No one has ever heard of a female alpha… until me.
Now I’m on a journey to see some Oracle I didn't know existed, accompanied by the four most eligible males in the clan—go figure, they’re the other clan alphas.
The trip gives me an opportunity to learn more about the strangers who wish to claim me as their mate: brooding Rowan, serene Taika, jovial Stig, and flirtatious Mateo all appeal to me, and my wolf, in different ways.
And right now they’re all seriously pissing me off.
As they each try and fail to dominate me, the only person who remains on my side is my best friend and former lover, Emory. But as the trip wears on, I begin to suspect even Emory’s keeping secrets.
Plus, lest I forget, there are still the blood-drinking monsters that dog our steps and leave a few nasty surprises along our journey. I can only hope that the Oracle has a solution that works for all of us.
Otherwise, all five clan alphas are as good as wraith-meat.
Pack Claimed is the second book in The Alpha Queen Legacy, featuring a badass heroine, a dark fantasy world, and loads of sexy wolf shifters. Be warned: This is a slow burn, reverse harem romance. Once you pick this story up, you won’t be able to stop devouring it until the very last page.
Hi! I'm Laurel, I love all things fantasy, magic, and sci-fi, so you may find that my books have surprising twists that you didn't see coming.
I'm an avid traveller and adventurer, and I find my travels inspire stories I want to write! I have an amazing daughter and we currently live in the shadows of the Smoky Mountains. I love a good craft cocktail, sunny beaches and snowy slopes, and a cozy chair with a nearby fireplace for the perfect read.
In the last 25% this book took a turn into being very, very toxic.
Look, from the minute she started beating them in challenges, I could see that they were going to all challenge together. That was fine, and it makes sense in lots of ways, not least of which being the union of the 5 packs into a single whole.
But I didn't expect it to go down like that, especially after she was so angry at the individual challenges and fucking blasted them for acting like she doesn't get a say in her life. I figured they'd talk about it and agree to try. Not that they'd gang up and assault her together. It felt like that was literally the lesson of the first half of the book - treat her like a partner, to her, plan together, be a team. And when we got chapters from the guys' povs and they were all lamenting that this feels wrong and cruel, I was like okay. They learned better, the first half of the book was setting that up. They are going to discard what everyone else says should happen, and do what feels right - work together.
But no. The five of them surround and assault her.
And why? Because some batshit old bitch in a cave told you so? The elders can eat a bag of dicks. They hoard all the information and expect blind obedience as they manipulate everyone. And the characters had several conversations through this book about how they were done letting the elders dictate shit to them.
But then they decide to just jump on in and assault Kali because the elder said they should?
What. The. Fuck.
And Emory, above all, I loathe. He has lied to and manipulated her from moment one. He, in his POV goes on and on about how he's doing it for her, but he fucking isn't. He's doing it for himself because he is a cowardly, selfish bag of shit.
For him to join in on the forced mating is so appalling to me that I want her to rip his fucking throat out. How fucking dare he mate her under that cloud of lies, betrayal and manipulation? How dare he?!
And it isn't fixable. Because that isn't love. It isn't even care. They don't see her as a person. They don't believe she has any right to make decisions, or even be part of the conversation, about her own life. None of them do, but it is worst with Emory who was supposed to be her only friend.
Frankly, she may as well have mated Mikal the abusive alpha. He had as little care for her, but at least he never pretended otherwise, and there is only one of him.
And within, like, a single fucking day she's already warming up to them. That's not the Kali I have loved in this series. She became a new and fucking pathetic person. She was betrayed and treated like a fucking pawn, and she's allowing them to just roll back into her life. She's just shrugging and accepting it. Kali, who told this sexist world to fuck right off in the last book, because she is who she is. That Kali, in her POV the day after this assault, is telling herself oh well, I guess I just have get over it and accept that these are my mates.
Fuck. That.
It's also upsetting because it feels like her wolf betrayed her too. I have never read a shifter book where the wolf wasn't protective of their person. But they destroyed her, and the bitch wolf wants to cuddle.
I hate every part of this. Literally every fucking part. The last 25% took this from a 5 star series for me into one I am probably abandoning.

