long time waiting for the next book......

Resounding Silence

I like anything Quinn Loftis writes, she is totally awesome. My favorite is the Grey wolf series. As for this book it helps to understand Cyn & Thalion. Like every other couple that mates their lives are filled with trials and tribulations. What doesn't kills us makes us stronger. With all the have been through and the future, they are like super heroes.

Cyn, the fae, and Thallion, the Elf Prince have a long over due attraction for each other. This short story allowed so much background information into their love story. I loved the foreshadowing for the continued up coming story lines. Evil is coming and knowing that both Cyn and Thallion have major parts to play is interesting. Loved this novella!

When I first read about Cyn, I wasn't a huge fan but she grew on me but after reading about her relationship to Thalion I've begun to like her a lot more because she's finally opened up and it helped to hear about her worries because it made her seem more "human".

But I also loved that Peri and Alina had to help Cyn in order to officially make a decision about Thalion.

Peri has quickly found a place in my heart along with all the others in this series but MAN!! Cyn is surely earning her place there too. I loved this little behind the scenes look of Cyn and Thalion. Reliving their story gives so much more weight to these characters and I think it’ll add so much more to the series moving forward

I loved this novella! Such a sweet story. I love Cyn and Thalion from the beginning so I was looking forward to this and it didn't disappoint. Although I feel like there were some unresolved issues that were mentioned throughout the book and I have one interesting theory so we'll see if there's gonna be more about that later on.

Loved this book. This is the story of Cyn of the Fae and the Prince of Elves, Thalion. Not as much drama and action as in previous books but was a very intensive story for decades and decades of their lives, mainly Cyn running from Thalion. Very well written and so glad the author included it in this series.

As always a great book

Great novella for the Cyn/Thallion duo. It’s written in a different way than the other books in the series, which makes total sense since it’s intention is to show their history. For sure a light great read.
