‘A long, long time ago, you did a bad, bad thing, Now it’s time to pay...’

Olivia Blake received the above note and initially thought it was a prank. Olivia works as an estate agent and is invited to a view a property but after arriving she walked in on a horrific and gruesome sight. She is shocked and reminded that sometimes the past comes back with a vengeance. It is now crystal clear that the note was not a joke, but a sinister warning. She soon learns that she is not the only one receiving these notes. Who can be trusted?

This was a riveting and fast paced read which kept me on my toes. The book is full of tension and dread. It is not long before fingers will be pointed, secrets will be learned, danger will mount, and the body count will rise! I had my suspect list lined up, trying my best to solve who is out for revenge for a teenage prank that went horribly wrong.

I enjoyed this whodunit and the characters. I loved not knowing who could be trusted in this book. I enjoy Keri Beevis's books. I always know that I will be in for a fast-paced, well written and enjoyable read. I look forward to what she writes next.

Well written, fast paced, sinister and riveting!

A long long time ago, several someone’s did a bad thing. In the present day, Olivia Blake receives a warning note but she believes someone is pranking her and so she ignores it. However, things take a much more serious turn and she realises the threats are real. Who is exacting revenge and why?

This is an easy read popcorn thriller that just requires a comfy chair. It’s a dark tale with some weird and alarming events which grow in intensity and seriousness. It’s a bit spooky and creepy at times, parts are chilling and there are some good suspenseful moments. There is a feeling of claustrophobia, especially as you realise the audaciousness of what is going on. It’s well paced, there’s a lot happening, maybe a bit too much to be honest but it does keep you reading on!

However, it does become a bit predictable and it’s not too hard to work out who is behind it all, although a couple of things are a surprise, so well played there. There are some statements of the blooming obvious which are unnecessary. Few of the characters are likeable however, that is the point of the book but I even find Olivia a little bit whiny at times!!

Overall, it is entertaining, and I will definitely read this authors books again.

With thanks to NetGalley and especially to Boldwood Books for the much appreciated arc in return for an honest review.

A teenage ‘prank’ that goes terribly wrong comes back full force to haunt those involved in the ultimate act of Revenge

Liv, split from long term love Toby after a terrible sex shaming video of him and another woman is posted on Facebook, is now doing ok, kinda, nice house and a new love interest in Noah but a job she loathes at an Estate Agents , one day she is sent to a viewing, a viewing that turns out to be so horrific she cant imagine why it has happened to her, it turns out she knows the victim.....it couldn’t be worse...until it gets worse, oh so much worse and Liv’s life tumbles into a horror show she never thought possible and all linked to the prank she was unwittingly involved in years before
The dark story speeds along with more gruesome murders and Liv realises she is under threat and whoever is doing this is after her, she literally can ‘trust no one’ as the net closes in on her and time is running out
Great characters, really good narrative and a great plot plus some genuinely scary moments made this a fast paced, exciting read where I guessed the culprit wrongly three times in the lead up to a nail biting finish
Revenge isent always a dish best served cold!

When I first found the note, I assumed it was a prank. But then i'm lured to a house where I witnessed a gruesome murder, and I realise that the threat is real. But who is tormenting me though, and why? Noah Keen, my boyfriend, is determined to get to the bottom of things, and soon other familiar faces appear from my past. Ones who are connected to a tragic accident that happened when we were teenagers. They too have received similar notes. Someone knows the truth about what really happened in Norfolk. Someone believes we were responsible and they will not stop until everyone of us has been punished.

I was pulled in from the prologue. It's descriptively written, tense, and you'll question everything and everyone. The pace was fast and there's many twists and red herrings. The characters are well developed, but you'll either love or hate them. The story is told from multiple perspectives. The ending was dramatic and the epilogue finishes this book perfectly.

I would like to thank #NetGalley #BoldwoodBooks and the author #KeriBeevis for my ARC of #TrustNoOne in exchange for an honest review.

