Poor Monday. Everyone knows he's the worst. Every other day of the week has something wonderful about them, even if Tuesday's best quality is that she's NOT Monday. So Monday tries his best to get people to like him, but Monday is just not cut out for Sunday's naps or Thursday's frantic energy. Finally, he decides to just not show up at all. But when the other days start looking more and more like Monday himself, Monday realizes that everyone has a job to do in a week.

I love that all of the days of the week have their own character in this book and that Monday is a rain cloud head. The imagery and illustrations are also fantastic! This book shows the importance of “Mondays” in the week lineup and in life general to help us to stay grounded and to appreciate the good days against the backdrop of seemingly bad days.
This picture book came recommended to me. I read it myself and thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't think the boys would enjoy quite as much as I did, at least not yet. The older boy greets Mondays like other people greet Fridays. But I digress. This book is all about Monday, who is slightly cranky. On top of that, he feels badly that he isn't as beloved as the other days. Especially Friday. So he quits. No spoilers... but things don't go well. You'll just have to read the book to find out what happens next! The whole book has amazing illustrations with lots of details to notice. I recommend!
The days of the week are personified in this picture book and focuses on Monday, who his illustrated as a rain cloud person. Throughout the book, Monday struggles to see how her distinct personality and how important she is to the days of the week. Monday starts to try to be like the others, but the week ends up falling apart and she learns that she may not be like everyone else, but she's just as important and special!
This book is so clever and humorous and contains so much heart. I loved the illustrations. This book will remind all readers that each day is important and has it's purpose.
Hu-Hu.. come back, Monday!
A cute story were each character is named for a day of the week. At first, no one appreciates Monday, but when Monday decides to take a break, everyone realizes how important he is.
