Love Bites #1

Daddy's Bite

Rate this book
Nikolai is the master vampire to his coven, in a world where humans and paranormal beings live together in peace...usually. When a pack of rogue coyote shifters threatens the city, Nikolai answers a call for aid from the local police department; humans are no match for the speed and strength of paranormals. On his mission, Nikolai stumbles across a young man named Israel who is in need of help and terrified of the world around him. In an instant, Nikolai realizes that this precious angel is his fated mate; the one he’s bound to love and cherish for all time. Israel is in need of someone to protect and nurture him; he needs a Daddy, and Nikolai, having waited nearly a millennium for a boy of his own, is his perfect match. Israel feels safe and at peace for the first time in his life as he explores his little side and places his trust in his vampire Daddy’s strength and care.

**This M/M romance features my take on vampires and other paranormal beings. They share many (but not all) attributes of vampires found in other fictional works. This world is different from those found in my other paranormal series, and the vampires’ properties differ as well. This low angst book contains insta-love between fated mates on a fast track romance, steamy scenes, a touch of danger, and age play between a powerful vampire Daddy and his sweet human little. Together, they explore elements including diapers and latching. Thank you for taking a look and happy reading!

I live in rural Ohio with my husband and two sons who drive me nuts, but I love them with all my heart. I enjoy reading and writing romance of all types, but gay romance is my forte and favorite! Twice the sexy men? Yes, please! My books tend to be low angst because it hurts my heart, but they do contain lots of heartfelt moments, steamy scenes and a healthy dose of humor. Thank you to everyone for checking out my page and I hope you enjoy my books. Happy reading!

There is insta-love, and then there is this. It was literally like:
“Hi.”
“Hi.”
“We’re in love now.”
“Ok.”

Also, I didn’t really like the way the author handled the kink aspect here. It didn’t feel organic to me at all, and it more so seemed like she had a list of things she wanted to incorporate, so she went through them all randomly to tick them off. There was no build-up or anything, and it felt super shallow and empty. It honestly left me completely cold.

Lastly, I know this was trying to be cute, but it only succeeded in making the characters seem incredibly simple-minded and perhaps even mentally challenged. Izzy seemed like he didn’t have a single mature or sensible thought going on inside that head of his and it was more than a little awkward. He acted like a five year old the entire time, and Niko treated him like one as well. It never became clear that this was a grown man with a kink, and instead it just seemed like a man with a mental disorder. It made his sexual relationship with Niko feel almost wrong because their dynamic seemed more like a literal father and his very young child rather than any type of romantic relationship. Oh and speaking of Niko, he literally didn’t have a personality whatsoever, so I have nothing further to say about him other than that he gave me the ick.

All in all, I didn’t like this. It didn’t feel properly developed and I was honestly bored. This was mostly just cringey and even felt kind of wrong. It didn’t read like age-play, and instead it seemed more like infantilization.

Reread #1

Another reread and it was cuuuuute! Oh, how I’ve missed Izzy :(:(

Original Review:

IZZY IS TOO CUTE FOR THIS WORLD 😭🥹

Another insta love fated mates age play woohoo! These two guys made me blush a lot. Nikolai was soooo protective and Israel was soo cuteee! It was fast paced, and worked well for my current mood. Jayda writes the best insta love. The connection they had first hand before actually get into the sexual stuff, luv it!

I did read book #2 first and both are great in terms of enjoyment although I have to admit book #2 had the best of depth storyline-wise.