Pack Claimed, Book 2 in the Warrior Queen Legacy, has made me love ALL the characters even more, but especially Kaliya. I'm all for a strong lead female, especially if she's a badass warrior. However, I've read other books that take that personality trait and make it the whole of the character. Kaliya is wonderfully complex and very believable. She's strong, but also has a bit of imposter syndrome now that she's the Central Pack Alpha, which she definitely would. And she's also questioning her relationships with the other characters as the grow and shift, wondering what they're becoming. As a result, she does something about 40% of the way through this book that is perfect and happens juuuust when you think she might be becoming a bit too reserved and almost "damsel-y" (so not what I wanted for this character) and it came at the perfect time and she does it in a very HER way. It's just great. It's perfectly in character for her, and the reactions from the other characters work very well too.
The relationships between Kaliya and all of the guys grow and shift very much in this book and it's very entertaining to read. It was also fun to read about the characters experiencing new parts of their world as they travel across new terrains and climates.
I very much appreciated Kaliya's recognition that emotions one feels towards a romantic partner can be conflicting AND co-exist.
We get to see a LOT more of Emory and his relationships with the other guys as they spend more time together on their cross-county trip. It was very heart-warming to see others learn and appreciate his strengths as they present themselves.
This book very comfortably sets up a few more books in the series, not "adding" them per se, but you get an idea of the pacing and timeline moving forward now that we know more about the world. It doesn't feel forced. Overall, the pacing in this book and the overall growth of characters and world works wonderfully and I think it is even better than book 1 (which was a good book to start out with).
I would definitely recommend this book to my friends to read.
I'm really liking this series. While its slow burn you still get some heat. Em is my favorite. Tho Stig and Ty are up there too. Heck I love all the men. The FMC is such a great character. Great character development. Looking forward to the book
I waited and waited for Pack Claimed, and it didn't disappoint. I absolutely love the way this quest allows the reader to see the individual personalities of the four Alpha males and Emory, while still showing Kaliya's growth and development as a leader and person. This is a slow burn reverse harem book, and it fits the bill perfectly.
The trip serves to highlight the various territories in the world and explain some of the ways the settings affect the different personalities. In fact,, the settings they go through act almost as other characters in the book! For example, living amongst the trees keeps Kaliya in a constant state of anxiousness about the wraiths below. But Taika and his Western pack live on an island where the wraiths have no access. His laid back, peaceful personality reflects this.
I was so excited to see the mate challenges and how each one mirrored the personalities and relationship with Kali as well. Everything in the workd-building is consistent. I love this about this series.
Now, with the answer from the Oracle and the bonds forming from the mate challenges, Kaliya and her men have yet another quest to look forward to. And now the strained relationships have to be fixed as well. I cannot wait to see what happens in the third book.
“Pack Claimed” is the second instalment in “The Alpha Queen Legacy” a slow-burn paranormal why choose romance series by Laurel Night.
Looking for an answer to her predicament, Kaliya goes to find the Oracle. Of course, she is accompanied by the clan alphas, every one of them intended on becoming her mate…. choices, choices 😉 in Kaliya’s eyes all bad, those males stuck in the last century and intended in dominate her at all cost. It’s an arduous trip, with the danger of blood-drinkers in the way, and the neverending bickering of the alphas contending for Kaliya’s favor.
The story is fast-paced, action-packed 😊, with very enjoyable twists, both the expected and the fully unexpected. All five ‘contendants’ have very characteristic personalities, from peaceful Taika to moping Rowan, from cheery and good-natured Stig, loyal Emory, to ‘king-of-the-flirt’ Mateo, there is enough for Kaliya to choose from… but why to… this is after all a ‘why choose’ romance😉
“The Alpha Queen Legacy” is an interesting series, which playfully delves into male/female relationships and prejudices seen through a paranormal wolf-shifter lens. Kaliya is a strong female, sassy and witty to the point of disregarding self-preservation, diplomacy is surely not her strongest trait, much to the readers’ overall enjoyment. Laurel Night masters slow-burn like a Michelin three stars chef: prepare, carefully bring to simmer, let it cook slowly and never, never let it overspill… a proven recipe for a tasty and healthy cooked meal.
