Ryan I am not a rancher. My father was. But now that he’s gone, my finance analyst background needs to work out what to do with Sweetheart Mountain Ranch, a legacy I don’t know how to properly run and can’t afford. This place used to be a refuge for troubled youths, but the books don’t lie. There’s no money here. Only debt. I can’t keep this place going. Not for my father. Not the for town. Not even for the arrogant suit insisting I take his definitely-not-a-teenage daughter off his hands. I’m not equipped to tame a wild woman. Even if she is the prettiest set of curves I’ve ever seen.
Rory I am not a teen. Nor am I wayward. But my father is insisting I learn a lesson or two about the ‘real world’ before I’m given any kind of access to the trust my grandfather put aside for when I turn twenty-one. I fail to see how working on a ranch is a window into reality. I mean, how many ranchers does a regular person meet walking down the street? None. That’s how many. This whole thing is ridiculous, and I just want to go home—even if the guy running this place is hot as...I’ll let you fill in the blank.
The Sweetheart Mountain Ranch is about to get its final wayward girl, and Rory isn’t going to make anything easy on Ryan. Lucky for Ryan, he learned a thing or two from his father over the years. And lucky for Rory, Ryan isn’t the kind of man to back down when challenged. Things are about to get heated in Sweetheart, Colorado. As always, this Megan Wade book comes with her ‘Sugar Promise’. High heat, low drama, guaranteed.

Unexpected Sweetheart de Megan Wade Serie Sweetheart Colorado libro 1
Argumento:
Ryan
A ninguno.
3.5 stars - He may be 39 to her 20 years, but that doesn't stop their instant attraction. Ryan is living the life he never wanted, while heiress Lorelei / Rory is thrust into ranch life to learn responsibility. It's a sweet, albeit a little slow on occasion, story that becomes exceptionally steamy when Ryan finally gives into their desires. I like how she stands up to her father and his expectations. I also like how Ryan and Lorelei treat each other before and after they get together. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Lorelei is a spoiled princess who knows exactly how to use her dads credit card. She doesn’t want to work in the family business she wants her life how she wants to live it but when her father decides it’s time she learnt what life is like without the luxury she is used to and maybe then she will see the family business as her future. So he has arranged for her to spend time on a ranch and learn the value of hard work. Rory is shocked to find how much she loves the life on the ranch and finds a kind of peace she never expected and when she meets Ryan the very reluctant owner and rancher, she knows that she was meant to take the journey to him. Her feelings for him knock her for six and she can’t walk away no matter how much he is trying to fight her feelings. When the contract is over will Rory leave Ryan and return to her life of unlimited money?
Ryan never thought or wanted to return to Sweetheart Colorado, but after the death of his father he is back at the ranch his father ran for troubled youth and loved so much, he finds himself trying to keep it afloat until he can sell it. Going about his routine he isn’t expecting a limo to turn up nor was he expecting the woman who gets out. Discovering that he has a contract to honour with a woman his connection too was never on his radar, but the more time he spends with her the harder it is to not give in to the chemistry between them. Ryan thought he wanted to sell the ranch, he thought he’d never consider staying but Rory is making him want things he never wanted before. Will Rory be the one to show him that he loves the ranch and this could be their future?
I always love Megan’s books and this one was no exception. Her insta everything’s are a perfect world to escape in to. Recommend this series and book for a bedtime read. 4*
This book had the potential for a great story, but it needed more editing and streamlining. There was a lot of internal dialogue and monologues that left me skimming. I also found there to be more telling than showing when it came to events and actions.
Lorelei ‘Rory’ Jensen is a 20 year old spoiled rich heiress. To ‘straighten her out and toughen her up’ her father sends her to a working ranch in Sweetheart Colorado. It’s similar to where you would send a troubled preteen so they don’t end up in jail. Problem is the original ranch owner has passed away and now she’s there with the deceased ranchers disgruntled son, a 39 year old financial analyst, Ryan Oakley. The age-gap and three-week long guardian/ward situation push the taboo limits but ultimately they are happy together and that should be all that matters. In the end, I’m glad we got a time jumped epilogue to close the story.
This was my first story by this author and sadly I won’t be reading more of her work. I simply was not a fan of her writing style and felt I had to push through to the end simple to provide an honest review of the book in it’s entirety.

