Zach’s spent three years trying to ignore how he felt about his roommate. Now, the new guy in the suite is going to make him face his fears…
Hiding his sexuality has alienated Zach from most of his roommates. They don’t understand what it’s like trying to live up to his father’s image of what a good son should be. When a new suitemate moves in, denying the truth becomes impossible.

Colin isn’t happy that his parents insisted he move into his older brother’s suite if he wanted to go away to college… until he meets Zach and Daniel. Being the baby of the crew doesn’t mean he’s going to be pushed around. He knows what he wants, and now that he’s starting college, it’s time to find a man who will submit to him.

Or maybe two men…

Daniel can’t go through another year like the last one. He’s not proud of the things he’s done to get close to Zach or the lies he’s told. When the new guy suggests Zach feels the same way and offers to help them get together, it seems too good to be true.

They can’t keep things a secret forever. Once they come out to their friends, they’ll have to face the biggest hurdle of all: Zach’s father. Will he finally stand up to his old man or will he leave them behind?

Better Together is the third book in The Boys of Talbert Hall, the newest series set in the kinky town of Annandale. Between one partner going through a sexual awakening and the other convinced he should be the one in control, Colin’s got his work cut out for him.

DNF at 12%

As if a simple yes wouldn't have been enough, he sent me a short video clip. Nothing pornographic, other than the exaggerated moaning from the girl riding him reverse cowgirl. She threw her head back and I saw Zach’s hand gripping her waist.

One of my major pet peeves. Having one of the MCs seeing the other MC having sex with someone else. No thank you.

Zach is also gay, but trying to hide it from his 5 roommates, who are in fact ALL gay.

I loved finally seeing Zach’s transformation from an unhappy, bitter guy into someone who accepts who he is and what he wants. Daniel was sweet, and Colin was the glue that held them together. The story was fun, steamy (but not as steamy as I thought it would be for MMM), and enjoyable.

That being said, I did have some issues with this one. I felt like a few scenes were weirdly cut off. Like their first time together they were about to turn to take care of the third partner, and we head into a new point of view, and it’s weeks later. Ummm, ok - but what about the third guy? That was their first time together and it’s incomplete. The ending also felt rushed and unfinished - definitely like an HFN and not an HEA. They love each other but they haven’t sorted things out. And the ending with Zach’s dad felt unrealistic to me.

Finally, there were some definite editing issues. Words missing, wrong words used, and lots of quotation errors, making it hard to keep track of dialogue. I usually don’t comment on editing issues, but there were enough here that I was continuously pulled out of the story, and I’ve never noticed that with this author’s work before.

Bottom line - it was a fun and somewhat steamy story, but it felt more like an unfinished draft than a final released copy.

2.5 stars. It was okay.

There were a lot of gramatical errors that made some sections of the book funny but after the 10th mistake it gets annoying.

One of the biggest issues I had with this was the unnecessarily long sex scenes. Don't get me wrong I love a steamy read, but when one sex scene spans three chapters I lose interest and that happened a lot in this book.

I also cannot get behind a book that follows a bully/harasser. When authors do this is feels like they're trying g to excuse the behavior of homophobes and hateful people. Because of the way the author wrote Zach's character in previous books I really struggled to connect with his character (the same can be said about Zachs dad).

It wasn't the worst book I ever read but I definitely won't spend money on it or recommend it to anyone else to read.

I love this series and was really interested to find out what Daniel and Zach's story would be, particularly given Zach behaviour in the previous two books. Zach finally begins to come to terms with his sexuality and his attraction to Daniel, but a new addition to the dorm (Chase's younger brother, Colin) seems to know exactly what buttons to push. The younger man takes charge and becomes part of the glue that binds the three men together. I loved seeing Zach's more playful, carefree side emerge and it's so heart-warming to see him build bridges with the other men in the dorm.

Ok, I really want to move to this dorm, because it is hot AF.

I really got mad at Zach in the last book, because I thought that he was a huge jerk. And, well, he was. But now, we learn what was behind that jerkdom. It doesn't excuse him in any way, but it is more understandable. I hate that he had to feel that way about himself, because it is just so harmful.

