Scrapbooking is magic, and so am I. Or at least I would be, if I could take a freaking nap already.
What kind of dream witch can’t even make herself fall asleep? A tired witch. A middle-aged, raising-her-teenage-son-alone witch.
I’m supposed to keep the magic world a secret. I’m supposed to dream the future. But supposed-to’s are for suckers. At forty-one, I’m done with doubt. And I’m not about to let anyone else tell me what I can or can’t do.
My life is a scrapbook, a collection of adventures, each one leading to the next until every page is full. I’m learning, adapting, growing. Armed with my sleepy sloth tea and my golden spork, and with my coven by my side, I’ll take on every challenge that comes my way.
Nightmares better watch their backs, because I’ll be sporking them.
USA Today Bestselling Author Keira Blackwood writes exciting paranormal romance and romantic urban fantasy with all the snort laughs and all the feels.
Scrapbooking the Supernatural By Keira Blackwood This is book #2 in the series and not near as good as book #1. I gave it a 2 1/2 rounded up to 3. Some of it was cute, and some of it I wanted to quit reading. It also ended in a cliffhanger, which I hate.
Remi and Jennifer are trying to come to grips with their powers, with help from Molly - who seems to be often missing in action. Jenn is keeping a scrap book of their adventures, but it is exhibiting magical properties - and as a dream witch, she is supposed to dream about the future - but her dreams are more nightmares - and one includes Evan, her son. Should she keep her world a secret, or does Evan need to know? What is Molly hiding? Is Jen bringing her dream characters to life, or has Evan been affected by the Kitty demon, and is bringing his nightmares to life? Will they be able to get through this time, and come out the other side of her nightmares? What happens to Brianna? Loving these stories and cant wait for the next one!!

I borrowed the first boxset of this series from Kindle Unlimited and I am reviewing each book as I finish reading it.
If you haven't read the first book in this series. I suggest you go back and read it. The events of that book shape some things in this next one. In that book we met Remi the fire witch, her mate Julian, a dragon shifter, the life witch Molly and Jen, Remi's best friend, who is a dream witch.
This is Jen's book and let me tell you, reading about a dream witch is challenging. You don't know if what you are reading is actually happening, a dream, a vision, or something else entirely. That said this book opens with Jen having difficulty sleeping. Isn't that always the way when you're overtired?
Only in chapter two we find it was a dream...and one that brings in that winged kitten creature that hatched at Remi's in the last book. So, as we go through the scenario, Jen decides not to repeat her actions as foretold and calls Remi. Remi stays the night, and they decide it's time to corner Molly and find out just what exactly that cat creature is.
The next day is Saturday and being in Real Estate it's not a day off for Jen. She gets to the office before her partner Jerry and manages to crush her coffee all down the front of her as she unlocks the door. We learn Jen keeps clothes pretty much everywhere she frequents since spilling tends to be a habit of hers.
When Jerry arrives, he's concerned how tired she looks and remarks on it. Even suggesting it's stress from the lack of clients. Jen isn't hurting for money thanks to the hoard they found in the last book, but the same wasn't true for Jerry. Jen does the only thing she can do. She gives Jerry the two listings she has giving the excuse she needs some time off and also reassures him she'll be back when things pick up again.
Jen is faced with a bit of a dilemma when her son Evan finds her home and asleep in the middle of a workday. He doesn't see the magic but she can't lie to him, so she shows him her stash from the hoard. He puts it down to LARPing and she lets it go at that.
Her next dream brings to life the vampire detective from the movie she watched with Evan. It also brings a new entity into her dreams.
When Molly misses their scheduled Sunday brunch, Jen goes looking for her. Instead, she only finds Fernando her blue cyclops ball companion. When she asks him about the winged cat, he runs off leaving her with no answers once again.
When she arrives home, her son's car is there. She's happy because she expected to be alone. While on the surface everything looks fine, there is something else going on.
