How do you find something you didn’t know you’d lost?
Olivia King has had it. She’s out of shape and tired of being alone. When she takes a tour of a fitness center, she had no idea how much she would gain while trying to lose.
Frankie Dean and her two best friends own Your Way, a place where fitness means more than improving your body.
Can Frankie lead Olivia through this journey to repair her self-image and discover her self-worth? And will Olivia give Frankie something she didn’t know she’d lost.
This is the first novel in the Your Way series. Each are standalone but, you may see familiar faces and old friends.
Jamey Moody is a small town Texas girl living her best life with her little terrier Leo, who brings her a toy every time she walks in the house. When she’s not reading or writing her next sapphic romance you can find her on a bike ride, paddle boarding the lake, or in the middle of an adventure. Reach out, she’d love to hear from you.
3.5⭐️ – When assumptions are made, people get hurt. That’s one of the two important lessons the characters of this book learn, the other one being that there’s more to feeling good in your body than weight.
Frankie knows all about that. With her best friends Stella and Desi, she’s one of the owners of Your Way, the kind of gym where even I would probably feel comfortable. Olivia is tired of complaining about the weight she’s gained and convinces her best friend Sofia to join her for a tour of Your Way. They both end up signing up.
The chemistry between Frankie and Olivia is instantaneous and for a while, it seems as if this will be a sweet light romance, with Olivia learning to love her body again as she builds muscle and discovers new strengths in herself. But when Frankie’s ex comes back in the picture, the romance that seemed meant to be starts crumbling.
At first, I really liked Frankie, enough to overlook what could be called biphobia when she talked about her ex, but as the story went on, her readiness to assume started to annoy me. You’re a grown woman, Frankie. If you want to know if Olivia went on a date with another woman while you were giving your ex another chance, ask her! Yes, I talked to Frankie a lot in my head. Olivia deserves better, which Frankie will learn, but not before they both get hurt (not irremediably, fortunately).
I enjoyed the first half of the story a lot then I felt the second half dragged on a bit. It didn’t help that while I really liked the narrator’s voice, I didn’t always know who was talking. However, one thing I loved was a twist in the romance that I didn’t see coming at all. I can’t say more without spoiling and the surprise of it was a big part of why I loved it so I’ll stop here. It made everything more real and less romance-novel-y.
I also liked the secondary characters a lot, which is promising, as this is the first book in a series and the following ones focus on some of those characters. Book 2, Finding Family, is Desi’s story and book 3, Finding Forever, will be Stella’s. Stella who, besides Olivia, was my favourite character in this one.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
I've not really had the opportunity to read very much in the last couple of weeks and to be honest I've missed it a lot - so it was nice to try and get back into the swing of things with this one. I have an ARC for the second part of this series - Finding Family - and I didn't want to read it without having read Finding Home first.
I really enjoyed the main characters in Frankie and Olivia - but as is normal with me I most enjoyed the friendship group around them and how the characters interacted with each other. I enjoyed getting to know both MCs through the friendship discussions and it made things seem much more believable when they got together.
The addition of the ex-girlfriend worked from a story point of view but frustrated me none-the-less. The body positivity messages throughout the book are great and I appreciated that whilst there could have been a source of angst towards the end of the book it wasn't treated that way.
I'm looking forward to reading more of Moody and reading more about this friendship group.
UPDATE: Second time reading was the audiobook narrated by Morgan A Southard. Thank you Jamey Moody for the code.
As before, it was an enjoyable read/listen and the narrator done a great job. *****************
I received an ARC copy of the book direct from the author and voluntarily leaving my review.
This is Book 1 in a new series that the author is writing. It is set in a gym called Your Way that is owned by some friends, Stella, Frankie & Desi. This one is Frankie’s story.
Olivia plucks up the courage to go to the gym and ropes her best friend Sofia into going with her. She is body conscious and thinks she needs to lose a few pounds and she also would like to gain her self-confidence back. The moment she meets Frankie, the sparks fly, even though they both think that the other wouldn’t be interested. As much as I liked them both, Olivia was just so down to earth and wears her heart on her sleeve. My favourite secondary character was Stella. I think she was my favourite out of the book. I really hope the next one in the series is about Stella. Great story line, some amazing characters and I already want to read the next one.
