Aisling Grimlock should be happy.

She’s living with and engaged to the man of her dreams, her mother isn’t eating people… at least out in the open, her best friend is distracted by wedding details… mostly, and there are zombies running around Detroit.

Yeah, it’s that last one that’s driving her crazy… especially because no one in her family believes her when she spouts the tall tale.

Aisling Grimlock is a reaper in trouble. She’s got big decisions in front of her and nonstop trouble chasing behind. The dead appear to be rising… and they’ve got their eyes (and teeth, for that matter) trained on Aisling and her family.

Even though the rest of the family thinks she’s exaggerating – or even lying because she’s looking for attention – they’re determined to help before Aisling goes over the edge. It seems there might be a little something going on, and Aisling might have been right all along.

You know what that means, right? Yes, she’s doing her “I’m right” dance… and then ducking for cover.

It’s going to take every Grimlock to fight this enemy, and even then, Aisling will be isolated in the end. The question is: Can she win the day or is she destined to join the creatures stalking her?

4 Stars... The Zombie Apocalypse is here... Of course Aisling was right, right?... She is certainly doing her "I'm right!!!" dance which means it must be true... Once again the Grimlocks take on an unknown adversary focused on harnessing the reapers' blood for power; they must ban together and attempt not to kill one another in the process... On top of all that, wedding plans are in full swing which has Aisling on the edge and Jerry needing to be reigned in; thank goodness for the calm and cool mind of Griffin... All in all chaos ensues which is standard procedure for this Reaper family... With all the sarcasm and wit flying around, does any enemy really stand a chance???:)

It All Started

It all started with the first "Grim" book. I laughed, I snorted, I giggled until tears rolled down my face. I read everything you wrote from that point on. My only issue is that I read faster than you write. Thank you for the amazing talent you are willing to share with us.

Aisling Grimlock is planning a wedding that she is very nervous about, and she's having a hard time dealing with all the planning. Not to mention, she finally thinks zombies are coming after her, and she can't figure out why.

But as Aisling and her family try to figure it all, then encounter a few new people, and have a few runins with the police as well.

This was another great addition to this series. It was funny, had drama, a dash of romance, and of course some zombies. I look forward to reading more!

Good, not best

I really like Amanda Lee's works and he e read most of them. I really love the Grimlocks and the Witches of the Midwest but the Grimlocks have always been my favorites. My issue with this one is the abrupt ending. It's like she finished the story arc but didn't feel the need to tie up some of the plot bits. Well worth the read, just not my favorite.

Get ready for the zombie apocalypse Grimlock stole the

Given Aisling comes from a family of reapers you would think believing in zombies would not be much of a strech. Not so, when Aisling is attacked walking home from a restaurant, after having been out for a meal with Griffin, she's attacked by a man who then falls down dead. When the police and medical examiner arrive they reduce the dead man had been dead for at least a month. Griffin believes there is a rational explanation So does Aislings father and brothers. Rational explanations in Aislings world never happen. So starts book 7 in the series and it's as good as ever, there is not as much action or danger as in previous books but the humour is still there. As the series is only due to run for another book of two, before it will continue but be then written from Aislings brothers perspectives. At least that is what's on the authors blog. So maybe this book is the calm before the storm a bit of light relief before events take a sinister turn as the situation with Aislings mother and the wraiths is finally resolved whatever the reason it's still a good book and sets the stage for a great finale.

As usual, I'm a huge fan of Aisling and Ms. Lee's work!!!

This book was so good in so many ways. First - seeing Griffin and Aisling's relationship at work is always fun. I love that it's not always smooth sailing and they both have to make compromises here and there. Watching Aisling freak out about wedding stuff was fun too - and far too relatable. It made me remember my own panic when I realized how much there was to do and that I had no idea how to do it! (I was def NOT the girl who spent years thinking about and planning her wedding prior to the event, so I related very heavily).

I loved the surprises and twists and turns in this book, every time I thought I maybe knew what was going on, something else would crop up and make me doubt everything I suspected.

The ongoing saga with Aisling's mom continues... is she good? is she bad? Is she good for now because she has some long-term agenda to be extra bad? It's so hard to know!!!!!

So, basically, still loving these books... this entire series really, and this is a great addition to it.

