This is how our love story ends: burned alive in the Tri-Chi frat house...
Thanksgiving is a total disaster. Anijah’s dumped me… again.
I want my perky little frosh back. The one night she calls, she doesn’t want to get back together. She has bigger problems…
A dead girl. A sociopath. And more danger than she can handle. Anijah might not want me back, but I’ll do anything for her. I’ll go to prison if I have to… But that frosh is mine.

I was very disappointed by this book, not Jamila’s best.
Where are Tuck and Anijah now? Tuck took Anijah home for Thanksgiving. Despite Tuck’s warnings about his racist family, Anijah insisted she had the ability to charm the racism right out of them (‘cause that has worked...NEVER). Guess what? Tuck’s family behaved exactly as he predicted they would. When this happens, Anijah gets mad, breaks up with Tuck, flys home, and with no proof insists Tuck is sleeping with Lila.
Once back on campus word spreads like wildfire, thanks to Lila, that Tuck’s family rejected Anijah and they are broken up. Anijah experiences a small legal issue and calls who? Well Tuck of course. They argue about whether or not they are dating, throw things at each other, and have sex-rinse repeat.
This book has drugs, attempted murder, assault, threats, fathers screaming at sons, sons screaming at fathers, boyfriends fighting with fathers, daughters fighting with fathers, lots of naivety, and arson.
Anijah is written like an immature child who throws temper tantrums and has little understanding of the benefits of communication or self preservation. If there is danger, she will ignore all signs and walk directly into it then blame Tuck for her stupidity! I understand that she is a freshman but she behaves like an eight year old instead of an eighteen year old. But after reading her interaction with her father (a level of interaction I have never seen between a black child and their parent) I see why she acts like a spoiled brat.
There are also a lot of editing issues: 1) There are lots of missing words 2) Sentences that don’t make sense 3) Chapters 11 and 12 are identical (but titled differently)
Not sure if I am glutton for punishment or I hate not completing what I started, but I will read the next book. Oh who am I kidding, I’m nosy!
The back and forth got tedious. I don't even know why the FMC broke up with him after the racist dad incident at Thanksgiving. He warned her his family was trash and she thought she could make them like her by being nice. 🤨
The drama was so over the top. This is a soap opera. Also, wtf happened to the frat brothers that tried to kill them? That incident was just randomly dropped in there and never discussed again.
This series has always been over the top and ridiculous, but it was fun. I’m not sure what this was about. There was way too much telling instead of showing. The parts that would have been extremely interesting were just rushed through. Also, the dialogue just did not make sense. Whatever this was needs to not happen again. I’d rather for the author to take their time than rush and put out something of this caliber.
Ok so this one was a whirlwind. Very very good. The best in the series for sure. Things are always up and down with Tuck and Anijah, but he’s sure about her and his love for her is unwavering. Some very unsisterly events unfold and they need each other to get through it. I really enjoyed the writing, the characters, and the storyline. There were many bombshells dropped towards the end, and I wish there had been more time to unpack just how deep the rabbit hole went. I love all the books in the series but this one holds a special place in my heart. If there ever was a sequel, I’m there, no questions asked. Well done!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book series so much that I practically read the first 3 books in like 5+ hours and called into work late the next morning, so I could finish the last book. Great drama, plot developments, character developments, and excellent chemistry between Anjahia and Tuck! My only drawback is these 4 novellas could have and should be combined into one book. I thought Jamila did a wonderful job of writing and looking forward to reading more of her work.
Anilya is a freshman pledger and she has caught the eyes of Tuck Murphy-playboy on campus, president of his frat house and a senior. There are sisters in the sorority that wish to make a fool of Anilya due to her color, but Tuck isn’t seeing any of that cause he’s fallen in love with her! The murder of the Omega Omega sorority’s president, Lila, has put ALL frats and sorors on the cops and FBI’s radar!
Wish she would explain the jumbled plots and finish her stories
This author has so much potential.... But, with every book, she never really finishes the story or a good train of thought. Shell throw out something from the left and doesn't explain how it fits in or make it mesh. I've bought 5 of her books with so much potential, hoping she'll finally give a finished product which I know she's capable of producing.
So glad that Tuck and Anjiah were able to get out of the Frat house but I’m still left wondering what happened to the brothers that set them up? And I’m also wondering if Emily?
