Dig Deep into the Astrological Sign of Libra
As a reader and reviewer, I am not wild about claims of a book being the “ultimate,” as no single book can be the “ultimate” on any subject. While this book is not the “ultimate,” it includes a lot of basic, intriguing information about the astrological sign of Libra and the people born under it. The book starts with the most general information, including descriptions of its myths, constellation, and glyph. (By the way, graphics showing the shape of the constellation as well as the glyph would have been MUCH appreciated.) Then it gets down to what Libra means as a sun sign in the broadest sense, including strengths and weaknesses. It includes a list of Libran celebrities… Sept 25th seems to be a popular birthday! Some of this general first part is a bit repetitive, as it included basic positive and negative traits in several sections.
It got more interesting as the chapters became more specific, including ones about Libra men and women, Libra children, Libra at work and while socializing, what they need to feel content, and being friends with a Libra. The chapters about Libra men and women are more detailed than other books in this series, detailing how they are as lovers and compatibility with a few other (but not all) signs. Unlike other books in the series, this book didn’t provide as many sign-by-sign comparison and compatibility discussions for each area (e.g., work, friends, etc.) as the other books in the series. I really wish the author had done so, as I find these mini discussions of inter-sign dynamics fascinating.
The PDF ARC copy I received did not have a proper table of contents. I wish it had, as I do like to know what is coming up when reading a nonfiction book. Also, I like to be able to easily refer back to a chapter when I, say, discover that I have a new Libra co-worker.
This is not a “sun signs for beginners” book, by the way. You might get a little lost if you don't already have a good grounding in astrology that’s at least a little beyond sun signs, as the author does discuss things like qualities, decans, houses, and other more intermediate-level astrological information. If you are a Libra who is interested in astrology, you might enjoy this deeper look into your sun sign. If you have many planets in your natal chart in Libra, you might appreciate this book, too, as it could give you greater insight into those aspects of your chart. Finally, if you have a Libra in your life, you might find this book shows you a little about what makes them tick.
