Disappointed - lots of spelling/grammar errors

After thoroughly enjoying the first series I’m a little shocked at the poor quality of this book. Within the first 1% of the book (e-book) I was astonished at the sheer number of spelling and grammatical errors, which continued throughout the book. A lot of paragraphs, thoughts etc were repeated throughout the book but added no substance. We know Jemma loves Trace and Dominic, but in almost every chapter she flip flops to the point of frustration. There was little character growth and the plot seemed to take a back seat to the love triangle at times. The whole storyline with Dominic and Priscilla confused me as it was dropped in and then not really explored. As I read it, I couldn’t help but have flashbacks to True Blood when Bill’s sire came to town and turned him against Sookie.
Overall its an okay read but not to the quality of the first series.

If you loved Vampire Diaries( tv series, i never read those books) and want a series with VD vibes read this series.
I think this is one of my favorite vampire/angel type books as I was never a huge fan of the whole vampire genre( only a handful i truely loved).Just because it has been overdone.

NOW, this book was sooo good. It was a page-turner which i loved and we had so many things going on- with Trace and then new things happened with Dominic. We get to see Gabriel again. And, Jemma has an important task. Then, the cliffhanger at the end with the Four Horsemen. I loved it.

The only thing that worries me about this series is that it might be a while before there is an ending to this series. In general i like an end to stories. Because the book is labeled as being a start to season 2. This reminds me of another series A Shade of Vampire series which I loved( again another surprise that i liked a vamp book) and read books 1-16. But, then quickly felt overwhelmed when i realized so far there is like 84 books in the series( its spinoffs on the kids of the main characters and then other characters and the author had a new season of books each time.)

Can't wait for the next book, but i hope we won't have to wait as long as before. Especially if she plans on making this a serial type of book series. but, i understand things can happen to delay the book in the authors life which is understandable:)

Disappointed with this novel. I felt no real growth in the plot and in character development. Things happen, but it just doesn’t feel like it adds the way it should. It feels more like a repeat of similar situations and conflict. Like the world is going to end if Jemma doesn’t fix it and she is the only one who can. But she’s still torn with her feelings toward Trace and Dominic.

Note-sex and language

Spoilers:
The story didn’t dig into the sire link between Dominic and Priscilla which would have been very interesting to learn about. And then Trace is in the picture now. And he begins to remember Jemma. Why wouldn’t he just bounce back in time to see what their history was? He can obviously bounce around if he can take them to the veil.

After slaying Lucifer/Trace and stopping evil in its path, Jemma and her sister Tessa decide to take the summer traveling and slaying Revenants together. Jemma and Dominic admitted their feelings to each other, and Dominic made sure to visit Jemma any time she liked during her travels in order to satisfy her heart and their blood bond.

Now Jemma wants nothing but to return to Hollow Hills, return to Dominic’s arms, and finish high school like a normal person. She wants her nightmares to stay in the past. But sleeping dogs refuse to stay asleep, or whatever the saying is, because Trace (yes, that one!) is alive and well and back to work at All Saints. Seems the Witch Nikki, ever intent on making Trace hers, brought him back from the dead, and now he has no memory of Jemma, but Trace’s subconscious is starting to remember Jemma in his dreams. What happens if he remembers she’s the reason he’s dead?

A bigger problem now though is that the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are in the earthly realm and wreaking havoc. I mean, how much worse can it get? Well, as far as Jemma’s personality goes, it can get plenty worse.

I love this series to death. However, I am super over Jemma. She is a whiny B in this book. She’s also drunk a lot of the time and using Dominic for sex. All she knows how to do anymore is kill stuff and bury her feelings. She has Dominic who LOVES her, would do anything for her, yet she’s all nasty and demanding and downright cruel. And the ending! I’m, like, dying here. My heart has been ripped from my chest and stomped on. I need the next book because I. Just. Can’t.