Laurel Night manages to give a brand-new overall look and feeling to this series, while still being true to her unique writing style, which those familiar with her “Mortal Heat” and “Key Collector” series already love. A wonderful start into the inner workings of the pack.

Secrets, Quests, and Mates?
This book has all that and more.
Pack claimed picks up where the last book left off. Kaliya has taken off on her quest with her “five alphas” in tow. Throughout the book we get lots of more insight into what makes the men who they are, whether that be their packs cultures or their emotions. The bond between Emory and Kaliya is tested by the secrets he is keeping, and Kaliya questions her own feelings as she gets closer to the other alphas. Kaliya really comes into her own in this book, coming to terms with her wolf and getting the confidence to not keep her so tightly controlled.
The author puts incredible detail into the setting, characters, and emotions of the characters in every chapter. There is shifting POVs, so you get to really connect with each character and understand their motivations behind their actions.
All in all, this book will keep you flipping through page to find out what comes next. Like with any good book in a ongoing series, we get plenty of our questions answered, just to be replaced with more questions for the next book.
Now the waiting begins for the next book in this series, and I can’t wait to read it!
Pack Claimed is the second book in the Alpha Queen Legacy series
We start book two accompanying Kali and the guys on their journey to meet The Oracle far from the Packs gathering at the Fortress.
I loved this book for many reasons one of them being the ways the relationships are developed. Each guy follows their own path to get closer to Kali and every single scene is true to the characters we met in book 1.
This book might be a slow burn but as the relationships get deeper and the characters grow as a team those embers get hotter and hotter… watch out not to get burned by the anticipation.
Faithful to her style Laurel gives us great fight scene that will have you reading on the edge of your seat. One thing I adored is how each character has their actual style of fighting and even differences in their weapons.
The Alpha Queen Legacy world keeps developing and the more we learn the more I have questions… just like Kali.
I highly suggest you take the time to read this series and fall in love with Kali, Emory, Stig, Rowan, Mateo and Taika.
Book 2 A Pack Claimed dives straight back into the action. And the world building laurel magically brings to life in my mind just about blows it to smithereens. Im seriously in awe of this world she has created, I feel like I'm there when reading. And I love that Kayli is alpha queen of bad assery and kicking ass and not another damsel in distress with no personality or emotional depth. Kali is evolving beautifully in line with the story. And what a story it is so far. I'm love love loving it.. Kali is not alone in her character development, The men have cleaved out there own slice of a packed claim and I'm beyond enjoying the interaction between our characters and love knowing more about them. I cant wait to dig into the next instalment in book 3.
Can we just take a moment to gush about the character and world development that is happening here? I am exceedingly impressed with the story building and wouldn't change a thing!
In book one, we only saw glimpses of the guys, their personalities, and backstories. This book brought them to life with everything we find out about them intermingled with Kaliya and her amazing self. I can't wait to see what book three introduces.
There's mystery, battles, longing and every character that is introduced is truly unique and easily recognized. I don't know how Laurel does it but wow is she a Rockstar writer.
Overall, this is an intriguing and special read. Where else can you find an rh shifter dystopian world with all sorts of fantasy thrown in?
What a beautiful, thrilling, and adventurous second installment to the story. It kept me engaged in Kaliya's and the guy's journey the whole time. Once I picked it up I could not put it down again. We get to follow along on their adventure to find answers while getting the moments between each alpha; that leaves you wanting more. I couldn't get enough of the relationships evolving, beginning to grow, and form along this journey. The action left me at the edge of my seat, wondering what was going to happen and hoping everyone would be all right. I can't wait to continue reading what's in store for the rest of Kaliya and the men.
Ooof. This book was a beautiful tragedy and I'm both in love and despair. Where Wolf Shunned excited and energized me, meeting the stoic and fierce fmc (Kali) and watching her stand her ground and command respect, despite her feelings of inadequacy, Pack Claimed took me on a rollercoaster of emotions. Without spoilers I will say, the last 25% or so was downright heartbreaking. The writing was on point. You are going to FEEL Kali's anger and hurt and I both loved and hated every minute of it. As expected, I'm now craving book three something fierce. I am so looking forward to seeing Kali hold a line and letting these men work their way into her heart. Like Kali, I'm not going to easily get over the approach that was taken. I feel they could have accomplished what they were told to accomplish with less dire consequences if they had taken into account the human side just a little. I'm hopeful there will be some growth from all of them in merging their human and wolf needs. Book three can't come soon enough!