Trust No One is the latest standalone psychological thriller from Keri Beevis, set in the Norfolk countryside. Olivia Blake has begun receiving disturbing, anonymous notes informing her that they knew what she did in the past and that she will suffer for her sins but Olivia has no idea what the note is actually referring to. She then receives creepy late-night call on her landline where the caller spoke in a whisper: “a long, long time ago, you did a bad, bad thing. Everyone's past catches up with them eventually, including yours. Soon”. Working for Dandridge and Son Estate Agents, she goes out to 8 Honington Lane in the market town of Swaffham, previously owned by Vera Cadwallader, having received a request to view the property by a one Karen Mortimer. When she arrives at the property she lets herself in and discovers a man bound to a chair with lengths of chain wrapped around his body and a gag is his mouth. A record player is playing “It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” and flames are licking at the guy's legs as he screams in agony.

She flees the scene and later discovers that both Janice Plum and Fern St Clair, old school friends, have been getting the same threatening messages. Olivia believes that someone is entering her home when she's out and becomes fearful and paranoid. Her new boyfriend, Noah, is protective and seemingly cares very much about her issues. But she realises she knows hardly anything about him. Who is sending these terrifying, vengeful messages and why? Does Noah know more than he's letting on? This is a compulsive, creepy and engrossing read from start to finish. It opens with a bang and we are straight in to the action and drama without any messing about, and I really felt for Olivia, who is superbly characterised, having to be put through the wringer like that. The person writing the messages is hell-bent on getting revenge and clearly has not managed to let go of whatever happened in the past. A riveting must-read. Highly recommended. Many thanks to Bloodhound for an ARC.

I thought I had it right, but… nah, Beevis surprised me once again. I have to say, I thought I was in for a mediocre read from Beevis, so confident did I feel that I had guessed the perpetrator. But, hooray! I was wrong and ended up feeling frustrated with myself that I had been so distracted.

This crime fiction does take place over the Christmas period. If you want a break from festive fiction, but like the theme, this is a great thriller to sample! I have read all of Beevis’s writings and, although I primarily believed this to be a weaker novel, I quickly became engrossed in how the plot would develop.

The narrative moves between Olivia, Noah and this mysterious character who is seemingly taking revenge for a death that occurred about a decade previous. The theme of fire connects these revengeful acts as it soon becomes clear that Olivia’s old school acquaintances are being targeted. As a reader, we gradually learn about what happened to Olivia on the fateful night, whilst she grows to trust boyfriend, Noah. The events are tragic and signify to readers that Olivia has a right to be concerned.

I really struggled to engage with Noah as a character. I correctly predicted some of his behaviours but, as Beevis reveals more about his motives, still found him rather slimy and distrustful. I wanted Olivia to avoid him! Reflecting on the plot as a whole, I think the writer could have done more to elaborate on his character, particularly as the revelations increased. Indeed, I found his colleague, Dan, more intriguing and interesting to read about. And Dan was a minor character!

As it became clear how the plot was developing, I found the story grew more interesting. I really thrived off the way Beevis manipulates the reader, unless it was just me that completely mis-read the clues! Indeed, I was quite surprised at some of the murders taking place and thought this showcased Beevis’s writing style. I think what was most unexpected was how the people were murdered and the detail that Beevis provided; it definitely added to the atmosphere of the narrative.

On reflection, I enjoyed this book more than I realised at the time. With plenty of clues, we are with Olivia as we grow to distrust all of the characters. With the surprising revelations, this made the story even more enjoyable. If you have yet to read a book by Beevis, this, and my other reviews, should hopefully persuade you to not miss out any longer.

With thanks to Bloodhound books for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Trust No One by Keri Beevis is a psychological thriller.

First, let me thank NetGalley, the publisher Boldwood Books and of course the author, for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

My Synopsis:    (No major reveals, but if concerned, skip to My Opinions)
Olivia Blake is a real estate agent.  She receives an email from a potential client who wants to view a hard-to-sell property.  When she arrives, Olivia finds the door open, a Christmas tune playing, and a man chained to a chair, about to be engulfed in flames.  Needless to say, she freaks out.  But between being lured to that house, the strange notes she has been receiving, and the feeling of being watched,  she wonders if everything is tied together.  Up til now, she thought they were just a prank (probably by her obnoxious co-worker), but now they have a more ominous feel.

Olivia's boyfriend Noah used to be with the police.  He wants to get to the bottom of this, but Olivia doesn't know what to tell him....and she is starting to lose trust...in everyone.

However, soon things start to tie into a tragic accident from Olivia's high school days, and she finds that old friends are receiving similar notes.   Someone seems to want revenge.