Daniel and Colin are so patient and they really work at making everything work.

I have to deduct half a star because of missing words, wrong grammar and, especially frustrating wrong names. The last 20% were the worst. As if the proofreader had stopped working at some point.

Better Together is the third book in the Boys of Talbert Hall serie by Quinn Ward. I liked that Daniel and Zach finally got their story and I loved that it was with Colin, Chase's younger brother. Sometimes I did get a little bit the feeling that Colin was on the outside, but overall I loved their story.

This book is for all the kinky romance readers!
What can you expect from this book? Let me tell you

MMM ✔
BDSM ✔
Roommates ✔
Enemies to lovers feel ( only small feelings of it) ✔
Asshole trying to do better ✔
Younger guy dominating older guys ✔

If that isn't enough to convince you to read this book then let me tell you a little about Zach, Colin, and Daniel.

Zach is the Asshole trying to do better. He is struggling with himself and a lot of self-hate! He is a guy you will want to strangle, wants to hug, wants to shake him a little, and then you will root for him a whole lot!

Then you have Daniel. He is in love with Zach who is straight (or is he?) He and Zach are best friends and have been each other's everything since starting college. Daniel is the sweet guy. The one you want as a friend, who you want a hug from, who will make you swoon a little and will make you fall in love.

I hated myself for putting this off until tomorrow, but the first time I got a taste of Daniel, it would be with Zach helping me drive him wild.

At last but not least you have Colin. Colin is the alpha in this book, he is the guy who will have your panties wet, the one that will make you reconsider why not try a threesome relationship. He is younger than the other two but don't let that fool you! He will be the glue in this relationship, the foundation the love can grow on.

Now put these three men together and you have one hot book filled with ups and downs a lot of low-key drama (yes that is possible) and a whole lot of love.

“Maybe if you hurry, Colin will give you a treat when we get home.”“Do I look like a fucking puppy to you?” I ground out. Daniel scrubbed his chin and glanced at Colin. The two of them flashed mirroring smirks, and I knew I was in trouble. “It was a figure of speech guys,” I quickly protested.

I really loved these guys together it just made sense. They fit so perfectly together but also gave room for each person's struggle, personalities, and joys. I also loved that they actually had a conversation about being 3 in a relationship and didn't just jump into it without thinking about it.

What has me giving this book 4 stars and not 5 is that some of the roles in their BDSM relationship were a little too liquid for me (if that makes sense) I needed that they had a little more talks about all of their roles and not just one person's role (don't want to spoil who but you will know what I mean when reading the book).

I also thought one of the biggest dramas/plot twists in this book was over too quickly with not enough fall out that would have made it realistic. I was left with a feeling that it went too fast and that it was too easy to just get over it and move on!

But all in all a great book that really captured me and made me so intrigued about the rest of the series that i ended up reading the other books too.

This book can be read as a standalone!

After having read the other books in the series, I wasn’t entirely sure how I would feel about having Zach as one of the leads. Zach basically established himself as a complete jerk in the past two books, so I was mostly worried that he’d be extremely unlikeable and mostly cause pain to his roommate/best friend/love interest Daniel. To my pleasant surprise, though, it actually turned out all right. We get more insight into Zach in this book, and how the self-hatred instilled in him by his father caused him to padlock himself into the closet and lash out at the people around him out of fear and jealousy. It certainly doesn’t excuse his behaviour, but it does explain it. He actually spends a good chunk of this book trying to make amends to Daniel and their friends (Jayden, Chase, Brandon and Matt, the leads from the first two books in the series) for his past behaviour. (And a good chunk of the book is spent on this because the book seems to enjoy repeating itself.) But although Zach had decided to start trying to make things right when he returned to college for his senior year, the catalyst to actually start the change comes in the form of Chase’s younger brother Colin, here to start his first year of college. It was obvious that Zach and Daniel were way into each other, but it takes Colin to kick their asses in gear and admit it. Mostly by him offering to be the glue that brings them all together. Unlike the other books in the series, this story isn’t about age play. Colin, Zach, and Daniel embark on a three-way romantic D/s relationship, and the majority of the book is them navigating that and trying to prove to each other that this isn’t all just a passing fling. The book is told through all three of their alternating points of view, so no one gets left out of all the introspection. These three all have big feelings and Zach especially is using this opportunity to explore his after having had to deny them for so long. It’s a good story of falling in love, acceptance, and second chances, and if I have one major complaint it’s that I found the two ‘important’ sex scenes too long (also didn’t help that BDSM isn’t my thing so I wasn’t getting that out of it). Now that all the original main cast are all in happy relationships I’m curious to see if this is the final book in the The Boys of Talbert Hall series. This book introduces a new roommate, Justice, in a way that looks like he has his own journey to go on, so maybe we’ll see more of these guys in the future after all. I look forward to it if that’s the case.