A great sequel! The male main characters we got glimpses of in the previous book are spun to life on the journey to the Oracle. Not only do we see the development in each character from Kali’s POV, but we get to deep dive into each guy’s mind with multi-POVs. As the story goes one new layers of intrigue and mystery are added along with ancient history. The world building is fantastic as we travel with the group and get to see bits of new territories. There’s a fair share of action with attacks and challenges to perfectly complement the slow burn aspect of the book as relationships are being forged with the heat level staying slow and steady. Each book has given us a slice, just a peek, of what is brewing while the pack is traversing through the territories to piece to together a long buried puzzle.
Pack Claimed was so good!! Kaliya and crew are on a quest to get to The Oracle to find out how to defeat the wraiths, along with hopefully finding out who Kali's mate is. It's like Lord of the Rings but sexy wolf shifters and blood hungry monsters lol. I loved the excitement of some of the members getting to see new places and climates they aren't used to, and as a reader recognizing the areas they are going through even though for our characters the areas are no longer what they used to be. There are mate challenges that don't go how they normally should. Secrets are revealed by the Oracle, Kaliya faces betrayal that she didn't see coming and the team faces scary battles. Loved this slow burn novel and can't wait to see what happens next!!!
Holy cow! Character development A+! I loved getting each guys prospective and feelings throughout the book. Oh Emory. 😬 But we travel along with them to The Oracle. I could not imagine having to worry about deadly creatures every night. Stig- I love the big ol softy! Rowan-I'm getting why he is the way he is. Mateo-the laid back joker. Taika-the ring leader of the guys lol I swear. Emory-the brain. Kaliya is forced out of her comfort zone and exposed to the difference in the region and features she would never see in her pack area. It was nice to read her moment in the ocean. But I'm excited for book 3! The quest begins...
What a wonderful follow up. I’ve been eagerly waiting on this next instalment of Kali and her mates. It’s the first time in a while that I don’t have a clear favourite within the men - they each have such depth of character that basically I just want them all!
The world building is absolutely incredible, I appreciate the slow burn in this book as it allows so much more detail to go into the storyline - it’s absolutely worth it.
I’m so intrigued to see what comes of the group and how they handle all of the trouble yet to come.
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Clearly, one of the best recipes for a truly rich and flavourful RH shifter feast must follow the tried and true cooking technique: Bring To Boil, Reduce to Simmer. Perhaps Ms. Night has taken cooking instruction from Chef Anne Burrell.
Laurel Night has given Kaliya her second course, a savory quest adventure with the 5 males her wolf wants. But just as a watched pot never boils, so too will too many cooks spoil the broth. Can Kaliya thicken the bond between them and wear the crown or will their entire Shifter civilization be scorched to ruin when piles of flaming wraiths burn too hot?
To say I have been waiting patiently for this book is an understatement. More like impatiently. But wow the wait was worth it. Omg it’s so good. This is book 2 of The Warrior Queen legacy and wow. Starts right back where book 1 leaves off. This is a slower burn so be prepared but storyline definitely makes up for it. Absolutely love all these characters. Especially the guys. Wink wink hint hint. Definitely stayed up all night just to finish. Highly recommend. I don’t give away any spoilers so just read it!!! So so amazing!!!
I didn’t read the first book as I though it was just another RH with lots of sex and I am so over those, but maybe I should have read it as I really enjoyed this book. There was a lot of depth to the characters, I was definitely angry at the way Kaliya was ‘ganged up on ‘ by the alpha males. Although I like Emory very much, he has made some very bad decisions, I look forward to seeing how these difficulties are overcome in the next book during their next quest.
Book 2 of this series absolutely delivered and then some! Laurel Night you’ve done it again! The character development continued so perfectly in to book 2. I’m still team Stig 10000%. Many times with RH books I get lost and can’t remember which character is which, but not in this series. Each male character is well defined and well developed. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next part of their quest!
