Fell for the Opp
CJ is a business and a street King who isn't afraid to go after what he wants. As the head of TCB he's known for being ruthless, and only about his money. The only person that really knows him is his bestfriend and right hand man Benny. If it's not about his money or his business then it's not a factor. He keeps his head low and his focus on only what's his. That is until he sees Dove Lincoln. Dove Lincoln is determined to make it out the hood, she's months away from graduation & ready for a change. Nothing and nobody is standing in her way. With her best friend Red by her side she's pushing herself to not end up like her mother, in jail because she let the hood have her loyalty instead of her family. She's loyal to herself first and only, her ex taught her to put herself before anyone else. That is until she let's her guard down with CJ. He fine, loyal, smart and the only thing he wants from her is her trust. When he ex comes back causing problems and declaring war and her friends showing exactly who's side they are on. These two have to prove that love is worth fighting for or somebody is going to catch a bullet.

Kinda Cute
This could use some cleaning up. But it’s nice to see what one of my favorite authors pen use to be like. Not as fun as she is now. She’s definitely tightened up on timelines and logistics. Overall though this was still really cute and apparently she’s always written about real ones who go to war about their woman. We love to see it.

I love CJ. He was sweet and ain’t play with nobody behind Dove and I loved that.
Tika was a lame 😒 and he was dead wrong for how he did the people. He acted like he ain’t really want Dove but then gone go out the way to hurt her.
Benny was funny and I think him and Dove sister could be cute together.

Great Read
Red was scandalous. I was hoping to see her get her ass whooped. She pretended to be Dove best friend but always putting her in uncomfortable situations. Dove was trying to move on from Tika. CJ was a better fit for her Tika jealousy and need to prove a point almost cost her, her life. CJ had Dove back from the beginning. He also learned it was Tika behind the drama in the streets.

CJ and Dove Story
I really enjoyed the book and I love that towards the end of the book she was getting people up out of here. CJ was applying so much energy to Dove throughout the book. I can’t stand Dove ex because he was sleeping with her friend and still didn’t want to let her go. I love the fact Dove completed her education nobody what happen to her. I will be reading more books by this author .

CJ was that man! There’s nothing more that needs to be said! He treated her like a Queen from the very beginning. I knew Red was a fraud from the gate. Because ain’t no way smh! GREAT BOOK!!!!
This was my first time reading a book by this author but definitely not my last. I really enjoyed this book. It was good from beginning to end. I love the way it ended, even though I hated to see it end..I loved CJ and Dove together...This is definitely a must read. Great job

Now I enjoyed this book. This was the second book I read the first one was Genesis, which is the last book , so that made me I have to go to the very beginning. I loved the cuteness, the goofiness, the morally Grey type of vibe that CJ was giving. The spice was very lovely. The only thing I didn’t like was this being the second author that has used my nickname as part of the story and made them the app I didn’t take offense because I know that’s not me, but to hear my name constantly, and it just felt like slugs being thrown my way, but again, have to tell myself don’t feel no type of way cause it’s only a story. I would love for my name to be the best friend of the main female character and I don’t want me up dead lol. Just saying . Great overall . Can’t wait for book 2

CJ and Dove’s story was simple but still had me locked in. I stayed side-eyeing everybody trying to figure out who the op was 👀 and that TCB background added a nice touch. But Tika?? Yeah… he took scorned to a whole different level.
Red… I clocked her fake energy early. She was moving funny from the start.
The story flowed real smooth. A little predictable, but it didn’t take away from it. And CJ? Baby Clever raised him RIGHT 👏🏽 When he was praying for Dove in that hospital, yeah… he scored all the points. BDE with intention? Love that.
Dove stood ten toes and still secured her Doctorate, and I loved that for her.
Overall, solid read. I just need Part 2 ASAP—especially to see how everything plays out and what happens to Red’s treacherous ass 👀🔥

Great Read
This was my first read by this author, but not my last. Enjoyed the storyline and these characters. Held my attention from beginning to end and I couldn't put it down.... a page-turner. It flowed really well at a steady pace. I so loved Cj and Dove together, they were meant for each other. Their relationship was strong and I love the way Cj treated and showed her his inner feelings. Tika, got exactly what he deserved. It's so many layers to this story, so I know it a spin-off or another installment. I'd love more of these characters and whatever happened to Red, fake, trifling behind. Great job Aubry J.