What I love the most about this book is the sweet scenes and moments they share. Just like last one, it was soooo swoony I am happy 🥰

I love Israel as little so much! his head bobs, air punches, his comments on everything he loves and his butt wiggles are too cute !! 😭😭😭 AAAAHH I AM GUSHING OVER HERE HELP

“I’m sorry, Daddy,” he said with trembling lips. “I know you said no more tears, but my heart is so full it’s pushing them out.”
AAAHHH SO ADORBS 😭😭😭

I also loved the bedtime story scene, the bubble bath scene and IZZY! I LOVE IZZY 😭🥹💗

I could cry from the sweetness and the cuteness and the fucking preciousness of this book if I wasn't so bloody sleep deprived

4.5 STARS

“Do you see all of the stars up there?”
“There’s so many.”
“That’s right. I bet there are more stars in the sky than there are people on this whole planet.”
“Wow,” Izzy replied in a whisper.
“So if you ever get lonely at night, look up and see all of those stars watching over you. They break up the gloominess and help us find our way. Even if it’s cloudy and we can’t see them, they’re always there. You’re never alone.”

Sweet and simple. Very generic characters, but I didn't mind it in this instance. This is the fluffiest, most angst free vampire book in existence! A bit more kinky than the average age-play book which I enjoyed.

No redeeming qualities

I hate leaving this review because I generally like the author’s books and love age play and paranormal romances, but this was a disaster from the start.

From the first chapter 20-ish years old Little sounds like he is mentally very slow. He cries after being chased, pees his pants, cries about that, and talks like he’s around 4-5 years old. Mind you, there is no age play happening, the two MCs haven’t even seen each other, this is how the author wants you to believe a 20 year old man would act in front of another man. It’s creepy. I really dislike books that forget age play is about an adult pretending to be a child—not mentally being a child. This comes across as if the Little is mentally handicapped and not mentally able to make choices for himself. It reads more like pedophilia or abuse of a disabled person and it feels wrong.

This book is so sickeningly sweet it reads as unbelievable. We’re supposed to believe that a 700 year old vampire prince talks like a teenager? That the Daddy doesn’t just gush about his Little he talks for pages about how adorable and cute his boy is for basically breathing. I love sweet and adorable books, but this is like mainlining sugar syrup, it’s so over the top it hurts to read it.

There’s so much wrong with this book but I can’t tell you everything because I DNF at 68%. Those looking for a serious story about age play won’t find it here. Looking for light hearted, this isn’t it either. This plot line was so good, but I don’t know what the author was thinking writing this story like this. It destroyed the plot and I’m out.

If you choose to read it, expect painful cavities and a gross need for a shower.

I feel like Jayda Marx is writing more rushed these days. I can do insta-love just fine, but all of the characters in her new books feel like they're on speed.

So while I still liked the sweetness of this, and there were a few lovely hurt/comfort moments, I wish it was longer and not so rushed.

⭐️ 5/5 – Sweet as sin and softer than a baby boy’s pout.
🌶 3/5 – A cozy burn that hits just right, like Daddy’s warm hand on a needy bottom.

Jayda Marx owns my fucking soul. It’s been a while since I read her magic, and I forgot how damn good she is at feeding my little heart exactly what it craves. Daddy’s Bite gave me the warmest fuzzies—sweet, cuddly, comfort-filled vibes wrapped in a beautiful fated-mate bow. 🐰💝

This is MM DDlb age play with a paranormal twist that hit every single one of my kinks and soft spots. Izzy is a shy, obedient, precious baby boy—just the kind I’m a total sucker for. He’s sweet, gentle, eager to please, and starved for love, and my heart ached for all the pain he endured. Disowned, abused, and hurt for just wanting to express himself? Fuck that noise—my poor boy deserves the fucking world. 😭💔

Enter Nikolai, the Daddy of dreams. Sweet, protective, gentle but strong, attentive, and oh-so-patient. He scooped up Izzy’s broken pieces and held him so tenderly I wanted to fucking sob. Their bond is instant—fated, intense, and soul-deep. And once that blood bond locked them together? Damn, it made the whole thing even more romantic and swoon-worthy. 😍❤️‍🔥

The story is low on angst, high on comfort and fluff, with steamy scenes that warm you from the inside out. It’s sweet as hell but still has a thread of paranormal danger to keep it interesting. But the heart of the book? That soft, safe little world Niko built for Izzy. Age play is done beautifully here—nurturing, consensual, and healing. Just chef’s kiss perfection. 🤌🏻✨️