Daniel has had a crush on Zach since they met-- and Zach’s felt the same, even though the internalized homophobia he’s absorbed from his father keeps him lashing out instead of acknowledging his desires. Now in their senior year, it looks impossible for them to be together, until freshman Colin moves into their suite, and there’s suddenly the chance for stability in a relationship for three. It’s worth pointing out that this is part of a series, and while it can stand alone, characters from earlier installments appear here, and knowing their stories gives depth to this one. For one thing, a large part of Zach’s journey is making amends to roommates he alienated in earlier novels, and that process definitely gives him depth and relatability as a character. The chemistry between Zach, Daniel, and Colin is intense, although sometimes the rapidly shifting dynamics of their relationship can be a bit disconcerting. On one hand, I love the realism of people early in their adult lives figuring out their kinks and how to relate to each other. On the other, it’s somewhat exhausting to see them coming to different conclusions about how they feel/where they fit on a chapter-by-chapter basis. Overall, I found their story easy to get caught up in, which is possibly at least part of why the ending felt a bit abrupt to me, both in terms of the ease of the developments in Zach’s relationship with his father and the place the guys’ relationship ended up, which I’d classify more as an HFN than an HEA. However, I appreciate the fact that the novel acknowledges the uncertain longevity that surrounds any relationship in early adulthood, especially during college years. Zach, Daniel, and Colin are a compelling unit, and watching them come together makes for an enjoyable read.

This was such a good book. The characters were so well written, I could feel their internal struggles like they were my own. Three guys, each of them with different needs and wishes, all realize that what they want the most is to be together, all of them. Colin is the younger brother of Chase and is new to the living arrangements. Zach and Daniel have been part of the group for the past few years already. Zach has been a bit of a jerk, but no one understands why. His treatment and homophobix toxic outbursts have been because he is internally terrified that he is also gay and he knows his father will hate him for it. Daniel has been his friend for a while and is beginning to understand that Zach is always different when he comes back from being away at home for a bit and he has a feeling it has to do with his homelife but he isn’t for sure. Colin watches people and notices how much these two friends really want each other, but neither one is ready to admit it. All it takes is a bossy push from him, and suddenly they are a throuple. What makes this book so good is their interaction with each other and they way that the threesome is really what makes them each complete. They all have needs that are only met when they are all three together. It really was a good book, and I definitely needed a fan after reading parts of it! The steam is off the charts once they all let their guard down and unwind. I hadn’t read the first books in this series, but I will have to go look them up now and see how the other two relationships unfolded. This fact didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the book. It was still good on its own.

Better Together is a great addition to the Talbert Hall series and I'm so happy to finally have Zach and Daniel's story with Colin being a hot bonus.
Zach and Daniel's friendship was background in the previous books but there was hints of the possibility of more between then along with struggles that Zach was going through. My heart totally went out to him and all that he was internalising, his dad definitely not helping in that regard. When Colin arrives as their new roommate for the new school year, I like the dance they do around each other as two are still denying their attraction to each other and Colin tries to find where he fits as the freshman in a white full of seniors. When options are made clear and what they want and can offer each other, especially being able to let go and be taken care of, it's equally hot and sweet. I think they work better as a triad with Colin offering an unseen dynamic that Daniel, and especially Zach, weren't even aware of having as part of their relationship. Zach is the character that really grows and shows his better self in this story but he would never have been able to do that without the other two.
The group of men who live together in the college suite are a wonderful group of men but a shadow fell over their group recently with Zach's poor behaviour and he gets his chance at redemption here. It's adorable reading him getting to know some of them in a while new way. I was surprised towards the end at how things played out for a couple of the characters seeing as how one of them had been earlier on but it was a refreshing change to how that normally ends.
A wonderful mmm story in this great series. I'd recommend reading them in order as you get to know the relationships as the develop for the group.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

