Nasa has been introduced to Tsukasa’s family…sort of. Now it’s time for Tsukasa to meet her in-laws! Nasa is determined to do whatever it takes to make a long bus ride romantic, while Tsukasa is just happy to check out food courts along the way. Little do they know that Chitose and her maids are on their tail, bent on turning their quickie honeymoon into a quickie divorce!
This manga is balancing on the knife edge of comedy and saccharine sweetness and, at least in this volume it balanced well. The relationship of the two main characters is cute and loving and models well why two people should get married (even if it is fast and unexpected). I liked this volume more than the last; perhaps due to the greater inclusion of the couple's families who have unexpected reactions to the marriage. Fun, and not yet too cheesy and sweet.
3.5 stars, mostly due to the thoughtful, mature approach to love and consideration in a relationship combined with silly embarrassment.
**Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
Seriously, I love this book. At this point in the book the sister is trying to make sure they're really in love. Spying on them as they travel on their way to meet Nasa's parents. There's some really cute moments mixed with a great line from Nasa "You don't marry someone because you love them. You marry them to prove you love them." Great stuff.
Then we hit the last few chapters with Nasa's parents. SO cute and a surprise of emotional bits that made me feel a lot of feels.
Overall, if you love Rom-Com this book is hands down one of the best IMO.
(With apologies to my parents, who have to see eight years of university come to this...)
Fly Me to the Moon, Heads out to Nara (not Sumatra), Please note that the book has naught... ...to do with Frank Sinatra. In other words, holding hands. In other words, maybe kissing.
Please don’t get me wrong, This book is cute and not a chore, And if that’s all you long for, You get that and not much more. In other words, it’s not poo, In other words, I... chuckled too.

They’re off to meet his folks, This series is truly pretty slight, Since my review is done like this, You probably guessed that, right? In other words, I think you kneeeeeeew... All these words, in other words... Three. Star. Re...
Time to meet the parents! The newlyweds consider it a honeymoon trip as they travel to Nara and stop in Kyoto for some sightseeing. Tsukasa's little foster sister intrudes to remind everyone she disapproves of Nasa as a husband, but then it's time to visit Nasa's parents to see if they'll disapprove of Tsukasa.
Fun in its gentle and wholesome way.
Tsukasa's background remains a mystery, but if the series takes a turn to the supernatural, there are several very obvious hints that may be involved.
Nasa wants to move into a bigger apartment so that he and Tsukasa can sleep in one large bed instead of their current arrangement - him in the bed and she on the floor next to him. In order to get a bigger apartment, they'll need a guarantor - which means Nasa is going to have to tell his parents he got married, something he's neglected to do yet. Nasa's parents insist on meeting his wife before they do anything, so the couple must travel from Tokyo to Nara. They stop over in Kyoto to do some sightseeing. Along the way, the couple realizes that Chitose, Tsukasa's "sister" is following them and trying to sabotage and/or understand why they got married in the first place. Chitose steals Nasa and demands he take her around Kyoto as if they were dating in order for her to see why Tsukasa fell in love with him.
Hata continues to hint that there is something different about Tsukasa, but we are nowhere near understanding what that is. The mystery, plus the absolute adorable nature of this story, is really keeping me entertained. Tsukasa and Nasa continue to have cute moments where both are blushing uncontrollably. They are starting to become more comfortable with each other as a couple, but that extends to hand holding and kissing at the moment. While Nasa may have thoughts of consummating the marriage, he gets far too nervous just kissing her or holding her as she sleeps to really get too far.
I’m still undecided about this series. This volume was cute though. Much better than the last one. I may continue this series but I’m not in a big hurry to pickup the next installment. I really want to know more about Tsukasa’s origins and where she went before she married Nasa.
Nasa and Tsukasa sleep in separate beds right now, and Nasa wants to bridge that gap, which means he needs a bigger bed, and a bigger house to go along with it, so that she can be more comfortable, and *ahem* he can get closer to her physically. If you think I am judging him, I most definitely am, since this perv tries to feel her up when she is sleeping with the reasoning that she is his wife after all. [Insert PSA that this is Not Okay] Anyway, when it comes to getting a bigger house, he realizes he hasn't told his parents (who he needs as a guarantor) about his marriage yet, which prompts a call, and an invitation (read 'order') from this mother to come visit. So it is honeymoon time for the newlyweds, as they hop on a bus to Nara, while also being interrupted by that Chitose who is determined to break up their marriage. Further hints about Tsukasa being older than she seems sprinkled about point to an 'immortal getting first taste of normal life' type of backstory. When Chitose points out that Nasa knows next to nothing about his new wife, he confidently says that it is fate and I am like, Sure Jan we'll call it that. The introduction of his parents was a hilarious addition, I have to admit, because suddenly you realize why he is Like That. Still, this romance has yet to convince me of anything, no matter how much sugar and fluff it throws in my way.
Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review from Viz Media LLC, via Edelweiss.
My favorite part of volume three is the trip to the parents, especially the late night ramen stop. There's the excitement over a famous local dish that for the two ends up being over hyped.
Their experience reminds me of an overnight bus trip I took from Morelia to Mexico City and a stop we made a restaurant about an hour out of the city proper. It was a famous hang out for famous people and my Mexican traveling companions recognized a few telenovela stars in the place. I meanwhile was eager to get back to the city and into bed.
I continue to love watching these two stumble over each other and stumble through their newlywed life together. We get a honeymoon, and we go to visit NASA's parents. It was truly an enjoyable time!
Thank you Netgalley for providing a review copy of this book.