Ryan is a financial analyst who is back in Sweetheart. Colorado after the death of his father. He left town years ago with the intent of never returning. He is now the owner of The Sweetheart Mountain ranch which was a working camp that promised to straighten out wayward youths.
With all the ranch now closed and in debt, he is just trying to keep it afloat until he can sell it. The last thing he needs is a guest.
Lorelei is a 20 year old spoiled rich girl who at the age of 21 will be inheriting a large portion of the family holdings. Her dad wants her to be ready to take on the responsibility. He has a booking confirmation and receipt from months ago when he made the reservation, so Ryan has to take her in for three weeks.
They are attracted to each other. He knows he’s to old for her and also has the huge responsibility of the failing ranch and his own job. Lorelei thinks coming on to Ryan is the right thing to do until he shoots her down.
This is marked as a BBW romance, even has it in the title on Amazon. I guess it could be if I just imagine Rory as a plus size chick because she definitely wasn’t described as such in the book. Sigh.
Aside from that whole issue, the book was cute-ish. Ryan and Rory are basically opposites: she’s rich, he’s broke, she’s 20, he’s 39, she’s supposedly spoiled, he’s a hard worker. But they still have chemistry and Rory isn’t really as stuck up as Ryan originally thought she was.
So Ryan finally gets the stick out of his ass after Rory tries to come on to him for the third time, but 2 weeks have passed and they’re now in love so he caves.
Epilogue was cute, set at 10 years later with a nice HEA.
This just was not my cup of tea. I’m not going to waste my time giving a detailed review. So here’s what I didn’t love about it 1. Shes a virgin, he’s an alpha male who makes her hot and bothered just yelling at her🙄 2. Insta love. Not joking they told each other “I love you” after 1 WEEK of knowing each other and him avoiding her for half that time 3 Engaged before it had even been 3 weeks, using unprotected sex and talking about getting pregnant. Because you know be a billionaire heiress and throwing it away on Instalove makes absolutely perfect sense.....
I read this one loving the fact that we were getting a hard working cowboy and a city brat but knowing I'd get more. This one sure kept its sugar promise to us because they are all eyes on only one another. Both are people that you can relate to in certain areas and at their core and everywhere in between I believe they're good people. The writing is great and I got immersed into the story and it didn't waste a minute getting the action going and the connection between them. There was always something between them and it grew in such a sweet way.
He was trying to get rid of the ranch his father left him and had his own problems struggling to give it to someone who could be worthy of it. His dad never expressed his own pride and love for his own son, but he sure did for the youth that were sent to the ranch to straighten out. There is one last prepaid request, a rich man toting along his brat daughter and ordering him to fulfill the request of making her into a corporate doll. He couldn't do this but had no choice, nor any money. His mind and body were exhausted by his father's leftover problems and didn't have time to deal with this nor the very blatant fact that he wanted her.
The attraction was great and the love story was so sweet. She wasn't so bad and wanted him so much. Turns out she loved being corrected-by him. And he was SUCH a sweetheart with her! I do so wish the brat part was more so they could spar more! Also the length of time to be drawn out as far as her trying to go for it with him. This is such a lovely town and I didn't realize that there are more books in this series!! This was literally a sweetheart of a book and such a romantic one. All you need is love indeed. So charming and humbling.
Fancy a quick wee sweet, adorably no drama romance about two opposites finding love in an unexpected situation? Well, give this a go. "Unexpected Sweetheart"... it really does say it all.
There aren't really any twists and turns in this book. At only 107 pages, you get exactly what you expect. Which if you're looking for a sweet (yet rather hot at times) story then this is for you.
Lorelai begins as a spoiled annoying brat who you kinda can't help but feel a bit sorry for. But the longer she spends in her unexpected situation you really see her grow and develop into an actually nice, sweet, caring person. With Ryan, you feel sorry for from the beginning with the situation he is having to deal with. But then Lorelai taps into an unknown side of him quite quickly into them being thrown together and changes Ryan's perspective on his life and how what was once not on the cards suddenly is.
Despite being seemingly opposites in the beginning and the age gap that Ryan tries to fight against, the dynamic between these two is quite sweet even if it does get intense rather quickly. But hey, what else is going to happen in a place called Sweetheart.
If you want a quick sweet romance read with no drama then I recommend you read this. If you love reading happy endings with two people being maddly in love with each other, then I highly recommend this book. It's kinda sweet watching both of these two characters change and bring out the best in each even over a short period of time.