Oh, I loved the three of them together so much! They all needed each other. Dad redemption arc was not needed! I think Zach would've been fine if his dad didn't accept him and I sighed very loudly when his dad was okay with it and of course had a sob story for his actions. He's a terrible father through and through. I don't think Zach will forget what happened and he honestly shouldn't.

Jayden and Chase were assholes. Brandon and Matt were more understanding and that was mind boggling because Chase is literally his brother. Jayden saying that they would need time to get used to their relationship was such a cop out. Nobody needed time to get used to Chase and Matt being little but three people being together is suddenly more taboo than a daddy/little relationship, yeah they both can kiss my ass! Jayden trying to basically talk Colin out of it because Zach was being an asshole really irked me. I viewed the two of them very differently after reading this, they're shitty people as well.

I wish I could've read more about Daniel and Colin giving into heir submissive sides. Colin deserves to be taken care of too and I really would've liked to see all of them have alone time, separately to see how each of their relationships played out. So, like Brandon and Matt, I think their story ended too early as well. They fit so well together but they have so much to learn about each other, I really liked them and I'm so glad Colin showed up at Zach's dads house, he deserved to be their as much as Daniel did, especially after saying "I love you" to each other!

Ok.... given a 3 instead of 2.5

The book was good, I live for the MMM .... there was just a few things that made it 2.5 stars instead of 5.
It is actually really really good, I just had a few hard ticks about this one.

Grammar, punctuation, and incorrect words in sentences. You know ending quotation marks go a long way.

Some scenes where cut so short and some where too long. It seemed like the author was trying to make the relationship look rushed like from friends to committed relationship in 3 days but I want done right.

The way the character development played out made the book seem like a HFN, not a HEA. Especially with the tension that seemed to happen between Colin and Daniel when Colin showed up at the end. I dont think they have established there relationship enough or the roles in there relationship enough for this to come to a end. This need about another 50-60 pages, you can never have r enough character development.

I also think that the "Dad situation" seemed to wrap up too nicely at the end. I was so confused with the attitude change. I am like so convinced that the dad is going to try and kill Zach in the "next book".

Last thing... I there is a bet or sexual promise made in the book, I expect it to actually be written.
And out of all the kinks in the world why, to a bunch of gay-kinky-daddy-little people, is polyamory the weirdest and most non understandable thing????

This was my first read in this series, but I had no trouble understanding or enjoying what was happening, so it completely works as a stand alone. I love MMM stories, particularly when all members are equal partners, rather than a couple plus one. Here, Zach and Daniel are friends and roommates, but no more, although they both have an attraction to the other. Zach is prickly due to internalized homophobia resulting from a family situation, and Daniel doesn't want to risk their friendship. New roommate Colin reads the room, rocks the boat, and brings them together (with himself). There is some angst, and Zach has to grow and learn to accept himself. It is sweet and steamy. There are two main reasons I only gave it 4 stars - first, there were numerous editing issues that distracted from the story, and second, the transformation of Zach's father was too extreme to feel realistic. Other than that, I really enjoyed the story.

I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

M/M/M throuple

I completely loved this series so this for me was a big disappointment. I could not get into it and had to really force myself to keep reading. I almost DNF in the first 20%. Overall, I didn't hate it but I certainly didn't love it. Zach was a character I did not like at all. I'm fine with characters in the closet but when they aren't even honest with their partners it's a big no for me. Zach sending that video text in the beginning almost made me not continue reading. I did however really like Colin and Daniel together so they kept me somewhat interested. I found the writing confusing. I've read throuples before and I have never felt overwhelmed by all the names and keeping people straight before. I did notice after reading some others notes that I wasn't the only one. Hopefully it is just due to it being an arc and will hopefully go through more editing cause I found it confusing. Overall, the storyline was ok and I'm giving this a neutral rating.