I am obsessed with this series! Book two follows Kaliya and the guys to see The Oracle. We got to know the Alpha’s a little better during the trip, especially about where Taika lives. I am still upset over what the guys all pulled on Kali. I hope she royally punishes them and does not just get over it. I am so invested that my chest has physically ached. I love it! If you enjoy a good wolf RH, then you will absolutely love this series.
I just could not get into this series. The first book was intriguing enough for me to pick up this book but I was just bored reading it. Some things did happen this time but they just weren’t very exciting to me. Also I hate when the MMC(s) keep things from the FMC in order to “protect them” and in doing so, takes away their choices. I can see why people like this book but it’s just not for me.
*Disclaimer* just in case you've stumbled across this book instead of the first- this is slow burn. Focusing mostly on the relationship building and the actual story than sexy times. If that isn't your jam then maybe not the series for you; However if you love kick ass FMCs and RH with heavy doses of action then strap in my friend.
Anyhoo.... so Pack Claimed picks up right after Wolf Shunned so you're dropped in right at the beginning of their journey to the western pack elder the Oracle. Kali and gang are all in turmoil over their impending birthdays and add a few unexpected wolf outs and wraith attacks there's definitely a lot of tension going on. Emory is struggling with keeping his secret lack of mate from Kali and the alpha males struggle to keep their beasts in check while trying to navigate through building a relationship with Kali.
This book really strains Kali's perspective on not only pack traditions and rules but on her relationships with all the males in her harem and even her understanding of the wraiths is continually changing.
I can't wait for book three!!!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This is the second book in this series and wow yet again its full of action, and sooo many twists that pull you straight in. We get to see the journey they have to go on to see the Oracle to find out how to stop the wraiths. We get to see mate challenges and wraiths along the way to create such an amazing storyline i could not put down. With that ending too I totally need the next book ASAP. I can't wait to see what happens with them all and if they work out what everything means.
Holy moly! This book is fantastic. The world building and character development has me so invested in this series. I loved getting to know each of the guys more and am beyond excited to read the next one!
This sequel was everything I’d been asking more. The action is on point and entertaining. I could not put this book down. I’m so exciting to see what else happens with everyone. I’m chomping at the bit to read the next books!
This book is still burning slowly. But it is so worth it. There is so much tension between all the alphas, Emory, and Kali. I’m excited to see where the next book goes.
After reading the first book of this series I was immediately in love with the storyline and characters. Waiting for this second book was practically torture but soooo worth it! Like with the first book, the heat level is low, so don't expect any schmexy times quite yet. However, there are moments of connection where Kali and the guys seem to really understand one another and a bit more sexual tension than we previously saw.
What is great about this series is that you really get to know the characters and get to enjoy their development as the story continues. Kali, although strong in her own right, still has moments of vulnerability living most of her life with her walls built high. Seeing her let the other alphas in was something momentous, but I know that this step is going to be the hardest for her, especially after what goes on in this book.
I feel like a few things could have been avoided during their journey if the guys didn't decide to keep things from Kali and had been up front and honest with her the entire time. But a bit of heartache won't keep these wolves down. Overall, this group works together amazingly even if they hit a few snags and aren't always happy with one another. Through these hardships and incredible fighting scenes, it is easy to see the different sides to each character and what each one brings to the group, how they make each other stronger and better.
I'm so excited to see what becomes of this group in the next book as they continue on their journey to get answers and to try and save their people from the wraiths.
Oh hell yeah, what a book. I totally love this series so far, can't wait for the next book.. nothing is ever as easy as it seems...specially with hearts and wolves are involved. Definately read the first book before delving into this one. Hard to put down but an awesome read. Love it
Loved this book. I'm enjoying the story so much it's like I'm on the journey with Kali. I'm very much looking forward to seeing Kali on her path to being crowned but more so looking forward to seeing her be able to slowly rebuild herself along the way.
This series just keeps getting better and better. I loved getting to know all the characters a bit more in this book and how they all worked together. Can’t wait to see what the next book holds.