If you love sweet baby boys who just wanna be held, Daddy Dom vampires who dote, and soft age play with a splash of heat and hurt/comfort healing—this book will fucking ruin you in the best way. 💋❤️🩵💚💜💛🩷💙🧡

Quotes:

Great, that’s just what this city needs; a group of butt ass naked men running around causing trouble.
-
"But what if someone else sees and laughs at me?"
Then I'll rip out their fucking tongue. Again, probably not the best thing to say.
-
"It's not okay. No one gets to lay a hand on you, you understand? I'm not upset with you; I'm worried about you. That's a Daddy's job, to watch over his boy. So please let me take care of you. Come with me and let me make you happy."
-
"How does a vampire know that they've found their mate?"

"Their whole body reacts. Their stomach erupts with butterflies, their heart races, and their blood burns. Every cell comes alive with recognition that they've found the one to complete their soul. That's exactly how I felt when I met you."
-
"When fated mates bond, a very special connection forms between them. One can't survive without the other."
-
“Do you want Daddy to taste you some more? To suck this pretty little dick until you give me all of your cum?”
-
“I’ve got you. I’ve always got you.” I shifted my hips so that the tip of my dick pressed against his hole, and kissed his cheek. “Take nice deep breaths,” I whispered in his ear, and slowly thrust forward.
“Try to relax,” I reminded him. “Big, deep breaths; let me in, baby.”

It is not the book, I think age-play is just not my kink. I do not find child-like MC's interesting at all, in fact, although they are adult men, their child-like behaviour make me uncomfortable. I like Daddy kink, a LOT!!, but prefer my MC's to act like functioning adults. So, although I did not gel with this book, I would recommend it to readers who like age play, sweet baby boys, protective vampire daddies, etc.

Not really my thing.

Or, to put it another way, I liked the individual elements (paranormal stuff, age play, etc.) but the characters weren't my cup of tea and I didn't necessarily like the plot either.

Never mind that, the other books in this series seem to be a bit more offbeat.

I'm not going to rate this book because, full disclosure, I bought this by mistake. All I saw was vampire, daddy, and age play, three of my favorite things. I wasn't paying attention to the author. I've read enough of her books to know I'm just not a fan. The kind of books she writes just don't appeal to me, and that's fine. But I have to ask; why do people like these books?

I'm not even talking about the insta-love aspect here. When it comes to paranormal and fated mates, I can deal. It gets to the fun stuff faster. And the plot? Great, cool, live your best life. I find them a little simplistic but I have no issue with them either. It's the characters I can't handle. Izzy is insufferable, spineless, and his little since made me physically wince. Go on FetLife, interact with some real littles, and take notes. Please! Because as it is, I would have left him in that alley. And Nikolai, I guess he's supposed to be hot but his brand of Daddy was more cringy than sexy. Personal taste aside, there's a point where these books stop being sweet and become really uncomfortable.

And why do her meek characters (I don't know how else to categorize them) always have some super tragic homophobic backstory with an evil mother? This is a genuine running theme with her. Vilifying women and homophobia. Why? I ask again, WHY?!

If you like this author and her work, go for your life. I'll never understand, but glad you're having fun.

It was a nice low-angst short read. Very insta-love, but the danger didn’t feel terribly dangerous and the sexy times weren’t terribly sexy. I enjoyed the beginning but then had to force myself to finish it - I just didn’t care enough about the characters.

This did not feel like age play. In age play, you expect regression — someone slipping into their “little” side — but here? Izzy was just little from A to Z. No switch, no contrast, no depth. Honestly, he could’ve been written as a ten-year-old and the story would’ve played out the exact same way.-ofc minus the steamy times- That makes it feel less like age play and more like adult-baby.