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I really enjoyed this book. It was cool seeing Zach coming into is own. Colin’s the missing piece who helped Daniel & Zach be honest with each other about how they feel but he’s also the glue that holds them together. When Zach finally explained to his dad that they’re like a 3 legged stool, if one leg is missing it doesn’t work. His dad is surprisingly cool with their situation considering how strict he is with Zach. I would’ve loved a scene at the Lodge as Zach really wouldn’t know what hit him. I like how that even though Daniel is dominant he also knows when to let himself go and give the reigns to Colin. I wonder what’s going on with Justice, their new roommate who isn’t around much and when they run into him working at the Fall Fair, he seemed like something’s going on with him but he wouldn’t tell Colin what’s wrong. Fingers crossed we find out what’s up with him and that he finds someone to take care of him. I’d recommend this book, series and author to anyone

This is the third book in the series and it can be read as a standalone but it’s more fan if you’ve read the first two books. In this story we follow Daniel and Zach who have been roommates and friends for three years and Colin, Chase’s younger brother. Chase was one of the main characters in book one.
What I loved the most about this book was that I was able to get completely lost in it. I don't know how to describe it exactly but when I was read it I didn't feel like I was reading fiction it felt like a friend was telling me their story and it was such a beautiful love story. Colin, Zack and Daniel completed each other perfectly and my God their chemistry was absolutely explosive. I also really loved the found family theme.
I had the best time reading Better Together (and the entire series) and I'm really going to miss those guys.

I received a free copy of this book through Gay Romance Reviews and this is my honest review

Being true to oneself can sometimes destroy friendships, that is why Zach and Daniel have both been hiding who they truly are from each other and from their suitemates. But when Colin arrives and sees how the two really feel for each other, and how attracted he is to both, he finds ways to make it all happen. He knows he is the youngest and the opposite of his older brother but he also found what he has been looking and saving himself for.

A sweet story of coming to terms with who you really are. Finding the courage to own up to it and be brave enough to face one's family being your true self. The idea of losing the family you have if you show who you truly are can scare you for life and it will be enough of a reason to keep hiding. But you also have to think of your happiness and holding on to it when it comes knocking.

I love how Colin, Daniel and Zach navigated through all these issues, facing them as one together after realizing what they are to each other.

This book had a lot going on, but in a very good way. There are many underlying factors that have caused Zach and Daniel to tip toe around their actual feelings towards each other, but that all changes when Colin moves into the suite. Colin knows what he wants and he knows that if he can just get Zach and Daniel to trust him, they could have something amazing. The dynamic between these three is truly beautiful. There is an innocence inter-mixed with utter filth that is hot as hell to read about. They each bring something to the relationship that makes them all better as a whole, than as individuals or even a couple. I loved the vulnerabilities that they are brave enough to face together and the way everyone in the suite comes together to show support for each other. The care and tenderness is truly touching and the sex is dirty and fun. Overall, a pretty great read!

I loved how Zach and Daniel finally got together and how dominating Colin was. He is such an opposite from sweet Chase. Triads are a definite favorite of mine so I loved seeing all three of these guys together. I do wish more had happened the first time together because it felt like Colin held back but overall, it was good. The only real issue I had with the story was Zach’s dad. When he was confronted with Zach being gay, it felt like he gave into easily and was suddenly overly nice & accepting. He was never like that before and it just really didn’t fit in so well. I was glad he was accepting but it felt really off. I loved the bonus story after the he school year was over...should be part of the book ...it really makes a great ending! Love these three guys though and can’t wait to see Colin working the bar at DeSires!!

A threesome that was meant to be!