Ryan never saw himself moving back to Sweetheart, Colorado. He especially never thought he'd see himself trying to keep the ranch he hated most in the world afloat. But here he is after his father died working to keep the ranch going while trying to find a suitable buyer. The ranch itself helped plenty of troubled youths, but all Ryan sees is a place and kids that were more important to his father than him. When a customer comes to drop off their "troubled" youth, Ryan finds himself honoring a contract that his father seemed to make before dying. But what comes out of the limo isn't a troubled youth...it's Ryan's walking wet dream dressed in pink!
At 21 Rory doesn't understand why her father can't just let her live her life the way she wants. All she cares about is gaining access to her trust and signing away her shares of the family company to someone who actually has an interest in the company. But Rory's father has other plans and hopes that by leaving her stranded without her luxuries and money on the ranch to do hard work that she'll be more grateful and ready to take her place. Things don't go exactly as planned for these two. Feelings get involved and decisions must be made. For Rory she finds herself happy to live with Ryan with nothing but the ranch. But for Ryan his hate and yet love for the place have him torn and his need to give Rory the life he's used to has him hesitating in claiming her for himself. Will Rory help Ryan to see that he actually has a love for ranching and she's happy with the love they share and the life they can make on the ranch?
Sweet love story. Awh Ryan & Lorelie's story started off him being back at the ranch sorting it out to sell after being left with hus dad's debts when he died. Just as he's outside a limo turned up with a hot ball of pink with legs climbs out whos rich daddy has brought his out of control daughter learn to grow up ready to take up her place at the family business. Ryan's dad ran the ranch as a retreat to calm & teach control to wayward teens & Lorelies6dad had booked her in before he passed away do he had no choice but to take her in for the 3 weeks, however, the sexual chemistry between them was driving him mad but he was determined to keep away from her even though she had made it clear she felt the same way. Over the weeks she worked hard at the ranch & they became friends aswell & she knew that she didn't want to go home but wanted to stay forever with him. Then one day they bonded over a calf being born & couldn't deny their feelings for each other anymore finally giving in declaring their love. It was a sweet, fun & loving story of two people from way different lives & with a huge age difference but we're perfect for each other.

Megan Wade's "Sugar Promise" is fulfilled in this contribution to the multi-author series, Sweetheart, Colorado with Unexpected Sweetheart. Ryan is back in Sweetheart, Colorado, months after his father died trying to get the ranch he couldn't wait to leave twenty years ago ready to sell to someone who will appreciate it the way he never could. Previously a place for wayward youth, a black limo arrives in the drive one day with a twenty-year old heiress, whose father wants her to learn the value of hard work before she takes a seat on the board of the family company on her twenty-first birthday. Ryan reluctantly lets Loralei aka "Rory" stay for the 3 weeks his father committed to months ago. Sparks fly from the very beginning, but Ryan and Loralei are both stubborn - but as wont to happen when you're not looking, true love will sneak up on you. These two have sizzling chemistry and if you love older man-younger woman romance as I do, this will leave you breathless while melting your Kindle.

Ryan feels lost running the ranch his father left him. His dad had helped a lot of wayward kids start to believe in themselves. The ranch is in debt and he does not see a way out other than to sell it. In walks Rory, her dad dropping her off for an attitude adjustment before she inherits at the age of 21. It is a fight, but they start to interact the right direction. The characters are strong and determined. Surprises and twists rear up to cause situations and problems, but things do get ironed out. A romance starts to flourish and strong feelings take hold. He is asked to chaperone the Valentines Day Dance for the high schoolers and he wants Rory to go with him. The only dresses she has are big city club dresses with a lot of skin showing, and Ryan shoots down that idea immediately. Loved the period of the dance and later the interaction with her father. The quickly formed deep seated feelings of love are felt in the ending and epilogue. Very well done.

Ryan has returned to Sweetheart after his father's death to handle his affairs and decide what to do with the ranch. A ranch that may have helped so many kids, but was the one place that cause so much pain and resentment for Ryan. Rory comes from a wealthy family, her idea of her future and her dad's idea is quite different. Feeling that Rory does not have an idea of hard work, her dad drops her off at the Ranch to learn. But what Rory learn will not only shock her dad but will have he disinherit.
Unexpected Sweetheart is a sweet romance with the characters in search of the future. Ryan and Rory have a tense relationship, as Ryan spends most of the time pushing Rory away. Rory is not so much as a spoiled brat as she does not want to be forced into a future she does not want. When she realizes she want to stay in Sweetheart, even Ryan did not think she knew what she want. Their story is on of sweet passion and desire that will warm your heart with each turn of the page.