My Opinions:
I found this book to move a little too slowly, and it probably could have been shorter.  The plot, however, was really good, and although I figured out the perpetrator fairly early, there were enough other suspicious characters to keep me interested.  I, too, wondered who to trust.  There were a lot of red herrings.

Topics include bullying, harassment, revenge and murder.  Topics also include love and friendship.

Overall, it was a good book, but just not as great as others by this author....but it won't stop me from grabbing her next one!

This is a brilliant book that I devoured in one sitting.
Olivia receives a note telling her that she’s done a bad, bad thing and everyone’s past catches up with them. It worries her but she then thinks it’s a prank, until she receives a phone call telling her the same thing.
Her housemate sees someone in the garden a few days later so Olivia’s boyfriend, Noah installs cameras.
Olivia is asked to attend a viewing for the estate agents she works at but when she gets there she sees a horrifying sight.
Olivia is then approached by a girl she went to school with and she accuses Liv of sending her the same note.
There’s no love lost between Fern and Olivia but if they’ve both received notes, what’s going on?
It soon becomes clear there’s a group of them that received the notes and one by one they are being killed.
Noah wants to help Liv but the deeper he gets into it, the more danger he’s in.
This is a great read and I absolutely loved the nail biting conclusion.
Thanks to Keri Beevis for sending me a copy to read.

When she was fourteen, Olivia Blake survived a cottage fire while on a school trip. Her friend did not. Although tragic, the fire was ruled an accident, and Olivia moved on with her life. Now, over a decade later, she’s being stalked and terrorized by someone who claims to know what really happened that night — and is determined to make her and all involved pay. As her former classmates are burned to death one at a time, it’s clear whoever it is is coming for Olivia too.

With the help of her new boyfriend and the support of her best friend, she tries to figure out the identity of the killer before it’s too late. But her boyfriend and friend have secrets of their own that make her doubt their motives. Petrified and paranoid, Olivia only knows one thing as her torment intensifies. She can trust no one.

An anxiety inducing thrill ride filled with more truth-distorting twists than a fun house mirror, “Trust No One” by Keri Beevis is a crime thriller that will keep you at your wit’s end. Be prepared to clench your gluteus maximus and wipe your sweaty palms on the legs of your pants as you read.

This book has everything it needs to keep you on the edge of your seat. A fast moving plot that barely slows down to take a breath. Main characters that you like, but don’t quite trust. And plenty of the stuff that makes your neck hairs stand on end and your spidey senses tingle. Olivia’s fear is palpable. The suspense is intense and heart-pounding. By the end, you’re as exhilarated as you are jumpy from some terrifying scenes.

Just be warned. There are a few points in the book where you’ll think you’ve figured out the identity of the killer. Eventually, you probably will. Just remember the fun that comes with reading a thriller isn’t solving the mystery. It’s the big bang of a twist that always lurks toward the end. “Trust No One” is good all the way through, but the big twist that comes toward the end? KABLOOEY! It’s stunning!

Big almighty shivers running down your spine.
What happens when you play with fire?
Trust no one, Move to the countryside to a remote location, with less people and trouble goes away, but it's not all it cracked up to be.
Olivia Blake estate agent worker for Dandridge and son, finds a note on her car, it wasn't a joke, it was a threat. Home in Salhouse village Norfolk Broads, then her phone rings thinking it's her mum, a low whisper,
a long long time ago you did a bad thing, everyone's past catches up with them eventually including yours soon.
It has spooked her, a unfunny prank and surreal stuff follows and she's not the only one getting these messages, someone is watching, someone wants them to suffer and pay, someone is out to kill, this is someone from a long long time ago, Trust No One.

Oh Boy Oh Boy what a read, fast pace action, I never could keep up with the suspects as so many are hit and only from this one person the book just keeps you guessing and guessing all the way through. Wow absolutely fantastic, that is unputdownable.

wanted to love this

I wanted so badly to love this book but it was so repetitive, good twists, but too much repeating of conversations. But overall it was really good and the twists were great! I just had to skip over a lot of the repetitive things! But I would read it again!

"A long, long time ago, you did a bad, bad thing. Now it’s time to pay..."

When Olivia Blake first found the note on her car, she thought it was a prank. Then when she arrived at the house that had been on her firm's books forever and was unsellable, she assumed this was her colleague's idea of a joke. But when she wandered the darkened halls and followed the Christmas music to the kitchen where she found a man bound and gagged and doused in petrol, she knew this was no joke. Least of all because of the flames that were licking at his legs and gradually consuming the rest of him, his screams muffled by the gag in his mouth. Olivia turned and fled the house screaming, running out on to the road and without looking was hit by a car. She woke up in hospital with a sizeable headache and the visions of the man burning to death.