For the first time, Jen deliberately calls upon her dream magic. She enters her son's dreamscape and follows a girl who says everyone there is Evan, until she finds him. But he fades before she gets to him. Instead, she finds herself in trouble and a familiar voice then helps her, then appearing as a pink wolf.
With Remi's help Jen tells her son about her being a witch, Remi and Molly also being witches and the coven they formed. The significance of the 'cat fairy' is still unknown and Molly is still missing. When she shows up, she has a few answers to the 'cat fairy' but all are speculation.
There's also Brianna who shows up in this book briefly. She's still in denial that she's a witch and part of their Coven.
There are many twists in this book, and I couldn't stop turning the pages until I had the answers. I really love the romance aspect in this book. It was truly a surprise and Molly's reaction was very interesting.
I am enjoying this series, it's a bit different from the others I've read.
The Midlife Magic in Marshmallow series continues with Scrapbooking the Supernatural. And get ready for some adventure and definitely some snort-giggling as Jen tries to get a handle on her dream witchery with not the greatest luck… so far. That’s about to change when one evil “kitty” shows up and goes after her son, Evan. Never go after someone’s kid, that is guaranteed to bring out the angry Mamma Bear in everyone – especially a witch.
I had such fun with Jen’s story. Her idea of what a dream witch was supposed to do might have been just a tad bit off, but she’s learning, adjusting, and when the time comes she’ll have everything she needs to protect not only her son but herself as well.
Frankly, I don’t want to say a lot about the plot because I really believe that if I say too much then you’re not going to get the shock value or the fun of unraveling threads for yourself. I can say that I had an absolute blast back in this world with bits of danger, friendships, a mother/son relationship to envy, and more than a little magic sparking about. Oh… and Baku. If only I could find my own Baku — you’ll see and understand perfectly.
I am loving the different voices who are lending their talents to the relatively new sub-genre of Paranormal Women’s Fiction. And I cannot wait for the next visit to this world, it’s sure to involve some ruffled feathers!
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
SCRAPBOOKING THE SUPERNATURAL is the second book in the Midlife Magic in Marshmallow series. This series MUST be read in order. It's paranormal women's fiction, with a romantic subplot. It's also wildly ridiculous.
These powers don’t come with “how to” books and boy do these girls need them. It doesn’t help that Molly is less than forthcoming even when she is helping. It’s like learning magic via Master Miyagi. “Wax on; Wax off” may teach you how to block a punch, but it won’t teach you how to fight a demon kitty!
When the demon kitty starts attacking Jen’s son, Evan, the sporking is going to get serious. Nobody goes after any mama’s child. That is sure to bring out the Mama Bear and she will be a b-witch.
I loved this story and I am looking forward to more from this wonderful group of ladies.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via Booksprout, my opinions are my own and are given freely.
Title: SCRAPBOOKING THE SUPERNATURAL Series: Midlife Magic in Marshmallow #2 Category /Genre: Paranormal Romance Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content. Grammar/editing: received as an unedited ARC / errors excused. Received from: Keira Blackwood
Book 2 starts two weeks after the end of Book 1. It is told from Jen's Point of View with a very humorous tone. She is trying to figure out her dream power but has difficulty mastering the technique. When her son, Evan, gets ensorcelled by the kukudhli cat fairy (from Book 1), she tries to tell him the wild and crazy truth, only to be met with disbelief. With Molly and Remi, they test the limits and capabilities of her dream control. While dreaming, Jen meets her childhood "imaginary" friend, who seems to be a rainbow bear and a pink wolf and a really hot guy but she doesn't remember him. Her dream powers get totally out of control, creating real-life nightmares. Fortunately, her coven, Remi and Molly, Remi's dragon, and Jen's dream lover unite to help her to fix her mistakes and find a HEA.

