Wonderful!

Mr. Inmon you have done it again, created a book so interesting and hard to put down. Some of the battles were hard to imagine but I did my best. And you did give us that Fog adventure, which no one seems to remember what happened...??? I would love to try to imagine but I know that you will come up with something totally different. So we will all have to wait and see. Please hurry though because I'm not sure I can stand the suspense. PS maybe you should have a contest and see who comes closest to your imaginings.

Wonderful book

This book helps to tie up many loose ends and introduces the group to other people in the world. There is a major battle on the other side of the world and many things change for everyone.

Doesn’t disappoint

If you liked the first four books, you’ll like this. Pretty much the same, same characters and plot. Good luck

The last book in the Alex Hawk series!!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we will see more adventures in Kragdon-ah. I love the excitement and twists of spending my time alongside Manta-ak, following him on all his missions. Every book has felt like I've gone home to visit family and friends, this one has really given the words family and friends much more meaning.

Best of the Series

I feel in love with this series. I was born and raised in Oregon and hope to live there again soon. The time travel and battles Alex faces with his daughters are so well written. The story of Alex becoming a natural leader who this time needs desperately is an amazing journey for the reader. I am delighted to know the fog story will be told. This has been my favorite series in the last year and not my normal genre. Shawn Inmon draws the reader in with a fascinating story and characters you wish were in your lives. Thank you for sharing this amazing journey. Loved it and look forward to more from this talented author.

Alex Hawk's adventures in Drakana. The continuing story of Manta-ak.

Once more Alex Hawk, known as the mighty Manta-ak in his adopted world of Kragdon-Ah, along with daughters Sanda and Amy are asked too return the people captured and enslaved by the Drakana. The Drakana loaded all the captives onto huge sailing ships to take them to their land as slaves. The Drakana had left one ship behind for the forces they'd left behind in case they needed it. Manta-ak overwhelmed the skeleton force of soldiers and sailors and took the ship, gathering hundreds of volunteers to sail to Drakana and free their people and return them home. First they had to learn to sail the huge vessel with the help of the Drakana sailors they'd captured. Then they had to find the land where the Drakana lived. Then they had to figure out how to defeat the thousands of Drakana and their leader, a living god named Makinta!

Many adventures led them far across the waters, including losing a couple years in a mysterious fog bank (but that's another story). When they finally made their way to the first island of the Drakana nation, many surprises resulted from first meeting with the people and soldiers of Drakana. But Alex has a plan!

The characters of Winten-Ah and other Kragdon-Ah villages are awesome fighters and became awesome sailors over time. Their resilience is the basis for their successes. Their love for one another was the basis for their continuing journey through the trials they faced. Amazing characters and a continually twisting storyline is the product of a master storyteller! I can't wait to dig into the next adventure of Alex Hawk! This is a great read!

Another great chapter in the Alex Hawk time travel series, I would really classify this as more fantasy than science fiction although it has the time travel component. It really felt like an ending, if you have not read any of the series, go start with book 1, its a linear story and while each one is a self contained adventure, you would be lost if you start on book 5.

It took me a while to get half way through book 1 in the series, once I did though I have consumed them pretty rapidly. I went into this year with the plan to never read two books by a author in a row and ideally no more than two books by a single author over the year as I had planned on finding as many new authors as possible. Well Shawn Inmon killed that plan! I think this is the seventh book of his this year. If that does not give you an idea of how much I enjoyed these books I dont know what else to tell you.

The whole decision of whether to go back to present day Oregon, now that it was a possibility again was a tougher decision than I expected it would be at the beginning of this book. At first, I thought, of course you should. You can literally just walk right between your two homes through a door in your basement. Best of both worlds. Then, when the visitor showed up to say he was closing the door forever... decision time. I knew at that point Alex and the girls would likely stay. When they went through to grab their final modern possessions... I didn't feel so conflicted about it, either. That was a good way to also bring the reader into alignment with Alex's decision to stay in Kragdon-ah. Still a bummer they couldn't buy some useful stuff (like seeds) to bring back, but them's the breaks.