Unsure How I Feel

Trace made this book for me. I was ecstatic he is back in the story and played a vital role in the installment. I am over the whole Dominic thing and her love for the monster as well as the overplayed love triangle. I would really like to see Jemma have a solid group of friends outside of her two relationships. I would like to see her team up with people other than Dominic and Gabriel over an issue. I lived for the two adventures she went on with Trace as I love his abilities and his character in general. I would honestly love to see Jemma team up with Trace, Morgan, Caleb and Ben on a mission. Or even defend their school together. Overall the story felt repetitive, similar theme to the previous one, but I am very happy to be reading Trace in the storyline again. It was the sole reason it got 4 stars from me!

I’m speechless!

Omg omg omg! The cliffhanger in each book of this series just keeps getting better and worse at the same time! Gah! I am loving how this story is progressing and am becoming so invested in these characters! As much as I would have like to get more information regarding the events that took place during the summer, I kinda like just the little snippets to go off that let my imagination create the story for me. Jemma is really developing and coming into her own, while also dealing with heavy burdens and struggles. She just can’t catch a break and always has to make the most difficult decisions! I love being along for the ride while she battles the good and evil in her mind, her heart and all around her. What a cliffhanger! My patience level is being super tested with the wait for book 6 for sure! What an intriguing read that keeps your attention and leaving you wanting more from these characters! If you haven’t started this series yet, what are you waiting for!?

What can I say! This book was highly anticipated and it didn't disappoint. We get to see jemma and Dom grow closer and the aftermath of what Nikki did to trace. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Perfect start to a new season with the gang. This book literally had me sighing in sadness and laughing with happiness. The emotional roller-coaster was up and down from start to finish. Bianca definitely thought outside the box and I loved the dynamics of this new chapter in the series. The new bad guy appears and you're thrown back into warrior mode, right with jemma as she navigates this reality. And that ending had me praying book 6 doesn't take too long. I need more and I need to know what's going to happen now. Absolutely loved it! Amazing series that will drag you in and make you want to reread as soon as you finish!

Exciting read!

I waited for book 5 to be released and the story did not disappoint. I love a bad ass heroine with a love triangle. I could have given the book 5 stars but Bianca Scardoni should have hired a good proof reader. There is just a lot of emotions and mixed feelings in this book. I love Dominic’s character, his usual flair and banter with Jemma but I feel he is more subtle in the first few pages of the book until Pricilla showed up and I wonder if she compelled him to shut down his emotions or he was doing it on purpose to protect Jemma. And Trace was resurrected to life. Jemma’s first love. Couldn’t get any better when you have 2 hot men to choose from. I can’t wait for book 6. Please release it soon!

...the heart wants what it wants...

Firstly, thanks for bringing back Trace , Nikki (even tho it was for your own benefit). I was devastated at the end of book 4. And Priscilla better watch her back . I don't think Jemma will wait to even ask if she can give Dominic back his emotions.. it'll be kill first, ask questions later.
I love the thrill ride of this series. Talk about a page turner !
Even tho Dominic really grew on me, I'm still Team Trace all the way.
I mean, c'mon, they're soulmates! Sorry Dom, you knew that from the beginning. I almost hope he doesn't get his emotions returned because it's going to kill him when Jemma gets Trace back!! (At least she better!!!---hint hint Blanca!!) Can't wait for the next installment!!!💜😇😘💚💞

HOLY SHIT
****SPOILERS*********

Okay first of all - those 2 specific scenes with Dominic.. HOT HOT HOT HOT. Most scenes like that in books are corny and so annoying but Bianca wrote them in such a satisfying way.

Second, I cried when we learned Dominic turned off his emotions. That to me was more sad than Trace dying. Granted I’m pretty sure I’m team Dominic anyways.

Lastly, that plot twist and cliffhanger.

I really hope book 6 comes much sooner than 5 did!

She has done it again!