Days later, Olivia learns that the name of the man and realises she knew him almost twenty years ago at school. So maybe her being being at the house for a viewing that never happened was no accident. Someone lured her there. Someone who knew about what happened in her past. But then why are they targeting her? She's done nothing wrong. Has she?

When she was 14 years old, Olivia was inadvertently involved in a prank that went horribly wrong. She had been betrayed by her best friend who was nothing if not cruel, showing her true colours after Olivia returned to school in the most cruellest and shameless ways. Olivia confides in her boyfriend Noah Keen about the truth of what happened to her and together they discover that the others involved in this harmful prank have also received similar notes. But no one has uttered a word about what happened all those years ago...and Olivia was oblivious to what really took place...unless she's the one who has been sending them? Olivia denies it...but then Fern says she would, wouldn't she?

Then one by one, each of those involved in that prank die a horrible painful death. And Olivia and Fern know that the past is coming back to haunt them in a big way. Someone knows what happened...and they are making every single one of them pay.

And yet several questions remain. Who is stalking Olivia? What is Noah hiding? And what really happened in the woods all those years ago?

Teenagers are the worst for pranks. Seriously. They think it's incredibly funny but in actual fact it is downright cruel and sometimes even dangerous. Although this prank was intended to be harmless it didn't end up that way. And several other pranks were even crueller. I don't miss being a teenager that's for sure. In this tale, the teenage prank that went horribly wrong comes back to haunt all those involved in the ultimate act of revenge. It isn't totally hard to work out what the revenge is for when you learn what happened. But narrowing down who it is is a little trickier. I had two people in my sights as possible suspects. One I really didn't want to be the villain and the other one I really DID want to be the villain! LOL I leaned more towards the one I wanted it to be from about 40% in and from then on I picked up subtle clues that merely confirmed it to be that person. I was thrilled upon discovering I was right. I don't think it is obvious. I have just learnt what to look for...or what not to look for. And knowing who it was for most of the book didn't spoil my enjoyment because for me the thrill is in the ride. And Keri Beevis certainly gave us that!

A dark story with more gruesome murders than a Midsomer Murders episode, this thriller moves along swiftly with Olivia completely oblivious to everything and everyone, whilst jumping at shadows and reluctant to trust those closest to her. But as the past has shown her, she can literally trust no one as the net closes in and her past comes rushing back to haunt her.

A great set of characters, though not all likeable...in fact most of them are relatively unlikelable. Even Olivia herself was often irritating. A tightly woven plot and a great narrative makes this fast paced thriller an addictive and exciting read right up to it's nail-biting end. Even the epilogue was a nice touch.

One of the best Beevis thrillers I've read to date.

They say your past will always come back to haunt you. In Olivia’s case though, she is adamant she hasn’t done anything wrong to warrant what is happening in the present. It’s obvious that something must have happened but what exactly and does she have something to hide? Well the author ensured I had a very entertaining time finding out.

There are some quite horrific scenes in the story although thankfully the author doesn’t go into any great detail. The thought of watching someone burn to death, I felt traumatised just reading about it and could only imagine what it must be like to see it in person. In one way I was trying to imagine the intensity of heat from the fire but I was chilled to the bone from the horror of it all.

As the story goes on, the pacing and suspense is almost electrifying. I was pounding a way at my Kindle, turning the pages frantically to see if Olivia was going to make it out alive and to who was behind the threats. As the body count kept rising, I was getting closer and closer to the edge of my seat as I couldn’t sit still in anticipation how it was all going to end.

Trust No One starts off with a very chilling beginning and by heck did the epilogue send shivers down my spine. I loved the authors story telling which had me addicted throughout. It’s a story that whilst not reading, I was thinking about and wondering what was going to happen next. As the title suggested, I trusted no one and was second guessing everyone’s intentions. An addictive, page turner of a read.

Thank you to Boldwood Books & NetGalley for an ARC of this book, in exchange for my honest opinion.