This is well-written and a page turner. Keep up the good work Ms Moody.
I ended up skimming through a lot of the pages just because there was so much dialogue between the characters. It was every day, routine stuff and at times the conversations felt forced... as though they were written just to fill the pages.
I did like Olivia's character though, she's pretty cool.

Olivia and Frankie and their friends feel like people you want to know. I could relate to the way Olivia was feeling when she joined the gym. The way Frankie deals with her class was spot on it’s how I dealt with my clients as a personal trainer. After some miss communication and time apart they know how much they are meant to be together. The narrator Morgan A Southard did a great job. She gave them the voices I imagined them having in my mind. I love this series.
This wasn’t a bad read, it is just so bland with suburbia and the hetero-lifescript being held up as the ultimate goal of all relationships.
This also introduces a new shelf: everyone is gay. Because they ALL were. Every woman was into women (even the “straight” girl). Seriously, where are they? Is this some kind of alternate universe where straights are the sexual-minority?
The MCs date/sleep with other people but I couldn’t really bring myself to care. All the characters are practically interchangeable anyway, with all the head-hopping I didn’t even bother to try and tell them apart anyway. The way Olivia framed her reasons for doing what she did, with all the blame on Frankie, bothered me. Yes, Frankie was in the wrong, but that doesn’t give Olivia a “get out of jail free” card.
The “supportive friends” tag is very appropriate here. Every single incident that happens between Olivia and Frankie: first the incident happens. Right after that, Olivia has to discuss it with Sophie, and then Sophie discusses it with Stella, who discusses it with Frankie and then they all discuss it with Desi, and then Frankie walks a dog and discusses it with Grace and finally, Olivia discusses it with Laura and Jenna before she spills the beans to Elizabeth.
Okay, now onto the next incident! To be discussed with everyone!
I honestly never got lost at what drama is happening because every incident is discussed at least twice with varying groups of people. The only two people who don’t endlessly discuss everything is Olivia and Frankie, which causes the main plot.
The sex scenes were cookie-cutter and vanilla: lick, lick, finger, finger, find the g-spot, cue OMG BEST ORGASM EVER, rinse and repeat. I was hoping for Frankie to be a bit more butch, but alas, no.
Overall, a fast and safe read with some explicit scenes, supportive friends and a LOT of discussion. I shouldn’t complain because I got this book for free. It entertained me while riding the train, but it didn’t wow me.
I give this 2.5 stars because of the message it tried to convey. The character development is weak and the challenges seem a little high school drama not something that should be happening in your 30s/40s.
There were some sweet/tender moments in here so I hung on to finish reading it.
Surprised I gave this 5*s - a very parochial book which is written in a tiny bubble - nothing impregnates it, so no exterior context at all. But engaging enough to want to read book 2 in the series, thus the 5*s.
After loving the first book by Jamey Moody I was very curious about her new book. To know that it will be the start of a new series made it even better because I love reading series. And this one didn’t disappoint me. The way Olivia‘s self-confidence grew during the book was wonderful. How she discovered that it needs more than just looking the way on the outside many people think you should was wonderful. Beauty comes from the inside even if that’s often hard to see. I don’t think I would have done some things like she did during the story (especially one particular one) but I see that it was necessary for her to be the person she was at the end. Frankie on the other hand seemed to be more at peace with herself at the beginning. But you were able to see soon that she also had to struggle with lots of things and that a perfect body isn’t everything. Sometimes during the book I wanted them to have a real talk to guide them in the right direction. But of course they didn’t listen. Lol I‘m already looking forward to the next book in the series and am curious about whom it will be. There were so many wonderful side characters that I‘m happy with all of them. Well done Jamey you’re definitely on my list of my most favorite authors.
I received an advance reader copy at no cost or obligation from the author.