I am a fan of Amanda M. Lee books. I have read a lot of what she has written. The way she develops her main characters and their personalities. I am currently catching up on the Grimlock's lives.

She develops snarky characters who have bold personalities. She has a definitive way of writing that is reflected in all her books. This book is on par with all of the rest of the storyline that has come before it. If you have never read one of her books, I would suggest picking up one and taking it for a test drive. I am sure that her style is not for everyone. However, if you do enjoy one, you are more than likely to enjoy all of them.

Having said that, I will add the disclaimer that I haven't read all of them since I also try to vary my reading experiences along with having to spend time doing other things. :)

Zombies- what's next

Once again another good book. It's filled with action, mystery, some twists, everyday problems, supernatural problems, a sprinkling of romance,a couple overarching problems and plenty of humor. If you like urban fantasy or paranormal romance you should definitely try this book. The romance is intertwined throughout in a variety of ways but it's also kind of light and fade to black - it's kind of like a middle ground. There's plenty of snark and the grimlock family as a whole is great and family dinners might be one of my favorite times at grimlock manor. This is definitely a series to read in order to really grasp all the details and interplay between characters. This book does end on a happy for now feeling like life might be smoothing out a bit but leaving just enough problems & loose ends to keep us coming back. Good book would recommend.

Braaaaaaaaaains!!!

Sooooo good! Aisling is sure zombies are stalking her, unfortunately no one believes her. However there are some really strange things going on & the police are definitely stalking her. The usual cast of characters is back. There is the usual but highly enjoyable sibling bickering, father/daughter spoiling, Angelina trashing, Jerry whining (although I must admit I would have loved more of Jerry) & Griffin lovin'. We do get more of Aisling's mother this time & get to see a different side of her. The humor is this book is outstanding. I nearly wet my pants laughing when Aisling had to retrieve her two souls! Yet there are many scary, tense moments in here, too. Another fantastic Grimlock book!!

Aisling is a bit stressed out.

Griffin and her family are still doing the protective hover thing (so she almost died a few weeks ago—get over it!)...and she is freaking out about planning a wedding. Aisling has never been “girly” and would rather elope. She’s also worried that her dangerous lifestyle as a trouble magnet reaper, will end up killing her fiancé, Griffin.

What could make things even more interesting? Why zombies of course!

Another fun romp in the Grimlock family as they argue, spend lots of money at the Apple store, and find inventive ways to occupy themselves during a day in house arrest. The entire crew returns (to include Aisling’s nemesis, Angelina and her best friend, Jerry...who is all about the wedding planning).

The Zombies Are Coming!

Nothing like the Grim's snarky family fun to make me laugh out loud. Aisling and Griffin should be busy with wedding plans but, on the walk back from dinner, a zombie falls on her and died. Truly bizarre, cops and none of her family believe her, but they, also, could not explain the man had been dead for a month. Get ready for Grim fun family style. None of these books would be complete without Jerry, I wish I had a bff like him. The highlight of the book was the creative water balloon fight, I won't spoil the surprise but the scene was classic. Buy the book and get ready to smile, giggle and laugh out loud.

Zombies! You're pulling my leg!

Fantastic fantasy. Being a Reaper she is not unused to strange happenings but the latest has everyone fearing for her sanity. Zombies - yeah right! is everyone's reaction. Have the wedding preparations driven her over the edge? A terrific read about a Reaper family that is completely dysfunctional and OTT with a soul sucking mother as just one crazy member. Great characters and it's been a pleasure to journey with them through the books. The plots have been tongue in cheek but carried through by the sarcasm and humour of the characters. Is there more to Ais than meets the eye? I think so but maybe this will be cleared up in future books.

Aisling is not sure which of her two problems are the bigger. The fact that zombies are wandering around Detroit and no-one believes her, or that everyone else seems to have an opinion on how her wedding should go, in direct contrast to how she would like to see things herself. Griffin is his usual wonderful self and for once Aisling seems like the sane one in the Grimlock clan, putting her considerable wit (albeit hidden under all that snark) to work. She seems at the edge of grasping that something bigger is afoot here and as always her instincts are spot on. I can't wait to see how the bigger plot of mother is going to work out.