Olivia is busy living her life trying to get over what happened to her when she was 14. She has a great new lodger named Molly whose becoming a friend, and a new boyfriend Noah who she is really falling for. Everything seems to be going good until it’s not. She’s lured to a house where she watches an innocent man burn to death. But afterwards she finds out she knew the man, went to high school with him. Now creepy notes are showing up for her, and someone has been breaking into her house. As she begins to realize what is happening in the present is closely linked to what happened back in high school, she tries to unravel the mystery as the clock is ticking.

I love a good thriller, but this book was a bit too intense for me. Filled with graphic violence, and scenes of terror, it was hard to get through. This book was also extremely long, and each chapter seemed to endlessly drag on. Overall, this thriller was not for me.

This book was absolutely insane! I wanted to find the murderer so bad but there was always something that hadn't adding up!

The reveal was really great and I found out before that who was the murderer but I hadnt find the motive until later, I just hated the character and wanted the person to be guilty lmao!

I read it at night and I was really stressed during the last 20/30%, it was just so good and so well written!

I totally recommend it if you want a good thriller

Thanks to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for access to this Arc in exchange for my honest review.

This is the first book I read of this author and it was quite nice. It's crazy how a ''prank'' can have such consequences. I felt so bad for Olivia when she had no idea why she was being targeted. Slowly building suspense, it was not much of a surprise for me when the guilty was revealed. The writing style made me enjoy the book though.

Trust No One?.. Well you can trust Keri Beevis to write an absolutely fabulous book!!!
Olivia Blake, single, employed at an estate agents and lives in her own large, isolated home with her friend, Molly, and her cute cat, Luna. Why is she being threatened?! From a loving, respectable home, kind Olivia goes through her days without any drama, so why is she being targeted?!
I liked Olivia and I felt for her - her ex longterm partner doing the dirty on her and a drip Jeremy giving her a bit of grief at work, she didn't deserve that, never mind some psycho on the loose having a pop at her.
8 Honington Lane is where it starts, or so it seems, and I was totally hooked!
I liked Noah Keen, Olivia's boyfriend, he protected her and yet Olivia becomes suspicious of him... I would, anyone would... You don't know what you've done wrong, you begin to suspect everyone around you because you become paranoid. Who do you trust?!
The setting was perfect for the story, Norfolk, out in the sticks, you think that your safe, but you're not.
Olivia isn't alone in being threatened, but how are Olivia and the others connected?
This story has a real creepiness, which I loved, and I was also suspicious of everyone. The author shows her talent, her imagination, how her writing gets under your skin and unnerves you. In a good way, though. I didn't want to stop reading this book until I'd finished it, it is that gripping. I didn't have to wait long for more victims to appear and as the story went on, I became more suspicious of one person in particular. I have said before that some books should be made into a drama or a film and this book is one of them. I can't think of one negative thing about this book. Only, that I wish that I could read it again for the first time. The ending was superb, but then, so is the whole story. This is my first book by this author and already, she has been added to my 'don't need to read the synopsis before I read the book,' favourite authors. The author's writing and plotting is impeccable.
Thank you, to the author, for keeping me entertained and in doing so, helping me to forget my physical pain and my mind off the bad things going on in the world right now.

Is It Wrong To Hope The Bad Guy Succeeds?

Interesting premise. Prank gone wrong years ago comes to bite those who participated years later. I called the twist pretty much right off the bat, which spoiled it for me in a way. But the characters were flawed. Not flawed in a “they come from rough beginnings” type, but more “how can this character be so stupid, they deserve whatever is coming for them”. And that’s the two central characters, Olivia and Noah. All of these bad things keep happening and she’s like “maybe I’m just paranoid and should live my life.” Girl. Then Noah and his “I know the truth and can save so and so before anything happens, but I know, I should keep it to myself rather than bother anyone with it”. Come on.

And yet I read the whole thing.

"Trust No One" by Keri Beevis? What an absolutely riveting read! Because, you know, who doesn't love spending hours flipping through 400 pages only to reach a final act that's as surprising as yesterday's weather forecast? The predictability was just the cherry on top of this literary masterpiece, leaving me utterly underwhelmed and questioning my life choices. Okay that was such a bummer. I really liked the other two books I read by this author… but unfortunately, I found this one predictable and boring.

I’m still going to give her other books a try. But I didn’t like this one very much!

I thought I was in for something crazy but I guessed it straight away.

This wasn’t a bad book, I’m just upset that it didn’t thrill me the way Beevis books have in the past.
