It ends so abruptly
I get it. This is only like 33 pages. But the way it ended has me questioning things. I just finished a book that was shorter and I believe their HEA more than this one.
Johnson’s (33) the office manhoooar. Girls around the office talk about how big his d is and how skilled his tongue is (yes… so romantic🙄😐). The first page alone depicts how skeevy he is- he’s checking out one of his colleagues that ISNT the h…
No, the heroine Kit is a thicker, curvy girl who doesn’t wear skintight pencil skirts like the woman he was checking out. So he thinks he’ll f her so that they can work out their tension since they’re in competition with each other. He tells her he’ll do HER the favor of f’ing her so they can maybe get along better… and she doesn’t say yes. In fact, she gets p!ssed off at him (luckily, he feels bad… for a little bit at least).
SPOILERS
Look. I love me a reformed manhoooar who’s cocky and confident, but Johnson’s prideful and doesn’t wanna apologize for being an a$$ earlier, and he doesn’t change much…
In fact, he thinks about others’ boobs being smaller around the office when he’s with Kit. Sigh. I didn’t feel how special or different she was to him. And she also doesn’t necessarily make it easy. She mentions that the girls around the office were right about his d being big 🤦🏻♀️ like out loud to Johnson 😐🙄.
I mean. The 🔥 scene was hot. Even their first kiss was 🥵. If the ending hadn’t been so abrupt and I felt like Kit was special not just another office f for Johnson, then I would’ve rated this higher. It has the type of tension I love (enemies to lovers), but I wanted more.
Also. Knowing he’s such a hoooar, why doesn’t Kit even ask or talk about using protection 😐. Sigh.
It was a quick read, but I just wish it was longer (or that at least the ending wasn’t so abrupt).

What woman really wants a guy to say sh*t like this to them? Let me "do you a favor" and then all it takes is some sexy talk and a kiss and she's ready to spread her legs for the office man-whore? Based on the write-up, I thought he would actually humble himself, but he didn't. He never lost that "I am God's gift" attitude, and she was okay with that. Have some respect for yourself because he sure as hell doesn't.

This is part of The Curvy Girls Sins series each can be read as a standalone in under an hour or so with a sexy guy and the women who could care less about him or his abilities which drives him crazy. Johnson sexy as all get out alpha male a lady’s man to all the ladies in the office who are always gossip about his abilities outside of the office and he is proud. Kit smart isn’t like most women she is curvy has been overlooked by most guys because of her curves works with the man who is gossiped about daily she hears it will agree he is a jerk often times so when he offers to do her a favor for favors in the bedroom returned well that just turned her off and made her a little upset with the implications throwing him out of her office. Johnson knows Kit doesn’t need a man to help her she is gorgeous and her curves are driving him crazy but how can he get through to her both are attracted to each other the attraction is instant, it is intense and the magnetic pull is there between them but his reputation proceeds him stopping her from entertaining the thought of being with him but can he convince her that he is sorry, he is willing to beg for her forgiveness just to be with a goddess like her but will she accept his apology giving him a chance and can they have something more like happiness?.

Pride is the first book in The Curvy Girl Sins series. This is an OTT office romance between two "frenemies" who become a lot more quickly. Johnson is an arrogant and dirty-mouthed man who has more pride than brains. But he does know what his best assets are and that includes his mouth. As the women in the office swoon over him Kit is the only one to rebuff him in every way. Sure he is handsome and the women in the office talk about his assets but Kit is focused on her career and clients. Johnson's pride gets him into more trouble with Kit and he will soon learn that just a smile does not get him fix it. He is going to have to learn that pride cometh before the fall and he is going to fall to his knees for Kit.
This is a dirty smexy story that was a mix for me. I really wanted to cuff Johnson upside his head while also reporting him to HR. I loved Kit for her strength and focus, but was a bit disappointed that she gave in so easily to Johnson's naughty mouth. Overall this was a smutty fun read with a bit of drama.

