After slaying Lucifer/Trace and stopping evil in its path, Jemma and her sister Tessa decide to take the summer traveling and slaying Revenants together. Jemma and Dominic admitted their feelings to each other, and Dominic made sure to visit Jemma any time she liked during her travels in order to satisfy her heart and their blood bond.
Now Jemma wants nothing but to return to Hollow Hills, return to Dominic’s arms, and finish high school like a normal person. She wants her nightmares to stay in the past. But sleeping dogs refuse to stay asleep, or whatever the saying is, because Trace (yes, that one!) is alive and well and back to work at All Saints. Seems the Witch Nikki, ever intent on making Trace hers, brought him back from the dead, and now he has no memory of Jemma, but Trace’s subconscious is starting to remember Jemma in his dreams. What happens if he remembers she’s the reason he’s dead?
A bigger problem now though is that the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are in the earthly realm and wreaking havoc. I mean, how much worse can it get? Well, as far as Jemma’s personality goes, it can get plenty worse.
I love this series to death. However, I am super over Jemma. She is a whiny B in this book. She’s also drunk a lot of the time and using Dominic for sex. All she knows how to do anymore is kill stuff and bury her feelings. She has Dominic who LOVES her, would do anything for her, yet she’s all nasty and demanding and downright cruel. And the ending! I’m, like, dying here. My heart has been ripped from my chest and stomped on. I need the next book because I. Just. Can’t.