CJ was taking classes so he just talk to Dove instead of asking her for her number because we all know he's not shy. We saw how he snatched up Dove and made her come home with him. I'm with the sisters Red is jealous of her, she doesn't nothing going for herself no job or school just Tika's jump off. She's not qualified to be his side chick because why would she push them to be together? Tika is a coward, jealous and bitter. He shot up the block and hid, who does that? Dove got the last laugh, she graduated and got rid of her ex on the same day. Now all they got to do is find that heaux Red.

Great storyline easy to follow I was so glad it wasn't one of those books that would have you all over the place and it held my interest from start to finish . Really Good Stuff!
This was one really exciting story from beginning to the very end. The writer starts by giving us a taste of that old fashioned romance between Dove and CJ. The story flows like a lazy river it just eases you into the story and before you know it,you're hooked and don't want to let go. The dialogue is good and except for a few.typos you don't experience any down time,or moments where you think "why was that included". This was just an overall good read and experience, it was good to see relationships develop and love blossom.

Finished this book in a day! Quick read for me which I enjoyed. I liked the pace of the book, enjoyed the characters (some of them!) still shocked at some of the shit that happened I'm like ma'am! Ain't no body off limits?!! Small little typos and errors here and there but ain't nothing for me to read past, still overall a good read to me. Didn't know what to expect going into this book I just know I've heard great things about this Author so I was ready for whatever! Can't wait to read the next!

I absolutely LOVE CJ. He was the perfect mixture of a smart hood Nigga and he was a gentleman. Clever raised him right. The Lincoln sisters were bad as hell too. I was pissed off that we didn’t get to see what happened to Red ass and I am extremely curious about who the chic in the house is. I also love the fact that CJ was a cheater. And Benny, that my Dawg lol I like his personality and loyalty. Over all a good book.

Now CJ I absolutely loved him! That man was a mess but he played no games. Both him and Benny were some real ones! I hated to see things end. Wish I could read more about these characters. Maybe there will be a spin off!

I found this book from a readers group that I’m in (Reckless Love. No Chaser) I had never even heard of this author let alone read any the works created.
Absolutely in LOVE with the writing and storytelling!! Your attention will be grabbed, your mouth will drop, and you will even shake your head clutch your invisible pearls 🤣🤣 this was a bomb story and I cannot wait to dive into this author’s catalog!!!

It was alright. Started off very promising and up until the shooting then just kind of fell flat and dragged. It wasn't boring, it was just pretty predictable. There were a lot of errors (grammatical, spelling, and otherwise) in the 2nd half/towards the end. I wasn't going to read part 2 but there are some things left unexplained so I am, bc I have to know what was the deal with Red!

I found CJ & Dove thanks to the savage anthology and went on the hunt to learn more about any of the characters. This story chronicles how the two met and the opposition they would face. The series was a good one. The story moved quickly. The Lincoln family history is very intriguing. There were editing (developmental & copy)issues, but it was still a good series to read.

Saw a review about Hoop Session on TikTok and was going to read that but when I read that character from previous books where in that book, I decided to read about them first because I don’t like going back and catching up after the fact. So here I am reading her whole catalog in order and loving every single moment of it!!

Who wouldn't be flattered? As you continue to read, gems are dropped left and right. I didn’t put this book down until I got to the end. Red was a snake. I wanted her to get everything she deserved just like Tika. All that noise he was making, and he was crying with his snotty nose. He tried to destroy Dove, but he failed. He also tried CJ, and that also failed.

This is my first read from this author. The story was interesting and I like CJ and his crew. I thought Dove and CJ had an interesting love story. There were a lot of grammatical errors and I thought the story was rushed. I look forward to reading more of this author's work with improvements.