I thought this was really slow in the beginning and I almost DNFed it. It wasn’t holding my attention, and I’m not sure if it was the style, that it was mostly told through dialog, or the lack of punctuation. Then when I got to the scene with Olivia’s last night in Houston, I was disappointed. That was the opposite of everything Olivia had been saying and supposedly feeling. I enjoyed the gym scenes and how working out gave Olivia such confidence. It made me want to go back to a gym despite my health issues. After halfway, the book seemed to pick up and I breezed through it. The marathon was interesting; I’ve never been in one so I didn’t know all that much about them. Frankie and Olivia started communicating better and the story came together.
The first of a three book series where each of the owners of gym finds romance. Olivia King is a busy architect but not feeling her best self. She decides to try a gym to get in better shape. The gym is wonderfully welcoming especially Frankie Dean one of the owners and fitness trainers. The two have an instant spark. Frankie is a little hesitant to start anything with because she is a client and Olivia takes it as a lack of interest. But Olivia is invested in the gym and how she is feeling better about her body which in turn gives her confidence. She even takes up the challenge of training for a triathlon.
After initial miscues the two do end up going out. But again, timing is wrong as Frankie’s ex reappears wanting to try again. There are miscommunications that have surprising consequences. I will give the author kudos for giving Olivia choices and how she handles things. Of course things are going to work but this is a bumpy road to love. I loved Olivia. Frankie was harder to take because of her missing communication skills. My only negative is that so much of the everything happens around working out in the gym or training for the triathlon. It got repetitious to me. But it is Frankie’s workplace that brings them together. Available on KU. (3.5 stars)
I loved the premise of this book, it was so good at the beginning but during the second half there’s too much, everything you could think of happens.
I really liked Olivia’s character, you could understand where she came from, it was not only empathy, but you could identify yourself with her. Now... Frankie, yikes, I liked her but to just consider going back with your ex that dumped you while dating new people… not smart.
Stella was my favorite and I’m considering skipping book 2 of the series to read book 3 right away.
The way home is always within you, believing in yourself is the first step.
Olivia has left a bad relationship and found herself out of shape. Her self confidence had been rocked and she was accepting less of herself. Frankie owned the local fitness center and a connection is formed when Olivia decided to take a tour of the center. The telling of their journey is such a beautiful story. The many characters in this book are strong woman you just can't help but love. They all have such a loving embrace on life. Olivia joins the gym and has a tough start though Frankie continues to help repair her self image. Together they search within themselves to find the key to what they want in life. Exercise, conversations about self-esteem, self worth and acceptance help them see a place they did not know they lost, HOME. Sofia is Olivia's best friend, Stella and Des are partners with Frankie and together they bring a touching story that every woman faces at some point in her life. Jamey Moody has given such a heartfelt look at how woman can change everything by just embracing them self. I am so excited that this is a first in a series. I look forward to reading more about these strong characters and the life they lead. I loved how courageously they made choices finding the patg they needed. This is a must read that is inspiring to the soul and fun for the heart.
it was very sweet story, with a spin on body possitive attitude. I like that the author put bit of both sides here. yes body looks isn't everything, because your attitude and character is more important. however there is way to balance it all. the interaction between all characters and discovery of self worth and love...good read
I really enjoyed this book! Frankie and Olivia are both very lovable and have great chemistry! They have the best group of friends! This is a feel good story, I highly recommend!
I loved this book for so many reasons. The couple themselves, Frankie and Olivia, both just wanted to be loved but had to over come some past. Olivia with her self image problem from a failed relationship and Frankie with her hurt over her ex marrying a man she cheated on her with. But for both of them, sparks ignited when they met and neither wanted to make the first move. Just when things are starting to go their way and they are both feeling love and possibly a future, Frankie’s ex reappears, not married and begging Frankie to give her another chance. Olivia thinking it was right, steps back and both do not communicate what they are feeling. They separate while each tries to come to terms with what they want and still do not communicate how they feel. They find there way back to each other with the help of their friends. Friendships, exercise and well being, Confidence, strength, love and belief is what made this a perfect love story. The writing pulled everything together in a nice warm love story. Looking forward to the next book in this series.
Jamey Moody is quickly becoming a favorite author and must read. This is her second book.
Frankie is one of the owners of a local gym. Her last girlfriend left her for a man and is getting married soon. Olivia is an "overweight" and overworked woman with low self-esteem. Olivia convinces her friend Sofia to go with her to check out the local gym. Little did she know what a life changing decision that would be.
