A wanderer roams through a barbarian world of savage men and beasts on a quest to find home.

In the distant past, Mesozoic creatures ruled the Great Ocean. Nelarr, a resident of the underwater kingdom of LeMaria, discovers that he can no longer breathe underwater, but needs oxygen from air to survive. Branded a freak of nature, he is banished from the kingdom and labeled an Outkast. It is when breaking the surface that he sees how far the horizon extends. Might there be some unknown place where he may not only survive, but build a new life--a place he can call . . . home. On his journey, he meets another nomad, a giant sea turtle named Mariner. Together, they must battle monsters and other Lemarians who want him dead.

From acclaimed artist and animator, Bruce Zick ( The Atomic Legion , The Zone Continuum ) comes an epic saga of myth and fantasy.

Nelarr is a mutant in prehistoric LeMaria. His gills no longer work and is considered an outcast. He finds an old prospector's giant sea turtle and journal describing a place where he found land. Now Nelarr is in search of this mythical land while being chased by bounty hunters.

The book has that old school dystopian feeling to it. Like something Jack Kirby would have created or an underwater Thundarr the Barbarian.

A non-stop action quest by a lonely "aquaman" in search of his destiny.
The art is quite good, with vintage vibes (in line with some 2000AD classics), with full hand-drawn penciled magnificent underwater landscapes and fantastical mighty (hungry) beasts.
Many battles and combats pepper this short one-shot, that leaves you craving for a sequel in the end.
If it was a complete tale, it would have won my five stars.
All in all, if you enjoy epic solitary journeys across the deep sea, this one's for you.

Neredeyse izlediğimiz çoğu animasyonda çalışmış Bruce Zick'in geçtiğimiz senelerde çıkan işi.

Fun read. I love ocean monsters, and when you throw in a pet turtle I’m going to be into it. Not sure it’s completely finished though, so hoping there will be more cause it was not really a satisfying ending.
