Superb!!!!

I love this series so far, very romantic with some action and tension scenes, well balanced!
This is a short story between book two and three but in view this story as a whole, for me this is the book 3, so adorable the main characters, really cute, the intimate moments are very splendid, sometimes are very subtle, other times can be with a lot of hunger, always filled with passion, connection and love!!! High praises for this beautiful work to A.J. Sherwood and Jocelynn Drake!!!

This book is overflowing with love, just the way I like it

I also have this book on Audible, stunning performance from Joel Leslie, gorgeous voice, great acting and very committed as always!!! Congratulations!!!

Perfect art cover, kudos to Katie Griffin!!!

What this book had going for it was that it was a quarter the size of the rest of the books in the series. That was a breath of fresh air. What was not was that this book contained nothing new. Nothing. It was exactly the same as the two books that came before it (only, and I don't think I can say this enough, blessedly much shorter).

North and Waren were fine. But they weren't anything we haven't seen before. Their romance plays out exactly like Cam's and Alric's and Tori and thingamies (I can't for the life of me remember his name!) and I want something new from these books. I don't want the same recycled romance. I don't want to see another case of ignorant/naive/misguided mage rescued by a dragon followed by immediate insta love and then the generic "Oh no but what if he doesn't want me/I must let others have the chance to love him" because no. Once was enough. Twice was pushing it. Three times was just asking for a shitty rating and a complaint-filled review. I'm not even sorry.

Here's the thing, I'll read the same trope over and over again in fanfic just as long as there's something to keep me enthralled. There hasn't been anything in these after the first book set up the world. Which brings me to another point: why must we always have the world explained? Origins needed it, everything that's followed has not.

We've got enough couples now, can we have a book that's exclusive about dealing with the bad mages (can't remember the spelling, don't care enough to look it up)?

That was a lovely short catch up with the dragons and mages of the Scales 'n' Spells world, this time it's Warin who finds his mage mate in the very cute North.

A cute little read this time featuring Warin and North.

This is very similar to the previous ones and while it doesn’t move the story on at all it’s a cute little read.

Is it bad that I love the novella better than the full length?

Without all the fill-in situations in the book, I connected more with the characters and their mating.

I like both characters and the development. I don't mind the instalove here because they are mates and it made it all endearing.

Their sex scenes were steamy and fun.
The cameos were cute too.

Joel Leslie narrating was phenomenal as usual.

All three of these books are the same premise recycled so I’m going to stop here.

super cute and short novella that honestly should be read during christmas time since that is the vibes that you could feel while reading this.

I was so happy Warin got his mate! it was about time and North was sassy and a good compliment.

Now on to RAVI!! i have been waiting for this characters book since we met him in book 1!

Short and sweet. As expected shitty parents. Would’ve been nice to see the grandfather and the grandmother meet. I liked North and how quickly he felt comfortable with Warin. I liked how first Warin was the tag along and this one it was Gunter. The dragon scale was a bit of a worry. It was a little strange having Ravi as the sensible voice of reason. Looking forward to the next one.

Cute story. I'd have loved to see North's family blow their collective tops at his decision not to come home.

Meh 1.5*? I got to 41% and didn't see any point reading on, it all feels too predictable. I get it's a taster for a series but I've read far more developed feeling fanfics. Didn't wow me.

Included on the same audiobook as book 2, Breath so my review is basically the same:

This is an absolutely delightful audiobook. Aside from the highly entertaining narration/vocal performance by Joel Leslie, which at times made me completely forget that I wasn't listening to a host of different people, err...I mean dragons and mages, the fact we get two books in one audio is terrific. Better than the best of sales, IMO.

I'm enjoying the fire dragons' clan finding new mages, and, of course, pairing off in MM romantic relationships.

The blurb tells the plot but the stories are so much more. One of the best dragon shifter sagas I've read/listened to in the past year with a fantastic cast of characters.

I've already bought the rest of the series. Onward to more listening pleasure.

Warin founded his mate in this short story that is basically fluff wrapped in a pretty bow. North is an America mage, visiting Europe to find dragons, but he found

This was a fun short story, it was not adding much to the over-arching plotline of the series, but was nice to read and was a good addition.

Another brilliant instalment in the series with even more dynamic characters to love and adore. A plethora of sassy dialogue and a pile of gripping drama to keep you gasping as you turn the page. I highly recommend you read these in order and the audio adds a whole additional level of fun and enjoyment.

I like North so very much! He's pretty perfect, and it's lovely that Warin can be the support and validation he needs to truly be himself. As a mother, I want to smack North's mom upside her ridiculous planning-a-blind-date-with-a-girl-for-her-gorgeous-gay-son head, but that's neither here nor there...

Sweet

There’s far less action in this than the previous books but I loved seeing Warin and North find love in each other. I liked seeing the other dragons again and look forward to more in this world!!

not bad, but so super similar to the 1st book and cameron's story that i couldn't enjoy it as much as i wanted to.

I mean we're only 3 stories in to this new series and already we're recycling themes and tropes and storylines? or maybe because they didn't bother to include cameron's blow up with his parents they got a do-over here?

not sure, but either way, it's an ok addition to the series which i hope gets better!

So good! A beautiful story! Still full fledged even if it's shorter than the full novels. I seriously appreciate in a novella.

When you wish upon a star.....North a young mage raised in a narrow minded family, had dreamt of finding dragons inspired by his grandfather who taught him magic. When he was young he wished that a nutcracker soldier would become a Prince and carry him away from his pitiful existence.... well dreams really do come true. Using a family heirloom, a beautiful red dragon scale as his guide, North ventures across Europe to find his red dragon prince, Warin, who is also in search of his North star. Mage and dragon paths collide and love blossoms in the heart of winter at Christmas. A sweet tale of love.

This came as a freebie in the famous Winter Wonderland Giveaway.

I had just read the first two books of this series and I have to admit - I was soooooo happy that I could get my greedy hands on this one immediately.
Amazin series so far - I am in love. I've love this freebie especially because North is just such a great and refreshing character. Also this time it didn't take this couple not as long as the others to just get it - they are mates.

So - totally in love with this series and already waiting impatiently for the next book.

Similar plot but still enjoyable. American North finally convinced his family to let him go to Europe (although he's 21 - you don't need permission, dude). He has a dragon scale that has been passed down in the family and his grandfather and him are the only ones who believe in magic. He figures out a tracking spell and sets out to find out if dragons are real or not. In Brussels he find out the dragon is in Southern Germany but before he can head off, he's attacked by the bad mages. Meanwhile Warin knows someone has a seeking spell on him and him and Gunther head off towards Brussels to track down whoever is after him. They rescue North and take him back to the castle.

North's family, except his grandfather were awful. Refusing to admit he's gay, his mother browbeating him to come home after he'd only been gone less than a week and not accepting that he's a colorful guy. I did like that Warin made a play for him right away, but of course Ravi had to kick him in the ass again. Ravi's book is next and if he's equally "I don't want to overwhelm him" I'll be pissed.

It was cute to have his grandfather come to visit after a year and after North tells his mother to get stuffed you don't hear anymore. I'm always curious how those things play out. But this is shorter than the other books so moves more quickly.

North is fun.

I love the adventurous spirit that North has. He knows there's more out there, and he wants to get what's there.