Finding Home has supporting characters that are well rounded and you want to know more. I also want friends like them. I am looking forward to the next in this series. I am an avid lesbian romance reader. Finding Home pushed all the right buttons.
This story gave me much to ponder regarding my own body image and wondering what others see when they look at me. Olivia joins a gym to lose weight, and Frankie, one of the owners, tries to help her repair her self image. Both of these women have past relationships that have left them hurt and vulnerable.
Jamey Moody wrote a very powerful story about women's perception of self a worth and trust issues, and looking deeply within oneself. Olivia's best friend Sofia and Frankie's best friends and co-owners, Desi and Stella, were so supportive and enriched their lives greatly. Their interactions were fabulous! The journey Olivia and Frankie made to finding their confidence, love and home was heart warming and thought provoking. I highly recommend this book and look forward to the next in the series, Finding Family!
I am not sure how to rate this book. The beginning was a bit rough for our MCs, and i kept wanting them to communicate. The second half was heartwarming and the HEA made sense.
The author took time to develop her characters that's very evident well edited and a solid story of self image, worth and confidence all those things are A+. However I think she spent too much time on will Frankie and Olivia get there and when they finally did they were side tracked by an ex, throw in a work trip miscommunication and a widow and it makes you wonder so many chapters all that build and then this which led to repetition and then when they finally communicated it was full speed ahead. Despite all these hiccups it was a good read great friendships and understanding your self worth and loving your true self despite of your shape and size
Great read and story one you cannot put down. This was about Oliva an architect who has low esteem and has low esteem and put on some weight. She decides to go to the to the to Your Way Gym and asks her best friend to go with her. This is funny and heartfelt at times but it's a great story and well worth a read despite the odd error it doesn't ruin it. Jamey Moody did a great job writing this so give it a chance if you like a good romance Recommend definitely and worth the 5***** other have give it
I enjoyed the story. The characters Olivia and Frankie were nicely developed and so was the story. Olivia started at the gym to loose the weight she had gained and progressively improved her self esteem as well as her body improved in strength, agility and confidence in her abilities both at work and with Frankie (one of the trainers and owners of the gym).
The other characters in the story like Desi, Stella, and Sophia. Lucy and Jenna from Houston were nice and interesting characters as well.
This was a beautifully written story of seeing one’s own beauty within. Showing each reader how we can get caught up in the negative way we see ourselves and projects that negativity on others. I love how the story and characters developed and evolved through its entirety. Wonderful job and look forward to reading more of Jamey’s work. Pretty shnazzy, Ms Moody. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Powerful story of strong women who suffer the challenges of relationships, self-esteem issues, and finding the strength in truth and communication to accept the love they deserve. A very good read. Well written. I enthusiastically and unequivocally recommend this book and any others by this author. I’m anxious to begin the second book in the series, Finding Family. Thank you Peace
Olivia King is an architect and is fed up with being overweight and out of shape. She persuades her best friend to visit a gym with her to see if she wants to try a membership to help get the pounds off. Frankie is one of the owners of Your Way fitness center. When she gives Olivia and her friend the tour there’s a definite attraction. A journey of self awareness and wellness. Great author and narrator.
I loved this book about an overweight 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 joining a gym to lose weight & get fit. There she meets one of the owners and it is attraction at first sight. The story is well written, with an interesting plot and good main and supporting characters. Well worth a read, would highly recommend.
A feel good story about learning to love the skin you’re in. Understanding your wellbeing takes patience and hard work but ultimately once you love yourself finding the love of your life will follow. I would definitely read this book again and can’t wait to read what’s next for this group of friends you can’t help but love.
I found it a good read although repeated some of the same dialogue more than once. There was not one character i did not like, both lead characters had low self esteem but managed to work through it and form a loving strong relationship well done. Have read to of authors other books and found them enjoyable
I thought it was a dry good story until Olivia went against her morals that the book set up. I didn't have a problem with her sleeping with Jenna. I mean both she and Frankie didn't communicate what was going on with themselves. My problem was her intention to not tell Frankie at all. Then when she finally did, Frankie was totally fine with it. Totally confusing.