I've been excited for Zach and Daniel's book since the last book was released, and while I'm not a huge fan of MMM, Collin really needed to be a part as well. The story itself was great and gave me all of the fluffy feels. I do think this book should have been a bit longer to fully see how the relationship developed and to give more background. As with all of the books in this series I wish the ending was done differently or at least had an epilogue, they seem a bit abrupt. The only real disappointment for me was the editing errors that plagued this book unlike any other of Quinn Ward's books. Most of them are simple enough to get past, but at one point the wrong names were being used incorrectly/interchangeably and it definitely pulled me out of the headspace to sort it out.

Let down

Loved the other 2 books in this series and I was really excited to read this one but man, that was A LOT of talking. I don't know any college guys that are that mature and have that deep of conversations like they are a 50yr old adult. Plus the dynamic b/w all 3 of them was weird. I thought Colin would be a bit more dominant, he kept flipping b/w dominant and submissive which I wasn't expecting, the blurb made it sound like he was quite dominant.
And side note I didn't know Jayden was such a jerk, so unforgiving, protecting his boyfriend or not, his boyfriend is still a grown man who can stick up for himself, and Zach had a really good reason for acting like a douche.
Spoiler, weird that Zach's dad ended up being gay as well, did not see that one coming and didn't fit the rest of what we knew about his dad.
Overall, read it just to finish it.

Now this is how you can tell a truly talented author. I thought there was no way I could ever like much less sympathize with Zach. But it happened. The emotions were so strong and powerful. We see the why as well as the fear. And the love, oh so much love. Even with friends to lovers being my favorite I can’t believe how much I loved this. Trust me, there are going to be things that surprise you but make total sense eventually. And a few faces you will be happy to see too. I love Quinn Ward’s work and know how talented they are and how much depth they put in a story and yet they surpassed themselves here. I’m not going into detail because I want you all to fully experience this but I’d love to know what y’all think.

I've been looking forward to Zach and Daniel's story and it was definitely worth the wait!!
Zac and Daniel have been roommates for a while. Colin is their new suite mate and Chase's brother.

I enjoyed watching their story develop. Pushing each other beyond comfort zones while also being supportive and trying to be open with one another. It's harder than it sounds...

Colin really knew how to press the right buttons for both Daniel and Zac. They were scorching hot together,  even with their clothes on.

There was great dynamics within their throuple. I really liked the alternating pov's.

A super sexy, sweet MMM romance with just a little angst I'd happily recommend.

I look forward to Justice's story. Please..  I hope he gets a story.

** 3.5 stars ** I enjoyed this story although there were some aspects of it that held me back. Daniel and Zack have been lusting after each other for a long time. It takes their new suitemate, Colin, to finally bring them together. The three of them have serious chemistry, but the dynamics between them shift in a disconcerting way. It’s too rapid, not fluid, and I had difficulty getting invested in them because of it. It also seemed to prevent them from solidifying as a unit so I was left with the sense that this was a HFN rather than a HEA. I think this book is best read as part of the series rather than as a standalone. I’m hoping that the next installment may help better wrap up the story of these three men.

When Zach first appeared in the first book I knew that there was more to him than just blind hostility and I was really happy to get to see his softer side. I loved seeing Zach grow into himself and accept who is is. He has a great redemption story. I also loved seeing the three of them together, they were so great with each other. Sometimes when Daniel says he wants to submit it still seems like he is trying to be in some control so that was a weird dynamic. I really enjoyed their dynamic overall. The scenes between the three were really steamy and varied. I really enjoyed this third installment. I am extremely curious about Colin's roommate, Justice, and I really hope that we get to see more of him later. I would definitely recommend this book.

The boys of Talbert Hall are back! Hiding who he really is was slowly killing Zach inside. Daniel has done anything to stay close to Zach afraid that Zach would reject him if he found out how he felt. Colin is a new roommate and along with his attraction to both Daniel and Zach sees what they have been hiding from each other as well. Growing and accepting himself while making up for past actions allow Zach to come into his own with the help of Colin and Daniel. Great story of overcoming the past and moving forward towards a future that you never thought you could have.

I received an advanced copy of this book for an honest review.