Great installment to the series and it's still not over yet! Loved the 5th book and the ending was a cliff hanger but really good! I rather enjoyed reading her entanglement with Dominic now. It will be interesting to see how it all ends! Only issue with this book is they must have been to eager to get it out bc there are many grammatical errors. But overall, cant wait for next book to come out!

Typos, poor grammar, and improper word choice do a lot to distract from the predictable plot and tired love triangle. In addition, the main character cannot seem to deduce anything for herself and treats everyone poorly. I would have preferred some of the more intriguing plot points, such as the Veil, the sire bond, or the looming threat to have been given more time and focus. Overall a frustrating read.

I’ve missed my Jemma and Trace fix!!

I was so enthralled in this book, I read it over night! I don’t want to give anything away, but I was on the edge of my seat for most of it. I love this series so much!! And I really hope I don’t have to wait too much longer for the next one, Bianca Scardoni really know how to keep my attention and makes sure I keep coming back. I am on the he edge of my seat waiting for the next book!!

I’ve always enjoyed this series. It has been interesting seeing the progression of the writing quality as the story progresses, as well as how the main protagonists’ personalities evolve in the face of different hardships and resolutions. I’ve never lost interest. As I’ve mentioned in past reviews of previous books in this series, Scardoni has an eloquent and dreamy way with words as she describes the feelings and actions of the characters. There were some parts of the story that I thought could have been a little more creative and drawn out (like the scene in the Vale with Trace and the twist with Dominic) but I still enjoyed the yummy eeriness of the world Scardoni created nonetheless. I’m awaiting the next chapter, as always. There are very few series I read all the way through, and this is one of them.

Best book yet!!!

This has been the best supernatural series I have read in a long time. It is definitely not predictable. Every time I think I know what's going to happen next, the plot completely twists. I would definitely recommend this series. I am completely addicted. Each book builds on the next to create this complex emotional and adventurous plot that never fails to surprise.

I spoiled myself all over again. And it was such a bad idea.
I hate spoilers and I keep doing this to myself and idk why. But it didn’t keep the book from being interesting. I loved this one as much as I loved the others. I hate the cliffhangers and I hate it that I have only one book left till the next comes out in September. All in all it was a great book and deserves 5✨

MAN, if it’s one thing this series is good at it’s not making me realize the book is OVER.😭😭 I just kept reading and reading and all of sudden, it’s over. Blasphemy. Anyway— uhm, I’m crying internally and I need to know what happens IMMEDIATELY.

Just finished! Wow!!

Fast paced, page turning, non stop actions and drama, this book had it all!!! She comes back from her summer spent slaying, only to find out her boyfriend she killed was raised from the dead. He doesn't remember her, and they have to keep it that way. Excpet he has been dreaming of her and knows they are soul mates. Dominic's sire Priscilla, shows up the same time Jemma finds out the four horsemen are coming. Priscilla makes Jemma believe they are coming for her, shortly before turning Dominic's humanity off. Which she finds out when he attacks her outside the bar. The order tells Jemma about a book written by angels that might give them the answers they need as to how to stop them... But Shocker (just kidding this is becoming regular), it could kill her. She does whats needed, retrieves the book, she's the only one who can read it. Figures out how to stop them, heads out with Trace to stop them, she manages to kill 2 before realizing they weren't there for her at all, and leaves on a big cliff hanger.

Jemma was kick ass yet again. I love how big she loves the ones who are closest to her. Her character has come a long way!

Dominic... I didn't see it coming. I'm hoping she can turn him humanity back on, but right now he is in the dog house.

Trace- Never underestimate the good guy. I'm glad he's back, and the new side to him is so funny to read. He is like and old friend who suddenly doesn't give a fuck about what anyone says anymore.

Priscilla is a bitch and we hate her. Nikki is stupid and selfish. Gabriel is still lovely and loyal, you can't hate him.

