Susan Tassone has penned yet another moving book of spiritual prayers & reflections based on the writings of Saint Faustina. This book contains prayer reflections based on the Diary of Saint Faustina during the time of Lent, Holy Week, the Divine Mercy Feast Day itself & other times of suffering undergone by members of the Catholic Church & believers in the Divine Mercy of Christ. The book is inspirational & a must have for all the faithful interested in developing their spirituality during the time of Lent. It is a book that is based primarily on the writings of Saint Faustina, the words of Lord Jesus spoken to her & the words of other spiritual figures like Mother Mary, Saint Joseph, Saint Theresa of the Child Jesus etc who manifested themselves to her when she was alive. The book contains well chronicled & abridged spiritual material from the writings of Saint Faustina which aid in spiritual reflections during the season of Lent. The book focuses on the way one should handle suffering in one's life, how devotion to the Divine Mercy can help others & oneself on the road to salvation & also on how constant meditation on the Passion of Christ can change the way we look at the world & ourselves. This book contains among the many Divine Mercy meditations, several devotions to the various wounds of Christ, his Precious Blood, his Holy Face as well as devotions & litanies to Our Lady of Sorrows etc. It is a book one needs to return to again & again for uplifting spiritual direction for a life devoted to praying the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy as well as meditation on the Passion of Christ. The EWTN bestselling author Susan Tassone has managed to organize in a very potent way the various words of Christ to Saint Faustina that act as instant motivational tools as well as spiritual uplifting messages for all who since the year 2000 A.D have become devoted to this aspect of Christ's divinity & mercy. It is an easy to read book, well edited & very good for gifting. It is definitely possible that after reading & praying with this book that the laity will be motivated to read the famous bestselling Diary of Saint Faustina & other Divine Mercy devotional material. Susan Tassone's mentioning of her first 'Faustina Diary' experience brought back memories to me of the time I myself first stumbled upon Saint Faustina's Diary in the year 2007 in my Church's Bible stall which was set up during Bible Sunday week. I was 17 years old back then & the Diary made a huge indelible impression on me, it also made a similar impression on Tassone. Read more about it in this book & start learning more about this fascinating 20th century Saint who has made her mark upon the first two decades of the 21st century as well; in fact, now there is more likely a chance of Saint Faustina being qualified enough to be the next Doctor of the Catholic Church! 'Praying with Jesus & Faustina' gets 4 stars from me.

This book was a perfect Lenten companion for me - short and focused. In addition to the daily reflections, it includes many prayers and Divine Mercy devotions that I know I will turn to year after year (and not just during Lent).

I am so grateful for purgatory lady- Susan Tassone's- wonderful writing and her deep love and passion for God. This beautiful devotional has been balm for my soul during these difficult times. I am continually immersing myself in God's mercy because of St. Faustina's diary. These nuggets of wisdom are a treasure trove.

Blessed Lent all.

Good. Kind of boring to be honest though. It simply has quotes from her diary and The Bible. In my opinion you might as well buy her diary. Wasn't what I was looking for. May be good to have a complementary devotion book such as the Lenten Magnificat. Overall, nothing wrong, just a little too simple for my taste.