Words Fail Me

A most excellent series. Modern man and his caught ink billions of years into the future. And then stuff happens. Lots of stuff happens.
Did I forget to mention that stuff happens?
No? Well good because I can't even remember all the stuff that happened.
But thread quite possibly the first series I have read seamlessly back to back. Maybe Phillips Gregory's stunning collection of work, otherwise this has that spot.
I only need to offer one small (HUGE 2 me however) bit of correction.
The famous phrase , "Join the army and see the world" absolutely wrong!!

The correct wording is "Join the NAVY" and see the world.
Army was " Be all that you can be, in the ARMY!"
"Hoo Ah"

I started this on Audible from their Plus catalog. I had a tough time warming up to the MC because of several choices he made. I felt like no matter how much he brow-beat himself for it the truth was that he DID abandon his daughter even were it not intentionally. His abandonment was the direct result of choices he made to satisfy his curiosity over his commitments. It made it very hard for me to warm up to him. I did, eventually, and in time he even redeemed himself in regard to said abandonment of daughter. But I was a very hard sell.

That said in terms of portal fantasy this entire series is totally bomb. I loved it and wish there were more of it.

Bulk input day.

Shawn Inmon is truly a great author. I first discovered his work in October of 2022, and now I’ve traveled with him through over 20 books and counting. This, like all his work makes it easy to get lost in another world. The characters come alive in a way that not only do you get to know them, they are almost like friends you’ve never met. You are there with Alex in his highest of highs and his lowest of lows.
After reading the first 15 of the Middle Falls books, I was not interested in yet another series from Shawn, but with the quality of his writing made it irresistible. Take a trip to Kragdon-ah. You’ll be glad you did.

Book five

Mistakes: While I didn't find any mistakes in this book, it didn't grab me the way the others had.

Plot: Had real problems with the fog bank staying unexplained and the invasion of such a massive empire by one ship of warriors just didn't seem possible.

Characters: I wasn't as drawn into the journey of the characters this time.

Spell binding. I found this series enthralling, it captivated me from the first chatting book one and book five didn't disappoint.

From start to finish this book was effortlessly enthralling. From charter one of book one to the final chapter in book five it never disappointed.

So Fulfilling!

Alex and his daughters live out a mythic life in This latest installment of the Saga of Kragdon-ah. Some fascinating new characters appear, a few favorites make their exits, and Sanda-eh finds true love. Oh, and there are plenty of odd and exciting elements to this volume as in all the others.
A+++ Bravo, again!

A fantastic adventure with great characters

This was a fun, immersive adventure series with great characters. I loved how the author zoomed in and out to skip over boring parts and zoom in to the exciting bits. Each story was a complete book on its own, but I always wanted to know what was next!

A satisfying conclusion to the series (for now)

Alex Hawk returns with his pragmatic, relentless drive. The author has created such a vibrant world that I’d make the same choice at the end.

Loved this series!!!

This was a greats series to read, sad to see it end and hoping that “ideas” will come to the author’s mind and more books will follow. If so, I’ll be the first to read more adventures of Alex Hawk and Monda-ak and the rest of the gang in Kragdon-ah

A great story, couldn't put down my kindle.

So often, it seems like writers lose their way when completing a series. Thank you Shawn for a truly enjoyable read and giving your fans a terrific ending to Alex Hawk's adventure.

Perfect ending, but still a thread dangling...

I loved it. But of course, Shawn Inmon has left us with a small mystery....in the mist. Kind of gives me hope there will be another Alex Hawk adventure.

I really enjoy these books!

I enjoyed this, as I have the entire series. The characters seem real to me and I really get wrapped up in the story. What more could anyone ask for from an author?

Just when you think Alex and the gang have done it all, a new wrinkle is tossed into the mix. This story is quite different, yet because you already know most of the characters, it feels the same. Quite well done, although there are questions that remain unanswered.....