Ryan is selling his father's ranch as his father had been in debt. His father had run a ranch to help wayward children and youth but all Ryan wanted was his father's attention. He finds himself blackmailed to work with Rory for three weeks. Rory is about to work for her father on the board of his company and she doesn't want to. Because she is refusing her father brings her to the ranch to be reeducated! The Ranch will work its magic on this couple...
I loved this story ❤️❤️ the story is well written and fast paced. Ranch life, lifestyle, backstories, dramas and angst make this an intriguing story! Rory and Ryan are likeable, relatable, complex and multilayered written so that a reader can empathize with them. There are steamy scenes that are sensually written. Told from dual POVs reveals intimately their thoughts feelings and emotions as they explore their relationship. There's an epilogue and a HEA 💓
Two different dads is the name of this issue. Ryan’s dad was a rancher he also turned his ranch into a place for trouble use. The promises that the man didn’t have enough money to make ends meet so when he passed away he gave the ranch to Ryan. Only he doesn’t know how to be a rancher. At least not in efficient one. Where is dad decide to send her to the ranch in order to help her gain responsibility and understand the necessities of life. Not really sure if that makes it especially since she’s basically had everything handed to her on a SilverPlatter and a silver spoon. Somehow the age difference does it mean anything which is pretty OK so she’s over 19. I just thought that maybe with the trials and tribulations this will come out a little bit different than how it’s eventually ended up with an HEA.

Ryan Oakley left the ranch because he did not feel that his father felt he was important as a son. Then his father passed and Ryan had to go back to the ranch to straighten everything out. He discovered, he was more important to his father than he thought, but it was to late. The ranch was in deep debt and Ryan was trying to save it when a rich man from New York showed up with one more kid for an Oakley to reform. Only it was not a teenager, it was a twenty year old woman. Ryan did not want to take her, but it was prepaid, so they settled on three weeks. Lorelei (Rory) Jensen was an heiress that needed to learn the meaning of hard work to be ready to take her seat on the board of directors by the time she was twenty-one or loose her inheritance. From the moment she stepped foot from the limo her and Ryan only had eyes for each other, and she fell in love with the ranch way of life. She found that the work was hard but rewarding. A story of working together, could get you through just about anything.

Ryan happens to have inherited his father ranch and all the problems of fixing it and running it. The ranch use to be a place or refuge for troubled youths. Now he just wants to sell it. While he's there a father brings his daughter to the ranch and wants to dump her there so that she'll grow up. Ryan tries to get rid of the girl but her father has already prepaid and leaves her there. Now Ryan stuck trying to teach Rory how to work a ranch and give her an attitude adjustment. Such a great story of a spoilt princess learning that she doesn't need her daddy's money to be happy. The chemistry between Ryan and Rory is unmistakable and she falls in love with him and the ranch. Highly recommend. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Ryan is living and enjoying his life as a finance guy in California, until his father dies and leaves him the family ranch in Sweetheart. He hated it and resented his father growing up. His father mentored/worked with troubled youth, which left him little time for his own son. He was not happy to be back, wanted to sell to a good person and go back to his life, but he finds the ranch in debt and disrepair. As he’s working through everything he gets a visitor, a man dropping off his 20 year old daughter, Rory. He doesn’t want to have her there but his dad had taken the fee for her. She’s a princess and doesn’t want to be there, but in order to get her trust fund and a job with her dad she has to stay. What the dad doesn’t know is that’s not what she wants, she want to design. The two are fiercely attracted to one another but Ryan fights it. He’s older and he doesn’t have time for her. They eventually give into to their attraction and he’s all in after that. I liked all the personal growth both experienced, they were both dealing with a difficult situation but they thought it through and did right by each other. When Rory’s dad comes to get her she refuses to leave, both had confessed their love and Ryan had proposed. Epilogue with kids and the ranch fully working as a place for troubled youth again, and Rory’s dad releases her trust.