The whole plot got spilled in their very first encounter — that’s not insta-love, that’s insta tell-him-everything-about-me. The side characters forgettable, and Niko didn’t bring much to the table either. Everything outside of Izzy’s nonstop littleness just fell flat. But here’s two stars because he was cute.

cute little story with some gory bits. Age play, Nicolai is a Master Vampire. Israel is a twink human. They met after Israel is being chased by some rogue coyote shifters that Nicolai is after. Immediately we know Israel is a 'little'. I would have liked it a bit better if he had been more adult when not playing but that's just my preference. He was very timid and was easily pushed around by others. I don't want to go to into it so as not to spoil anything. TW: for parental abuse.

It's sweet, toothachingly sweet and just as the title, I wish it had more bite to it.

Izzy is such a darling it made me wonder how he had managed to keep himself alive for the last few years alone. Niko swoops in and whisks him away from a lonely life, they are in love and settled after a day.
There's several things I liked with this book, Izzy as little, his nursing, Niko's protectiveness of his mate.
It just needed something more, a bit more depth, bit less cookie cutter little/Daddy recipe, perhaps having it stretch over more than a few days.

Instalove Vampire Daddy / Little romance. Personally I'm not overly fond of those being portrayed as a little being infantalised 24/7, it tends to make me feel the little is exactly that, a child or someone with a LD. Still overall not dire but a bit formulaic.

I ranted to my guys about this for hours! And not in a good way. I'm not sure if this was erotic, or food fetish, but the least believable part of this book wasn't the vampires, it was how much the human MC could eat that was stuffed with sugar without killing himself. I got anxious reading it.

I hate not finishing stories, so I did read to the end, but, I won't be back.

I love vampire romance. I enjoy dynamic romances. I adore m/m. I...can even find myself loving fated mates but...this just did not feel good to read. It felt like a lot of fetishes/tropes thrown together and written fast.

The MC in this book looks like is slow in the head and not that he likes play little because this the relationship between MCs sounded very weird not a roleplay but an adult abusing a childlike young man and obviously that wasnt the writer's purpose. This book was very uncomfortable to read and i almost dnf.

I went into this REALLY wanting to like it....

... it's been a while since I DNFd, and I reallly tried with this one too.

But alas...

It was waaaayyyyy too sweet.

And I get that he's supposed to be a little, and ordinarily, when done right, I really enjoy me some abdl... but not this one.

The writing just felt toooo... something.

And the overall story was just too cringe-worthy.

I have to say that this book was not for me.

I prefer my littles to be able to adult outside of the play time and Izzy was not one. Maybe it would have been better if he had his own POV, but alas, that was not to be.

Genre/Tropes: MM, PNR, Daddy Kink, Novella
POV: 1st, Nikolai
Series: Love Bites, #1
STEAM LEVEL: 🔥🔥🔥
——————

Well this was one of the sweetest little PNRs I’ve ever read. Nikolai is a master vampire and during a hunt for rogue shifters, he stumbles across his fragile human mate, Israel who has a traumatic past. The bond is instantaneous, possessive, and so endearing, I felt squishy the whole time. It was almost TOO sweet, but sometimes we need that. And the dirty talk was pretty fantastic as well.

It had major Daddy kink. The only thing that was kind of off for me was how deeply they went into the “little boy” kink. Diapers are a bit much (to each their own though) and while I did enjoy the dynamic, I often felt that Izzy was just too childish. Again, it wasn’t bad, I guess that’s just not something I’m into that much and THAT’S OKAY, y’all.

Other than that, I adored this little romance. Nothing like a possessive vampire and a sweet human boy. I liked how accepting everyone was and the little bit of angst was outside the couple and thrilling.

Mushy cuteness!

This story was full of all the mushy cuteness you could want. It wasn't particularly deep or detailed, but it wasn't advertised as anything super serious with big conflicts or angst. It didn't try to be anything other than a short, fun, and super sweet read. Both Israel and Nickolai were adorable. I can't wait for Jett's story!