Good Next Book

Overall, Grim Rising is another good installment of the Aisling Grimlock Series. The beginning is a little slow with relationship doubts but picks up speed with the normal snark and fun family interactions. My favorite quote focuses on the meaning of life (very deep!), “You’re supposed to be afraid of death because you don’t want to lose what you have.” My favorite scenes involve zombie survival advice, gift distribution, and seeing all the pieces fall into place. I think in this book, the Grimlocks realize what they all have together.

Wedding planning is freaking Aisling out and then while following Angelina, she runs into a walking corpse.

What I enjoyed:
* I love the family interactions
* Aisling is fun as always, especially when proven right. Plus she grows some as a person. Her interactions with the police were hilarious.
*

What could have been better:
* the end was abrupt and didn't give enough detail on the villain

needs a refresh

I really enjoyed the first couple of books, but after that it seemed like the character development stopped. No one - especially the main character- seems to have changed or grown at all, if I was stuck in the Grimlock mansion with the family- specifically the supposedly adult children - I would lose my mind. Braden and Aiden are super childish, Redmond has zero personality and Cillian likes to do research. The father groans and acts as if he’s about to stroke out from frustration, and I still don’t understand the deal with Lily.

Grim Rising indeed

I read this book straight through. Could not put it down. Lots of laughs, lots of cringes and lots of "feels" in this book. I love the relationship between all of the characters and how much they grow each book. I love that Aisling got to throw the zombies theory in everyone's face. She and Griffin come out stronger. There was even a surprise bad guy in the end. Really enjoy this series, can't wait for the next.

I love this series and enjoyed this book. I agree that the self-doubt became a little annoying. I also felt like the reason behind Det. Green's fixation on Aisling as well as the bad guy's (no, I won't reveal who) motivation for everything wasn't explained, which left holes that usually aren't there with these books. Maybe the ending was rushed? I don't know. Regardless, it's a very enjoyable read with lots of antics, snark, and laughs. Can't wait for the next one.

I really adore this series and this may just be my favorite installment yet! Griffin and Aisling are fantastic, and it was nice to see them both have a few insecurities regarding the wedding. I always love the secondary characters, and it seemed like Aisling grew a little bit here. The plot was interesting and unique as always, and I was definitely surprised by the bad guy!! So excited for the next one, even though it means we are closer to this series ending!

This series was read back to back, I found books 1, 2, 3 introductory and sometimes tedious, 4 onwards is like a soap opera - think Soap or Benson,
it is funny, ridiculous, full of snorts, chortles, titters and guffaws, very comfortable in a tailored to fit kind of way.
Impressed with the series and look forward more of Aisling Grimm and Family, as well as reading the series again.
Thank you for your words Amanda M. Lee, very much appreciated (-:

Classic Grimlock

This is one of the better Grimlock stories--not too much arguing between Jerry and Aisling which can get tiresome. While Aisling is in rare form (and that can occasionally be irritating as well), it is at an acceptable level and often funny. The story contains a mystery--are there really zombies, and who sent them? Good work!

Aisling Grimlock takes drama to a new level, with secondary characters that balances her out. Zombies found around the neighborhood, a cop who wants to pin murder on Aisliing and Lily stepping in to kick butt is how the Grimlocks handles the latest problems. Once you get past Aisling's whining and drama it is an amusing and fun story.

Zombies Zombies Zombies

Once again another captivating story from Amanda Lee. While there was some snarky humor, the Grimlock clan seems to be maturing in some ways. Loved the "water" balloons. Failing is coming to terms with her mother a and with being a girlie girl. Waiting and watching for the next book. Can't wait for the wedding.

Zombies Are Real, Aren't They?

Loved this book. Extremely tongue in cheek funny and witty. As usual for th I s series each story can be read as a standalone. All the characters play parts in the plot and are well developed and work well. The family dynamics are great. Please read this book as well as the series.

Grim Rising

Griffin & Aisling are planning their wedding. Aisling's arch nemesis Amanda has Aisling's attention. Amanda is acting strange. This book has me wishing the eighth book was already written. Amanda M. Lee has turned into one of my favorite Authors. I'm not a big fan of zombies but Aisling & her family deal with quite a few. While finding out what is really happening.