This is the 2nd in the series Midlife Magic in Marshmallow and as much fun as the 1st one. Jen is focusing on learning how to be a Dream Witch which includes figuring out how and what a dream witch is. The evil kitten is back and takes a shine to Evan. Jen needs to learn her skills fast as the kitten has Evan in its sight. Along the way, Remi, Justin & Molly support Jen in her quest and Jen meets an old friend - a dream friend.
The story is well paced and it was hard to put down. Jen grows into her witch, learns from Molly reluctantly and we get insight into Molly and her background. Look forward to learning more about Molly and how she met her friends.

Oh, this should be fun! WE get Jen's story this time around! What problem do we find Jen encountering? Dang, Jen is having too much fun with the scrapbooking thing. Where and when do we see the kitten pop up next? Oh goodness, what has Jenn popping up to her sons room and what happens? What do we ulltimately learn, if anything, about the kitten? Thiss tory seems to be so twisted. Oh my, when Remi and Jen go back to sleep, YOWZA!!!! Who is Baku, what is he? What is happening around town? Oh goodness, this second book to this new series got really hairy! Read and see what happens if it can be fixed and if we get an HEA.

In the second book of the Midlife Magic in Marshmallow series, the story focuses on Jen, who lives with her teenage son. She is a dream witch, but like the others newly come to her powers and has trouble figuring out what needs to be done to be a successful dream witch. Things get a little more pressing when a strange cat with wings pops up and not only focusing on her, but also on her son Evan. But together with her coven and one unexpected friend she finds out more about her craft and the strange cat. An interesting story, starting a little slow, but picking up towards the middle of the story. Definitely entertaining and fun. The book is part of a series, but could be read on its own. I read Sweatpants and spells so had to find out what happened next. The coven of 3 are all in it again but this time it's Jen's turn to learn how to use her .powers and who knew dreams could be so scary! This book steams along at a cracking pace and with good and bad dreams alike turning into reality but with Remi and Julian out of action that just leaves Jen and Molly to save the day, the town of Marshmallow and Evan with a little help from the hot mysterious stranger and a little help from their friends. It's the kind of book where you can identify with the characters, want to be their friends and live their happy, scary and downright weird lives.
Some dream witch she is. Her job is to dream about the future and stuff. How's she supposed to dream if she doesn't sleep? She's tried to do everything she does well. Recently with her new "skills", she's working to develop life is hard. There are some perks to her dream life. Working with her small coven of three she is making lots of changes.
Another story with unique creatures some bad some good. Watching her adapt to her new life and the changes made for an interesting read with this second story in the series.
I really enjoyed the first book in this series and was really looking forward to this one. I didn't realize it would be told in a different POV from the first. While that is definitely an okay thing, I sadly didn't enjoy this book as much as the first. I don't know if I didn't connect as well with the main character or what but this sort of fell flat for me and was a bit disappointing at times. It isn't a bad book per se at all and still held on to it's more original storyline, just for me, not as engaging as I was hoping it would be.
Jen is Remi's best friend and she is a dream witch, apparently a very powerful one as they will find out when creatures from her nightmares start to show up in Marshmallow. When the person most precious to her is put in danger by a demon, Jen will go to any lengths to save him armed with her trusty spork. Engaging and sometimes hilarious characters doing the best they can with the powers that are new to them with sometimes unexpected results. Magic, action, suspense, and surprising twists. I love these books.
As much as I loved and enjoyed the first book, this one just wasnt for me. The more I read the more bizarre it became. Especially during the second half of the book. I'm all for quirky oddballs. But this was next level crazy town. Wasn't sold on the "romance" either. Felt more creepy than romantic to me.
Also, quite fed up with Molly's continued disappearing and silence acts. You know, giving out to them for being reckless, but refusing to answer any questions, provide actual info, help, etc
Jen is a new dream witch trying to figure out her powers and protect her son.
What I enjoyed most: * Jen and Evan have a great mother-son relationship * I want to know more about Fernando * Bringing movie/tv characters into the real world was interesting
What could have been better: * Jen takes time to have sex with Baku while her friends are in peril * We don't even really meet Baku until about 70% into the book * I feel sorry for Molly. She is the one with experience and the others ignore her and just charge on in.
Jennifer’s dreams might just be dangerous to her loved ones. Jennifer is trying to learn her witchcraft and learn to control her dreams The results are hilarious, crazy, and eventually dangerous. She has to save her friends and her son. And she has surprising help from someone she has known all her life. In her dreams. The story of Jen, who is learning about being a dream witch, and how she grows into her new life. The characters are unique and quirky. The situations are so great and funny, along with a little stress about that cat. Surprises and twists keep you glued to the pages and you can not put it down. Love this series and can not wait for more.

I was disappointed with this one. I loved the first book. I get that dreams are wild and out there, but I think this was way too crazy. A lot of it didn't make sense. I got that the monsters resembled cartoons & toys that you alluded to. The ending was interesting. I am glad that Jen finally gets a man, but she has her work cut out for her!
Ok, what I mean by that is, for most of this book I felt like I was hallucinating. Not that I have ever done drugs, but I have seen 1960's hippy movies where people are hallucinating. Weird colors, cartoons coming to life, whatever man. For a bit, I could not tell what was real and what was a dream. Somehow, it all came together, made sense, and the book had a wonderful ending. Now I want to keep my feet firmly on the ground please.
This second in the series focuses on Jen, Remy's best friend and coven member. Jen is a dream witch learning about her power and how to control it. When her nightmares become reality she tries dreaming about good things, but scary skeletons and cute fury animals at battle doesn't solve the problem. The antidote to the blob was creative and the narrator did a good job; this was a good second book in the series.
This was such a fun read and a great addition to the series. Filled with unique creatures some good some bad and with the add it intrigue, mystery, and suspense made for a helluva read. Overall a good read. As always my reviews are totally voluntarily and no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are my own.
Such a fun adventure to read. Jen is part of a coven as a dream witch. She just learned of her ability so anything can happen. What she brings her dreams to life, it becomes a nightmare. I really enjoyed this quirky romance.

Jen is trying to figure out her powers as a dream witch. Fortunately she has her coven mates, Remi and Molly to help. Dreams can be elusive. How is Jen supposed to control them? How will she get rid of the living nightmares that have attacked the town? I like the action, humor, and romance. I look forward to the next book.
This is Jen's coming out story and it's a doozy. She gets a crash course in dream therapy & has to save the town from her nightmares. Things get very personal for Jen but Mom's got superpowers & she's not afraid to use them. We also learn a little more about Molly as the coven gels.
It took me along time to get into this book, not sure why the story was good Jennifer is a dream witch & loves scrapbooking, she is trying to learn her powers when her nightmares start to come real!
Can't wait to read more in this series loved the characters and the storyline so it's a well deserved five stars and I would recommend this book to everyone
Lighthearted and serious good fun that comes alive with the authors relatable characters. I'd recommend the series so far. Nice to snuggle up with a cup of tea.