First things first; I love the cover of this book! Unexpected sweetheart is a novella in the ‘’sweetheart, Colorado’’ collection. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the wring style easy to follow the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. When Ryan’s father dies he is left with a mountain of debt. Getting the family ranch ready for sale he is looking forward to getting back to the city. When he is tasked with reforming a spoiled brat, will he find love? The chemistry between Ryan and Rory is clear to see and I liked them together. I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read.
Ryan is in his early 40’s, single, financial advisor. Now he has back at his dads ranch to try and sell it. He has never wanted the ranch but his father left it to him. He is going broke trying to pay off his dad’s debt. The ranch was for troubled youth to work and learn about responsibility. When a black limo drives up to the ranch he figures it’s somebody who is interested in buying the ranch - but it turns out to be somebody who needs to learn about hard work and responsibility. Lorelei leads a pampered life - money, credit cards, unlimited expenses. His dad had already said yes and had taken her father’s money. Lorelei is single, 20s, pampered. Lorelei and Ryan will have drama, explosions, lust, sexy smoldering tension and passion. Their chemistry is off the wall. They were meant to be together if they can survive the journey. It is a page turner and I couldn’t put it down. Just a really fantastic read!

Ryan is not a rancher or a social worker. He is however the heir to a failing wayward teen ranch. Rory is spoiled rotten and doesn't want to follow in her fathers life choices. However she falls in line quick with Ryan if only for the attention. Ryan fights his feelings for Rory, being stern and mean at every turn to validate himself if only to have some control. But things get out of hand and romance bloom. But there is a big obstacle in their way. How will they cope after her three weeks are over. She goes home he sell the ranch?

This is a short age gap romance that features Ryan 39 and Lorelei 20. The story is sweet and sparks fly but its instalust. The monologues are a bit on the slow in the story, but if you like big age gap romance you'll enjoy this one...sincerely I don't like it very much...I think that a 10/12 year age gap either way he or she being the oldest is my limit, sorry but 20 year olds this days are practically teenagers they don't know what they making out of life all they want is to party, especially rich ones with no money worries. However that doesn't mean the story is not well written because it is.

A good addition to this series. I enjoyed the characters and the tension between them. The storyline was good and it kept you needing to read more to see what was going to happen next. This story had that opposites attract kind of vibe and I enjoyed seeing both characters figuring out their feelings and finally accepting them. This had romance, heated tension and all that other yummy stuff you expect in a romance. The ending was really good too and I was sad to see it end. I really wanted more from these characters but I was left with a satisfying feeling after I had finished reading.

This book is about Ryan and Rory. Ryan is a 39 year old man, who has come back to the farm from the city. His father has passed away and left him the ranch, deep in debt. Whilst he is trying to get sort out the ranch, Rory, a 20 year old girl is thrust into his care. Rory is being forced to learn what hard work is or she will not get access to her trust fund. This book has some hot and steamy scenes. It is an older man younger woman romance. It was an addictive read that I couldn’t put down. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.

I really enjoyed this instalove sweet novella. Opposites attract when Lorelei and Ryan meet. Lorelei is sent to live on The ranch Ryan inherited, one his father used to help troubled youths. Lorelei is troubled, but not at 20 she wants to be her own person. Her father wants to control her, and assumes this experience will make her bend to his will. Things do not go as planned for her father, but for Lorelei and Ryan things are all happily ever after. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend.
Overall, I enjoyed this short story. I really didn’t expect to enjoy it, because about halfway through, I was still struggling to find many redeeming qualities in main characters. The lead female character is Lorelei, a 20 year old heiress to a billion dollar fortune, who is young, impetuous, spoiled, immature, and unappreciated. Her father thought it would be a great life lesson to send her to a ranch for wayward youth, so that she could learn to work and get with his program of being a board member in the family legacy. The male character is Ryan, who is struggling to keep the ranch operational at all since the passing of his father. Ryan is a 39 year old financial analyst who only came to the ranch for purpose of paying his father’s debts and finding someone to sell the ranch to who will take it over. There were feelings of insta-lust with both characters, but they didn’t act on it at first.
Lorelei was, for most of the book, an unlikeable character. She is portrayed as an impetuous young lady who would rather run away than face any issues head on. For whatever reason, she works for Ryan and all of a sudden isn’t afraid of hard work. It was like a switch was flipped and she became wise beyond her spoiled years. Hardworking Lorelei was a much more likable character than poor little rich girl Lorelei.
Ryan, who couldn’t wait to leave the ranch when he was younger, is faced with selling the ranch and going back to his life in another state, or coming up with a way to make the ranch profitable again. Ryan was grumpy and seemed to be just going through the motions of running the ranch while getting it ready to sell to only the right buyer.
The story and characters redeemed themselves, for the most part, by the end of the book. They both wound up being unexpectedly more than they were at the beginning. There were steamy scenes in the story. The message I got from the story was that love conquers all.
* Dual POV * Virgin heroine * Age-gap * HEA with epilogue