Ok, so I wasn’t going to go back to this series but then I did. The cover had me and then there I was and compared to Vol.2 this book is better. Also, my expectations have now been set that this is very much a cliche point by point story that I’m not judging this nearly as much as before.
There is a throwaway comment by Tsukasa which implies at her “mystery” but as we’re now at the end of volume 3 and have learned nothing I’m not expecting this storyline to gain much traction anytime soon. Instead this seems more about the two of them muddling through as an instant couple.
I want to continue with this serious because I’m stubborn and also because I can not figure out how you can make 15 volumes out of the current storyline, so I’m intrigued.
I liked this volume better than volume 2 but still could be better. I am....intrigued by Tsukasa's back story though, it keeps being implied there is more to it but hasn't been shared yet and I will admit that the snippets are keeping me hooked enough to go on with the series.
As bad as the first two. The hero is emotionally stupid, the heroine is boring. Nothing interesting actually happening in the manga. A waste of money and time.
This comic blends comedy with saccharine sweetness in a thoughtful manner that comes out well balanced in this volume. In addition to that, this volume actually deals with some mature themes involving marriage and love. I find Nasa’s take interesting on marriage; people don’t marry because they’re in love but rather they marry to prove their love. Furthermore, he states that having an inkling of something and proving it later on is actually quite sound and scientific, and applies to quite a lot of things. He also states he intends to spend his life proving his love… aww. This volume really has some punches spring loaded, but delivered in a gentle manner.
I think that Tsukasa makes a really good and profound observation. If you notice how someone talks about others, it says a lot about their own character. Since Nasa almost always makes sure to open an introduction of another person with a compliment, Tsukasa interprets him to be a gentleman and a truly kindhearted soul. I also love how Nasa and Tsukasa both love each other in ways pertaining to their small mannerisms, the more subtle parts of their personalities such as the way they speak, the way they drink from a cup, how they wake up in the morning… it’s all so tender and sweet and I want that. Also, is Tsukasa human? There are some bits here and there that truly make me wonder what she is. For example, she recognized a place in Nara by its mountains, stating that even in a thousand years, mountains don’t change. Maybe she’s just really poetic, though I feel that’s not the case.
Overall, there were many moments in this volume that made me gush with the cuteness and really relate to the couple. It’s really nice watching them be together and so very in love together. We’re also getting to know both these characters and their families more and more and I’m quite enjoying watching everyone unfurl.
The awkward cuteness continues as Nasa and Tsukasa settle deeper into married life. Discussions come up about getting a larger apartment, as well as a larger bed, one that they could share. Tsukasa is initially hesitant about a larger space to live in, because she enjoys how close their small space makes her feel to Nasa, but when he mentions that a larger place means they could fit a bed they could cuddle in (because apparently these newlyweds aren't thinking about sex yet- odd, but whatever), she comes around to liking the idea. Also, Nasa finally calls his parents to tell them he got married, which prompt the "meet the in-laws" story line. The couple take a bus, and while Nasa tries his best to make the trip romantic, Tsukasa is happy getting to eat stereotypical touristy travel food from various vendors along the way. Tsukasa's little sister Chitose and her band of battle maids make another appearance, still trying to break up the young couple, and Nasa's parents are beyond estatic to welcome Tsukasa to the family. We get some hints into Tsukasa and Chitose's past, but nothing concrete yet. There's not really any action going on, but the series so far is cute and sweet, slice-of-life with a bit of mystery underneath- hopefully we'll get more hints in the next volume!
A natural progression of an unconventional marriage, meeting the inlaws!
Nasa Yuzaki and Tsukasa are settling into married life at home with a few hiccups. While Tsukasa is low-maintenance, Nasa continues to question her happiness, unsuccessfully. In doing so, the two embark on a honeymoon to visit Nasa-kun's family in Southern Japan.
The humor and practicality are still very present in this wholesome story of the married life for this young couple. The sci-fi plot is very lightly hinted at in this volume but is still not present. The interaction between characters focuses on the couple for much of the story but there are some familiar characters that make appearances. While this volume was not very exciting, it does satisfy readers' interest in the character's budding romance.
Hopefully, the plot picks up the pace, and more meaningful stories come soon!
It's funny, it's cute, it's irreverent, it's comical, it's lovey-dovey, it's manic, it's innocent. I LOL hard several times with each new volume. The facial expressions crack me up. I just realized that every female in this story is unhinged in one way or another. That bath house girl, geez she reminds me of Harley Quinn. Only instead of swinging a huge wooden mallet, she's wielding a dirty mop! So anyhow, the loving couple grow closer. Now it's time to meet Nasa's parents, if only Chitose and her battle maids will stop interfering! Nasa and Tsukasa decide to turn the trip home into a honeymoon. Little sister is following, though, and intent on spoiling what she considers to be a sham marriage. What will Nasa and Tsukasa do?
A cutesy manga about a couple who got married before they got to know each other. Liked the format and the images in this volume, with the interactions b/w the main characters and their innocence. Reading the English version I did come across areas where it felt like some of the dialog and sound effects were getting lost in translation. Overall a fun read if you’re into shoujo manga.
Fly Me to the Moon volume 3 is definitely my favorite so far. I was waiting for these kids to finally address how their sudden marriage would impact their families and a trip to Nara to visit Nasa’s parents was just the thing. This series is really cute. I think I will continue it if I can find more volumes for a good price.
It will always be a 5 star read I absolutely adore fly me to the moon and I would recommend it for other people to read it for a soft easy read and that loves a hopeless romantic can’t wait to read the next story and what’ll happen.
The next volume of the story in which the couple thinks about moving to a bigger apartment, and they go to visit Nasa's parents. #FlyMetotheMoonVol3 #NetGalley