Read the book 😏

Dominic<3

Omg! I stopped everything I was doing and read as soon as I found out the book came out! I'm digging Trace a lot more in this story but my heart still is with Dominic! Jemma and Dominic scenes are super intense. I'm upset with Priscilla coming in and ruining things. I really need to know more of the meaning on what Dominic said in the hospital and also the Gabriel thing. I dont want to spoil too much! I've already preorder the 6th and already counting the days!!!

Good. MC got annoying

So. I really liked this series even with all the back and forth of the main love triangle. I really thought, foolishly, that it would be over in this book. With my fav guy character winning. Alas. It's all still there. Now with added angst on the FMC part. Annoying angst that coupled with her annoying holier than thou attitude and actions that completely disregard rules that she herself has set, make for a frustrating read. Ending was good though.

Why always cliffhangers

I loved this volume. I love how you changed how reliable Dominic is. It has absolutely crushed me and all I want to do is keep reading to prove he can be saved. I can't wait to read your book in December.

How to explain these books...

Doing a review of the series so far as apposed to each book individually because I read them all back to back over the span of four days!

I honestly haven’t loved reading a book more or been more invested EVER, why? Because for the first time ever a main female lead has had my first name yay so reading book boyfriends saying how much they are so incredibly in love with me hit harder then other stories...

However much I adored that I could not overlook just how annoying Jemma was, like honestly the girl had more tantrums then a toddler in its terrible twos honestly she grated on almost all my nerves a lot of the time....

The guys in this story more then make up for it though, both Dominic and trace are legit so swoon! I prefer Dominic as just my own personal Tastes he just seems like a much more complex character

Loved both relationships with the guys and struggling with having her have to choose it just doesn’t seem right, no one relationship stood as the more solid one so that would be my only heavy heavy negative...

Love the introduction of the four horsemen and am I crazy in seriously hoping this all just turns into a huge RH and she just has all the guys?! Nope just me, oh well....

Interested to see how this all plays out with Nikki being preggoz with lucifers babe but essentially traces as they slept together while he has possessed by the devil, gosh things just got way to interesting.......

Next book pleeeease!

I love this series! I literally read all five books in under a week and I’m already anxious about the fact that I have to wait until December to see what happens next in book six. I know many people get frustrated with Jemma’s character, especially in this book... but I can totally see why her character has evolved to this point. Can’t go through all that pain and not build up steely walls around your heart! I have to say... I’m team Trace all the way. Don’t get me wrong, I love Dominic’s character. He challenges her in ways Trace never could, but there are too many obstacles for that couple to last. They have no future together, and the fact that he can turn on her with the flip of a switch and have no control over it means she’ll never fully be able to trust him. In my opinion, I don’t see how both Trace and Dominic make it out of this series alive. I can’t see both of them riding off into the sunset, with only one of them winning Jemma’s heart! That would be depressing, but not as depressing as Trace not ending up with Jemma for me LOL! Plus, the business with the blood bond has to come to an end eventually, in my opinion the only way Dominic would truly deserve her is if he released her from it and let her make her own choice without that interference. In the end, I do think someone has to sacrifice something... the question is who and what? I’m sensing more than six books in this series, but that’s just me!

This is one of my favorite book series, but Incarnate gave me mixed emotions.

Things I didn't like
- Jemma. I used to love her but she can get kind of annoying in this book. She's being portrayed as this badass woman (which she is at some points) but all she ever seems to do is whine and complain. It wasn't so annoying that I had to stop reading, but I definitely rolled my eyes a few times. Also, she treats Dominic super unfairly and is way to fickle in this book in regards to the love triangle.
-Priscilla. Her background and history were never really explored so her storyline (especially with Dominic) was confusing and felt kind of random.
-This might just be me but this book was a lot slower than the other books in the series. I feel like this book's sole purpose is just to prepare you for the next book in the series since nothing really happened until the end.

With all that being said, I honestly still enjoyed the book, it just wasn't as good as the others. I do have high expectations for the next book considering how this book ended. I'm SUPER interested to see what comes next especially since SO MANY questions were left unanswered.