Kit and Johnson work together at the same office. He's the master salesman and the office playboy, as lots of ladies are gossiping about his skills in the after work department. He implies that having sex could improve the rivalry between Kit and him and gets thrown out of her office. This is one of those stories in which he's got abs and she thinks she's too curvy for his tastes.
I wanted Kit to make him suffer and grovel for longer because frankly, he was a bit of a jerk but this story was not long enough for that, she gives in pretty easily. This took about twenty minutes to read. They share a meal and a sexual encounter and that's about it. There are no promises of forever but plans are made for a repeat rendez-vous.
Favorite part: The sales talk was amusing.
Pet peeve: Unprotected sex although it's clear he gets around. Have some self-respect, Kit.

Sparks fly as Johnson and Kit work together. Johnson wants Kit and isn't afraid to let her know it. However he takes it too far one day and she makes it clear to him that he'll have to apologise to her if he wants her. He realizes that she is worth apologising for wronging so he sets about finding a way to fix things between them. Its not long before he is taking her to lunch. Things heat up between them after work can they have something more or just a fling?
This is a short and steamy story to wet your appetite. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

I liked this short slice of life story. It was entertaining and enjoyable. The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. Johnson was the typical lead sales guy that you would expect. He's the best (at everything!) and he's not afraid to let everyone know it. Kit also works in sales but she is serious and is bigger than most of the women in the office are. I liked Kit (until she became another checkmark) and disliked Johnson There was a tiny bit of drama but it resolves SUPER quick. There wasn't a happily ever after or anything like that. Maybe a happy for now? I recommend giving this book a chance as you may like it more than I did (Maybe it's just a ME thing!).

Apology orgasms?
I am sorry, we need far more than apology orgasms from Johnson. I think he is supposed to be cocky, confident and charming, but I just found him demeaning, inappropriate, crude and one second from a sexual harassment suit. He doesn't just nudge the line of acceptance, he throws his whole body way over with no remorse shown and does it repeatedly. I am amazed that even though Kit is insulted and angry, she still gives into him...I liked Kit upto this point, but as soon as she allowed Johnson to step over the line again I lost respect for her.
Don't get me wrong love a sexy, steamy novella with suggestive flirting or dirty talkin' and lots of action, but I struggled to fit Johnson and this into any of those boxes.

Johnson deems himself as a gigolo. He isn't afraid to show a woman a good time and doesn't kiss and tell afterwards. He has his eye set on Kit from the office where they both work. When Johnson puts his foot in his mouth, he needs to show Kit an apology and that he isn't that type of guy. But in the end, will Kit accept his apology? These two are fun to watch the banter that they have for each other. Kit is able to handle herself very well and gives Johnson a run for his money. This is a short and fast read that I could have kept reading!

Pride can be dangerous. In this book Johnson has definitely too much pride. His boss, Kit, is not afraid to call him out on it. Johnson is so prideful that he missteps and insults Kit. He knows that he has to make things right, so his quest begins.

This is a quick and steamy book about a curvy girl and her coworker. Johnson is the embodiment of pride; he is very arrogant and thinks the world of himself. Kit knocks him down and makes him swallow his pride a bit if he wants to play with her curves. It’s short so it’s a HFN.

Are you kidding me?
It just stops, the end with no real ending. I honestly did not like this book at all. Characters were not great, story could have been good but lacked feeling. Just a book of sex in the office nothing more.

Wonderful!!
What a great lunchtime read!! The chemistry between Kit and Johnson is off the charts! Reading as Johnson trips over himself to get Kit’s attention was so much fun. Lookout when these two connect, it’s HOT! Can’t wait to jump into the next book in the series.

A great short story from the amazing Kelsie Calloway. Kelsie always gives us the greatest characters and stories. I love Johnson and Kit she is strong and definitely deflates Johnson down to size. A huge fan of everything this author writes.

Kit and Johnson had very strong chemistry and both were very stubborn in their own ways. This was a good short instant love story with hot, steamy scenes and some good banter. This is a definite must read.

I got what was present to me in this short story. A work place/enemies to lovers/ relationship with benefits romance. Could this be developed out into an actual story with plot? Probably. Was it good fluff/spice to fill some time? Tolerable.
